Funnyman Will Ferrell was in Washington this weekend to receive honors for his comedy prowess, stopping by the Press Briefing Room to pose for pictures with Press Secretary Jay Carney.

Ferrell was in town to accept the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, an award that has been presented annually by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts since 1998. The event- which will air on PBS- happened Sunday, and Paul Rudd, Jack Black, John C. Reilly, Conan O’Brien, Maya Rudolph and Molly Shannon were among the former colleagues and co-stars of Ferrell on hand to honor the improv and film actor. As he posed with the Press Secretary, Ferrell joked, “Jay, why are you forcing me to take a picture? This is all for your benefit!”

Up next, Ferrell is said to be producing a new dating comedy, He’s F*cking Perfect, with Adam McKay. Cinema Blend describes the film, in which Ferrell is expected to star:

He’s F*cking Perfect tells the story of a cynical gal who spends her time using the Internet to evaluate the men her friends date, looking for dark secrets and red flags. Her cold veneer begins to chip when the new guy one of her friends starts dating seems to be perfect… for her. She sets about trying to break the two of them up so she can snatch him up for herself, and pits all her online ninja skills to the task of making herself irresistible to him.

Conan O’Brien’s First Tonight Show Guests will be Will Ferrell and Pearl Jam.

Will Ferrell was a guest on Conan O’Brien in February for his last “Late Night” show in New York and he will be the first guest on O’Brien’s Tonight Show gig in L.A. Pearl Jam will join them, making them the first band on O’Brien’s show. Pearl Jam will be playing songs from their soon to be released studio album.

Conan O’Brien is taking over the Tonight Show as Jay Leno retires as it’s 17 year host. Jay Leno took over the Tonight Show from Johnny Carson.

Will Ferrell’s commercial for his new one-man Broadway show “You’re Welcome America: A Final Night with George W. Bush” has been pulled after “viewers were outraged.” The former Saturday Night Live star was running ads to promote his new project in which he says “If you don’t watch this, you’re a giant D-bag. D stands for ‘douche’” as George W. Bush.

Page Six says that ABC responded to the feedback– “the rules are different in the morning,” they mention– and pulled the advertisement. CBS followed suit, so now Will Ferrell’s updated commercials are a little safer for the “douche”-sensitive.
