Someone is in possession of a Tupac sex tape and there are plans to release it.

This is not apparently one of those urban legends spreading around about celebrities having sex tapes. Whatever the motive is behind the sudden release of this tape, especially involving someone who has passed away a number of years ago, is something that puzzles us. However, Tupac is Tupac and will forever be famous, that’s probably why.

Anyway, TMZ is reporting that it is the real deal and claimed to have seen it. In the tape, TMZ describes Tupac entering a room with his pants down to his ankles. He pulls a woman and asks her to perform oral sex on him while an unreleased rap song of the rapper is playing in the background. Tupac while singing even puts his arm around Money B from Digital Underground. The five minute tape ends when Tupac was just ready to have sex.

Wait, if there’s an unreleased rap song playing in the background, we’re more interested with that one. Seriously.

Today marks the 15th anniversary of Tupac Shakur’s death. Tupac was shot multiple times during a drive by shooting after attending a Mike Tyson fight in Las Vegas on September 7th, 1996. The enigmatic street poet would die at the hospital a few days later.

Tupac was just 25-years-old when he was killed, but the rapper left a lasting impression on the hip-hop world. Today, stars like Drake, Snoop Dogg, RZA and Busta Ryhmes took a moment to reflect on one of the most influential rappers in hip-hop history.

Snoop Dogg: ”His legacy is deeper than people could ever imagine. I been all over the world and the Tupac legacy is so deep. You got people believing that he’s still here. He gave people a different train of thought. You can be a thug, but be an intelligent thug. I see gangsters now walking around with laptops and becoming smarter. I attribute that to him because he was a thinker. He made people that were around him think.”

RZA: ”Tupac continues to influence and inspire artists every day. Most of these big rappers are emulating him, emulating his style, his persona. You see me acting in movies, he was one of the first guys that was able to rap and act and break those barriers. Tupac is [an] icon for hip-hop, for music and for black people.”

Kurupt: ”He’s an icon. He was a great man, he had a great heart, a passion for this music. He taught me so much; he taught a lot of people so much. He changed our whole work ethic in the studio, changed the way we look at this game. We took it serious all off the way ‘Pac was. Before then, we were just running amok.”

Drake: ”If there was anybody that I wish I could be a little more like, it’d probably be ‘Pac. He was somebody who was a free spirit and he did not care, he just did what he felt. I wish I could have a little more ‘Pac to my persona. I’m working on it.”

After Tupac’s death, the rivalry between the east and west coast intensified. Orlando Anderson, who some believe was the one who shot Tupac, was murdered in 1998. Biggie Smalls, who some also believe was involved in Tupac’s death, was also shot and killed in 1998. Both Tupac’s and the Notorious B.I.G’s deaths remain unsolved.

A few months ago a jailed felon, Dexter Isaac, admitted to shooting Tupac in 1994. Isaac said that he was not involved in Tupac’s fatal shooting in 1996, but the 1994 shooting is believed to have been partially responsible for setting off a chain of events that ended in Tupac’s death.

Tupac only released 5 solo albums during his short career, but over the last 15 years, another 8 albums have made their way to record shelves. Tupac has released 8 posthumous albums, which has given a few people hope that the rapper is still alive.

According to Pop Crush, Tupac Shakur is the best selling hip-hop artist of all time with more than 100 million records sold, and he is one of few rappers to have his music immortalized by the Library of Congress.

MTV is celebrating the life and work of Christopher George Latore Wallace today, better known to the world as Biggie Smalls, the Notorious B.I.G, or just Big. (Brooklyn stand up.)

Wallace’s biopic Notorious has been running in heavy rotation on HBO, and several documentaries about Big’s life have been cycling through on music channels. It was thirteen years ago today that Big was gunned down in L.A. by an unknown assailant, just months after the also unsolved murder of friend turned rival Tupac Shakur after a Mike Tyson fight in Vegas.

Puff Daddy P. Diddy spoke to MTV about the push to make March 9th Biggie’s day:

“We’re trying to make March 9th a national hip-hop holiday,” Diddy told MTV News. “It already is, on the low. MTV is going to have a big special. We’re doing a party. I’m going to Brooklyn. It’s gonna be the first time I’m throwing a party in Brooklyn. I’m from Harlem. Everybody in Harlem knows you don’t usually go over the bridge to Brooklyn. It’s a big, big deal. Me being such a Harlemite, I’m going over there to pay respect to my man. It’s gonna be a big party in Brooklyn with Mister Cee. It’s a big day. It’s a day to celebrate his life. It’s a day to celebrate the life of the man. We done did the movie, the records. It’s something that, I guess, as a label we’re obsessed with: making sure people don’t forget about this man in a positive way. March 9 is Biggie Day. … Bump Biggie all day, feel good and positive.”

I have to admit to not always being a Biggie fan- when he was alive he was ubiquitous, and my tastes ranged more towards indie rock. As an adult (and later Brooklyn resident) I slowly began to really appreciate his work, and Ready To Die is one of my top five albums of all time-still in constant rotation on this New Yorker’s iPod. Fans are taking to Twitter to proclaim their love for NYC’s most mourned rapper, and tweeting their five favorite Biggie joints with the hashtag “Top five Biggie” or “#ripbig.”

Notorious Rapper Tupac Shakur who was ‘allegedly’ killed in a shootout in Vegas 13 years ago, has been spotted partying it up at a New Orleans night club.

TMZ is reporting that Tupac is alive and was photographed at a bar on Burbon Street in New Orleans over the weekend. After looking at the photos, the man does have a striking resemblance to Tupac – The facial features, bald head, goatee, nose ring, etc… but over 13 years, people age and the person in the photos looks pretty much exactly like Tupac did 13 years ago.

TMZ says they didn’t get any DNA evidence (???) but the photographic evidence is enough for them to say Tupac is alive.

Maybe they’ll find Elvis working at a pizza joint in Fresno next.
