Kansans can rest easier tonight.  After the sight of a huge flying saucer on the back of an 18 wheeler had people in the Sunflower State asking if they had been visited form another planet.  Truth be told they saw something that may still be very uncommon, but very local.

As Sheriff Don Read told Yahoo News, it wasn’t created by a higher intelligent species from outer space, but the good smart folks over at Northrup Grumman, the defense contractor.

The giant saucer was a X-47B drone which was headed to use by the Navy, but it didn’t stop the company from having a little PR fun with the people of Kansas. This is not the first time the military has caused the people of Kansas to see UFO’s.  Last year, there was a huge sighting, but alas, the UFOs turned out to be the Army Golden Knights parachuting team.

He could have easily told the AP or Fox News that this was a drone but instead he decided to tell the show Life’s Little Mysteries, keeping the air of mystery around the issue.

The Mars Curiosity Rover is currently on its way to the red planet to search for alien life, but according to a few conspiracy theorists, proof may already exist.  NASA’s STEREO spacecraft caught a wave of electronically charged material shooting out from the sun toward Mercury, and a few people believe that it’s a cloaked UFO.

Live Science reports that photos of the “coronal mass ejection” (CME) has theorists claiming that an alien spacecraft is touring the Milky Way. A video of the cloaked UFO that was posted on Youtube and has been viewed by more than a million curious space-gazers.

SiniXster, the person who uploaded the video, said:

“It’s cylindrical on either side and has a shape in the middle. It definitely looks like a ship to me, and very obviously, it’s cloaked.”

Is this video evidence of a UFO? Is there really a cloaked UFO near Mercury? According to Russ Howard, the head of of the Naval Research Laboratory, no.

Howard says that the image seen in the video is actually Mercury itself. According to Howard, the image shown in the video is the equivalent of Mercury’s wake, “where the planet was on the previous day.” He explains that the cloaked UFO is actually just left over light. Space.com writes:

“To make the relatively faint glow of a coronal mass ejection stand out against the bright glare of space—caused by interplanetary dust and the stellar/galactic background—the NRL scientists must remove as much background light as possible. They explained that they determine what light is background light, and thus can be subtracted out, by calculating the average amount of light that entered each camera pixel on the day of the CME event and on the previous day. Light appearing in the pixels on both days is considered to be background light and is removed from the footage of the CME. The remaining light is then enhanced.”

Live Science reports that the technique works a little better with faraway objects like stars. When dealing with objects like Mercury, which is the closest planet to the sun, scientists can get the echo effect seen in the video.

Lead ground systems engineer Nathan Rich told Live Science:

“When [this averaging process] is done between the previous day and the current day and there is a feature like a planet, this introduces dark (negative) artifacts in the background where the planet was on the previous day, which then show up as bright areas in the enhanced image.”

So who do you believe? Some fancy smancy scientists, with all their fact based scientific theories? Or Youtube user SiniXster? Yeah, that’s what I thought. There’s definitely a cloaked UFO circling Mercury.

Darn those Chinese, if they aren’t out building their own life-size Transformers they are soon going to be zipping past us in yet another cool ‘thing’.

This time it is a Chinese farmer by the name of  Shu Mansheng who decided to create his own personal flying circle – errr wheel – err .. oh hell I don’t have a clue as to what you would call it but it is still really cool.

What he did was take eight motorcycle motors, attach them each to a spoke in an 18-foot in diameter wheel type thing, and then add propellers to those motors.

Guys like Mansheng don’t build their own flying machines because they’re looking to make a quick buck — they do it because they’re passionate about this stuff. Mansheng’s flying machine is powered by eight motorcycle motors with propellers. Aerodynamics? Mansheng doesn’t need that. All he needs is ambition to build.

And that’s what the Chinese farmer has. The 18-foot diameter machine that’s worth about $3,135 in parts is Mansheng’s fifth prototype and can hover 3.3-feet in the air for about 10 seconds — with him in it. No remote controls here, my friends. Da Vinci would be proud.

A poll of 23,000 people in 22 countries has found that 20% of all people believe that we are not alone.

The Reuters poll found that there was a correlation between believing in aliens, and the population of the country, with 40% of people from India and China believe.

Those in Belgium, Sweden and the Netherlands are least likely to believe, clocking in a belief rate of only 8%.

In another surprising find, women are more likely to believe in aliens then men, at a split of 22% to 17%.

The sender of this email attached several samples of said documents and if you’ve wondered why the governments of the United States and Canada never publicly acknowledge the existence of UFOs, it’s because Canada has followed in the footsteps of the US and opted to cover up or downplay such incidents.

Below is a screenshot of one of the documents. Note the second picture where section 5 is highlighted.

On April 19, 1950, recommendations were drawn up by Canada’s Director of Scientific Intelligence at the time, A. J. G. Langly, for debriefing questionaires to be handed out by the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) in the event someone reported a UFO sighting to them.

