Ex Party Girl Lindsay Lohan reportedly was made several highly lucrative offers to host New Year’s Eve shows on several networks.  In a sign of the changing times, Lindsay supposedly turned them all down in order to help rehab her party hard image.

TMZ reported that the troubles star is making great progress with the judge who is overseeing her probation.  She has been showing up on time to community service, staying clean and sober and keeping a low profile.  She desperately wants to keep the judge happy so she decided to stay home on New Year’s Eve.

The gossip site also reported that Lindsay Lohan is giving up a six figure payday to avoid the New Year’s Eve circuit.  She has stated publicly that she is going to spend the evening home with friends and possibly go out to dinner before midnight.

In December the judge praised Lindsay for her great progress and publicly encouraged her to keep up the good work.  Lindsay is on probation for a 2007 DUI and in a seperate case she is on parole for stealing a necklace.

It seems as if the former Disney star is really turning a page on her troubled past.  Six months ago people were writing her celebrity obituary, and now it seems as if she is on the road back to superstardom.   It seems as if the Playboy shoot, in which Lohan did a full nude shoot in the likeness of Marilyn Monroe, really signalled a turn up from bottom.  Hugh Hefner really does hold salvation for some Hollywood starlets.

She is due to appear in court Jan. 17 for a probation progress report.

According to TMZ, Maria Shriver is reconsidering her divorce from the Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Sources are saying that Shriver is citing her deep religious beliefs and that Arnold Schwarzenegger was working hard to win her back.  He has supposedly been buying her tons of gifts and has been very sweet to her and has told her repeatedly she wants him back.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife split after revelations that he had fathered a child with one of his domestic servants during the time he was married.

Shriver filed for divorce last year citing “irreconcilable differences”  She is seeking spousal support and attorney’s fees.  Analysts have estimated that the divorce could be one of the most expensive celebrity divorces in history.  Schwarzenegger is estimated to be worth about $500 million dollars.  His wife, under California law is entitles to half of that amount.

Etta James is alive and well, despite an internet rumor that surfaced today on a site that was claiming to be part of the TMZ celebrity news network.

TMZNews reported that the “At Last” singer had died at the age of 73, having passed away from a long fight with leukemia and dementia.

It should be noted that the female in the photo on the site was not in fact Etta James. Speaking for his mom Donto James told the  Los Angeles Times:

“She’s fine. I just saw her last night, and she was fine.”

Various fans of the singer took to Twitter offering their condolences over her death, even though she was not in fact dead, tweets that fueled the rumor of her demise.

According to the real TMZ:

“Our legal department is all over it.”

That’s a lesson for all internet users, check your sources before you Tweet rumors, they tend to spread like wildfire.

As if sleeping with the husband of America’s Sweetheart didn’t make this woman hated enough, there’s always this Nazi pin-up photo shoot dug up by TMZ to serve as a character reference for Michelle McGee.

Yes, the woman blabbed to the media about her lengthy affair with Sandra Bullock’s husband Jesse James, just weeks after Bullock won her first Oscar for her role in “The Blind Side.” McGee claims that James carried out an affair with her the entire time Bullock was filming “The Blind Side,” and that was pretty awful and enough to find her distasteful. But the appearance of the pics below, coupled with TMZ’s assertion that some of her many tattoos are of the “white power” variety (image one, below) will hopefully dash any hopes this woman has of piggybacking off Bullock’s celebrity by hurting her.

Court documents questioning her fitness as a parent also allege that Michelle McGee has a Nazi swastika tattooed on her stomach. (Not visible in the pics, but the armband really says it all, doesn’t it?)

TMZ has been on a roll this year, but that doesn’t make the gossip giant immune from falling for a hoax, and today’s effort will be long remembered.

TMZ has an “exclusive” photograph up on site which is claimed to show JFK on a boat in 1956 with nude women. They’ve even rolled out “experts” to verify that the photo shows JFK, and claim that the photo “could have changed history.”

