Driver's Salaries In F1

However, the point of contention in the list published by Forbes is the money made by Hamilton's teammate George Russell. Russell earned a measly $10 million in comparison to Hamilton's $55 million.

Russell's salary was $3 million and got $7 million in bonuses. He has been performing fantastically this season and is in fourth place in the driver's championship.

The disparity in their pay is stark, especially when you consider that Hamilton has only managed to be in 6th place in the driver's championship this season.

Lewis Hamilton And His F1 Season

Mercedes have struggled to get things right this season, and Hamilton has faced the brunt of this. After being minutes away from winning the driver's championship last season, Hamilton has failed to keep up his performance.

It'll be interesting to see if he can bounce back next season, but this season is turning out to be more forgettable than ever for the Merc.
