Balloon boy is so five minutes ago, check out train baby

An Australian mother got the shock of her life as her child’s stroller rolled off a platform onto a train track and into the path of an oncoming train.

CCTV caught the dramatic scene as it unfolded. The mother is seen chasing the runaway pram, which is out of her reach. The stroller tumbles open kid end first onto the track and the train appears to drive over it as the mother flails silently.

Thankfully, the child survived, reportedly with just a bump to the head. Nevertheless, it’s an uncomfortable video to watch.

9 year old’s hockey goal becomes viral hit

9-year-old Oliver Wahlstrom of Maine can add “viral video star” to his list of accomplishments.

Oliver, a forward for the Portland Junior Pirates, scored a goal this weekend at the TD Bank’s Mini 1-on-1 Challenge that would make NHL players envious.

A fan shouted down from the stands to Moore “you got dunked on!”

A YouTube video of a typical NYC street fight earlier this week is making the rounds thanks to Gothamist.

Anyone who has or currently lives in the five boroughs will sympathize with the filmer in that street aggression is, for better or worse, generally a spectator sport- at least for the first 90 seconds. It really does take at least a minute and a half to return to “part of humanity” mode.

So, in the video, a guy hitting up Starbucks on the Lower East Side ends up witnessing some guy get a Kryptonite lock to the proboscis a few times. Check it.

JK Wedding Entrance Dance video is cute, goes viral

A video of a bunch of unrestrained and not really very choreographed dancing during the beginning of a church wedding has gotten a bit of attention on the intertubes this week.

A lot of the commenters didn’t like the irreverance. (Dancing? In a church? OMG!) But frankly, the church is the most painfully boring part of the painfully boring institution that is weddings and there’s only booze if you’re Catholic, and even then everyone backwashed in it. Ew. (For the record I am Catholic, so I am totally allowed to say that.)

So I say fair play to them- Jill and Kevin, I hope you have many happy dancy years ahead of you not taking silly things too seriously. And I hope Wrigley’s sends you all a nice check.

The public service announcements haven’t gone viral but are sitting pretty on 40,000 views on YouTube and are starting to get a fair bit of attention. I’m betting that give or take a couple of weeks that the number of views is going to be closer to 1 million.

Why? “Unexpected Rapper’s Delight is unexpected” was unfunny in The Wedding Singer, why on Earth would it be clever now? And I used to think babies were cute, but now I’m just unsure.

Is Michael Jackson haunting Neverland?

A YouTube video clip of a Larry King Live interview with Jermaine Jackson and footage of Michael Jackson’s beloved home Neverland Ranch has spooked out viewers doing a double take.

The clip appears to show a shadowy figure floating through the frame while capturing footage of the singer’s bedroom area. As it was filmed after Jackson’s death, the image has lead news-hungry fans to wonder if it’s Jackson’s ghost haunting the halls. (I think the only haunting going on here is that of a tortured man’s memory and legacy, even after he’s dead and gone. Now that’s scary.)

So is it Michael? Believers will always believe, but as camera crews were milling about filming, the most likely suspect is a wandering crew member’s less than otherworldly shadow.

Epic Freakout: mom canceled my WoW account!

Witness a grand-mal hissyfit, covertly captured on a webcam by the heartily amused brother of a kid whose mom canceled his World of Warcraft account.

The WoW episode of South Park springs to mind- “How do we kill that which has no life?” An action packed two minutes and seven seconds sees the distraught teen stripping, darting in and out of the closet and unleashing the rage of datelessness onto a poor, innocent duvet. From which he emerges with fewer clothes than he started with.

If it’s real, homeslice needs to go outside and discover boobs, I’m just sayin’.

8th Grader’s unbelievable basketball shot

This kid kicks your honor student’s ass.

In a video that’s quickly making the web rounds, a stunning three-quarter court flip shot is pulled off by Brecksville-Broadview Heights Middle School student Aaron Shutway (some sources say it’s “Aaron Shumway”).

The kid makes the lucky shot from about 60 feet away, across a crowded court full of kids. Then he gets swarmed. Someone’s getting to second base tonight!

Meet ice cream kid, the webs newest and weirdest viral sensation. Ice cream kid likes putting ice cream on his face in front of an audience of millions, in this case anyone watching the recent Brazil-Italy soccer game where the cameras captured the video below.

It’s odd behavior, even for a kid.

Via Gawker, one of the coolest flashmob videos I’ve ever seen.

A large crowd of gold-panted dancers rush a crowded LA boutique and break it down to MC Hammer’s iconic 80s hit “U Can’t Touch This.”

The mob was not spontaneous or grassroots, however- AdRants reports that it was a guerilla marketing tactic to promote A&E’s new show Hammertime, detailing Hammer’s current day to day life.

It’s that time when we start looking back at the good, the bad, and the ugly of the past year. First up, move over, crying Britney dude — 2008 has some new (and slightly less creepy) favorite viral videos.

Online video tracking service TubeMogul released its list of the 10 most popular online videos of the year over at Silicon Alley Insider. The list is said to be based purely on traffic. Here’s the breakdown:
