Tom Cruise Wants Villain Role for Wife in Next ‘Mission: Impossible’

Tom Cruise wants Katie Holmes to play a villain in the next ‘Mission: Impossible’ movie.

The actor, who stars as spy Ethan Hunt in the action franchise, is desperate to work with his wife and believes an evil part for her in the fourth film would be perfect because he doesn’t want them to play a couple on screen.

A source said, “Tom is very excited about taking ‘Mission: Impossible’ in a new direction and he sees Katie as a big part of that.

“They have wanted to work together for a while now but the idea of being a couple on screen in a romantic comedy is a bit dull. This might give them a chance to have some fun both as a couple and as hero and villainess.”

Katie, who has a three-year-old daughter, Suri, with Tom, recently admitted she loves bringing her home life into her acting roles.

She said, “In my own life, my whole world really revolves around my family. I do what I need to do, but it’s like, ‘How is everybody else doing?’ And it’s wonderful for me as an actress to put some of that into a character.”

Tom Cruise has claimed that he “excels” at sex in an admission when he was asked about his performance during an appearance on Jay Leno alongside his Wichita co-star Cameron Diaz.

Host Jay Leno asked: “I know you’re a pilot, what are you better at – flying or sex?”

Clearly embarrassed by the question, Tom began squirming in his seat before joking: “You know what, I don’t know. Having sex with me is like flying, Jay. I try to excel in all areas and I’ve never been asked for a refund, so I don’t know.”

Tom was equally as mortified when Jay quizzed him on his weekend habits.

Asked if he ever visited strip clubs, Tom went bright red and replied: “Actually I never have been, ever. Sorry to disappoint you.”

Sensing his embarrassment, Cameron tried to calm the situation down, adding: “It’s kind of hard to be Tom Cruise and go to a strip club, you guys seriously!”

Tom responded: “I swear, if I went I would say, ‘Yeah Jay, of course I went.’ ”

Connor Cruise to star in remake of Red Dawn

Connor Cruise, Tom Cruise’s 14-year-old adopted son, has landed a role in a remake of 1984 movie ‘Red Dawn’.

In the film, Connor will play high school student Daryl who joins a group of fellow pupils to battle foreign military forces who have invaded America.

The original movie was set in an alternate 1980s and follows an invasion of the US by then Soviet Union armed forces and soldiers from Central America.

Connor, along with his co-stars, is set to undergo military training ahead of shooting, which is due to start in Detroit in the next month.

‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ actress Isabel Lucas and ‘Star Trek’ actor Chris Hemsworth have also signed up for the movie.

This is not Connor’s first big screen role.

He played a young Will Smith in the 2008 film ‘Seven Pounds’ and is desperate to follow in dad Tom and mother Nicole Kidman’s Hollywood footsteps.

Miley Cyrus recently revealed she is giving Connor acting lessons to help him fulfil his ambitions, and has let him shadow her on the set of her hit Disney TV series ‘Hannah Montana’.

Miley, 16, said: “I guess he wants to be an actor too, he is really cute.”

Tom Cruise is giving David and Victoria Beckham relationship advice

Tom Cruise has reportedly been telling David and Victoria Beckham what they need to do in order to maintain a healthy balance between work and their private life.

David, 34, and 35-year-old Victoria were living apart while the soccer star played for Italian club AC Milan on loan earlier this year. Tom thinks it will be bad for their marriage if they live separately again if David decides to leave current team Los Angeles Galaxy.

A source said: “After an evening with David, Tom decided to have a friendly chat with Victoria about the family’s future. He talked to her about David aging, his soccer career, the pressures of disgruntled fans, the loneliness when away from the family and how time apart can make marriages fail. She knows Tom has a point because she saw how her and David’s recent trip to the Seychelles really improved their relationship. It seems his heart-to-heart had an impact on her.”

Since returning to the US, David has been subjected to abuse from angry supporters and it is believed he is unsure about staying with Los Angeles Galaxy. He is under contract until 2012 but is expected to seek a loan move back to Italy or England next January so he can win a place in the England national team at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Victoria stayed in Los Angeles with the couple’s three sons – Brooklyn, 10, six-year-old Romeo and four-year-old Cruz – while David played in Italy and is believed to be reluctant to leave the US where she has carved herself out a successful fashion career.

