Zach Galifianakis quit drinking after a wild night in which he stood face-to-face with two giant men who delivered swift justice to the actor for dinging up their car.

The star of The Hangover told the story of how he quit drinking at an appearance on Conan on Wednesday. Galifianakis said that he was crossing the street after a night of some heavy whiskey drinking when he had a lapse in judgement and clocked the hood of a Jaguar.

Unfortunately for Zach, the men inside the car were “two 6-foot-6 guys — 12-by-12.” They were angry enough to exit the car and confront the actor and comedian, spitting in his face.

“I don’t know if you’ve ever been spit in your face, non-sexually…” Galifianakis joked to Conan.

There could be other factors behind Zach Galifianakis’ decision to quit drinking. Last August the actor settled down, marrying girlfriend Quinn Lundberg.

The two wed in a quiet ceremony that included some famous guests, including The Hangover co-stars Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms.

Galifianakis had been quietly dating Lundberg for at least two years before the wedding. The couple remained underneath the radar, getting engaged in June 2012 with little fanfare. While Galifianakis is a boisterous character in his movies, he’s said to live a simpler life away from the big screen, spending much time in his home state of North Carolina.

Zach Galifianakis also quits drinking just as the finale to his movie trilogy about heavy drinking is about to be released. The Hangover 3, the final part of a saga about a group of hard-drinking and forgetful friends, is set for release May 24.

This installation of the series looks to follow the same theme of the first two, with the group of friends getting into drunken hijinks, this time back in Las Vegas. Only a few superficial details appear to set this apart from the first two.

The promotional material for The Hangover 3 promises:

“This time, there’s no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.”

As the movie trilogy comes to an end, it seems a fitting time that Zach Galifianakis quits drinking.

The guys from The Hangover are back, and this time their problems don’t seem to stem from a night forgotten. In fact, director Todd Phillips confirmed it himself when he said the group are “not trying to remember anything” for the last Hangover film.

This means Doug, Phil, Alan, and Stu presumably don’t have an all-night bender in this film and no subsequent hangover. So where do all their problems from The Hangover Part III stem from? Well, it looks like the guys are coming full circle if the newly released clip is enough evidence.

In the clip Phil [Bradley Cooper] declares, “Chow is a cancer!” Of course, he’s referring to Ken Jeong’s hilarious character Mr. Chow, who has caused utter chaos in the group’s lives because of his reckless behavior that leads to the group’s inclusion. Like always it seems that his motto to cheat death or actually die trying stays true in this final film.

Like the usual formula, the group’s problems seem to go from bad to worse as soon as Chow enters the picture. As seen in the clip, to the horror of Stu, Alan receives an e-mail from Chow stating, “it feels good to be out” (we’re assuming prison?) and will be in touch with Alan.

For the last film Ken Jeong’s role has been expanded. In the trailer we see a bit of Chow involved in cockfighting, which is sure to cause at least some hysteria. According to a recent interview most of the plot involves the gang on a manhunt to find his character. Of his role in the film Jeong said:

“I think Chow’s evolution has become from kind of an antagonist or villain in the first one into maybe a friend in the second one. I just love– In this movie you’re going to see different layers of Chow. And it’s become a fully realized and layered character. ”

The Hangover Part III just landed a new TV spot.

The Hangover was a comedy which helped launch the careers of Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis by asking the question of how messed up can things get when you’re too drunk to remember. It basically took the concept of Dude, Where’s My Car? and put a more serious story behind it, and didn’t rely on two guys making goofy faces the entire time, something that Dumb and Dumber did better.

The second Hangover film basically did the same thing all over again, but put the characters in Thailand with a monkey after a pre-wedding brunch gone awry.  This time there’s no wedding and no bachelor party.

The Hangover 3 TV spot begins with one of the guys proclaiming, “This is the worst place on Earth.”

Another guy replies, “I know, right? So many good memories.”

Phil, Stu and Alan are seen walking through a posh casino as we see snippets of Vegas scenery, and then stopping to admire some of it.

