Man Riding Motorcycle Films Car Hitting Him, Helmet Cam YouTube Video Goes Viral [Video]

A man whose YouTube account is called “legitimate business man” certainly has a viral video on his hands. Called “The death of my D675 and birth of my Ninja skills: Idiot cager blows red light,” the YouTube video showing the man getting hit by a car as he proceeds into an intersection after the light turns green has received nearly one million views since being published on January 30. It’s a point-of-view YouTube video that puts viewers in the driver’s seat with the man on the motorcycle, showing him waiting patiently and looking from left to right until the light turns from red to green. Suddenly, as the motorcycle rider takes off into the intersection, a car crashes into him on the left — and the video shows the motorcycle man’s feet as they swing in the air and he lands on the ground.

Beneath the now-viral YouTube video, the man on the motorcycle uses motorcycle-speak to describe how some “Cager” — which is the word Urban Dictionary says motorcyclists used for “caged” drivers of cars and other vehicles — hit him, but his “ATGAT” (All The Gear All The Time) philosophy saved his life.

“This happened to me on 1/28/2015 as I left my parking garage to head home from work. I had just turned my helmet camera on (Contour ROAM) which is the starting point of this video. Cager clearly blows his red light and hits me in the intersection. My heavily customized 2011 Daytona 675 is destroyed in an instant but I manage to land on my feet. ATGAT saved me from severe injuries as I walked away with only bumps and bruises.”

Also going viral is the Imgur up-close photos titled “Death of my D675 Birth of Ninja Skills Aftermath” by jaffejoffer, a set of pics uploaded 23 hours ago, on January 3. In that time, the 24 images have gained 25,558 views. As explained by the motorcycle man, those photos were uploaded as further proof of the damage done to his bike.

“Update 1/30/2015: For the people doubting the authenticity of the video, check out the aftermath pictures I just uploaded to expose you for the trolls you are. Please keep in mind these are NSFL [Not Safe For Life — thanks again, Urban Dictionary] for anyone who loves motorcycles. The images at the following link show very up close, graphic motorcycle damage – you’ve been warned.”

Already, sites like Mashable have picked up on the popular video of the motorcycle man getting hit and being able to stand up on his feet afterward as folks gather round to make sure he’s okay. This viral video is getting almost as much attention as Super Bowl ads released on YouTube recently, like the one where a woman pretends to order a pizza but calls 911 instead, as reported by the Inquisitr.
