The event honoring the year’s biggest television, movie, and music acts – as voted by Nickelodeon viewers – is to take place March 31 at the Galen Center at the University of Southern California.

“How better to celebrate 25 years of Kids’ Choice Awards than with the biggest movie star in the world?” said Marjorie Cohn, President, Original Programming and Development, Nickelodeon Group and an Executive Producer of the show. “Will has enough KCA blimps at home to fill a room, having long been one of kids’ favorites. He’s a larger than life presence who knows how to play big and we’re excited he’ll be taking the stage for the biggest, loudest, messiest spectacle in the show’s 25-year history.”

Last years Kids’ Choice Awards show was hosted by Jack Black and drew 7.3 million viewers, ranking as that week’s top telecast all of TV in kids and tween demos.

The 2012 Kids’ Choice Awards nominees will be announced in February.

Smith, a 10-time Kids’ Choice Blimp Award winner, is best known for his work in “Hitch,” “I Am Legend,” “I, Robot” and the “Men in Black” franchise. He started his career as a rapper, but his popularity increased dramatically when he starred in the sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.”

“The Kids’ Choice Awards are always the year’s liveliest, slimiest and most outrageous party for kids and teens,” Smith told E!online. “I’m honored they wanted me to host this year so I can have a front row seat to take part in the fun.”

Besides hosting award shows and spending time with his musically gifted children, Willow and Jaden, Will Smith is also preparing for the release of “Men In Black III,” slated to hit theaters on May 25, 2012.

Fans of the show Fresh Prince of Bel-Air starring Will Smith might be saddened to learn that the chance of an original cast reunion are nearly set at zero after Janet Hubert fired off some snide comments about Smith earlier in the week.

You may recall that Will Smith and NBC fired Janet after the third season and replaced her Aunt Viv (Vivian Banks) character with Daphne Maxwell Reid.

Apparently 18 years hasn’t let bygones be bygones with Hubert revealing to TMZ,:

“There will never be a reunion … as I will never do anything with an a–hole like Will Smith,” she tells the site. “He is still an egomaniac and has not grown up. This constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn’t know the word.”

To this very day there has been no confirmation that Will Smith was behind the firing after the actress refused to have her show counts cut down and her salary cut in half. Hubert, who was pregnant during her final season has admitted to be “moody” but insists the mood on the set was not very good for anyone.

For his part Will Smith has defended the shows actions in the past while painting Janet Hubert in a negative light:

“I can say straight up that Janet Hubert wanted the show to be The Aunt Viv of Bel-Air Showbecause I know she is going to dog me in the press,” Smith said then. “She has basically gone from a quarter of a million dollars a year to nothing. She’s mad now, but she’s been mad all along. She said once, ‘I’ve been in the business for 10 years and this snotty-nosed punk comes along and gets a show.’ No matter what, to her I’m just the Antichrist.”

This time around it appears on the surface that Will Smith will keep his mouth shut and just allow the entire situation to blow over.

That rough patch Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were rumored to have hit earlier this year is believed to have been caused because of their children.

Specifically TMZ has learned that the power-duo were not able to agree on if and when their children should be given their shot at stardom.

For his part Will Smith wanted the kids to jump right in and establish their acting and singing chops at a young age, while Jada Pinkett believed the children should be allowed to grow up before being thrown into the spotlight and everything it brings with it.

That same source says the couple are doing “wonderful” now and are happy with the way Jaden Smith and Willow Smith have handled their growing celebrity status.

During separation rumors it was believed Jada may have had an affair with Marc Anthony, yet the couple remained strong and in the public spotlight and for all intensive purposes they seem more visible to the public and happy now.

Will Smith’s reps have made no comment regarding the rumor.

A trailer for Men in Black 3 just hit the web, TV, and the PlayStation Network – such is the advantage of being a movie made by Sony Pictures. This generous two-minute set of clips arrives almost six months before the blockbuster hits theaters on May 25, 2012.

