‘The Voice’ Echoes: Briana Cuoco’s Departure And Other Knockouts [VIDEO]

The Voice aired its first episode of knockouts Monday night, with a knockout punch thrown between judges.

In its fifth Season The Voice features judges Adam Levine of Maroon 5, CeeLo Green, Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera, The Voice’s original panel. It is the first season to feature steals in the knockout rounds.

So what happened in Monday night’s first episode of knockouts on The Voice? Briana Cuoco, sister to Kaley of The Big Bang Theory, sang her last song on The Voice. Cuoco, who sang a somber rendition of No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak,” was matched up by coach Shelton against Shelbie Z. doing Carrie Underwood’s “Last Name.” Aguilera complained of “pitch problems” with her voice. Green wanted more “enthusiasm.” Shelton, who stole Cuoco in episode 7 of The Voice, was the harshest critic of all.

“It’s one thing to look down the road and make your decision based on what you think can happen with somebody,” Shelton said. “It’s another thing when somebody flat-out outsings the other, and that’s what I feel like has happened here.”

“I am so sad to be leaving The Voice, but it’s been a really great opportunity,” Cuoco said.

Sister Kaley had some words for Shelton on Twitter on Briana’s ouster from The Voice.

The Voice, which was beat out in the ratings by the premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., had more in store, though. When Aguilera, in her first season back on The Voice, picked Josh Logan over Amber Nicole, Green and Shelton both swooped in for the steal.

“There are so many artists just like her on your team,” Shelton told Green. “There is nobody even near what you do on my team,” he told Amber Nicole.

“You’re right. There is no talent on your team,” Green zinged back.

Levine, who, along with Shelton, has judged each season of The Voice, chimed in.

“I love watching when CeeLo and Blake fight, [it] warms my heart,” Levine said
