Nintendo employees have reason to celebrate, their Nintendo 3DS system, the industries first relevant and major 3D handheld gaming unit has broken first day sales records for the company.
According to Nintendo:
“U.S. day-one sales numbers for Nintendo 3DS were the highest of any Nintendo hand-held system in our history.”
Nintendo officials also announced that the systems launch has went off with less glitches than past hardware releases, stating that customer service tech support calls were “well below the rate experienced during past hardware launches.”
Nintendo won’t release sales numbers until April 14, but if numbers are as high as expected, Sony and Microsoft will once again be playing a game of catch up to yet another Nintendo device that was at one time ridiculed before being heralded as the next big thing in its gaming sector.
