World’s Tallest Man Says At His Wedding ‘Could Not Find Girl Of My Size’ [Watch]

Sultan Kosen, the world’s tallest man, got married to Merve Dibo, 20, on Saturday in his native Turkey. He stands at the unbelievable height of eight feet and three inches ( 2.51 meters).

The new Mrs Kosen is two feet seven inches shorter (78 cm) and barely reaches up to his waist.

Kosun said that, as the world’s tallest man, it had been difficult for him to find a girl suitable for his size. So, it seems that he just gave up on that idea, and looked for love at any size.

Happily, he found it, “I’m thrilled to have found the person for me,” he told Metro at his wedding. The groom said it was the “happiest day ever,” after previously giving up hope of finding love.

“It was unfortunate that I could not find a suitable girl of my own size. But now I will have my own family and private life,” he added. The world’s tallest man has to have all of his clothes made specially for him, and he ordered a custom-made suit and size 28 shoes for his special day.

Sulten Kosen is only one of 10 people known to have grown over eight feet tall.

He became the tallest man in the world in 2009, and finally stopped growing two years later, He suffers from a condition called pituitary gigantism.

Gigantism is usually caused by a tumor on the pituitary gland of the brain. It causes growth of the hands, face, and feet. In some cases, the condition can be passed on genetically through a mutated gene.

The tallest man ever known to have lived was an Illinois resident Robert Wadlow, who died in 1940. He was taller than the present worlds’s tallest man by an additional eight inches (20 cm).

So, while Sulten Kosen may not be the tallest man in recorded history, he only missed the title by eight inches.

Doubtless, this new bride will be quite happy with the person she married and we wish them well.
