The upcoming Brad Pitt zombie flick World War Z will have a few scenes removed prior to its release in China.

Executives at Paramount approved the removal of a scene that suggests the zombie outbreak began in China. Since the studio is interested in showing the movie in the country’s theaters, the potentially offensive scene was cut from the feature.

Since China has a quota on the number of Hollywood movies it will show in theaters, the removal of the scene from World War Z increases the likelihood of the film being screened in the market. An insider close the production told The Wrap that another country will be singled out as the culprit.

“It’s not a huge plot point. But it’s safe to say [they're] going to want a release there,” the source explained.

This isn’t the first A-list Hollywood movie to have scenes removed in order to play in China. Andy and Lana Wachowski’s Cloud Atlas had several straight and gay sex scenes cut before it arrived in Chinese theaters. Around 20 minutes worth of footage was excised from the film.

The James Bond flick Skyfall also had footage removed prior to screening in China. A scene where a Chinese bodyguard is shot was edited from the film. References to Chinese officials torturing British agents was also cut from the feature.

Marvel Studios recently announced that Iron Man 3 would get exclusive footage for its release in China later this year. The Chinese version of Shane Black’s superhero sequel will include more footage featuring actor Wang Xueqi.

The edition of Iron Man 3 released in China will also see the addition of popular actress Fan Bingbing. Her character will be exclusive to this particular cut of the movie. It’s unclear if the footage will be contained on home video releases of the sequel.

The upcoming Brad Pitt flick casts the actor as a father who is forced to contend with a zombie apocalypse. The film had a very storied production on its way to the big screen.

Director Marc Foster has been discussing his work on the upcoming zombie action adventure, World War Z.

Despite having a hoard of production problems throughout its shoot, footage has now emerged of the film and it looks incredibly impressive.

Brad Pitt stars as Gerry Lane, who, along with his with Karen, played by Mireille Enos and their two children, is caught out when a wave of zombies attack Philadelphia in the middle of rush hour.

World War Z appears to be an intense zombie tale as it only takes 12 second for someone bitten to turn into a member of the undead, whilst the creatures are much quicker and agile than previous incarnations.

Lane is then ordered to help travel the globe in search of the reasons for why this epidemic started.

Foster was asked if he thought production had been troubled or rushed, to which he responded, “I wouldn’t say it was rushed into production, it’s not the right way to talk about it. We were developing the script and when you’re developing a film on a massive scale from scratch, on these productions you’re never completely prepared because you can prep the movie for a year and still come up with things.”

He then proclaimed that the movies’ shoot had actually been a success, stating, “We finished the film on time, we didn’t go over schedule, so that’s a sign for me that we were on time in that sense, and that’s usually a sing that things are out of control.”

However he did conceded that there were problems with the film’s conclusion, stating, “We re-created the ending, but everything else worked.”

Foster also remarked that he has attempted to bring a unique stance to the genre, and that he as tried not to copy the filmmakers who have come before him.

World War Z has got a brand new poster that shows off just why the zombies in this movie are terrifying. The poster comes on the same day when a new trailer was leaked and made the web before Paramount studios could pull it back.

The movie studio is apparently looking to officially release that new trailer at midnight tonight, but enough people jumped the gun that several sites were able to grab the video before it could be pulled off of YouTube.

That trailer seemed to give us quite a bit more insight into how the world is attempting to deal with the zombie issue.

World War Z stars Brad Pitt as United Nations employee Gerry Lane. After getting his family out of a city that was in the crosshairs of the zombie plague Lane sets out to find a way to stop the decimation of the entire human race.

The mistake surrounding the release of the new trailer is just the latest in a series of gaffes and bad press for a movie that has angered some fans of the original book.

That book centered around people talking about how they dealt with the zombie plague and how the world was going to heal itself now that the threat was almost entirely ended.

One of the incidents of bad press came along when reports surfaced that Pitt was refusing to have any contact with the director of the film.

The new poster seems to be a concerted effort to turn the press and the fans around on this film which certainly shows zombies in a way we haven’t really seen before.

28 Days Later and the new Dawn of the Dead both featured fast running zombies (though 28 Days Later didn’t really have zombies) but the creatures in this movie take on a brand new aspect.

The poster shows a horde of zombies basically just crawling over each other, to the point where they basically form a giant pile or hill. They use this technique, almost assuredly without meaning to to reach objects that should be safe from their reach.

