Kristen Wiig And Ex-Boyfriend Fabrizio Moretti Back Together, May Have Never Split

Kristen Wiig and Fabrizio Moretti are back together — and may have never broken up at all.

The couple was spotted on Sunday sitting courtside to watch the New York Knicks take on the MInnesota Timberwolves. The two were seen smiling together and appeared to witnesses to be a happy couple.

This news comes months after Wiig and the Strokes drummer reportedly split up.

The couple dated for close to a year and a half, but in July reports said that they came to a decision to end their relationship.

“It’s completely amicable,” a source told People magazine. “They are friends.”

The breakup came as a surprise considering how well Kristen Wiig and Fabrizio Moretti seemed to be getting along very well. In July 2012, Kristen told Marie Claire that the relationship made her “happier than I’ve ever been.”

Though rumors and unnamed sources said the two split, both Wiig and Moretti remained quiet on the status of their relationship.

It could be that the two decided on time apart. Wiig has had a busy career as she transitioned away from Saturday Night Live, taking on movie roles and even earning an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay for her work on Bridesmaids.

Though she had a busy schedule, Kristen Wiig admitted she was a bit lost without Saturday Night Live.

“The show was seven years of my life and a six-day work week and you’re constantly with your friends all day, all night … You sort of live and breathe the show … Then, when it’s over, you kind of feel a little lost … it was definitely an adjustment – even just the hours and [no longer] being in New York.”

It wasn’t long after their reported breakup that Kristen Wiig and Fabrizio Moretti were back together. The couple was spotted in September getting coffee together in Brooklyn.

It’s likely the details of the relationship will never be known. Kristen Wiig has been notoriously quiet about her private life, though she has had some high-profile relationships include a four-year marriage to actor Hayes Hargrove and a subsequent relationship with actor Brian Petsos.