Meanwhile, David is to star in an advert with Arnold Schwarzenegger. The superstar sportsman and ‘Terminator’ actor have agreed to appear in the campaign to promote California to tourists.

David will be seen playing soccer on a beach, but it is not yet known what Arnold – who is the governor of the US state – will do for the ads. A source said: “It will be a massive campaign.”

Rogaine Scented Scientologists preparing to invade Australia

So Katie Holmes will be moving to Australia this summer (winter there) for filming of a movie she’s starring in and her hubby, Tom Cruise, the face of Scientology, will be joining her for moral support.

While in Aus, Tom will also be bolstering support for Scientology and trying to “dispel the myths that Scientology is a cult” according to UK’s DailyMail:

Tom Cruise will launch a recruitment drive for his Scientology church in Australia.

His charm offensive will begin when he relocates to Melbourne for four months while his wife, Katie Holmes, begins work on her latest film, Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark.

‘Tom knows that he will have his work cut out as the church attracts protesters,’ says my source.

‘But he hopes his presence will help change minds and dispel the myths that Scientology is a cult.’

The state of Victoria outlawed Scientology for six years in the Sixties after it was branded ‘evil’ by a local lawyer.

Katie will begin shooting in August amid tight security. Sources say the cast will have to sign 20-page confidentiality agreements and the couple want to recruit a large ‘entourage’.

So if you live in Australia and catch a wiff of Rogaine and see a balding man resembling the guy pictured below approaching you, or he shows up at your front door trying to sell you magic vitamins out of a backback, beware.

Tom Cruise, 46, is reportedly going bald and taking Rogaine treatments in a last-ditch effort to cling to the what little hair he has left.

A Star Magazine informant has revealed:

“Tom is using Rogaine because his [hair] is thinning. Plus he gets weekly massages to stimulate growth.”

No word on the cause of Tom Cruise’s hair loss. At this point it could be any number of things, like Anthrax, Scientology vitamins, or just plain old age.

Kelly McGillis confirms lesbian rumors

Actress Kelly McGillis, best remembered for her role opposite Tom Cruise in Top Gun, has confirmed rumors that she is a lesbian.

“I’m done with the man thing,” McGillis told Shewired. “I did that, I need to move on in life. It’s a part of being true to yourself. That’s been a challenge for me.”

51 year old McGillis is twice married and divorced, and has two teenage daughters. McGillis said that it took her a long time to accept that she was a lesbian. “I think that was an ongoing process from the time I was probably 12..It was a long arduous journey for me.”

Katie Holmes’ Scientology detox diet continues to eat away at the once great looking actress, with a new appearance showing all the ravages of a malnutritioned child in a war zone.

Holmes was pictured in Los Angeles over the weekend looking frail and disheveled as she attended dinner with husband Tom Cruise and his adoptive daughter Isabella.

Adding to the gaunt look, Holmes also had forgotten to do her fingernails, with some showing a mint-green nail varnish, while the others were bare.

According to The Mirror, Holmes is on a strict Scientology detox diet that uses herbal drinks and a purification procedure to eliminate toxic substances. If the Detox includes eating away at all body fat, then it’s quite clearly working.

Tom Cruise isn’t endearing himself to the natives in Brazil, with a nice little display of cultural stupidity.

Cruise was in town to promote Valkyrie, and decided it would be really smart to trying to speak to the locals in Spanish, saying “hola” (hello) and “gracias” (thank you).

One tiny little problem though. They don’t speak Spanish in Brazil, they speak Portuguese.

It’s the equivalent of a French actress doing a media conference in the United States flipping into Spanish instead of English….actually, no, that doesn’t work, chances are a good portion of the audience in the US would speak Spanish, but I digress, because it would still be rather rude.

I guess Xenu doesn’t hand out pills for intelligence.

Valkyrie Producers May Be Sued Over Hitler Globe; Copyright Law Gone Mad

The producers of Valkyrie, Tom Cruise’s newest movie based on the plot during World War Two to kill Hitler may be sued for using a reproduction of the famous Hitler Globe.

The globes, produced in the 1930’s were given to high ranking officials in the Third Reich, with one Globe said to be kept at Berchtesgaden (The Eagles Nest), the Bavarian Country home of Hitler. Most were destroyed during the war, but the Berchtesgaden Globe was retrieved by American soldiers.

