Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and his wife Candice Crawford (Gossip Girl) announced on Tuesday that they are expecting their first child.

Romo, 31, revealed the pregnancy while visiting a high school outside of Dallas. A student asked Tony if he had any children at which time Romo said:

“I’ve actually got one on the way. My wife’s pregnant.”

After Romo made the announcement the video below shows Crawford grabbing onto her not yet showing pregnant belly:

It’s great news for Tony Romo and his former Miss USA contestant wife who have been married for five months.

In the meantime Romo’s former girlfriend Jessica Simpson has yet to confirm her own pregnancy and this news could make her baby on the way feel an awful lot like a “copy cat” pregnancy.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Dallas Cowboys is America’s favorite professional football team. The survey by The Harris Poll also revealed that The Pittsburgh Steelers move up from 4th last year to number 2 on the list while the Green Bay Packers remain at number 3. The New England Patriots moved up from 6th to 4th and the Bears from 9th to 5th this year.

The survey also revealed that over half of Americans (55%) say they follow professional football. It may be a slight increase compared to last year’s 53% but this year is the highest following since 1998.

The Detroit Lions moved up 11 places on the list from number 30 last year to number 19 this year;

The Miami Dolphins moved up 8 places from a tie for number 21 to number 13;

The Oakland Raiders dropped 8 places, from a tie at number 17 to number 25;

Two teams moved up 7 places each– The Washington Redskins, from number 15 to number 8, and the New York Jets, from number 16 to a tie for number 9; and

Two teams dropped 6 places each– the New Orleans Saints, from number 5 to number 11, and the Arizona Cardinals, from number 11 to a tie at number 17

The survey also asked football fans who they think would win the Super Bowl. A quarter of Americans who follow professional football (24%) believe the Green Bay Packers will win the Super Bowl, while 23% think it will be the New England Patriots.

It is obvious with this survey that football remains one of the favorite sports to follow by Americans. Good thing the season went on despite the initial issue between the player’s union and team owners.

Going back to the survey, did you know that even party lines are evident with people who follow football: Independents at 53%, Democrats at 56% and Republicans at 62%.

During the Dallas Cowboys game against the Washington Redskins on Monday night football quarterback Tony Romo received two pain injections in his fractured rib and now it looks like he might need another injection during the Detroit Lions game on Sunday afternoon.

After practicing on Thursday Romo said:

“I would say this, there’s a test that just goes, come over here (lightly tap his rib area) and see how hard you can do it until I feel it,” adding, “And if I feel it I’m going to need it.”

According to Romo he’ll be using a “pain” method to determine if a shot is needed, the QB says if he takes a “hard tap” and it hurts he’ll take the painful shot, if he’s okay he’ll continue to play through the fractured rib pain.

During his game against the Redskins Romo chose to wear a protective vest however he said it hindered his throws. Romo completed 22 of 36 passes for 255 yards with one interception and no sacks. It was only the seventh game since Romo became the Cowboy’s starting QB in 2006 that he didn’t throw a touchdown pass.

A CT scan performed on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has revealed a punctured lung and fractured ribs.

At this time Romo has not been ruled out for play next weekend, Coach Jason Garrett revealed:

“I would not think there’s any reason to think that he won’t play Monday,” while adding, “We’re certainly hopeful.”

In his own statement on Sunday Romo said he would likely take on the Redskins during Monday Night Football since he was able to close out his teams game against the San Francisco 49ers.

A CT scan was required for Romo after team doctors were unable to get a clean X-Ray during Sunday’s game.

The injury occurred when 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks hit him during a 25-yard completion to tight end Jason Witten.  After playing through some discomfort during the first half Romo returned and played in all of the second half except 37 seconds in the third quarter when he was administered pain-killing medicine.

Romo completed his injure laden game with 12-of-15 completed passes and 201 yards in the fourth quarter for a come from behind win.

In the meantime Romo may wear extra protective padding during his Monday night showdown as his ribs continue to heal.

It’s not uncommon for NFL players to play through pain, the Cowboy’s are just lucky their guy isn’t Jay Cutler or they’d likely be looking at a second string quarterback for a while.

Dallas Cowboys starting QB Tony Romo broke his collar bone and while he does not need surgery he is still going to be out six to eight weeks. Since the Cowboys are already past their bye week, and at 1-5 they are falling behind the rest of the teams in the NFC East. What was an already pretty ugly season gets a lot worse now that they have to turn the reigns over the Jon Kitna for essentially the remainder of the regular season. Romo could be back for the game at Buffalo on December 12th, but none of us really know.

The real damage here is Kitna is may fine backup QB, but this is a guy who has not started a game since 2008 and has not won a game since 2007. His career QB rating is 76.7 and he has thrown for 27,480 yards, completed 59.8% of his passes, thrown for 154 TD’s with 151 INT’s. He could get the job done, but he does carry the taint of being a part of the winless Detroit Lions in 2008.

The news gets worse for Cowboys coach Wade Phillips who needed to have a strong playoff run to keep his job, and likely needed to get owner Jerry Jones the first ever home field advantage in the Super Bowl to truly be safe from firing. Now it looks like the Cowboys will not even make the playoffs and despite the key injury to Romo it looks like Wade Phillips will be moving on to a new team sooner rather than later.

This is the worse record by a Cowboys team since 1989, and the schedule doesn’t look to get an easier. There are no for sure wins at this point and we could see the Cowboys have a truly wretched season.

