Fake Eclipse Movie Trailers Flood YouTube

Twilight fans already keen to move onto the next installment of the Twilight saga, Twilight Eclipse, are busy creating and posting fake Eclipse movie trailers on YouTube.

At the time of writing, no official Eclipse movie trailer has been released, although per the image above the first poster for the movie is already out.

The fake Eclipse movie trailers range from the bad to the very bad, and are notable due to their use of fonts that clearly came from people with little idea about how to do a good fake…like, well…16 year old girls.

New Moon Opening Day Sales Break Box Office Records

Proving perhaps once and for all that there is no God, The Twilight Saga: New Moon’s opening day sales have broken two box office records.

New Moon broke the record for midnight ticket sales Thursday ($26.3 million), and bought home opening day sales of $72.7 million Friday, ahead of the previous record held by The Dark Knight which made $62.2 million.

Industry observers though believe that New Moon won’t break any records over the weekend based on the previous box office for the first Twilight film, which dropped 41% on the Saturday following a similar big Friday opening.

Sales for New Moon for its opening weekend are being estimated at $110-$120 million.

Rumor Claims Robert Pattinson Is Dead

It’s the weekend, and that means its time for a fake celebrity rumor, and first off the mark Saturday is a Robert Pattinson dead rumor.

According to reports circulation, Robert Pattinson was found dead in his hotel in New York City due to a heroin overdose.

Notably, perhaps highlighting that there’s only so many ways you can fake kill a celebrity, the same rumor circulated nearly 12 months ago to the day.

For the record, Robert Pattinson is not dead, Robert Pattinson has not died, although we sincerely wish he career (along with the whole Twilight series) would.

Twilight and The Sims: two franchises that drive the tweens wild, so what better way to promote one by parodying the other? That’s what EA did to spread word about World Adventures, a brand new expansion for The Sims 3. In the trailer you see below, you can gawk in wonderment at the following:

New Moon Volvo Contest: What drives Edward, phase 4

Volvo launched a contest tie-in with the second Twilight movie New Moon, “What drives Edward?”

Twilight fans who participate in the contest can win premiere tickets and a new Volvo. A lot of fans are having trouble with “What drives Edward, phase 4,” and a question on Yahoo Answers points to a video that seemingly helps. (Die hard fans: Stephenie Meyer is appearing on Oprah today to promote New Moon.)

OMG OMG OMG! Twilight quiz game coming to Wii, Nintendo DS, DVD players

We already know about the Twilight MMO, but now the franchise will be bringing its tweeny vampires and well-defined cheekbones to the Wii and Nintendo DS.

Scene It? Twilight is a quiz game containing over 500 multiple choice questions about the Twilight movies. Sorry, movie. Yeah, that’s right: there’s only been one Twilight film, so developer Screenlife will be trying to squeeze 500 questions from a single two-hour flick. Expect things to get pretty obscure.

Before the game arrives on Nintendo’s consoles (on the Wii in Fall 2009, and on the DS in early 2010), there will also be a DVD trivia boardgame released. This will feature on-screen puzzles, movie clips, sound bytes, music and trivia questions about the film, and bonus activities such as “Which Cullen are You?”. It’s a question that has kept us all awake.

If the Scene It? brand name sounds familiar, that’s because it’s already an established series of DVD trivia games, and has appeared on the Xbox 360 twice before. Those were actually reasonably polished releases, so maybe there’s hope for this.

“New Moon” Soundtrack To Feature Music From The Killers, Thom Yorke

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) – The “Twilight” soundtrack became one of the best selling albums of this year and last, selling nearly 3 million copies. Now, Stephenie Meyer revealed the track listing for the highly-anticipated soundtrack to “New Moon” on her website.

“We are excited to finally announce all the songs that will be on the New Moon Soundtrack,” said Meyer. “All of the music is original, and exclusive to the soundtrack.” Among the exclusive cuts are Death Cab For Cutie, who contribute lead single “Meet Me on the Equinox,” The Killers’ “A White Demon Love Song,” and OK Go with “Shooting the Moon.”

The soundtrack only offers one returning act, Muse, whose “I Belong To You” from their latest album “The Resistance” gets a “New Moon Remix” for the album. Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, whose band’s “15 Steps” appeared over the end credits but not on the soundtrack, offers up “Hearing Damage.” The soundtrack also features new music from Band of Skulls, Lykke Li, Bon Iver, and Editors.

The biggest hit from the first “Twilight” soundtrack, Paramore’s “Decode,” reached top 5 on Billboard’s Rock chart. The new soundtrack hits music retailers on October 20th.