Exhibit one of that is the helicopter the zombies are clearly bringing down.

World War Z is due out in theaters on June 21 after originally being slated as a Christmas 2012 movie.

World War Z had its second trailer surface online this weekend, but Paramount Studios seems to be trying to stop this second trailer from getting out just yet. The video has been pulled from YouTube, likely because the video went public a little earlier than they expected.

This new trailer has quite a few shots from the first Super Bowl trailer, but also sheds quite a bit more light into what Brad Pitt’s character has to go through in order to try and save his family and the world.

World War Z has had its fair share of problems making it to the movie theaters. There were rumors that the film’s star, Brad Pitt was having a feud with the director of the film back in June but the studio was able to overcome those issues and the movie is on track to be released on June 21st.

In the new trailer, we get to see how the zombie apocalypse will even affect trying to get away from these breed of always running monsters. One scene shows Pitt’s character on an airplane when the zombies stage a blitz attack that rips the emergency exit open.

This particular trailer seems to be quite a bit better than the one they did release back in February. Alongside the airplane scene, it seems as if Russia might be playing a rather large part in how the world is going to stop the problem.

The movie has also been met with quite a bit of anger because the movie is named after a book that has taken the point of view of telling the tale after the zombie outbreak has been contained. There is less action and more explanation in the book and the fanbase isn’t particularly happy that the main plot points were changed so drastically.

Are you stumped with what to get your loved one for Valentine’s Day? Do you want to veer from the typical red roses and baby’s-breath bouquet and candy tradition? If your sweet Valentine is an aficionado of the undead genre perhaps you should contact Phillip Blackman. He’s a special effects illustrator from Sussex, England who has taken up building and selling garishly ghoulish zombie teddy bears.

Blackman, 45, has made and sold more than 30 bears over the last several weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day. Still, he’s finding it difficult to meet the overwhelming demand for the twisted teddies he calls Undead Teds. Zombie enthusiasts worldwide are trying to get their hands on one.

“I can’t make them fast enough,” he said. “Lots and lots of people are clamoring for more … The zombie thing seems to be hitting the spot. Then when you combine that with the teddies, and who doesn’t love a teddy, people seem to go crazy for them. You know, there are always people who like the macabre. ”

The exsanguinated, eviscerated bears can sell for anywhere between $70 and $140. Ebay auction bids for one of his most recent hideous decomposing creations reached nearly $400.

Blackman recycles the bears from thrift shops and yard sales. It takes about two days to demonize the otherwise innocent looking stuffed animal into a rib and teeth baring bloody bear carcass.

Blackman, a fan of George Romero, used his theatrical special effects make-up skills to render hand-sculpted protruding bones and teeth, and lifelike organs from polymers and latex.

With the resurgence of zombie popularity, depicted on television in shows like The Walking Dead, the post-apocalyptic drama based off the same name graphic novel series by Robert Kirkman, and the upcoming film World War Z, the genre is especially hot right now.

People can be fanatical, which is what Blackman is banking on for the time being. However, he is currently not intending to expand the business of nightmarish stuffed animals much further beyond meeting limited demand, but hopes the exposure will aid him in his illustrating career.

The Super Bowl trailer for the Brad Pitt flick World War Z gives moviegoers a quick look at all sorts of zombie apocalypse-related mayhem.

Although the clip shows a number of horrifying scenarios, viewers really don’t get a good look at what Pitt and his co-stars are up against. Since the movie’s release date is still a ways off, the studio is probably keeping that particular reveal for another trailer.

The film’s plot has been described as follows:

“The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.”

World War Z is based on book by author Max Brooks. Although many fans were initially looking forward to the adaptation, rumors that the story had been overhauled for the big screen left many wondering how faithful it would be the novel.

According to Yahoo! News, the film’s production was littered with problems. In addition to running way over budget, the film had several of its props seized by Hungary’s Anti-Terrorism Unit back in 2011. When the film finally hits theaters, the movie’s budget will have swelled to well over $200 million.

The movie’s production has also taken a toll on the relationship between director Marc Foster and star Brad Pitt. The Inquisitr previously reported that the two have not been on speaking terms because of the problems which arose on the set of the zombie flick.

The creators behind the embattled zombie video game The War Z have reportedly had their trademark suspended by the United States government.