The text zooms in on the screen, “On May 24,” before Alan (Zach Galifianakis) is seen delivering a nut shot to a suit of armor with a big hammer. Phil (Bradley Cooper) gives us his famous grin as Alan drives along in a convertible and yells, “My life is great!”

The text says, “Go back.”

Someone says, “Is that Chow?” We see Ken Jeong flying along in a parachute and laughing.

Then we see Heather Graham saying, “Oh my God, you guys!”

The text says, “To where it all began.”

Phil says, “You ready to do this?” on the roof of a white building before we hear someone confirming he’s ready and a bunch of tied up towels fly off the roof. Alan starts climbing down the towels and they come loose from where they’re tied. He falls straight on top of the sign for Ceasar’s Palace.

Stu (Ed Helms) looks up and says, “Oh God.”

The Hangover 3 will hit theaters on May 24, 2013, and, in anticipation of that release, the film’s first official HD movie trailer has debuted.

According to the films synopsis: ”This time, there’s no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.”

The Hangover 3 is once again directed and written by Todd Phillips with a screenplay writing credit for Craig Mazin.

The movie stars Hangover regulars Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, and Ed Helms.

Also appearing for the third time will be Mike Tyson, who once again plays himself. Other notables include Jeffrey Tambor as Sid Garner, Mike Epps as Black Doug, John Goodman (unnamed character), Heather Graham as Jade, and others. Goodman’s character is expected to be an antagonist in the same vein as Paul Giamatti’s character in The Hangover: Part II.

Expected to take on an expanded role is comedian Ken Jeong. It was first reported in July 2012 that Jeong agreed to expand his Mr. Chow role for the third installment. 

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard from The Hangover 3. The movie’s producers recently revealed a movie poster that parody’s the final Harry Potter movie:

Two new images for The Hangover Part III have been released and they show the wolfpack in all of their glory, plus Ken Jeong’s Leslie Chow wearing a Stetson.

The Hangover Part III is yet to release a trailer, but the plot for the film is beginning to slowly unravel as we’ve had numerous images dissect. It would now appear that Jeong’s Chow is going to play a large part in the third instalment to the series, so expect him to have a lot of screen time.

All that we know about The Hangover Part III is that there will be no wedding involved in this edition, that the wolfpack decide to reunite at Alan’s request, and decide to visit Las Vegas again.

Director Todd Phillips has also revealed that the comedy will focus on Galifianakis’ Alan, and will examine how he gets over his father’s death. Jeong, Justin Bartha, Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper, Jamie Chung, Heather Graham, and Mike Tyson will each reprise their roles.

Most excitingly, John Goodman has revealed that he will also be starring in the film and will be playing, “a guy who likes to kill people and dress in track clothes.”

In September, the plot for the movie was released, and it read, “This time, there’s no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.”

Anyone who’s a fan of funny man Zach Galifianakis knows that the man has a Funny or Die talk show, in which he interviews actors of high prestige and asks them inappropriate, or just straight up strange questions.

Since it’s Oscar season, Zach Galifianakis took his show Between Two Ferns to the next level by hosting a special Oscar edition. Among the people he interviews are Oscar hopefuls Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lawrence, Naomi Watts, Christoph Waltz and Amy Adams. The actors sit down one on one with Galifianakis for one of the most awkward line of questioning known to man.

Galifianakis described this edition of Between Two Ferns as, “A special Oscar insight to Oscar nominees and all of their Oscar buzzness around them.” In true fashion Jennifer Lawrence was game to play along, telling the host “you shouldn’t eat any more pudding,” which just creates more buzz for the actress, who has been seen as Oscar’s Miss Congeniality all through awards. Noticeably missing from this panel is Jessica Chastain who will go head to head with Lawrence for Best Actress.

Also missing from the panel is Joaquin Phoenix, who earlier in the year called the awards “bullsh*t.” It’s safe to say that if Between Two Ferns got a hold of him we might have been looking at a sequel to his performance art film I’m Still Here. Too bad, as that interview would have gone leaps and bounds in awkwardness, making probably the most interesting, and humorous conquests on Zach’s chopping block.