Ashley Greene To Be Fashion Correspondent For MTV VMA

New York, NY (CNS) – “Twilight” star Ashley Greene will be talking fashion at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. The network has hired her to become their guest fashion correspondent at the pre-show.

The 22-year-old actress, known for playing Alice Cullen in the vampire romance flick, will be broadcasting live from the red carpet at the Radio City Music Hall in New York, giving the TV viewers “unprecedented access” during the “2009 VMA Preshow” on September 13 at 8 p.m. ET.

Greene, whose post was filled in last year by Taylor Swift, won’t be alone in her job. She will be accompanied by MTV News regular hosts Sway and Tim Kash.

Meanwhile, Greene will next be seen in the film’s sequel, “New Moon,” which will be released on November 20. Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and Robert Pattinson will also reprise their roles.

Twilight actress Kirsten Stewart had already embarked on a fledgling movie career by the time she was a teenager, and was relieved her parents allowed switch to home schooling after she started to get given a hard time by other children.

She said: “I was glad to leave school. I couldn’t relate to kids my own age. They are mean and don’t give you any chance.

“When I was there, I was never the type of girl to be walking around talking about acting, so I didn’t get a whole lot of hassle, until someone found out, until someone saw some old movie and realised. I was trying to play it down.

“But I definitely got, ‘Oh, she’s such a b***h.’ They’d never spoken to me, but instantly they were, like, ‘You are so rude.’ I am not rude.”

The 19-year-old star – who plays the lead role of Bella Swan, who falls in love with a vampire in ‘Twilight’- also said she has always felt older in her mind that she has been physically.

She added: “I felt I should have been an adult at the age of five. And I thought I was an adult when I was 12.

“I wasn’t like a warrior, but I have never been that kid who doesn’t care a fig about anything. It’s just the way I’ve been brought up.”

Seriously, though, this product’s target demographic has to be either too young to buy it, or too old to be buying it without being ostracized from mainstream society. The best part? Robert Pattinson can’t understand why he isn’t dating a model

23-year-old ‘Twilight’ actor Robert Pattinson expected to attract more interest from the opposite sex when he shot to stardom playing vampire Edward Cullen in the first film of the hit vampire franchise.

He said: “I don’t have a girlfriend. I don’t know why. You always think you’re going to get more girls after you’ve made a movie and it never happens.

“You sit there and you’re like, ‘I’m a big movie star and I want to go out with some models’. But I don’t know why that doesn’t happen.”

Although Robert is unhappy with his single status, he would never act on any of the female attention he does receive – because it is from people either too young or too old for him.

He explained: “Most of the girls are all pretty young so it’s just kind of funny. But then you get the ‘Twilight Mums’ who love you like mums! And you can take that too far. I mean, it could be ‘Edward breaks up Twilight family’.

“It’s especially different in Los Angeles. Most of the women there are actresses and by default that makes them a little bit nuts – not that that’s a bad thing.”

Robert’s first acting role was as Hogwarts tri-wizard champion Cedric Diggory in ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ aged 18, and he was preparing to embark on a very different career path before he landed the part.

He explained to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “I was going to do the conventional thing and go to university to study International Relations.

“I wanted to be a politician but ‘Harry Potter’ made that decision for me.”

“Twilight” Star Taylor Lautner Horrified By Older Fan’s Stripping

Taylor Lautner was horrified when a middle-aged female fan tried to take off her panties in front of him. The “Twilight: New Moon” star – who was named Best Male Fresh Face at the recent Teen Choice Awards – tried desperately to avert his eyes when the woman began stripping off so he could autograph her underwear.

Taylor, 17, told Fox News: “I had this 40-year-old woman trying to find a way to take her panties off for me to sign them. They had my name imprinted on them. So that was kind of strange. But you can’t expect anything from these ‘Twilight’ fans.”

The young actor is not the only star of the vampire film franchise to receive unwanted attention from fans.

Last month, Robert Pattinson was grabbed at by an over-zealous fan who was desperate for a hug as he made his way through New York’s JFK airport.

Robert has previously admitted: “It’s funny, but about a year ago I’d talk to girls and no one would be interested. Then when it was announced I would be in ‘Twilight’ and everyone seemed to change their mind.”

Robert Pattinson beat off several well established heartthrobs, including Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp, to claim the title in a poll conducted by Britain’s Glamour magazine.

The 23-year-old year-old star – who shot to fame playing vampire Edward Cullen in teen romantic thriller ‘Twilight’ – isn’t fazed by his new sexy symbol status.

He said: “The hottest actor stuff doesn’t really mean anything. You have a month maybe with all this heat and hype.”

