2010′s Sexiest Woman in the World as voted on by Esquire, Christina Hendricks, has expressed interest in expanding her fan base to adoring tweens and comic book fan-boys.

Henricks, 36, recently gushed to Access Hollywood‘s Billy Bush about a role she’d like to sink her teeth into- Wonder Woman. (A page for a projected 2015 Hendricks-led edition film edition of Wonder Woman is already up over on iMDB.) The buxom Mad Men star has said that should her Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn have the opportunity to make the film a reality, she’d jump at a chance to star.

A film version of Wonder Woman has long been a dream for fans, but Wikipedia says the project has been stuck in “development hell” in the very early stages for years. The most recent attempt to revive the Wonder Woman franchise occurred for TV this year, but fan hopes were spectacularly dashed when NBC passed on the show’s pilot back in May.

Still, as Hendricks illustrates, there is lots of interest in bringing the character back – she says:

“I think [Nicolas] thinks I would be good in that role… I loved working with Nicolas so much, he’s such an incredibly talented director. If he gets to direct ‘Wonder Woman,’ then I would love to do it with him.”

The aborted NBC pilot was directed by David E. Kelley and starred Adrienne Palnicki as Wonder Woman. Hendricks is up next in the Sarah Jessica Parker-led film I Don’t Know How She Does It, out later this week in theaters nationwide.

There’s no denying it — General Motors’ Pontiac Deluxe Six sedan looks fantastic. Not only is the car constructed from Plexiglas, but it has white rubber wheels! How do you drive around and not dirty those wheels up? But in all seriousness, the 1939 Pontiac was was made to be the main attraction at the New York World’s Fair primarily to show off the engineering wonders of an automobile innards.

In the years following its display in New York, the “Ghost Car” made its way to the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. where it sat for eight years before disappearing into the garages of private collectors in the ’80s.

After viewing the pilot episode of David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman reboot NBC executives have decided to pass on the show.

Entertainment Weekly on Friday said:

“Warner Bros. TV may try to shop the pilot elsewhere. But who would take a gamble on a pilot that NBC rejected?”

The show gained national attention when Adrianne Palick showed off her Wonder Woman outfit (pictured above), a “sexier” version of the outfit Lynda Carter wore during her run on the original ’70s series.

Aside from executive producers hating the show it also received less than stellar reviews from focus groups.

Even Elizabeth Hurley couldn’t save the series and I have to agree with Entertainment Weekly if NBC didn’t want it who exactly would.

I just finished watching this and all I can say is – Wow!

Rumors doing the rounds at the moment have Transformers star Megan Fox taking the role of Wonder Woman in the forthcoming Justice League Of America. There’s even a convincing poster showing Fox in the role (above), but it’s a clever fake. Warner Bros has officially denied reports of Fox taking the role.

Another Megan though is staring: Australian supermodel Megan Gale. While we sympathize with fans wanting to see Fox in the role, Megan Gale FTW.

Beyonce– or do I mean Sasha Fierce?– has admitted that she’s ready to take on a challenge of epic proportions. She wants to be the first Wonder Woman to hit the big screen, and she’s already met with reps from Warner Bros. and DC Comics to express her interest (and get an edge on the competition).

“I want to do a superhero movie and what would be better than Wonder Woman? It would be great. And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It’s time for that, right?”

After playing parts like Deena Jones in Dreamgirls and Etta James Cadillac Records, she said that “[T]hese roles that were so emotional I was thinking to myself, ‘OK, I need to be a superhero.’” If you’re not following the logic, don’t worry: Beyonce explained that, um, it has something to do with emotion. . . and an “action element.” Oh yeah– and the fact that these movies are so incredibly hot right now. Even Kim Kardashian’s after the role!