Zach Galifianakis Manages To ‘Annoy’ Oscar Actresses Jennifer Lawrence And Anne Hathaway is a post from: The Inquisitr

HBO’s comedy series Bored to Death may be getting turned into a feature film.

According to Deadline, HBO Films has a Bored to Death theatrical film in development. The series, which ran for 24 episodes over three seasons, became a cult hit, but never really saw mainstream success. The series starred Jason Schwartzman as Jonathan Ames, a Brooklyn-based author turned private detective, Zach Galifianakis as Ray Hueston, a comic book artist, and Ted Danson as George Christopher, editor of the fictitious Edition magazine.

The film will feature the same characters, and Schwartzman, Galifianakis, and Danson have all expressed their interest in reprising their roles. However, the film is in very early stages, so there are no deals in place to bring them back just yet.

Bored to Death was created by author Jonathan Ames, who will executive produce the film with Sarah Condon and Stephanie Davis, both of whom executive produced a number of episodes for the series. The show premiered on September 29, 2009 and was canceled on December 20, 2011.

Rumors that the series could be revived as a movie began last year. At the Monte Carlo Television Festival, Danson told a French journalist that there was a good chance a 90-minute movie would be developed. It wasn’t the first time the network had considered bringing a series back in film form, as there were also talks to bring back Deadwood and Carnivale.

For now, there is no timetable set for when the Bored to Death film will be released.

The first official images from director Todd Phillips’ comedy The Hangover Part III have finally arrived online.

The folks at Entertainment Weekly managed to get their hands on the initial batch of images from the upcoming sequel before anyone else.

The first picture in the series features Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms, Justin Bartha, and Bradley Cooper crossing the street in an Abbey Road-style pose. The Wolfpack, it would seem, has been reassembled for another outing.

The second image is of Hangover co-star Ken Jeong as a law enforcement officer with a penchant for large guns and mirrored sunglasses. Todd Phillips explained Jeong’s character will be “much darker” in the next installment.

According to Collider, The Hangover Part III is rumored to be the final installment of the series. Should the movie shatter box office records and win over the majority of critics, I wouldn’t be surprised if Phillips and company went back to this well for another drink.

As far as the plot is concerned, Phillips said the film will be centered around the character famously portrayed by comedian Zach Galifianakis.

“[This] is Alan’s story,” the director told EW. “He’s going through a crisis after the death of his father, [and] the Wolfpack is all he has.”

Phillips added that the movie should be “a fitting end to this three-part opera of mayhem and bad decisions.”

Although the flick wasn’t nearly as well received as the original, The Hangover Part II still managed to clean up at the US box office. According to Box Office Mojo, the picture fetched an impressive $254 million. Worldwide, the sequel made approximately $581 million during its theatrical run.

Like it or not, production has commenced on The Hangover 3, the latest installment in director Todd Phillips’ money-making franchise. According to About.com, the whole cast is set to return, including a few faces you may remember from the original film. What’s more, Phillips and company are tweaking a formula a bit, which may please critics of the sequel.

One of the biggest criticisms that plagued The Hangover 2 was the lack of originality. Instead of heading off in a slightly different direction, Phillips decided to use the same old formula. For many critics, this was extremely disappointing. However, this didn’t seem to effect the film’s box office performance in the least; to date, the film has grossed nearly $254 million in North America. Worldwide total: $581 million. Bad reviews didn’t hurt that thing at all.

According to the folks at Geek Tyrant, the plot has been described as follows:

“This time, there’s no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.”

Could this be another road trip movie for Todd Phillips? The director tackled a similar premise with his 2010 comedy Due Date, which starred Robert Downey Jr., Michelle Monaghan, and Hangover funnyman Zach Galifianakis.

In addition to stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, and Justin Bartha, The Hangover 3 will see the return of Ken Jeong, Heather Graham, Jeffrey Tambor, Gillian Vigman, Sasha Barrese, and Jamie Chung. If you still need an extra dash of cool, frequent Coen brothers collaborator John Goodman will make an appearance, as well.

