The workers at ThinkGeek are always coming up with new and exciting gadgets that are outside the bounds of typical electronics and this time they have one-upped themselves with an electronic drum machine that’s literally built into a t-shirt.

Know as the Electronic Drum Machine Shirt (real creative name right!) the shirt works with the help of a drum machine, looper and nine different drum kits with seven professional grade sounds each. Among those sounds are offerings labeled Rock Drums, Retro 808, Discotek, Techno Punk, Classic Jazz, Bass Invaders, Chiptune, Zapf Dingbeats and Scratchy.

Anyone who wears the shirts can loop sounds together and then build and layer beats over an unlimited number of tracks up to three minutes in length.

With polyphonic capabilities users will love the ability to produce sounds from all seven pads at once if they choose or while pressing any combination of multiple pads at one time.

To play back the music in real time a mini amp is included along with an analog audio output jack.

The shirt requires four AA batteries and the drum pad is removable so the shirt can be washed.

$30 is a small price to pay and that’s all it takes to own the electronic drum kit shirt.

Here’s a video demonstrating the t-shirts capabilities:

Are you going to pick up your own electronic drum machine t-shirt anytime soon?

The geniuses at ThinkGeek have done it again, this time offering the iPad-based iCade gaming cabinet that turns your modern marvel into a retro-styled 80s arcade unit.

As shown in the picture above the users iPad easily slides into the cabinet at which point a classic joystick with arcade buttons are used to control cabinet friendly games.

The system was made in partnership with ION Audio and supports iPad and iPad 2 devices and can even support cases for both units as long as the screen and docking port are accessible.

In terms of connectivity the docking station uses two AA batteries and your iPad connects via bluetooth.

Users can download and play more than 100 Atari games which have been licensed for the iCade and are available via the Atari’s Greatest Hits app. Users who purchase the iCade and download the app will also receive Missile Command for free, while most games come in packs of three to four for just $1 or 100 games for $15.

The iCade is only available in limited quantities and is currently selling for $100, in the meantime you can check out the video below to see the iCad in action.

Not bad for a system that was thought up as an April Fools joke in 2010.

As this shirt works for both avid Foursquare users and fervent Foursquare haters, it’s a very win-tastic addition to the ThinkGeek collection.

“Your Mom” is a classic comeback, which makes it shirt-worthy in and of itself, but the ThinkGeek copy gets much more out of the whole pre-internet yo’ momma meme, throwing down all geek-style:

I hear you get a discount with that, too.

You would not believe how many people have checked in at Your Mom in the past month. I keep getting bumped from my mayorship, so I have to go check in again. Such a pain in the a**. (That’s what she said.)

And, on Foursquare check-ins in general:

So on foursquare there are places you want to check in and there are places you don’t want to check in, even to raise your ranking on the leaderboard. You don’t want to be the mayor of your prostate doc’s office, your gyn, or your colon hydrotherapy spa. That’s all stuff the world is better off not knowing. Don’t check in at the local jail before they confiscate your goods. Even if you’re staying overnight. And you don’t want to check in at your local rehab facility (we’re looking at you, Mayor Charlie Sheen). Although if your friends suddenly all check in, you might consider whether they could be staging an intervention on your behalf.

The shirt is unisex (aside: please stop doing this, retailers! It is not compatible with tittehs) and available at ThinkGeek- $15.99, or $17.99 if you’re chubby.

ThinkGeek, a web retailer of general geekware, usually comes up with some pretty awesome fake stuff on April Fools Day, which is a major holiday on the internet.

Among this year’s pranks was Canned Unicorn Meat, and while the product’s page is still up, placing it in your cart redirects you to giant words indicating the product isn’t real. Apparently this and the fact that unicorns don’t exist, in County Meath or anywhere else, escaped some lawyers working on behalf of the National Pork Board. A cease & desist letter was sent to ThinkGeek on behalf of the National Pork Board due to this portion of the page’s copy:

Pâté is passé. Unicorn – the new white meat.

Excellent source of sparkles!

Unicorns, as we all know, frolic all over the world, pooping rainbows and marshmallows wherever they go. What you don’t know is that when unicorns reach the end of their lifespan, they are drawn to County Meath, Ireland. The Sisters at Radiant Farms have dedicated their lives to nursing these elegant creatures through their final days. Taking a cue from the Kobe beef industry, they massage each unicorn’s coat with Guinness daily and fatten them on a diet comprised entirely of candy corn.

