Actor and singer/dancer Jamie Foxx has joined the star-studded tribute to Michael Jackson set for this October in Wales.

Foxx joins Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo, Smokey Robinson and Beyonce as confirmed performers at the event. According to TMZ, there was some confusion as to whether Beyonce would actually be present at the event- possible due to her recently announced pregnancy. However, the gossip site confirms that not only will Jamie Foxx be on the roster, but Mrs. Jay-Z will definitely perform as well:

Sources connected to the show tell TMZ … show organizers are pumped up about Beyonce’s performance — and insist she did NOT pull out, despite a report to the contrary.

We’re told B is recording a “unique, never before seen performance” that will be played at the show … just as she committed to do.

The celeb-laden Jackson love fest is eagerly anticipated by pop fans, but like most things surrounding the king of pop, the affair is not without some controversy surrounding it. The Jackson family has reportedly disagreed about whether and when to hold the fete, as the tribute is set to occur at the same time Dr. Conrad Murray- Jackson’s physician- is to be tried for manslaughter in relation to the singer’s death.

While mom Katherine and kids Paris, Blanket and Prince Michael are excited to attend, Michael’s brothers are said to have objected. Last month, a rep for the Jackson kids confirmed they’d be attending:

“Paris, Blanket and Prince have decided to go,” said a spokesman for Jackson’s children. “They are extremely excited and are hoping they will have the opportunity to contribute in some way by making a speech.”

Although it sounds like a plot point from a slapstick comedy, the BBC is reporting on it, so it’s fairly safe to assume that police in Swansea, Wales employed a bouncy castle in an attempt to prevent the suicide of a man threatening to leap from a parking garage.

Local Acting Superintendent Keith Jones told press the bouncy castle was not the only tool in the police’s arsenal to stop the man from plummeting to his potential death. Jones explains:

“The use of the inflatable device was an impromptu idea which came from a local officer, which would have helped to reduce the likelihood of a serious injury should this gentleman have fallen.

“We believe that this is the first time that this method has been used in Swansea and was one of many tactics that were considered in order to resolve the situation.”

The 64-year-old man, however, was talked down from the car park and has been hospitalized. It was not speculated upon whether a standard bounce castle could cushion a fall from several stories, nor was it disclosed whether the man, who was not identified, was asked to remove his shoes first.

Facebook has upset the Welsh by placing a range of Welsh towns in England, including the Welsh capital Cardiff.

Towns that have mysteriously found themselves in England and not Wales include Swansea, Wrexham and Llandrindod Wells, according to the BBC. Over 8,000 Welsh Facebook users (or is that English Facebook users) signed a petition calling on Facebook to move the border back to its historic location in the East.

Facebook has called bug, and promised to rectify the issue.

Wales, located to the North West of England in the United Kingdom, has long been in union with England, having been conquered in the 13th century as part of the Anglo-Norman conquests, and was incorporated as a single entity with England in the 15th century. In more modern times, Wales has been recognized as an entity within the United Kingdom, and has a limited form of self government. Notably, Welsh culture is very distinct from England, and includes its own language, and a Celtic blood line vs the Saxon bloodline most common in England.

Traffic on the A55 Motorway in the north of Wales had come to a halt after sheep escaped from a nearby paddock. Police arrived on the scene shortly after, and attempted to heard the sheep off the motorway. One sheep however made a run for it, and a quick thinking officer tazed the sheep before it fully escaped.

According to local reports, the officers than picked up the now immobile sheep, and dumped its twitchy body on the side of the road, all while being watched by motorists, including at least one small child. Police claimed in a later statement that the sheep wasn’t killed by the 50,000 volts they had shot it with.

Animal rights activists were generally not amused by the incident.