Art collector Robert Pritikin acquired the globe in 2007 and filed a copyright claim over reproductions, ostensibly to stop neo-Nazi’s creating copies, and this is where the problem for Valkyrie lies: they didn’t seek permission from Pritikin to use the globe reproduction first.

According to Page Six, the Globe is actually up for sale, the Pritikin is said to be hoping the matter will be resolved without going to court…or better still Tom Cruise will buy the globe.

Sadly though it’s a case of copyright law gone mad. This is a work created in the 1930’s by a German company that no longer exists; that an art collector can claim copyright over the work in 2007 when the work, under both US and German law should be in the public domain is scary within itself. Worse still though, the copyright claim means that an historical event, and portrayal of that event based on facts, is now limited by copyright law, even events that occurred over 60 years ago. Imagine for example a copyright claim over parts of the US Civil War, the US War of Independence, or the Battles of World War One? That we despise Hitler is irrelevant: history needs to be free so that we are able to remember it freely, copyright law has no place here at all. It’s yet another sickening example of how copyright law has been corrupted by greed and blatant disregard for the common good.

FBI Investigating Tom Cruise Death Threats

The FBI is investigating a death threats sent to Tom Cruise and wife Katie Holmes.

The threats, alleged to be coming from groups opposed to Scientology, have resulted in an increase in security around Cruise, wife Katie Holmes and daughter Suri.

The threats are being taken so seriously that Cruise is now apparently traveling in bullet proof cars, and is even thought to have spent $10 million building an underground bunker at his Colorado Estate.

In August, threats were made to place anthrax in the air vents of Tom’s Los Angeles office according to the Telegraph.

Anti-scientology protesters have also targeted screenings of Cruise’s latest film Valkyrie.

Katie Holmes looking more than a little worse for wear

Whether it’s the pressure of being married to Tom Cruise, motherhood or a Broadway show we’re not sure, but actress Katie Holmes has been caught looking a more than a little worse for wear.

The Daily Mirror notes that Katie looks run-down, gaunt and tired, sparking concerns about her health.

The Mirror has more pics, including visable sores on Katie’s body. Something definitely not right here.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman: dumped the adopted kid

Remember Connor Cruise? He is the less photographed and less talked about, adopted kid of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. He was adopted before adopting was de riguer amongst celebs.

Well it seems if you have the biological kids, the adopted kids get pushed to the side. Connor Cruise debuted in the movie Seven Pounds, as a young Will Smith. This week saw the LA premiere of Seven Pounds which WIll Smith and Connor Cruise both appeared at. Tom and Nicole didn’t even bother to show up.

No “I am so proud” no smiling photos supporting their son (even if he is adopted). Now that Sunday Rose and Suri are here it seems to all about the biological. The positive focus that Tom seems to get with Suri, and Nicole gets with Sunday Rose means that it will be unpopular to call these two bad parents. But I’ll say it. Not bothering to tun up to your child’s movie premiere is poor form and clearly shows favoritism amongst your children.

Tom claimed he was too busy promoting his current movie, Nicole Kidman didn’t even bother providing an excuse.

Tom Cruise Reels It In, Calls His Rant “Arrogant”

Tom Cruise met with Matt Lauer on the Today show, where he called his 2005 interview (that one that controversially covered antidepressants, Scientology, and psychiatry) “glib” and said that he was going to reserve his Scientology talk for times when he’s not discussing his films. Can we get a “hip-hip-hooray”?

Tom even admitted that he thought he sounded “arrogant” during his last Matt Lauer encounter, saying:

“I’m here to entertain people. I thought about it a lot. It’s a subject matter that was important. After looking at it, I really thought, it’s not what I had intended. In looking at myself, I came across arrogant. I absolutely could have handled that better.”

Regarding Scientology, Tom told Matt that ”I think there’s a time and place for it. [But] when people are tuning in to hear about my movie, that’s what I’m here to talk about.”

Is this a whole new Tom, or at least the one I actually had a crush on (unthinkable!) pre-Vanilla Sky?

Britney has had an incredible couple of weeks, she has got her body back, completed a promotional tour of Europe, released a doco about her life, her latest album is selling like hotcakes, and then to ensure we don’t get lulled into a false sense of security, she shows that she is still a little nuts. Apparently she is considering joining the Church of Scientology.