ThinkGeek has kindly posted the whole legal threat for users to point and laugh at, and issued a press release, saying use of the term is protected as parody:

“It was never our intention to cause a national crisis and misguide American citizens regarding the differences between the pig and the unicorn,” said Scott Kauffman, President and CEO of Geeknet. “In fact, ThinkGeek’s canned unicorn meat is sparkly, a bit red, and not approved by any government entity.”

The web retailer has offered up a coupon code for $10 off $40 purchases to smooth over any hurt feelings over porkgate:

We’d also like to extend a special discount to everyone we offended with our portrayal of Unicorn Meat as “the other white meat.” For a limited time, take $10 off any order of $40 or more by using the code PORKBOARD at checkout, good until 6/30/2010 at 11:59PM ET.

Is anyone else dying to know how much this cost the National Pork Board in lawyer’s fees?

I’m all for portable charging solutions, especially when they can be easily attached and forgotten about, which is exactly what the ThinkGeek Wrist Charger is capable of doing.

The Wrist Charger slides around the smallest part of the users wrist/lower arm and then connects miniUSB-supporting devices directly to the battery.

It’s not going to provide you with days of use, but the 1,500mAh battery can definitely keep your kids quite for a bit longer while on road trips while they play with their handhelds and you won’t lose that important phone call when the “low battery” message starts popping up.

You can pick up your very own Wrist Charger now at ThinkGeek for $35 [ThinkGeek via Gizmodo]

The internet has facilitated April Fools Day pranking to a much larger degree than was previously possible, and each year a few retailers can’t resist getting in on the action.

Starbucks gently poked fun at its own silly beverage sizing with the introduction of the Plenta™ (128 fl oz) and Micra™ (2 oz) cups:

Plenta™ (128 fl oz) and Micra™ (2 fl oz) cups arrive in Starbucks stores this Fall. Derived from Italian word for plentiful or small, the Plenta™ delivers coffee lovers record amounts of the world’s finest coffee beverages while the Micra™ delivers a quick and satisfying morsel of goodness.

Recognizing the potential impact the Plenta™ presents for municipal waste collection, Starbucks is also suggesting several subsequent uses for the Plenta™ cup post coffee enjoyment. Suggested usage options include popcorn receptacle, rain hat, perennial planter, lampshade or yoga block. The Micra also serves as a convenient milk dish for kittens, soft boiled egg cup or paper clip holder.

Apparently yuppie retailers are all about the April Fools action, because Whole Foods got in on it as well, and extensively. In addition to the introduction of action figures for stores called “Patchouli Pam” and “Eco Suave,” the crunchy granola retailer trumpeted the addition of a new mobile app that transmits a “healthy electric shock” when users consider eating objectionable foods. Also added to the homepage were a “burn it to earn it” program with in-store treadmills, a new crop circle produce sourcing initiative, and some funny recipes and blog posts including one entitled “Boiling Water: You’re Doing It Wrong.”

The upcoming iPad is a big target of pranky merch this year, and ThinkGeek pulled their annual trick of making something up out of thin air that everyone actually really wants with their iCade iPad dock. The idea, it seems, is that no one really knows why they want the iPad so badly or what to do with it, but they ended up just making the most awesome looking dock of all time.

Of course, you don’t even need to buy a iPad, what with the iPhone to iPad converter for the bargain price of £89.99.

Finally, artsy business card creator Moo confused users with the introduction of “Back to Front” Business cards:

In the past, people have been wowed by the colour, the designs, the beautiful images on cards printed by MOO. Now with our exciting new updates, your contacts can marvel at the length of your phone number, or your twitter username before they even look at your images!

Perhaps your email address is a bit funny? Share this with potential new business partners from the word go, with MOO’s Limited Edition Back to Front Business Cards. (Or as some of the crazier MOO Crew are calling them, Front to Back Business Cards!)

Squeez Bacon is appropriately listed under ThinkGeek’s “Wacky Candy (and Bacon)” category. If your mouth is already watering at the thought, just wait till you watch this video explaining how the stuff came to be:
