Last August Miley Cyrus revealed a small tattoo on her finger. Turns out that her former Disney pal Vanessa Hudgens has the same tattoo. Hudgens, who is currently promoting her new movie “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island,” revealed her “Om symbol” tattoo to Access Hollywood.

Hudgens said that she found out about the identical ink at the People’s Choice Awards this year. Hudgens said:

“I got to see Miley that was really nice. We found out that we have the same tattoo… It’s an om [symbol]. She has one right (on her finger.)”

Hudgens said that the symbol helps her spread positive energy and to center herself. Hudgens also said that some people don’t like her tattoo but that she’s proud of her body and her tattoo. Hudgens said:

“My body is my body. I love myself and I think you’ve got to be proud of the body. You have and own it.”

Vanessa Hudgens, best known for her role in the High School Musical films, is reported to be playing a role in an upcoming serial killer thriller alongside Nicolas Cage, called Frozen Ground.

According to a report by Deadline, Frozen Ground tells the true story of Alaska’s most infamous serial killer, Robert Hansen, played by John Cusack. Hudgens will play the role of a victim who manages to escape, after which Cage’s character, a State Trooper who is investigating the case, finds her.

The real-life Hansen was sentenced in 1984 to 461 years in prison for the murder of 17 women, most of which were prostitutes and strippers. During his trial, he also admitted to raping up to 30 women over the course of 10 years.

Hansen was at one point regarded by the community as a respectable family man. He owned a bakery, hence his nickname, “The Butcher Baker”, and had a wife and two children, all unaware of Hansen’s dark side.

Hudgens, 22, recently wrapped up filming on Gimme Shelter, due out in 2012, in which she takes on the role of a troubled teenager whose father abandons her after her decision to keep her unborn baby. Hudgens is also starring in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island alongside Dwayne Johnson and Josh Hutcherson. Journey 2 is due out this year.

There isn’t yet a release date for Frozen Ground, but it’s reported to begin filming on October 17 in Anchorage, Alaska. Scott Walker will be making his directorial debut with the film.

Friends that get tattoos together, stay together. BFFs and “High School Musical” co-stars Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale made a late night visit to a tattoo parlor last week to get some ink.

Tisdale and Hudgens were in New York for Fashion Week and apparently they decided to make a fashion statement of their own. According to People, Tisdale got a tattoo on her foot that reads “jamais seule,” which is french for “never alone.” Hudgens’ tattoo is a little more creative. Hudgens got half the symbol for “om” tattooed on each hand. When Hudgens assumes the prayer position, the symbol of the divine will be visible on her hands.

Celeb Buzz reports that the “High School Musical” stars got their tattoos at East Side Ink from legendary tattoo artist Bang Bang.

Hudgens and Tisdale have been doing a lot lately to try and shed their good girl Disney images.  Last month Hudgens modeled some lingerie in a new Candie’s ad, and last year Tisdale gave President Obama a lap dance. (It was an Obama impersonator, of course.)

In January Candie’s announced Vanessa Hudgens as the new face of their line and now the High School Musical star is being seen in lingerie and other Candie’s clothing for a new ad spot from the company’s Kohl’s department store fall campaign.

The ad features several “Candie’s-ism’s” for example “Candie’s girls believe you can do anything in heels” as is demonstrated in one of the photos.

Speaking to PEOPLE about her own fashion rules Hudgens sais:

“The more I grow up, the more I’ve been comfortable with my style, therefore allowing me to really experiment with all different looks,” while adding, “I’m extremely inspired by the ’60s and ’70s. I adore Bianca Jagger and Cher.”

Hudgens says she likes working with Candie’s because regardless of her mood, whether she feels edgy or conservative she can find something to wear, adding it “depends on the occasion. That’s why I love Candie’s. You can rock it out or be a pink princess.”

Disney properties Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron, two of the actors from the runaway hit High School Musical, have split after four years as a couple.

21-year-old Hudgens and 23-year-old Efron split amicably, sources told the media, saying that neither of the pair were interested in others, but that the relationship “ran its course.” Efron addressed the issue of fidelity in a recent interview with men’s magazine Details, saying that “playing the field” was not “in (his) heart”:

Efron also insisted that rumors about the romance – that it was purely for business and publicity, and a cover for the actor’s alleged homosexuality, etc. – are “f—king insane.”

“They want you to believe it, and they hope they’ll influence you to break up by making you seem insane for being in it,” he said. “And then you’ll play the field, and then they can write about you a sh-tload, make sh-t up, and speculate about everything. Right now they know exactly what’s going on and it’s not very interesting and there’s no money to be made on it. It’s exactly how it should be. It’s real.”

The couple had been dating since 2006.

High School Musical sweethearts Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens are alleged to be taking their relationship to a new level, with a new report claiming the couple is engaged.

The National Enquirer claims that Zac proposed to Vanessa on a trip to Japan in January, and the pair are planning on a wedding next year.

“Zac hasn’t given Vanessa a ring yet. But he’s hoping the proposal will buy him some time with Vanessa’s super-strict mom, Gina, who didn’t approve of the sweethearts living together before they were married” claims a source.

“Vanessa’s mom has been putting serious heat on him to make an honest woman of her daughter. She is old-school and doesn’t approve of Vanessa living with Zac without some type of wedding promise.”

It’s the start of the annual awards season in Hollywood, with smaller awards leading up to the Academy Awards in February. Part of this process is the nomination of films in each category, and advertising across trade publications to support the nominations.

As usual there’s a wide variety of films being pushed, some you’d expect, and some that don’t stand a chance in hell (like Burn After Reading), but there’s one standout this year in the you’ve got to be joking category: High School Musical 3.

Disney has published the following image in trade magazines, and it’s also listed on their Studio Awards site here. But why stop at best picture? On the web site Disney adds to High School Musical 3 “For your consideration, all categories including Best Picture.” Some nominations from the list: Best Director Original Screen Play, Best Actor (Zac Efron), Best Actress (Vanessa Hudgens), Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and there’s even more.

I don’t need to express how little chance High School Musical 3 has of winning best picture, but credit to Disney, they’re game to even try.

Isn’t young love grand. Zac Efron has bought girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens a $50,000 Louis Vuitton Steamer Trunk as a housewarming gift for her new $3 million home.

According to reports, Zac Efron purchased the Louis Vuitton steamer trunk for Hudgens because she “loves” the designer brand. “Vanessa loves Louis Vuitton, but she wouldn’t spend the money for it. To her, it is a piece of art,” says a source in Star Magazine.
