Microsoft let it leak on Monday that a Zune HD 64GB version is on the way. There’s still no pricing at this time, but what we do know is that Dell dropped the price of the 32GB version to $199 which may leave a bit of play for the 64GB version to come in around that capacities original pricing.

Rumors had been pointing to a 64GB model for quite a while now, however that release was held back for unknown reasons, which Electronista believes may have been related to cost and pricing factors.

Microsoft admittedly is a little late to the game with the Apple iPod 64GB version arriving almost one year ago, although that option was rather pricey and iPod’s still do not offer the 720p video playback featured on the Zune HD.

Despite claims, the Zune has never really played off Apple devices to grab their market share, they offer their very own distinct interfaces, features, applications, etc. So regardless of their lateness to the game, Microsoft should be able to move quite a few units.

Microsoft has announced that their official Twitter App for the Zune HD will be available at 9AM on Thursday for download.

The new Zune HD Twitter App is 100% free to download via PC or  through a Zune HD wireless connections and it will be available to all users.

The app features all of the major functions found on Twitter including follow/unfollow functions, tweeting, timeline navigation and everything else you’d expect from a top notch mobile Twitter program, all with the glory of OLED output which may prove once again how obsessive some Tweeters really are when it comes to sharing every stupid detail about their lives.

A recent Zune HD Marketplace pamphlet being passed around by BostonPocketPC shows off not only software, tv shows and music download options, but also HD Movies.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to most Microsoft Xbox 360 users who have been told HD Movies were on the way, however the fact that the Zune Marketplace may receive those movies more quickly than Xbox 360 users may come as a little bit of a shock.

The pamphlet was also provided during recent Best Buy demos which means it’s probably real.  If that information is in fact correct it should mean that the option to purchase HD Movies will soon be available via the Zune 4.0 software upgrade.

One of the most talked about and often rumor filled devices of 2009, the Microsoft Zune HD, is finally getting reading to hit store shelves on September 15th, now you can officially get in line with the companies pre-order page.

The Zune HD will be offered in 16GB ($219.99) and 32GB  ($289.99) capacities and will mark the first time that the device offers a touchscreen display. Customers looking to pre-order can pick up the 16GB version in black and the 32GB in Platinum.