According to the U.K.’s Heat Magazine, Britney recently told a friend she was open to “new things” including Scientology.

“I have met Katie a few times, so I called her up and just started asking questions about Scientology.

“Katie told me she wasn’t so sure about it at first either, but once Tom explained it to her and she read the books and took some classes, it really started to work for her. Then Tom wanted to talk to me about it, so I did. He was nice and answered all my questions and sent me books.”

Sure he did. How about being open to something new, like being normal.

What will Madonna say? Weren’t you supposed to be considering Kabbalah?

Tom Cruise Is Still Creepy

Tom Cruise has continued to tell us just how much he loooves Katie Holmes. Isn’t that so 2006? This time they’re busy making us feel uncomfortable on the cover of T: The New York Times Style Magazine’s and splashed inside, too! Us mag reports that Tom got Katie an engagement ring after the first date, with Tom admitting that:

‘I knew I wanted to marry Kate when I met her.’

When Holmes confessed to him that she dreamed of marrying him as a little girl, ‘I said I wouldn’t want to disappoint her,’ Cruise says. So, the actor says, he bought Holmes an engagement ring shortly after their first date in 2005.

‘At one point, I thought she was going to ask me to marry her first and I put her off by changing the subject,’ Cruise adds. ‘I wanted to ask her.’

It’s cool that Tom thinks Katie was going to ask him, but I kind of wish she had. If she’d seemed less robotic from the get-go, things could’ve turned out differently.

Well, I think you know who I think this blind bit is about, but I would love to hear some other guesses. . . Read on about a demanding set of offspring with high-profile parents, and how they manage to get their own way a good deal of the time:

Which celebrity couple has relenquished control of the family to their offspring? This goes beyond spoiling. They let the child/children make all their own decisions about education, food, clothing, travel, and activities. Before you know it, the kid/kids will be picking the parents’ projects and handling the money. The parents seem to think that the decision-making will result in more self-assured adult/s. However, right now it’s just the tail wagging the dog. Other family members are concerned that some of these decisions may be endangering the health and safety of all involved.

My back-up guesses are the Smiths (as in Will Smith and Jada) or Tom Cruise and the gang. Do you think it could it be the Jolie-Pitt clan, or are you betting on someone else? Do tell!

Scientology employees in Los Angeles have shot dead a man threatening them with two Samurai swords.

The unidentified man approached Scientology guards around noon Sunday in the parking lot of the Scientology Celebrity Centre in Los Angeles. One guard “felt threatened for his life” and fired at the man reported local police.

Detectives were questioning the guard to figure out the swordsman’s motive and determine whether the shooting was justified reports CBS13. Surveillance tape showed the man arriving in traditional Los Angeles Samurai transport, a red convertible, then approaching the guards with a sword in each hand.

No word yet on exactly what the man was wearing, so we’re not sure if he went the extra step and dressed up as a Ninja as well for good measure. The man was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital.

PBL Media in serious trouble, may face breakup

PBL Media, the holding company behind Australian television network Channel 9 and ACP Magazines is in serious trouble, and may face breakup if a major restructure of financing can’t be completed.

In an assessment of the 2007-08 financial report of PBL Media, auditors Ernst & Young noted an “uncertainty” over whether the company could service its debt, and suggest that “in the absence of a restructure of the debt arrangements, a recapitalization, major asset sales or a combination of the above, the consolidated entity is not likely to meet all of its financial covenants for the next 12 months”.

PBL Media is more famously remembered in Australia as the Packer Media Empire. Founded originally by Sir Frank Packer, and responsible for the first television station in the country, the company grew under the leadership of Kerry Packer, who passed on in 2005. Son James Packer, Scientologist and friend of Tom Cruise took over upon his fathers death, and split the original Publishing and Broadcasting Limited into two entities, PBL Media and Crown Ltd for the casino assets. James subsequently sold half of PBL Media to CVC Asia Pacific for $4.5 billion AUD, then later a further 25% for $526 million. Packer and right hand man John Alexander left the PBL Media board in October.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, James Packer has declined to provide more cash for the company, leaving the financial obligations to CVC Asia Pacific to solve.

If PBL Media breaches its debt obligations and CVC does not inject more money, the 60-plus lenders – led by struggling banks such as UBS – could ask for early repayment. PBL Media “does not expect that it could repay the amounts from current operating cash flows”, the auditors warned.