Will Smith’s Agent J and Tommy Lee Jones’ Agent K are, predictably, the stars of the trailer. The storyline will involve Smith’s J traveling back in time to meet the younger K. Gizmos and swoopy hi-tech effects take center stage, and it’s already easy to see where the 3D will be slotted in. Alas, there’s no sighting of the wonderful Jemaine Clement – the former Conchord plays baddie Boris.

Josh Brolin will also star in the flick (he plays the younger Agent K), which is directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and written by Ethan Cohen. Chairman of Sony Picture Worldwide Marketing and Distribution Jeff Blake said:

“Everyone at Sony felt that this was a fun and unique opportunity to marshal our forces in an unprecedented way, and it’s exciting to see the entire group of companies flex its marketing muscle in unison. We believe it gives this trailer launch a distinct, compelling and significant impact with moviegoers around the world.”

After a 9-year-hiatus the Men In Black franchise is returning. Will Smith returns as Agent J, while Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin both step into the shoes of Agent K for Men In Black III.

The New York Post reports that the first two installments of the Men In Black franchise took in more than $1 billion at the box office and MIB fans have been waiting patiently for the third installment.

MIB III will center on Will Smith as he searches for his lost alien-busting partner Tommy Lee Jones in order to find out some secret about the universe. Smith has to travel back in time in order to meet up with Jones in the 1960s. The younger version of Agent K is played by Josh Brolin, who co-starred with Jones in No Country for Old Men.

The Washington Post reports that the new Men In Black III trailer is being shown on just about every platform owned by Sony. From websites to PlayStations, to retail stores, and even a Times Square digital billboard in New York city. The new movie will hit theaters over Memorial Day weekend.

Jennifer Aniston has been voted “best body” by a recent Yahoo/Fitness magazine poll which asked readers to vote on their favorite celebrity bods.

A big fan of yoga Aniston edged out Halle Berry with 34% of the vote compared to 28% for Berry.

Aniston also managed to top the poll for the “body men wished their wives or girlfriend had” along with “best body over 40.” As if that wasn’t enough praise for her figure she was also voted “best body part women would like to have” for her abs.

Jennifer was joined on the top 5 list by Beyonce, Kim Kardashian and Blake Lively.

On the men’s side Will Smith beat out Daniel Craigs for the top male body while Aniston’s ex-husband Brad Pitt took the “best male body over 40″ category.

In a press statement released on Tuesday the couples involvement was announced:

The investor group is led by Harris, who will serve as Managing Owner of the 76ers and as the team’s Governor on the NBA Board of Governors. Other investors include David Blitzer, who will serve as Co-Managing Owner and an Alternate Governor of the NBA, CEO Adam Aron who will also serve as an Alternate Governor of the NBA, Martin Geller, David Heller, Travis Hennings, James Lassiter, Marc Leder, Jason Levien, Michael Rubin, Will Smith & Jada Pinkett Smith, Handy Soetedjo, Erick Thohir and Art Wrubel, all of whom have made personal investments in the team.

The group is buying the sports franchise from Comcast which spent a ton of cash acquiring talent, firing coaches with guarantees already in place and trading big superstars for other big superstars, all while failing to turn the team into a championship contender.

While he might not be the big decision maker for the partnership it’s nice to know that a guy with love for the game is getting involved, it has to be a better partnership than Comcast could ever offer.

Actress Jada Pinkett-Smith may not have another season of Hawthorne Heights to head back to but she does have something else to celebrate today, her 40th birthday.

Smith was born in Baltimore in 1971 and married actor Will Smith on December 31, 1997.

In recent months rumors have circulated that an affair was happening between Pinkett and Marc Anthony who celebrated a 43rd birthday of his own on Friday.

Earlier this week Will and Jada were seen at an NFL game, reportedly to quell rumors of the affair.

Despite a slight q-rating boost from rumors stars Jada Pinkett Smith and Marc Anthony were getting hot and heavy between takes, the TNT drama Hawthorne- helmed by Will Smith’s missus- won’t be returning to air after this season.