If these rumors are to be believed, then the folks at Hammerpoint Interactive have faced yet another setback regarding their highly-anticipated undead shooter. According to Joystiq, the game’s trademark has been suspended due to the similarities between it and an upcoming Brad Pitt movie.

Since Paramount Pictures feels The War Z is a little too close to its forthcoming summer flick World War Z, the US Patent and Trademark Office has reportedly suspended the trademark. This could ultimately force Hammerpoint to change the name of its latest creation.

However, War Z creator Sergey Titov reached out to Kotaku to set the record straight. According to him, the trademark for the same has not been suspended by anyone.

Titov told the website:

“This is our actual trademark. I assume what you see is one of the preliminary applications since it said that it suspended because other application exist.”

However, a trip to the War Z application at the US Patent and Trademark Office website reveals that the trademark has been suspended by the organization. The date stamped on the application is November 15, 2012. The site even includes the complete suspension letter issued to Hammerpoint Interactive.

Titov told Kotaku that he intends to investigate the matter shortly. An updated response to the trademark suspension rumor is expected after the game’s creator conducts his own investigation into the matter.

News of The War Z’s troubles at the patent office arrive just days after the game was yanked from Steam following complaints that the title failed to deliver the features it promised. Titov told PC Gamer that the whole snafu was likely a simple miscommunication.

The developer said of Steam’s decision:

“Yes, we think this is the best way to serve their customers and we respect their decision. As you know we’ve been publicly available since October 15. Over that time I think we got used to and took it for granted that players knew what state the game was in and how it was a constantly evolving project, with new features being added on and ongoing basis.”

Brad Pitt has a habit of killing people with kindness.

According to TODAY, the ever-so-generous actor, who was filming his upcoming film World War Z in London on Thanksgiving, donated $1,100 to Southhampton Hospital’s neonatal unit in Dorset, England.

According to the BBC, Pitt made the on-the-spot donation when Tricia Wilson-Hughes, a woman who was raising money for the neonatal unit where a friend’s baby was treated, was collecting money from the movie’s film crew on behalf of the medical facility.

Hughes said that she was worried that the filming might impact the fundraising event on Saturday and wanted to see if the actor could help. She said:

“I wasn’t too bothered if I didn’t see Brad Pitt… [but] I felt I had to do something for the charity.”

Hughes approached Pitt’s security guard to see if he would be willing to pitch in a few bucks. The guard then proceeded to make his way over to ask Pitt, then returned minutes later with the his generous contribution.

Hughes told the BBC said:

“I couldn’t believe it, I was completely dumbstruck. He said if he had more he would have given it. I said honestly that is more than enough, but if he wants to do anything in the future that is absolutely fine. You hear negative stories about A-listers but I won’t hear a wrong word against him, I am in awe of him.”

Pitt’s security guard said that the actor was planning to hold his own whip round of the crew and send a donation to the hospital from Los Angeles.

Brad and Angelina are in England with their large family, but, instead of acting like A-list celebrities, the clan has been blending in nicely to the quiet country life, locals report.

While aerial photos recently released of the couple’s California mansion looks like a small village itself, in the UK the family is keeping it more modest. Brad and Angelina are staying in England in a luxury converted barn in the village of Ickham, maintaining a low profile as they took a day trip to Waterstones bookshop in Canterbury and a family outing to the Howletts Wild Animal Park.

While Brad and Angelina are in England they are making sure to spend some quality family time, People reported. The parents sat down with their six children to write letters to Santa. The family then hand-delivered the notes to St. Nick in the village of Littlebourne in Kent.

“It was so cute. All the children sent messages to Father Christmas and were absolutely beautifully behaved,” Littlebourne post office assistant Fiona Lindsay told People. “Just like any other kids in a sweet shop they were excited, but Angelina controlled them perfectly.”

The family has been acting the part of the average Brit while they’re staying in England, the Belfast Telegraph noted.

“I suggested they pop over to the fish and chip shop across the road as it is a shame to come to England and not have some,” Lindsay said. “I just hoped they liked them!”

World War Z just released its first official trailer and judging by the sheer amount of destruction in the film it looks to be next years big hit when it debuts on June 21, 2013.

The zombie apocalypse thriller stars Brad Pitt as a United States employee with a special set of skills that may be able to stop the attack.

If the movies name sounds familiar that’s because it is based on the book of the same name by author Max Brooks.