Depp, 46, and 45-year-old Pitt came second and fifth respectively.

Other hunks to make the top ten include Hugh Jackman – who was named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive last year – soccer superstar David Beckham, Zac Efron and George Clooney.

The Glamour poll asked 2,000 British women to list the man they found most attractive.

Becoming vampire Edward in ‘Twilight’ has led Robert to some interesting run-ins with fans who have crushes on him.

He recently said: “People ambush me and try and find out what hotel I’m staying at, as well as wanting to touch my hair. Everyone just screams and screams. It feels surreal.

“Once there were four girls, in Chicago I think, and they had all scratched their necks until they bled.

“Then when they came up to me they had these bleeding scabs. It was gross.”

Earlier this week, the AT&T vs. 4chan controversy brought the internet’s collective reverence of Anonymous to the mainstream media.

People across the web gleefully anticipated the telecommunications giant getting its ass handed to it for censoring /b/. AT&T quickly backed down, but not after letting us all know they were censoring sites for the hell of it. At the time of the incident, 40-60 million Americans were prevented from accessing parts of the site.

But is there anyone who could take on 4chan fearlessly? (NSFW language.)

Bryce Dallas Howard to play Victoria in Twilight Eclipse

Bryce Dallas Howard, daughter of director Ron Howard is about to become a serious household name with news that she has landed the role of Victoria in Twilight Eclipse.

Twilight film producers Summit Entertainment announced the casting change Tuesday, saying that Rachelle Lefevre will no longer be seen as Victoria after Twilight: New Moon.

“We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise,” Summit’s Erik Feig said. “Rachelle brought ‘Victoria’ to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role.” Summit said that Rachelle Lefevre could not continue in the role due to scheduling conflicts.

Bryce Dallas Howard previously appeared in Spider-Man 3 as Gwen Stacy as well as The Village and Lady in the Water. She also played John Connor’s wife in Terminator Salvation.

This is happening: Twilight MMO announced

It may be time to hide your PC from your little sister, because get this: they’re making a Twilight MMORPG. That high-pitched screeching that just shattered all the windows in your house was the sound of a gazillion knicker-wetting Twilight/Robert Pattinson fans losing it.

Details are currently vague, but we know this much: Twilight the MMORPG will feature a non-linear virtual world set in Forks, Washington, and you’ll be able to play as either a human, werewolf, or dreamy vampire. It’s being developed by BrainJunk Studios (a new name to me, I must confess), and will be based on the same storyline as Twilight and New Moon. Players will be able to teleport back and forth through time using the game’s journal, which also works as a novel.

And so another quick cash-in licence takes its first tentative step into the MMO universe. Joy. More information as we get it.

Once Upon a Twilight Dream

This past weekend was San Diego Comic-Con, where nerds, fanboys, and devotees of all things magical/fantastic/scifi/comicbook show up in droves to see snippets from upcoming movies, glimpses of their most obsessed-over actors/actresses, and to get “inside information” on upcoming projects – this year was no different. Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance, footage debuted, and the flames of rumors were fanned. Oh and something called New Moon, the latest upcoming movie in the Twilight series, had an event.

The first official trailer for this movie debuted long ago (see below for an embed), but the days prior to Comic-Con saw a release of official photos and some more details on the movie – culminating in a Friday panel where many attendees waited in line for a day. A day. That’s defined as “greater than 24 hours”, where hordes of teen/preteen girls (with their dads) and middle aged women waited in line for a brief interaction, by proximity, with the cast and crew of their obsessions.

Very simply, the fact that these sort of people would brave a highly judgmental and vocal crowd of thousands of nerds says volumes for their sanity, not to mention what they might consider devotion. Comic-Con is a place for geeks to enjoy themselves once a year and indulge in all of their favorite geek activities, which runs the gamut from comic book-based movies to science fiction TV shows, but definitely does not include the world of Twilight. A new (and not-yet-real) panel for the announcement of a new Blade movie? Sure. But a place for a bunch of screaming females to fawn over the upcoming release of slow-motion shirtless males? Not so much. If Blade is an example of nerd-acceptable vampirism, then Twilight is its antithesis.

Based on the trailer, it’s safe to say that New Moon will just be more of the same seen in the previous movie, albeit with a new director and potentially better visuals. But it doesn’t change the fundamentals of the story, which is based mostly on the drama and inner thoughts of a helpless teenage girl who needs lots of manly men to save her, some of which just happen to be “I shine in the sunlight like diamonds and it’s sooooo cute!” vampires. Oh, and the fundamental beliefs of the Mormon Church (LDS).