Pinkett Smith made a web statement today, expressing sadness that the show had been axed but promising fans new projects would be on the horizon. She said:

Hey everyone…if you don’t know Hawthorne will not be returning for another season. I want to say thank you to all the fans for being Hawthorne soldiers. All our facebook fans…twitter soldiers and viewers…you held us down. Of course you know there is more to come…believe it!

TNT confirmed the cancellation a short time later, in a statement that sounds a bit like when reps comment on breakups. The network said:

“TNT has decided not to order a fourth season of HawthoRNe. TNT truly appreciates the tremendous dedication of everyone involved in HawthoRNe. The series gave TNT the opportunity to work with many outstanding people, including Jada Pinkett Smith and the rest of the show’s talented cast, crew, producers and writers. We wish everyone involved with HawthoRNe nothing but the best.”

It’s a bit early to say what’s next for Pinkett Smith after the cancellation of Hawthorne, although the actress is slated to reprise her voice role as the hippopotamus Gloria in the third installment of the popular Madagascar series of animated films. Madagascar 3 is due out in 2012.

As for her relationship with Smith, the pair made a statement last month after the rumors became particularly intense regarding an impending breakup. The Smiths say their relationship is “intact,” and that the rumors were “completely false.”

One of the more rock-solid couples prominent in Hollywood is Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett, whose 14-year-long relationship has lapped the far shorter marriages of many of their contemporaries.

Indeed, both Smith and Pinkett-Smith have gone on record saying divorce will never be on the table in their house. Back in 2008, Smith told Ellen DeGeneres that the pair were dedicated to making their marriage work:

“What I found is divorce just can’t be an option,” Will Smith told Ellen DeGeneres during a May 2008 appearance on “The Elen DeGeneres Show.” “It’s really that simple. And I think that’s the problem with L.A. — there are so many options. So a huge part of the success for [Jada] and I is that we just removed the other options.”

Years earlier, Smith said to a different interviewer that he and his wife had spent “a lot of time studying relationships and why things work and why things don’t work,” and added that married people have ”gotta love every aspect, you’ve gotta love it from every angle.”

However, buzz is circulating that the couple is now calling it quits. On the Red Carpet says that Smith and Pinkett-Smith were last photographed together on a family vacation in late July, and that Will was snapped out in Miami partying recently… without his wedding ring.

Sources close to the couple are denying that the pair have split, but rep for Pinkett-Smith Karynne Tencer, interestingly, said that the actress had “nothing to say right now” about the rumors- while pointedly denying her client had been involved with Marc Anthony. Smith and Pinkett-Smith have two children, Willow and Jaden, and Smith has a son from a previous relationship.

The top requirement the Smith’s demanded while designing the enormous house – home to the couple and their children: Jaden, 13, Willow, 10, and Will’s 18-year-old son from a previous marriage, Trey – was that it appear intimate.

“For Will and me this home was always a spiritual endeavour,” Jada explained in the popular interior design magazine. “We’re very earthy, organic people. We wanted to create a family retreat, something made by hand and as natural as possible, something that ties back to the land. Residents in New York’s SoHo neighborhood aren’t happy with actor Will Smith, more specifically with his two story 1,150 square foot trailer which he has parked right in front of their apartments.

The $2 million trailer, parked on a quiet SoHo block has angered neighbors because of it’s sheer size and the noise it makes.

Smith parked the trailer, which includes a bar, lounge, offices, a movie room and a large granite bedroom and bathroom on the street while filming Men in Black III while he also parked a smaller trailer containing his gym just down the street.

The 30 ton trailer is 53 feet long and requires 22 wheels to transport.

Smith is also renting a 5-bedroom Manhattan apartment at a cost of $25,000 per month.

A SoHo resident told the New York Post:

“How would Will Smith feel if I parked that thing out in front of his house?” and, “People forget that this is a residential neighborhood, not a film lot.”

It’s constantly reported that Will is a nice guy so we’re sure this issue will be resolved shortly, if it hasn’t been already.