Jamarcus Russell may just be the man who can resurrect the Raiders

This time of year we have to preface everything said with the fact that this is merely the pre-season. With that being said  the pre-season game last night between the Dallas Cowboys andthe Oakland Raiders may have taught us a few things about the 2009 NFL regular season.

The Raiders looked pretty good, however most of their scoring came against the Cowboys 2nd defensive unit, and with backup QB Bruce Gradkowski. However, Bruce was able to lead the team to three TD’s while in the game. This seems to indicate that Raiders offense will be able to move the ball.

This means that Russell, entering his third NFL season, will have to live up to his status as a former overall number one pick in the NFL draft. He appears now that he has the weapons around him, and that this will be a make or break season for the young QB.

On the other hand, it looks like the Dallas Cowboys will be far better off post Terrell Ownes than they were with him. It seems that the Dallas offense will now be able to distribute balls to all of their receivers while relying on RB’s Marion Barber, and Felix Jones to keep drives alive.

Dallas QB, Tony Romo, has a couple of good receivers in WR Roy Williams, and TE Jason Whitten. At this point Dallas looks like one of the teams to beat in the NFC East.

Sources told People magazine that Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson ended their relationship the day before Jessica’s 29th birthday on Friday. Tony was then seen out having a good time at Hollywood hotspot MyHouse Friday night with friends.

“He had quite a few girls stop by his dance floor table. Romo was sipping Grey Goose and having a fun time with the boys.”

Jessica is reportedly not taking the split very well. The unnamed source says:

“She loves Tony. But it’s been difficult lately. He’s busy with his career and she’s getting ready to shoot her show. They decided to part ways.”

On the night before her birthday? Come on, that’s just cruel.

In this supposed fight between Carrie Underwood and Jessica Simpson, I’m going to have to side with Jessica. While the whole “Tony-Romo-is-my-future-baby’s-daddy” is verging on super-gross, it doesn’t mean that a jealous ex should be called you FAT. OK! reports that Carrie Underwood might be paying extra attention to her rival Jessica:

“She finds Jessica’s love of putting her life on display pretty desperate. She laughed at the People cover, because it’s the same one Jess did about John Mayer — same smile, same look, except she’s a little fatter.”

Even though a source close to Carrie said this, so we have no way of knowing if it’s true, I’ve got my eyebrows raised. Jessica’s music sucks enough with the move to country; do we really need to be critiquing the bod as well? She’s nesting!

I didn’t expect to side with Jessica, trust me, but no girl deserves this b*tchiness (if it’s true).

Think that Jessica Simpson overshared as she professed her undying love for Tony Romo? That People interview’s nothing when we look at her most recent concert whoopsie: the Niagra Falls Review reports that her concert at the Avalon unraveled into her talking about being gassy:

“Unlike her tour opener in Wisconsin, where she was booed opening for Sara Evans, this crowd was here only for her. And they paid $70 a ticket for the privilege. Armed with that confidence, Simpson opened up about God, divorce and, um, flatulence. ‘I do pass gas a lot,’ she said. ‘I guarantee it smells like roses.’”

This is the sign of someone who thinks they’re too cute. Erm, not so much.

After all these years being prepped for life in the spotlight, Jessica Simpson just can’t get it into her head that she shouldn’t talk about relationships to the general public. Did she learn nothing from Newlyweds? Is she casting a shadow of bad luck over her relationship with Tony Romo by blabbing? Probably. The highlights, hit-by-hit:

1. “‘I just told him today, ‘You’re the love of my life.’ I don’t really ever say that to anybody.’” (Ouch.)

2. “‘I don’t want anybody that’s been in my life [before] in my life anymore. I don’t even want them to have any way of contacting me.’” (She wants Tony to do the same, of course. She’s just not admitting it.)

Jessica Simpson Still Wants Attention, Tony Romo’s Love is a post from: The Inquisitr

“Other stuff” being her new country music career– get your minds out of the gutters! Jessica Simpson must be consoled since her on-off relationship with Tony Romo is pretty shaky, most likely thanks to none other than Papa Joe.

Besides that, it looks like Jessica has finally found her niche: her single “Come on Over” debuted at number 41 on Billboard country singles charts. That makes Jessica the highest charting debut solo artist of all time, beating out Brad Cotter and Miranda Lambert who had debuted at 42. I’m impressed, and so is Jessica:

I got chills and butterflies in my stomach. It felt like the first time I heard myself on the radio when I was 19. Country is where my heart is. It’s refreshing to share something that feels so close to home. I am so honored to become a part of the country community.

Yay! That’s something to take her mind off of the horrific managing rumors about her dad.

Papa Joe Simpson is a meddler extraordinaire, I’d say. We were all wondering whether Jessica Simpson and her beau Tony Tony were on or off, and to be honest, it was looking pretty bad for the couple. According to rumors, Jessica’s devastated about her ex John Mayer being in loooove with Jennifer Aniston and she’s kind of a jealous b*tch to top it off. Plus, she supposedly went on a bit of a bender, and that’s usually breakup-fueled.

But (surprise!) a suspicious source has come to the rescue, telling People that Jessica and Tony were thisclose at her sister’s wedding this weekend. The “insider” spilled that “They were kissing and holding hands throughout the night. He was very sweet to her. They were very much a couple.”

How much do you want to bet that the “source” is good ol’ Papa Joe? I say it’s all for keeping up appearances. Jessica wouldn’t want to be alone at her possibly-cuter sister’s wedding, now would she? She’s already the divorcee, so being the singleton just adds insult to injury.
