Cat Hit By Car Rises From The Dead, Shows Up At Neighbor’s Yard Five Days After It Was Buried

Cats, they say, have nine lives. This one, however, almost ran out of his ninth – and is on its way to live its 10th, in all likelihood. Say hello to Bart, the miracle cat from Florida. In fact, you should not be saying hello to him in the first place because he was supposed to be dead.

That’s right, Bart was dead – and was buried by his owner last week after he was hit by a car, reports ABC 7 News. Like most pet owners, the owner was mourning the loss of his beloved pet when on the fifth day after his “death,” the owner, to his shock, found his cat standing outside his front door! The owner’s neighbor was with Bart and told the owner that he found the cat wandering on his lawn. Bart had cheated death in probably the most incredible manner. He walked out alive out of his own grave!

It is now thought that Bart was not dead, but simply knocked unconscious after he had an accident with a car. When he regained consciousness, he found himself buried underground. Now, the bad-ass animal that he is, he simply clawed out of his own grave and walked away to freedom!

In a statement issued to ABC 7, The Humane Society of Tampa Bay said,

“After Bart was hit by a car, the cat appeared to be lifeless and the owner buried him. Five days later, the cat showed up in a neighbors yard, alive! He had dug himself out of the grave and slowly made his way back home, albeit in weak, dehydrated and in need of medical attention.”

While Bart the cat had made it alive, his condition was not all rosy. The cat had several wounds to his face, had broke his jaw, and one of his eyes was damaged. Bart does have a difficult time ahead because of his broken jaw, which does not allow him to eat since he is in constant pain. He is, however, expected to survive, and will be back with his owner soon, says the New York Post.

Bart the miracle cat rises from dead

Bart’s owner is unable to afford his veterinary treatment, and for the same reason the animal has been taken to the Humane Society where it is being cared for. Bart underwent surgery a few hours ago to fix his broken jaw and is responding well to treatment. Vets also plan to insert a temporary feeding tube so that he receives ample nutrition and food without exerting pressure on his damaged jaw. Authorities also plan to remove the damaged eye from his body.

While the Inquisitr has in the past reported about several miracle cats surviving unlikely events, like falling off a high rise building and surviving, Bart’s feat of digging out of his own grave makes them all look silly, doesn’t it?
