Flava Flav Employees: He’s Bouncing Payroll Checks

Flava Flav’s Chicken employees are pissed, claiming that the former rap star doesn’t have enough money in his bank account to cover their payroll checks. For his part Flav is claiming that the employees simply don’t like him and want him out of town, Flav told TMZ:

“It’s not true information, first of all. And second of all, maybe these are people that’s just jealous of me being here and probably want to see me out. Yes, we do have money in our accounts.”

Employees for the chain spoke with WQAD in Clinton, IA, mentioning that checks as small as $150 have bounced. One employee says they spoke with the issuing bank and that institution also refused to cash the check.

Company Co-owner Nick Cimino says the payroll issue was caused by a “credit card glitch” which was quickly resolved. He does agree with Flav however that disgruntled ex-employees may be to blame for spreading negative information about the company.