According to Coming Soon, the film was co-written by Craig Mazin, the man responsible for helping out with The Hangover 2. At present, Warner Bros. is scheduled to release The Hangover 3 into North American theaters on May 24, 2013.

Getting Morgan Freeman to do books on tape is pretty much a given here, but what would happen if Morgan Freeman read low-brow (albeit popular) suburban housewife porn like Fifty Shades of Grey?

Now we’re pretty sure you walked into this article full of curiosity matched only by your very strong opinions about the runaway best-selling Twilight fan-fiction by author E.L. James. “We all know it’s literary crap,” writes Nokyoung Xayasane at Twirlit. “But wait, if anyone can bring this piece of cow dung to its greatest heights, surely it would be Morgan Freeman.”

Can it be so?

Sadly, we’ll probably never know for sure. Yes, this is the part where we admit that it’s not actually Morgan Freeman of The Dark Knight Rises and Bruce Almighty fame teasing the words of Fifty Shades into literary vibrancy with his soothing baritone voice. Instead, it’s Family Guyvoice actor Josh Robert Thompson, who has done this sort of thing before on the show. Still, it beats the attempt made by Will Ferrell & Zach Galifianakis, right? Zach Galifianakis and Quinn Lundberg are the newest couple to enter the bond of marriage, according to Yahoo News.  The couple reportedly went to Canada for their rehearsal dinner at Vancouver’s Stanley Park and then had a huge bash at a nearby country club.  They picked Canada for their nuptials because Lundberg is Canadian.

A handful of celebrity guests were on hand to watch Galifianakis, best known for his antics in The Hangover, tie the knot.  The guest list included comedian Sarah Silverman and Patton Oswalt.  Hangover co-stars Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms were also on hand.

Galifianakis has discreetly dated Lundberg for at least two years. In June, the couple were reportedly engaged, but then it was confirmed when on of their wedding invitations leaked out to the press.  While Galifianakis is a boisterous character in his movies, he tends to lead a quiet life when not on the silver screen. The couple live in Brooklyn and North Carolina, Galifianakis’ home state.

Galifianakis told Rolling stone back in June that he thinks his fiance is just the coolest person in the world.  Lundberg is also used to the spotlight as she used to make her living as a ballerina.

While there are few details of the event, it makes one wonder how the bachelor party took place.  It is possible that the Wolf Pack got together and ran around Canada in a drug induced haze with no memory of what transpired.  It could be the story line for the newly announced filming of The Hangover 3.  Or it could be that Galifianakis had a quiet day filled with happiness and genuflection.  The world may never know.

The engagement of Zach Galifianakis came as a bit of a surprise, but what about his wedding? Reports are saying that the funnyman tied the knot in Canada with fiancee Quinn Lundberg over the weekend.

According to MSN’s Wonderwall, Zach Galifianakis is now a happily married man, having quietly tied the knot with Lundberg in Vancouver on Saturday. The 42-year-old comedian’s wedding to his 29-year-old fiancee was apparently short and sweet: “The wedding ceremony was held at UBC Farm at 4 p.m.,” the source says. “It was super-private and intimate and only lasted about 30 minutes. Everyone was out by 5 p.m.” Awful lot of detail for a simple spate of celebrity gossip.

The two newlyweds then held their reception at a local restaurant, according to the source. Galifianakis and Lundberg (who is the co-founder of the charity Growing Voices) sent out invitations to their wedding in late June.

This is the first marriage for Galifianakis, and he is apparently quite taken with his new wife, telling Rolling Stone “Quinn is the coolest,” back in 2011. “The coolest.”

Of course, media-heads are spinning. “Zach Galifianakis makes sure to keep everyone on their toes,” quipped E!, also reporting a rumored guest list of Sarah Silverman, Patton Oswalt, and Hangover co-stars Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper. “The paparazzi are suffering a media hangover,” noted People, who also posted a Galifianakis quote about what might be next for the actor and his new wife: “I’ve been wanting kids for 10 years,” the actor told Rolling Stone. “I’d love to adopt, have them naturally – all of it. I want, like, 15.”

