“Everyday” is an app for the iPhone that makes it easy for people to take a picture of themselves everyday. The app is typically used to track slow changes as a person ages, grows their hair out, or loses weight. Alan started using the app  to simply capture a photo of himself everyday, and then he got into a bar fight.

William Wilkinson, the creator of the App, describes “Everday” by saying:

“Take a picture of yourself. Every day. Set reminders. Get into the habit. The more pictures you have, the better your Everyday app will be. Make a movie. You’d be surprised how great the effect of a time lapse video of your face can be. Watch yourself change, just like a real person.”

The first 8 seconds of the video show Alan in various outfits and in various locations. The video is just like thousands of others that were created with the “Everyday” app. But then at the nine second mark, Alan is shown with a black eye and a deep cut across his face.

The rest of the video shows his face as he slowly recovers from the bar fight.

“Man takes photo of his face everyday then suffers an assault with a glass. Following plastic surgey, the video tracks the progression of his healing… With regard to the assault, it was unprovoked. Case of mistaken identity.”

A new building, which sits on the Dongting lake in the Hunan Province of China, has plenty to boast about. It’s 30-stories tall, contains 183,000 square feet, and can withstand a magnitude 9 earthquake. But it’s most impressive statistic is undoubtedly the fact that this Broad Sustainable Building was built in just 15-days, or 360 hours.

The building was built by the Broad Group, a Chinese construction company which specializes in sustainable architecture, with prefabricated materials.

No word on how long it took to make each individual piece, but the speedy construction is still incredibly impressive.

According to the Daily Mail, Chinese builders worked around the clock to complete the 30-story building in 360 hours. It took 46 hours to finish the main structural components of the Ark Hotel and another 90 hours to finish the building enclosure.

Gizmodo reports that the Broad Sustainable Building is five times more earthquake-resistant than conventional buildings. The building also has air quality monitoring in every room and a 3-stage filtration air conditioning process that creates air more than 20 times as pure as the outside air in China.

The building was built over Christmas and was finished just before New Years Eve.

And this isn’t the Broad Group’s first attempt at quick building. The Broad Group created the Ark Hotel, a 15-story building, in just 6-days last year.

DeFrees traveled from New York to California over two-month this Summer. He snapped a picture every five seconds during his 12,225-mile trip. He has album after album on his website that you can sort through, but the highlight has to be the 5-minute cross country time-lapse.

“I recently returned from a 12,225 mile roadtrip around the United States. During my trip I summarized each day in photos using the iPhone apps “Picframe” and “Instagram”. When I was traveling in my car I was shooting photos from my Canon 60D every 5 seconds with an intervalometer. When I was parked for the night or exploring an area on foot I was constantly timelapsing.”

I’ll admit I’m a sucker for timelapse clips, but this Los Angeles timelapse film is the best I’ve seen for a while.

Extraordinarily well taken using a Canon 20D, and the music is spot on. It’s a little long, but well worth it. There also seems to be some footage of San Francisco as well in one part..oh well, it adds to the value.
