Tamba Hali Leaves $1000 Tip For Fogo De Chao Staff

Tamba Hali made the staff at Fogo de Chao pretty happy after the Kansas City Chiefs victory over the Houston Texans. The linebacker left the staff a $1000 tip.

Hali and some of his teammates, friends, and family members headed to the restaurant after the Chiefs extended their win streak to 7 on Sunday night. The linebacker and his defensive buddies ran up a $1,530.40 bill during their dining experience.

The restaurant added on 16% gratuity to the bill bringing the total up to $1827.09. But Hali wasn’t satisfied with the $296 tip so he added another $1000 to it. Yep, Hali left a $1296.69 tip on a $1,530.40 bill.

Joshua Roan, a server at the restaurant, told Yahoo Sports: “It made our day. Hands down, it made our day… The staff was over the top. He was the last guest in the building. There was a lot of shouting and hollering after he left. We had to wait until he left. We had to keep it professional.”

Hali told KCTV5 that the attention he’s getting for his generous tip is making him a little uncomfortable. Still, the Chiefs defender said that he was happy to give back.

Hali said: “I have been helped all my life to this point. However, I can give back I try to do that… I do this all the time when I go out because these people work hard. I’m just fortunate to be in this position.”

Roan said that Hali is a regular customer at the restaurant and that he hopes that Hali keeps coming back. Not for the generous tip but because the Chiefs keep on winning.

Roan said: “I think you should keep coming here. It’s a good thing because you’re winning.”
