Just stopped by the Vizio Booth that’s near the entrance to the CES show. Their new LCDs, which I spotted with 240Hz, feature Vizio internet connected application with connectivity to popular sites many of us search and use including Twitter, Yahoo News and Rhapsody

The most impressive part of the units however is the bluetooth controller with a slide out qwerty keyboard that can be used to browse the web, bringing a new level of connectivity to their televisions. According to Alan Huang of Vizio, the Bluetooth controller can be used from any room in your home, traveling as far as your network will let it.

Users can even bring up their tweets, messages and @replies right on their TV, ensuring they always stay connected to the newest messages from their friends while tweeting what they think about that new episode of Heroes.

The units also feature built-in 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, bringing top notch connectivity to the users unit.

The units also come equipped a ton of other internet connected info, including access to cast and crew info, reviews, wikipedia info and even the ability to buy movies through Vizio’s Vudu service.

Definitely worth a closer look if your in the market for an internet connected television with crystal clear playback. Great way to start CES 2010.

I’m sitting in the bloggers lounge at this very moment awaiting the start of CES 2010 which begins at 10am Vegas time. On the way through the doors I saw a huge 50 foot Samsung billboard on the side of the Vegas convention center touting their new 3D LED TV, alongside a TON of adverts for HTC.

HTC is so big this year before anyone can even get into the center their already handing out free coffee and providing a free WiFi spot, while the monorail station corridor features HTC adverts all the way up the walls following the stairs and escalators.

Once inside Vizio almost immediately jumps out at visitors with a booth featuring several of their new displays which feature their new internet apps which I’ll get to later during the show.

The energy is great, bloggers are sitting in the lounge furiously typing away and the lounge is offering plenty of coffee and treats to keep us all going throughout the day.

Inquisitr coverage will start in about 30 minutes, stay tuned…

Missed from our earlier round up of Internet enabled television releases at CES was details from budget TV maker Vizio, which isn’t bad because they actually deserve a post by itself.

Vizio, for those not familiar this brand is a budget LCD TV maker that sells primarily in the United States, with some availability in Canada and Japan. It’s also remarkably the largest seller of LCD’s in the United States, ahead of Samsung.

So can a budget TV maker compete with the big guns in internet enabled televisions? In this case, they not only compete they kill.

Here’s the specs.

entertainment, information and social networking content into the viewer’s living room. With unprecedented choice and control of web-based and local content from a wide range of popular content providers and services, including on-demand movies and music, news, weather, sports, gaming and social networking services,

Video
Comes with Amazon, Blockbuster and Netflix video on demand. In negotiations with Hulu for streaming. So not one like many of the others, but all the three major players.

Music
Pandora and Rhapsody, plus support for the Intel Yahoo widget platform

Games
Access to Accedo Broadband’s Funspot service delivering games including Texas Hold ‘Em Poker, Sudoku, and QuizzMaster.

Extras
Flickr support naturally, but here’s the big one: support for Adobe Flash Lite, so developers can build on Flash as well. Widgets in development include CBS, Showtime, Twitter, The New York Times and MySpace.

But Wait, There’s More: a remote with built in Qwerty Keyboard, and it runs on Bluetooth. Very nice along side the 802.11n WiFi.

According to Gizmodo (also image credit) the line up will start in two TVs this fall, eventually expanding to Vizio’s entire XVT line.

Cheap televisions with kick ass internet access. WIN. Now if only they’d make PAL versions so I could import one.
