Man Shoots Family Of Four And Their Dogs For Barking Too Loud

A 56-year-old Arizona man apparently gunned down a whole family, killing them and their dogs because he was upset about the noise the barking dogs made.

Michael Dante Guzzo became enraged over time at the racket the dogs were making at all hours at the Phoenix apartment complex.

A heavy response SWAT team was dispatched to the Guzzo’s residence following the murders but he was found dead in his apartment having committed suicide.

Detectives say that the man used a pump-action shotgun to kill his neighbors. The victims were Bruce Moore, aged 66, his daughter Renee, aged 36, Michael Moore, aged 42 and Shannon Moore, aged just 17. All of the barking dogs were also killed in the shooting.

Guzzo was said by people in the community to be a quiet and unassuming person who lived without incident in the area before his violent shooting rampage.

Donald McKenzie, one of the neighbors told reporters: “I’ve seen him every morning – come in quiet every morning. Never would expect him to be the guy who did this at all.”

Even though members of the local community were shocked by the shooting they said that they were away of previous altercations between Guzzo and the Moore family over their dogs.

Two of the victims were found dead on their patio and the other two inside the residence. Witnesses said that Guzzo then strolled through the complex with the shotgun “thrown over his shoulder.”

When SWAT teams arrived at Guzzo’s apartment they needed to gain entry through a locked steel security door. When they entered they found him dead on the floor.

Is is not clear whether Guzzo suffered a mental incident at the time leading up to the shooting or if he simply snapped from one bark too many.
