Kaley Cuoco ‘Marries’ Ryan Sweeting On ‘Ellen’ [Video]

Kaley Cuoco “married” fiancé Ryan Sweeting on Ellen Wednesday.

The Big Bang Theory star and the professional tennis player became engaged in September after dating for three months.

Cuoco said she knew it might look crazy to some people that the couple are moving so fast after such a short relationship. But Ellen DeGeneres assured her that she understood where Cuoco was coming from, saying that she and Portia De Rossi moved in together after knowing each other for only two weeks. They’ve been together for nine years, and married on August 16, 2008.

Cuoco explained that she wasn’t “in a good place to meet anyone” over the summer, but a mutual friend told her that she and Sweeting should meet. The friend, tennis doubles player Mike Bryan, gave Sweeting Cuoco’s number after she finally she relented. Sweeting sent her a text and told her he would be in a Los Angeles, but Cuoco didn’t know how long he would be staying.

“We go and have a dinner date, and we’re still on our first date. He never went home,” she said. Cuoco said Sweeting had just had back surgery and that she “kinda nursed him back to health.” Cuoco said she knew by day two, “This is it.”

DeGeneres told Cuoco that her head writer, Kevin, had recently been ordained and, if she was serious, that he could marry her and Sweeting on the spot. Cuoco agreed, and DeGeneres gave her a veil and necklace with tennis balls on them. DeGeneres also gave the couple her rings to exchange.

The 27-year-old, who recently tied with The Middle‘s Eden Sher for the Critic’s Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, previously said she wanted to marry Sweeting as soon as possible.

“We’ve been planning, so hopefully early next year,” Cuoco said last month. “We don’t have an exact date, but I want to marry him tomorrow so I want to go as fast as possible.”
