Brooke Shield Joins ‘Addams Family’ Broadway Cast


Brooke Shields has signed on to play the role of Morticia Addams in the Broadway musical The Addams Family. Shields is taking over for Bebe Neuwirth who originated the role when the production began 15 months ago. Bebe’s last appearance will be June 26.

Already exited from the production is Nathan Lane who played Gomez Addams and was replaced by Roger Rees from the ’90s sitcom Cheers.

Shields is quickly becoming a Broadway veteran, appearing now for the fifth time in a Broadway production. Her former Great White Way productions including Grease (1995), Cabaret (2001), Chicago (2005) and Wonderful Town (2004).

Shield’s took to Broadway after her career slowed down following her successful run as a teen model and then the leading role on the hit Sitcom Suddenly Susan.
