The site shows Vladimir Putin in all his winter glory, his plastic surgery helping to make him appear the handsome hardman he professes to be. Unfortunately, among the most popular comments he received, in the visitor section of his website, were one by Andrei Antonenko, who wrote: “Leave politics, please. We understand that power is a drug but that would be a dignified act.” A further damning comment said: “At the present moment this step on your part would be the most useful thing you could still do for the country.”

Svetlana Sorokina even warns of an impending revolution: “I suggest you don’t allow the situation to become a revolutionary one and quit the post of prime minister and also withdraw your candidacy from the presidential race.” All very serious stuff for Mr Putin to consider.

Putin did receive positive comments, though, including one from Ekaterina Zvereva who wrote: “I wish you success in the elections! You are the very best person in the world!” Problem is, that comment is so far removed from others that it does look like a member of Vladimir Putin’s staff wrote it. The presidential elections in Russia take place on the 4th of March.

Vladimir Putin loves to stage the most ridiculous promotional shots of himself and this time he’s outdone himself. Putin on August 8, 2011 released footage in which he went “deep sea diving” and discovered treasure. There’s just one problem with the discovery, Putin was only six feet deep and he didn’t discover anything.

According to the New York Times Putin has his people take treasure that was discovered “several weeks or days before” and plant them in six feet deep water so the former/future President of Russia could “discover” them.

This isn’t the first time Vladimir Putin has tried to make himself “bigger than life” by stage fake acts to wow Russian citizens.

According to Putin’s own press secretary:

“Naturally, they either left them there, or they put them there,” while he added, “This is completely normal. It is totally not a pretext for malicious joy and so forth.”

His press secretary says Putin doesn’t hire image consultants or PR professionals to stage his ridiculous exploits, noting:

“Most of the time, he does it himself.”

Do you find Putin’s attempts to be “super human” to be as ridiculous and funny as I do? Politicians in America do the same thing, they just call them “polling results” which provide ridiculous facts based on their “track record.”

The New York Post is reporting that Vladimir Putin’s girlfriend, Russian gymnastics champion Alina Kabaeva, has given birth to Putin’s first son in Moscow.

Kabaeva, 26, has been rumored to be Putin’s main squeeze since her retirement from gymnastics in 2006. (The Post also says Kabaeva won 18 World Championship and 2 Olympic medals, making her the most decorated gymnast in history.) She reportedly named the boy Dimitry. A paper that reported Putin’s split from wife Ludmila last year quickly shuttered, and news of Kabaeva’s having a child nor Dimitry’s “presumed” paternity has not been reported by any major Russian media outlets.

While Putin is careful about information leaks regarding his personal life, an analyst said that the news may not be all that harmful:

“…one analyst told us, “Putin is very careful about his public image. Still, considering Russia’s Muslim population is about 30 million, it might not hurt him politically to have a beautiful, half-Muslim wife.”

Putin was apparently on a tour in a National Park seeing researchers monitor the tigers in the wild when a caged Tiger escaped and decided that the television crew would make a nice meal. Putin grabbed a tranquilizer gun and stopped the Tiger dead in its tracks, later helping measure the tiger’s incisors before placing a satellite transmitter around its neck prior to release.

Local press showed Putin striding through the park in camouflage and desert boots before grappling with the tiger.

For all of the recent criticism of Russia, at least their PM can shoot straight, unlike US Vice President Dick Cheney who famously shot a hunter back in 2006.