Quentin Tarantino wants Will Smith to take the leading role in his upcoming spaghetti Western Django Unchained.

If Smith accepts he would play Django, a freed slave who is trained by a German bounty hunter so she can save his wife from a life of slavery.

For another role Samuel L. Jackson is being named, while Christoph Waltz was confirmed for a role by William Morris Endevor, although he has come out himself and denied any current involvement.

If accepted Jackson would play the role of the head slave to Monsieur Calvin Candie, a slave turned owner’s best asset who would have to face off against Django and Waltz (who would play the German bounty hunter).

Smith is currently filming the sure to be a success Men In Black III and is slated to star alongside son Jaden in an M. Night Shyamalan sci-fi film, which means Tarantino could be quite some time away from filming.

As The Hollywood Reporter points out, the Weinstein Company probably can’t afford a Will Smith size payroll, however many actors have worked with Tarantino for lower than average payouts, just to increase their “cool” factor with audiences. Then again, how much cooler could Will Smith really get.

No formal offer has been made to Will Smith at this time according to one report, while Variety claims an informal offer has been made and that Smith is willing to lower his normal fee to take the role.

Jaden Smith’s role in Karate Kid helped the movie generate more than $150 million in domestic and international ticket sales and while he was only 10 years old at the time of his contract, the young actor earned more than $3 million for his part.

According to the young stars contract he received two payments in the amounts of $900,000 and $100,000 for his role and then another $2 million when the film’s gross hit the $150 million mark.

It should be noted that $3 million is the minimum payout the star will receive thanks to additional in-contract perks that were worked into Smith’s payout.

It’s not Will Smith type cash yet, then again he was only 10 at the time of filming and Jaden is only 12-years-old today.

Jay-Z, head of Roc Nation, confirmed this morning that Willow Smith is the label’s newest artist following the success of her track “Whip My Hair.”

In a statement to AllHipHop.com, Jay-Z explained why the label had chosen Smith:

“We at Roc Nation are excited to work with Willow,” Jay-Z told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “She has an energy and enthusiasm about her music that is truly infectious.  It’s rare to find an artist with such innate talent and creativity at such a young age.  Willow is about to embark on an incredible journey and we look forward to joining her as she grows in all aspects of her career.”

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith also commented on her daughter’s record deal:

Going two for two on the fake celebrity death circuit this weekend comes a new name with an old story: Will Smith dead in a car accident.

Perhaps showing that fake celebrity deaths seriously need some more compelling story lines, the alleged report claims that Will Smith “was driving his Porsche in the Hollywood Hills earlier today when he suddenly lost control and flipped his car.”

The report goes on to say “Paramedics arrived on the scene within minutes but were unable to revive Mr. Smith.”

0/10 for originality on this one. For the record though, Will Smith is not dead, Will Smith has not died in a car accident, and there’s nothing more to be said on the matter.

Which celebrity couple has relenquished control of the family to their offspring? This goes beyond spoiling. They let the child/children make all their own decisions about education, food, clothing, travel, and activities. Before you know it, the kid/kids will be picking the parents’ projects and handling the money. The parents seem to think that the decision-making will result in more self-assured adult/s. However, right now it’s just the tail wagging the dog. Other family members are concerned that some of these decisions may be endangering the health and safety of all involved.

My back-up guesses are the Smiths (as in Will Smith and Jada) or Tom Cruise and the gang. Do you think it could it be the Jolie-Pitt clan, or are you betting on someone else? Do tell!

The 80′s appear to be the new gold mine for lazy studio execs. There is also talk that Zac Effron has signed up to do Footloose and they are remaking Robocop and Red Dawn, oh and Top Gun.

Back to the Karate Kid. Mr Miyagi is rumoured to be played by Martin Lawrence, so I guess he won’t be called Mr Miyagi. The plot stays the same though, bullied kid learns to defend himself via an eccentric mentor. Still, I won’t be considering it a proper remake unless the crane scene is in there.

I guess it is no surprise that Will Smith will be producing the film.