Of course, if Galifianakis is able to maintain his media privacy, we won’t know about little ones until they magically appear at the premiere of The Hangover reboot (featuring Galifianakis in a nod/homage/cameo of some sort).

Zach Galifianakis: comedian, actor, musician, weather man? Believe it or not, yes, Galifianakis can indeed add that tag to his resume after stopping in at a local Philadelphia news station and doing the weather.

Just another day in the life of one of America’s funniest comics.

Zach Galifianakis stopped by Philadelphia’s CBS local affiliate CBS 3 Tuesday alongside Will Ferrell to promote their new film The Campaign on the set of Talk Philly. In an impromptu move, Galifianakis assisted CBS 3 anchor Katie Fehlinger with the weather report. Of course, Galifianakis was in standard funny-man-form, reports Philly. Ferrell apparently chose to sit this one out – after all, he has plenty of anchor experience already, doesn’t he?

Galifianakis and Ferrell are currently on a “campaign” trail of their own, working an 11-stop promotional tour for The Campaign, which hits theaters on August 10th. Most recently, the duo were in Toronto, where they reportedly rode a Zamboni to the Hockey Hall of Fame, and were awarded “Rob Ford for Mayor” buttons, according to Yahoo!News.

“Gotta give magnets everywhere you go…Gotta knock on doors. Don’t stop meeting people, shaking hands,” Ford advised the fictional politicians. “Just keep going hard…And return people’s phone calls. Customer service is number one.”

The Campaign had its red carpet premiere in Toronto on Monday, due for wide release next week.

The “Craigslist Joe” documentary was created to determine if it is possible to live solely on the generosity of others for an entire month. Actor Zach Galifianakis produced the Craigslist focused film, which will be released on August 2. Throughout the documentary Joe Garner must rely only on the Craigslist digital classifieds website for food, a place to sleep, personal hygiene and companionship. Garner was given no money or credit cards to use during the filming of the “Craigslist Joe” documentary and had to survive on either posted freebies or the bartering of his services.

The Galifianakis documentary sought not only to entertain through a quirky subject but to gather a glimpse into the collective American psyche, according to details posted on the documentary’s website. Garner referred to the experience of living for a month on the charity and goodwill of others to “looking for alms in America’s new town square.” Both the producer and Garner wanted to discover if America would “help Joe” during the 31 days he volunteered to live without money or the assistance of friends and family.

Viewers will follow Garner’s path as he encountered a host of unique situations and individuals. The “Craiglist Joe” documentary was filmed in 2009 and evolves around the rebuilding of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, the war in Iraq and the economic downturn in America, The Blaze reports. Although the documentary focuses on the ability to survive without money in our modern society, Garner also infuses his own observations about his exchanges with others and muses about the direction nation is headed.

Comedian Zach Galifianakis, 42, star of The Hangover, is set to marry in August.

Celebuzz reports that Zach Galifianakis has proposed to and plans to wed girlfriend Quinn Lundberg, and that the pair have already sent out wedding invites.

In fact, one spy for the site claims to have spied the comic’s wedding invitations, and says that they’re exactly what you’d expect from Zach Galifianakis- the blog explains:

“’The wedding invite is very Zach… While it has the formal and standard details of who, what, when, where – including Zach’s full name Zachary Knight Galifianakis and his fianceé’s Mary Quinn Lundberg – it is also very funny.

“’Zach included a drawing of himself and his bride-to-be. He made sure he looked like a little troll, while Quinn is a stunning tall blonde princess.’”

According to the post, Galifianakis and Lundberg split their time between his North Carolina home and Hollywood, and it also explains that Lundberg is a pretty interesting lady, and not one to spend her days on GTL.

While Zach is off filming blockbusters, former ballerina Lundberg — who as a CUNY degree in International Conflict Resolution — is Vice President at the charity she co-founded, Growing Voices. Growing Voices is an outfit that creates a direct dialogue between givers and recipients, and focuses on reconstruction projects in the developing world.

