Ryan Reynolds was forced to strip off and swap shirts on a flight from New York City after a passenger vomited on the actor mid-flight.
Reynolds was on the airplane with his wife, fellow actor, Blake Lively, when the bizarre incident occurred. Reynolds is believed to have been vomited on by an inebriated passenger, who mistook him for either a sick-bag or toilet.
The incident occurred on October 13, when the 36-year-old Reynolds was flying alongside his 26-year-old wife on a Delta Airlines flight which left from New York City’s La Guardia Airport, and was headed for New Orleans.
RadarOnline.com went on to report that Reynolds and Lively were sat in seat 2D, which was next to a window, when the ordeal began.
A source stated, “About two-thirds of the way into the flight, a young lady in front of him in 1D vomited toward her window, which then spewed back all over Ryan’s beige cashmere sweater. She had clearly had too much to drink, causing her to be sick.”
They then added, “The vomit looked like it was largely made up of red wine, and it made a huge stain on Ryan’s sweater. So he took it off!”
Reynolds hunky physique is one of the main reasons for the Canadian actor’s recent Hollywood rise, which has seen him appear in Blade: Trinity, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Smokin Aces, The Proposal, R.I.P.D, and The Change-Up.
The insider went on to note that various flight attendants soon started to buzz around Reynolds, handing napkins to the actor which he then used to clean himself with. However, they went on to add that they were also seen to be laughing at the scenario.
When Reynolds and Lively finally landed in Louisiana, Reynolds and Lively looked to leave the airport as quickly as possible.
The source then went on to note, “They tried to pretend like nothing happened. The vomiting was quiet, and I think they were all going to try to just hide what happened, but the smell was rancid! Also, you couldn’t help but notice Ryan taking off his shirt.”
Reynolds is currently in New Orleans to shoot, Selfless, which is directed by Tarsem Singh, and is written by David and Alex Pastor. Reynolds will star alongside Ben Kingsley and Matthew Goode in the film.
Selfless sees a dying wealthy pensioner transplant his consciousness into a younger individual, but it goes wrong when the corpse than he now calls home used to belong to a murder victim.
