Kelly Rowland’s Estranged Father Wants To Reunite After 25 Years

Kelly Rowland has not seen her father, Christopher Lovett, in several dozen years, however, that fact may soon change.

Her aging father, 67, recently revealed that he has been trying over the years to reconnect with his daughter. Kelly’s mother left Lovett because he was abusing alcohol and causing problems.

Lovett has now revealed, “I couldn’t control it. I hoped I could make it up to her. But I’m still waiting for that day.”

Kelly Rowland’s father says he is a recovering alcoholic who just wants the chance to speak with his daughter for the first time since she was a child. He claims that for years he would see Rowland on TV or the cover of a magazine and then contact the publisher or producers to ask for contact information. Unfortunately, his attempts to locate and speak to his daughter fell on deaf ears.

“So many previous years have passed and I’m getting old,” he said. “I just pray she comes back into my life before it’s too late.”

The 32-year-old singer has said over the years that she would welcome the chance to reconnect with her estranged father one day. In an interview she revealed, “I do have a desire to speak to him. But I have to be ready when I make that decision, and I don’t want to hurry myself. I’ve been without him for more than 20 years.”

The singer, who is currently attempting to regain her former popularity, has not commented on her fathers attempts to reconnect after several dozen years apart.