It sounds good in theory, except that the photograph comes from a November 1967 Playboy photo spread titled “Charter Yacht Party: How to Have a Ball on the Briny with an Able-Bodied Complement of Ship’s Belles,” and shows a model on the boat, not JFK.

The Smoking Gun has the details here, along with a side-by-side comparison of the original color photograph from Playboy (above), and the (strangely switched to black and white and now crumpled) photo from TMZ.

At the time of writing, TMZ is sticking by its story, but you’d have to think it’s only a matter of time until they pull it. For prosperity, a shot from TMZ as follows:

TMZ is branching out into sport, with the gossip blog come TV show having registered the domain name TMZsports.com

TMZsports.com is showing registered to Telepictures Productions (previous half owner of TMZ) as of December 16. Interestingly though, the domain TMZsport.com was registered by Warner Entertainment back in June this year.

The popular gossip site isn’t staying with AOL, despite AOL’s previous half ownership, although the former dial up internet provider still has its share until the end of 2010.

Oddly the domain name is currently redirecting to a Yahoo page; although pure speculation at this stage (something TMZ is good at,) perhaps a Yahoo tie-up might be in the works for TMZSports?

TMZsports would come up primarily against Gawker Media’s Deadspin.

Last night, celebrity gossip blog TMZ published a post titled “Jasmine Fiore Death Photo” that was later pulled off the site after a vicious backlash from readers in the comments on the post.

I saw the so-called Jasmine Fiore Death Photo and while extremely pixelated, it clearly showed a police officer standing next to a grey colored open suitcase on the ground with ‘something’ inside the suitcase. The contents of the suitcase were not easily recognizable as the remains of a person, but knowing the details and seeing the photo, one could easily make out the outline and color of a caucasian body.

The comments on the post were epic in their attacks with outraged people disgusted at the editors for posting something of that nature, which brings up the question: How far is too far before crossing the line? Did TMZ, known for pushing moral and ethical boundaries on a daily basis, cross that line?

As of a few hours ago, the TMZ post containing the alleged Jasmine Fiore death photo was still available online if you know where to look *coughgooglecachecough*.

As news broke of Michael Jackson’s heart attack and subsequent death yesterday, thousands of sites buckled under the load of millions of people coming online to search for the latest news.

The world’s number one search engine, Google.com, was so inundated with searches for the star’s name that it started serving error messages on some searches. Google news took automated preventative measures under the weight of the traffic and started forcing visitors to enter a captcha to view news.

Twitter.com traffic doubled almost instantly, the amount of tweets per second doubled, and peaked at a point higher than during the U.S. presidential election. Sites in Australia saw increases in traffic up to 2000% and celebrity mega-blog, TMZ.com which broke the Michael Jackson death news went offline after being crushed by the load of people trying to access the site. The Daily Mail, one of the biggest tabloid sites in the U.K., doubled their traffic after reporting the news.

And the Inquisitr, the site you’re reading now, being one of the first to report on Michael Jackson’s death after the news broke, experienced traffic spikes that caused intermittent outages and database errors.

It wasn’t just the traffic spikes and outages that were prevalent: Within hours of his death, Michael Jackson’s 1982 album, Thriller, became the number one item on iTunes and Amazon.com saw several of his works hit the top most purchased items on it’s site.

Woody Harrelson is in the news again for attacking yet another photographer, but his defense this time is completely unique.

Harrelson clashed with a photographer from TMZ.com at a New York airport Wednesday night, damaging the photographers camera. But Harrelson claims that he thought the photographer was a zombie.

“I wrapped a movie called ‘Zombieland,’ in which I was constantly under assault by zombies, then flew to New York, still very much in character,” Harrelson said in a statement. “With my daughter at the airport I was startled by a paparazzo, who I quite understandably mistook for a zombie.”

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is investigating the incident and said that it would pass it on police if it was deemed to require further action.

Harrelson is currently the subject of a lawsuit from another TMZ.com photographer he attacked outside a Los Angeles nightclub in 2006.