Pay close attention to the Zombie’s in this flick and you’ll notice that they don’t move slow like past zombie flicks. In fact the creepiest moment might be when the viewer realizes the zombies move like a swarm of bees ready to attack everything in their path.

Visual special effects supervisor John Nelson tells Entertainment Weekly:

“They are like predatory animals that can’t control themselves. I worked with tigers [while shooting 'Gladiator'], and if you watch them when a horse goes by they go batty, even if they know they can’t reach it. When Zs see humans they do same thing, they activate. They activate. They launch themselves.”

The move is directed by Marc Forster who is best known for the James Bond flick Quantum of Solace and his brilliant Finding Neverland.

World War Z will feature Brad Pitt battling zombies this upcoming summer in this action horror flick. Based upon Max Brooks‘ apocalyptic novel of the same name, Brad Pitt plays Gerry Lane of the United Nations who is traveling the world in search of the origins of the zombie pandemic.

Entertainment Weekly managed to interview visual effects supervisor John Nelson.

“They are like predatory animals that can’t control themselves,” John Nelson said about the zombies. “I worked with tigers [while shooting Gladiator], and if you watch them when a horse goes by they go batty, even if they know they can’t reach it. When Zs see humans they do same thing, they activate. They launch themselves.”

The goal is for the film’s zombies to be unique by making them more “predatory.”

“Everyone has seen everything in this genre,” Nelson said. “So of course we looked to try to find something new. And we have some.”

The design teams used real-life predators for conceiving their new version of the pop culture zombie.

“[Our zombies] move like birds or school of fish, too, in reactive formations, and it’s not because they have a higher level of [shared] thinking or communication – it’s about their nature and the fact that their instinct to infect is so basic, efficient, and overpowering,” Nelson explained. “They will go through anything. If they lose both legs, they will walk on their hands. They lock in and they’re like salmon going upstream or sperm swimming to be the first to egg.”

If World War Z does well at the box office it may be turned into a trilogy in order to finish the entire story of the novel. But Entertainment Weekly has insights on the challenges World War Z will face in meeting this goal.

“First the $180 million project will have to overcome a bumpy production that already has vultures circling overhead. Filming began in summer of 2011 with an eye toward a release this holiday season, but as weeks became months the disagreements grew between director Marc Forster (Finding Neverland) and producer-star Pitt. Earlier this year, the December release date was tossed out the window, and in the summer, the third act of Matthew Carnahan’s script got the same sort of farewell fling. Despite the third act footage that was already in the can, Prometheus writer Damon Lindelof was brought in to write a new ending — both literally and figuratively — for the venture. Of course, the new scenes and re-shoots pushed the film costs up as well, putting more pressure on all involved…”

The trailer for Marc Foster’s World War Z starring Brad Pitt has finally made its way online, according to E! Online. The film is slated for release next year.

The upcoming motion picture is based on author Max Brooks’ faux history of a zombie apocalypse that grips the world. While folks have been singing the book’s praises for years, the movie has been a source of great anxiety for hardcore fans. Multiple re-shoots, changes to the story, and numerous production problems suggest the film could be in serious trouble.

In the film, Brad Pitt stars as journalist who is charged with covering the zombie outbreak. In order to stop the apocalypse from spreading to every single corner of the globe, Bitt embarks on a quest to stop the ghouls from taking over.

In addition to Pitt, the film stars The Killing alum Mireille Enos, Anthony Mackie, and Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston. While the film may have had some trouble during production, the trailer doesn’t look all that bad. You can find the clip embedded below.

According to Word and Film, fans of book have taken issue with the fact that neither Brad Pitt nor the plot exist in the original story. This has caused many people to turn their nose up at the upcoming cinematic adaptation. What’s more, zombie aficionados have taken issue with the film’s “running zombies.”

Visual effects supervisor John Nelson, who also did work for Iron Man, likens the film’s undead to those found in director Zack Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead remake. Instead of shambling around, these zombies have a tendency to charge after their fleeing prey.

The long-awaited film adaptation of World War Z has struggled through production, which is set to become all the more hindered in light of recent reports. Rumor has it, Brad Pitt is no longer speaking with the film’s director, Marc Forster.

