‘5 Browns’ Manager And Father Keith Brown Gets 10 Years To Life

Keith Brown, the father and former manager of the 5 Browns, a popular piano quintet was sentenced on Thursday to no less than 10 years in jail with the possibility of a life sentence. Brown was recently convicted of sexually abusing his three daughters (members of the band) when they were children.

Speaking to Brown U.S. District Judge David Mortensen said:

“I do believe you are a pedophile. I do believe you are a danger to society.”

Judge Mortensen went on to tell Brown:

“I think it’s obvious a home should be a refuge and a safe place, and that a parent should be a protector,” while noting that the abuse “went on for years.”

The 5 Browns are currently on tour in Florida and therefore did not attend the hearing, all of the children, including Brown’s sons are now in their 20s and 30s.

While not in attendance for the hearing, Brown’s children played a large role in the case, alerting authorities to their abuse once it was discovered that their father was attempting to manage new child acts.

Brown eventually plead guilty to sodomy of a child under 14, and two charges of sex abuse of a child.

Brown did not apologize in court but did provide “a statement of apology addressed to his family and the community.”