Section 5. of that document above states:

“5. You might also consider it advisable to add that should the Flying Saucer actually make a landing on Canadian territory, the nearest RCAF (Royal Canadian Air Force) Command should be advised immediately by telegram or something of the sort.”

The reply to that first letter is below. Read it carefully and also the notes following.

“The present USAF policy is to play down the subject, investigating only when considered necessary by the area commander without any special arrangements for reporting or investigation.

2. It seems that a similar policy on our part would be wise and that it would be undesirable to produce a special questionnaire or make any arrangements for investigation since this would give publicity to the matter. It is suggested therefore that sighting reports should not be solicited and such as pro-volunteered should be passed to DSI for retention and further notion only if further notion seems necessary.

3. It may perhaps be advisable to have this matter brought up in committee so that an official decision can be taken.”

The recommendations state that USAF (United States Air Force) policy at the time was to play down UFO sightings, and that the Canadian RCMP should not have a questionaire for people who report such sightings because collecting information would draw publicity to the matter. However, if someone submitted their own written statement of a sighting to police, it should be accepted but passed on to another organization to decide whether or not to investigate.

Exclusive: Secret Canadian Government Documents show US/CA UFO Coverup is a post from: The Inquisitr

Dozens of residents of Canada’s capital city, Ottawa Ontario and nearby Gatineau, Que., witnessed an object streak across the night sky at about 10pm local time Monday night and crash into the Ottawa River with a “thunderous boom.”

The object had lights on it and appeared to change course several times, like a small plane struggling to stay airborn, before it hit the water.

It was such a sight that emergency rescue and search crews in the area sprung into action and began searching the area using sophisticated sonars and underwater cameras to try and figure out what the object was. Even helicopters from the Canadian Forces Base (CFB) in nearby Trenton took part. On Tuesday at 1:30pm, they discovered an object about 9 meters (30 feet) below the surface, but because of currents and nearby rapids, sending divers down would be extremely dangerous since they would be instantly swept away by the currents.

The mystery? Authorities and residents have no idea what this object laying at the bottom of the river is. There are no planes missing from the area, no other aircraft like helicopters, etc. are missing. There is no derbis, no oil slick and even space agencies that were contacted said nothing disappeared from orbit.

On Tuesday afternoon, Ottawa police Const. Alain Boucher said of the object they found on the riverbed:

“The size and the shape doesn’t lead us to believe it’s any piece of an airplane or fuselage or anything like that. It could be a rock, it could be a bunch of logs stuck together, it’s hard to say. No one has come forward with any kind of videos or anything like that at this time. None of the people actually reported seeing a plane go down at the same time.”

But the fact still remains – something fell into the Ottawa River Monday night that prompted a massive co-ordinated search by local authorities and the Canadian Military. They found an object below the surface and don’t know exactly what it is.

It truly is a UFO mystery at this point.

So yeah, for the first few years internet search engines exist, they refine their algos to dig up the older, more relevant and most credible data so our Alien visitors can learn the back-story of earth, and then as they get closer to the planet they concentrate on current events to gain a better understanding of our current culture; hence, the shift to real-time search and instant update services.

It’s all starting to make sense now.

Google using Alien Intelligence in Real-Time Search Algorithms is a post from: The Inquisitr

Video taken in Turkey earlier this year allegedly shows unprecedented detailed footage of UFOs visiting earth.

The footage was captured by night guard Yalcin Yalman in a compound in Turkey, and handed over to the Sirius UFO Space Science Research Centre for confirmation. The video below is a 16 minute version of the highlights from over two and a half hours of UFO footage.

After running extensive testing on the footage, and confirming independent sitings of UFOs in the area at the same time, the center is claiming the footage isn’t faked, and that it’s the best evidence yet that we are not alone in the universe.

The video has to be seen to be believed. It’s a case of Aliens being real, or this being the most elaborate scam of all time, because that’s how incredible this footage is compared to what we’ve come to expect from so-called “UFO evidence” in the past. I want to believe….and at least one shot shows a craft not completely dissimilar to the flying cookie picture we covered last week.

A set of UFO-related Ministry of Defence files was just made public today as part of the U.K.’s National Archives. The papers indicate the Alitalia aircraft came dangerously close to some kind of “brown missile-shaped object” as it was flying into Heathrow Airport in 1991. The report says the pilot shouted to his co-pilot: “Look out!”

Government and military investigations concluded that the object was not a missile, weather balloon, or space rocket. The investigations were eventually closed and left unresolved.

Other incidents revealed in the UFO documents include a U.S. Air Force pilot having to shoot down some sort of unidentified flying object in the skies above East Anglia, and a report of a woman who claimed to be from the “Sirius system” telling officials that her spaceship had crashed down in Britain during the World War II era.