The rumor goes like this: Apparently, 48-year-old Pitt, whose Plan B production company is behind the World War Z adaptation, is not on speaking terms with director Marc Forster, even though his company lobbied to get Forster in the director’s chair, reports Us Weekly. So what happened? Sources say merely that the falling-out comes thanks to a “combination of scheduling, script, and directorial problems,” and that, “Things got so bad that when Forster had notes on a scene for Pitt, they had to be relayed through an intermediary — and vice versa,” reports the Huffington Post.

This isn’t even the latest problem for World War Z. Taking cues from the legendarily grueling production of Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now, to say the film is struggling is an understatement. It’s release date got pushed from December to June 2013 for starters. Then, LOST‘s Damon Lindelof was reportedly brought in at the start of June to re-write the ending, precluding several weeks of re-shoots to take place in the fall. Then Cabin in the Woods‘ Drew Goddard came in for re-writes. Lindelof returned to assist, but remarked that “the script needed months of work, not days.”

Christopher McQuarrie might get a shot at a re-write soon as well, reports Perez Hilton.

If you don’t recognize the name of director Marc Forster, you might remember his last big-screen blockbuster, Quantum of Solace, otherwise known as “The Bond-flick that was alright, but not nearly as good as Casino Royale.” That was another rushed and troubled production, and boy did it show in the final film. “On ‘Quantum’ we were f-cked,” Bond star Daniel Craig recalled about the film. “We had the bare bones of a script and then there was a writers’ strike and there was nothing we could do. We couldn’t employ a writer to finish it.”

So is World War Z “f-cked” as well? Should Brad Pitt just hang it up?

Brad Pitt has high hopes for his new zombie movie but production on World War Z has apparently turned into a “total nightmare.”

Pitt, who is producing as well as starring in the new movie, has apparently ordered several reshoots and is planning on rewriting the ending of the movie. According to Canoe, screenwriter Damon Lindelof has been called into to rewrite the script and director Marc Forster has planned several weeks of reshoots.

The movie was scheduled to be released this December but Pitt and the other executives have pushed the release date back to next Summer so that they can fix the movie.

Paramount film group president Adam Goodman said:

“The footage from this film looks fantastic, but we all agreed it can have a better ending. Getting the ending correct is essential, and we are in that creative process. World War Z is a giant summer movie and we are confident it will be a global hit when it’s released June 2013.”

One source close to the production of World War Z said: “It’s a nightmare from top to bottom.”

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Pitt was able to hire the director of his choice, Marc Forster, to helm the new zombie movie. Forster wasn’t, however, allowed to bring his usual team with him. Instead, Forster was surrounded by seasoned, but unfamiliar, faces. Forster also isn’t too experienced with big budget special effect movies. This, according to a source, has caused constant bickering on the set.

“The director was not empowered…. There was nobody that steered the ship. … When you get [a director] who can’t do it all … you get a struggle as to whose is the singular voice. They just couldn’t get it right. There was a lot of spinning of plates, a lot of talking. [But] they did not have a plan.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the movie’s budget is now north of $170 million and at least 5 weeks of reshoots will be needed to complete the film.

World War Z has been having problems since production began, which was made evident earlier this year when a Hungarian anti-terrorism unit raided a warehouse and confiscated 85 fully functional automatic assault rifles. Pitt was reportedly furious with the crew for making the mistake of purchasing real guns.

Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman will fly into the town of North Berwick next month to shoot scenes for a new film. Though the stars are familiar to all, the town itself is only just now becoming famous for its involvement in the pictures. Though several high profile films have shot in the East Lothian town lately, the citizens are still giddy-as-a-schoolgirl at the prospects of a new film, with one citizen saying, “Anything that puts North Berwick on the map will be a good thing.”

North Berwick is a quaint, picturesque Scottish town. It seems like a far cry from anything Hollywood, and even if you did film there, think indie and offbeat over A-list and expensive. Still, Oscar winners Firth and Kidman will be there to film The Railway Man, the story of Edinburgh-born prisoner of war Eric Lomax. The small town is becoming quite a film star in its own right, having hosted crews for Brad Pitt’s zombie flick World War Z, Scarlett Johansson’s sci-fi horror Under The Skin, and even the newest Daniel Craig Bond film, Skyfall.