More disturbing than the material itself, however, is the rabid fanbase. The panel at Comic-Con was reportedly barely-controlled chaos, as the female hordes screamed such unique one-liners as “I love you Rob!”, but, somehow, insights were given into the acting prowess of Robert Pattinson (“Edward”): “[he had to] stand on a green box and look and stay basically expressionless”. How truly talented he is! But the throngs of fans found “camaraderie” as they waited to have the brilliance that was the Twilight panel bestowed upon them, so all was not lost.

Comparisons will inevitably be made to nerd diehards like Star Wars fans, but there are crucial differences, not the least of which is that overnight lines were formed for the movies, not a quick Q&A session. The most important differentiation is that no matter how devoted a Star Wars fan is, they are able to dissect any part of that universe and judge it objectively for its quality – Twilight fans are completely the opposite. While many of even the most diehard Star Wars nerd may recognize that Episode I was far from the peak of the series, anything even remotely related to Twilight is defended to the absolute death. For evidence, look no further than reactions to criticisms that all the books have horrible literary value, that the actors in the first cinematic installment have no talent, or that the whole concept of the series is little more than a vehicle for the delivery of softcore porn and Mormon values – the knee-jerk fan response is fantastically hilarious.

And this past weekend is just further evidence that the borderline-illiterate nonsense is not going to stop any time soon: there are still books left to translate into movies, and Meyer has one (or more) sequels in publishing limbo. Unlike Meyer’s not-at-all-similar counterpart JK Rowling, most authors in the vampire pornfiction industry don’t know when to stop, and her zombie following will no doubt create a bestseller out of every page or frame ever published.

Being part of the anti-Twilight minority is not going to become any easier as the years of the next decade progress, especially as the movie studios find out what a cash crop the series truly is. But comfort can be had in a key fact: while geeks and nerds are known for occasionally doing odd things in pursuit of their fandom, the rabid Twilight hordes will continue to embarrass themselves on a scale unprecedented, most especially in the eye of the media.

Robert Pattinson is a terrible tipper

Twilight star Robert Pattinson has been criticized after only leaving waiting staff $50 following a luxurious lunch with four friends at New York’s Il Cantinori restaurant last Tuesday (14 July.)

Despite the first-class service they received, the 23-year-old actor failed to reward staff appropriately after racking up a $350 bill at the Greenwich Village eatery.

Robert – who was in New York to work on his latest movie ‘Remember Me’ – and his friends arrived at the restaurant at 10pm and sipped bottles of Italian beer and Chianti red wine until they left at midnight.

A source told America’s OK! magazine: “They were the last diners to leave.”

Despite the disappointing tip, Robert – who tucked into the Caprese salad and the veal Milanese – was described as “nice and friendly” by waiting staff.

In the US, it is customary for diners to give staff at least an additional 15 per cent on top of the bill total. American waiting staff rely heavily on their tips due to the low hourly rates they usually receive.

Editors note: $50 from $350 isn’t that bad… sure it’s not 20%, but it’s better than 10%.

Twilight tattoos are not news- Stephenie Meyer cited them in her critique of certain lines in the movie.

However, the sheer volume of horrible tattoos being inked in homage to this literary abortion and the Diet Coke of vampires is astounding. Edward Cullen, as a character, squicks Robert Pattinson out:

“When you read the book,” says Pattinson, looking appropriately pallid and interesting even without makeup, “it’s like, ‘Edward Cullen was so beautiful I creamed myself.’ I mean, every line is like that. He’s the most ridiculous person who’s so amazing at everything. I think a lot of actors tried to play that aspect. I just couldn’t do that. And the more I read the script, the more I hated this guy, so that’s how I played him, as a manic-depressive who hates himself. Plus, he’s a 108-year-old virgin so he’s obviously got some issues there.”

Although not as much as the author of Twilight herself does:

“When I read it … I was convinced that Stephenie was convinced that she was Bella, and … it was like it was a book that wasn’t supposed to be published, like reading her — her sort of sexual fantasy about some — especially when she says that it was based on a dream, and it’s like, “Oh, then I had a dream about this really sexy guy” and she just writes this book about it, and there’s some things about Edward that are just so specific that … I was just convinced that this woman is mad, she’s completely mad, and she’s in love with her own fictional creation. And I sometimes … feel uncomfortable reading this thing, and I think a lot of people feel the same way, that it’s kind of voyeuristic … It creates this sick pleasure in a lot of ways.”

And yet Twitards fangirls who haven’t yet seen True Blood are lining up to get huge, ugly ass tattoos all over their back acne. Via Geekologie, a collection compiled over at ONTD.