The showbiz spy reports that the couple’s registry for the wedding is slim, and that aside from a set of sheets from Anthropologie, the pair ask guests to donate to the charity. Celebuzz also reports that Zach Galifianakis vocally opposed Mel Gibson’s inclusion on the second Hangover film due to his work with the organization to help domestic violence survivors close to his home in North Carolina.

Zach Galifiankis has become the mildly awkward and extremely funny comedic actor that has found himself in the middle of some rather interesting roles.

However, it is in his oldest mini-series “Between Two Ferns”, that the actor gets to truly showcase his uncomfortable brand of comedy to those willing enough to get a little awkward.

Beginning in a small shed in Hollywood, Galifianakis and co-creator Scoot Aukerman were originally attempting to create a pilot for a comedy sketch that never actually made it to television.

What developed out of this failed pilot was an underground comedy sketch that has reached between 5-10 million views per episode on the site, funnyordie.com.

At it’s roots, “Between Two Ferns” takes your unsuspecting celebrity and attempts to do a mocking interview, mixed in with name mispronunciations, horrid movie recaps, and demeaning personal experiences.

“The uncomfortableness of it all, he just revels in that kind of environment,” says Scott Aukerman.

Now, “Between Two Ferns” has taken it to the next level as they are scheduled to debut a 30-mintue special on Comedy Central, May 13th at 8:30 EST.

The previously online only show will serve as a introductory segment to the channel’s second annual Comedy Awards and will feature the likes of Jon Stewart, Tina Fey, and Richard Branson.

Galifianakis tells AP that the show is to be modeled after Barbara Walters’ pre-Oscars interview shows, and appropriately titled “Between Two Ferns: A Fairytale of New York”.

“We wanted to mock the celebrity obsession that is so annoyingly present in our culture,” says Galifianakis. “No one worships that more than Barbara Walters.”

As far as the celebrities are concerned, everything will be a shock to them.

“The guests have no idea what is about to happen next — that is the one thing we can say,” says Aukerman, who directed and co-produced the series, as well as Sunday’s special. “The guests are not prepped on what’s going to happen.”

Well, this kinda sucks.

HBO has announced its newly-axed programs, the shows that won’t be coming back for another season on the successful yet sometimes capricious network. (Case in point: ask any Deadwood fan how they feel about HBO’s cancellation policies, or talk to any adherent of Bret and Jemaine from Flight of the Conchords.) Perhaps the network is a bit like Trader Joe’s in ruthlessly cutting beloved items to make way for newer, possibly more appreciable titles, but the propensity for snipping shows means that oftentimes, some wheat seems to go with the chaff.

So it is a bummer if not totally surprising that two HBO shows which seemed to be doing pretty okay fell on the wrong side of the cable network’s big swinging axe- the hipster mystery hit Bored to Death, and the male prostitute dramedy Hung. The former stars Zach Galifianakis, Jason Schwartzman and Ted Danson as a bromantic team that’s markedly more sensitive and less misogynistic than the dudes on Entourage, and the latter features Thomas Jane and Anne Heche in a depressed Detroit where a male teacher must turn to prostitution to make ends meet.

Also on the 86 list for HBO was the New York-based How to Make it in America, which won’t be returning for another season. It’s notably all the cuts were shows that ran for about half an hour, whereas the more popular hour-long shows including Boardwalk Empire and True Blood- both with huge followings- remain intact.

In a surprise move, one of the network’s less buzzed-about shows, the cancer dramedy Enlightened, starring Laura Dern, was also picked up for a new season. Will you miss Bored to Death, Hung or How to Make it in America?

Jeff Bridges is currently working with executives at Universal Pictures to secure a role in the upcoming movie R.I.P.D.

The Robert Schwentke directed movie was suppose to star Zach Galifianakis however Deadline.com reports that due to an option Warner Bros. holds with Ryan Reynolds for a second Green Lantern movie Galifianakis exited the project over uncertainty of when the production would begin, leading the way for Bridges to begin talks with the studio.

Bridges is also in the process of preparing for his role in the Warner Bros/Legendary Pictures movie The Seventh Son.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes for R.I.P.D. to head into production considering that all of the actors being lined up for the movie have other projects already prepared to begin or possibly beginning in the near future.