The Railway Man will shoot in Tantallon Terrace and Port Seton from May 13-18. Though humble and easygoing, the townsfolk embrace the Hollywood hubbub and the coming arrival of both Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman. John Skillen, the 49-year-old manager at the town’s Sweet News newsagent said that, “It will certainly raise the profile of the town. This is a tourism place and a holiday resort so the boost will be good.” 52-year-old Irene Steel, manager at the County Hotel feels that, “This is really good news for North Berwick – it makes the town buzz a wee bit and makes it a bit more exciting. It will really help put the town on the map.”

Colin Firth plays Eric Lomax, a real-life figure whose 1980 memoir inspired the film. The Railway Man is the story of Lomax, who served in World War II as a British army signals officer and was captured in Singapore in 1942. He was then sent to Japan’s infamous Changi prisoner-of-war camp. Lomax, alongside thousands of other Allied prisoners, endured torture and was forced to work on the construction of the so-called “Death Railway” between Thailand and Burma.

There has been a lot of unwanted action on the set of Brad Pitt’s new movie World War Z. Last month Pitt had to rescue an extra who almost got trampled by zombies, and this weekend an anti-terroist unit raided the movie’s warehouse and confiscated more than 85 weapons.

And this isn’t just some crazy mishap where authorities thought the movie props were real guns. No, the guns that were confiscated by the Hungarian anti-terrorism unit were fully functional. The Huffington Post notes that some were even loaded.

Hajdu Janos, the director of Hungary’s Anti-Terrorism Unit, told US Weekly:

“Guns like these are highly illegal to transport even if they were to used as stage guns, which hopefully they weren’t.”

The magazine reports that the SWAT team raided a Budapest warehouse that housed weapons for the movie on Monday. Most of the weapons confiscated were automatic, military-style assault rifles.

A source from the movie said that the guns were delivered without the consent of the Anti-Terrorism Unit and that the guns came with paperwork saying that they were non-functional guns.

Janos said that they are currently interrogating personnel to get to the bottom of the incident.

Brad Pitt, whose company Plan B Entertainment is producing World War Z, is supposedly furious over the incident. World War Z is already over budget and behind schedule. The movie is expected to be released this December.

As fans of Max Brooks’ modern zombie classic World War Z await the film adaptation eagerly, shooting continues in Glasgow on the flick.

And if you’re one of the zombie-lovers excited to see the movie version of bestseller- an undead epic set after a worldwide pandemic of walking dead- then you probably know it stars Brad Pitt. Pitt’s role in the film isn’t very clearly defined to fans yet, but the actor did get to play a hero recently while crew shot scenes for World War Z in Scotland.

During filming in George’s Square in Glasgow, an extra- one of 700- was knocked to the ground during a melee. And quite like the stampedes you might see in a zombie flick, the woman was nearly trampled by her hundreds of co-stars. Although the woman didn’t get to spend too long with Pitt, he did manage to pick her up and dust her off after she was knocked to the ground in the chaos:

“Lots of people hurt themselves, and Brad came to the rescue of a woman who slipped,” an insider told the paper. “I don’t think she could believe it when Brad picked her up.

“He didn’t have time to speak to her as it was mid-shoot. But she said afterwards how grateful she was, despite having a badly grazed knee.”

The scene being shot was an “epic battle scene,” with hundreds of cast and crew milling about during filming. The film’s staff have since briefly paused filming to carry out a “safety talk,” as a few of the extras suffered minor abrasions during the incident.

The ever-popular zombie genre’s reigning favorite book is set to be a box office hit, it seems, as Brad Pitt has committed to starring in the novel’s big screen adaptation.

World War Z is unique in its execution as a novel that presents a zombie apocalypse in war movie style vignettes, and along with author Max Brooks’s The Zombie Survival Guide, it has been massively successful within the zombie genre. (The Zombie Survival Guide is also being adapted as a film.) Brooks spoke to MTV about the film at Comic-Con:

Brooks said the studio recently received a new draft of the “World War Z” script, and “Quantum of Solace” director Marc Forster is still attached to direct the film.

“I’m glad they took their time, and are trying to make the best zombie movie they can,” said Brooks. “I’m so glad they stayed with the project and so glad they found the right team.”

Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment is producing the film, and a summer 2012 release is expected.

“Changeling” scribe J. Michael Straczynski is writing the screenplay, and Brad Pitt’s Plan B is producing, according to Variety.

World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War is a novel by Max Brooks (son of Mel Brooks) which chronicles a fictional zombie apocalypse, specifically the titular “Zombie World War”, as a series of after-the-fact oral history interviews with prominent survivors.
