Terrell Owens’ new Football team is located in the Dallas area but it’s not the Dallas Cowboys, that’s because he’ll be playing in the Indoor Football League for the Allen Wranglers located in Allen, Texas.

Owens announced his places to play for the IFL on his twitter account and also announced that he would be a co-owner of the team.

Some of his competitors? The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks and Colorado Ice, teams that are a slight step down from his 2010 season with the Cincinnati Bengals where he caught 72-passes before tearing his ACL during the offseason.

In October I reported about Owens holding an NFL team workout in which no coaches or personnel attended.

Speaking about its decision to bring Owens into the fold owner Jon Frankel said:

“I want to make the Allen Wranglers the No. 1 attraction in Collin County.”

It’s still not known of Owens will travel with the team or only appear in home games, the teams season begins on February 25.

Sure it’s not the NFL but the fine people of Texas love them some Football and Owens loves him some attention so this could be a match made in heaven, or perhaps one step down from heaven as it currently stands.

Terrell Owens is an out of work NFL free agent and while he may not be making any extra money at the moment he might soon be forced to pay out $35,000 in unpaid child support.

The former Cincinnati Bengals player was slapped with court papers this week by three women; Melanie Paige Smith, Samelia Millier and Kimberly Floyd.

Melanie says in her court filing that Owens has failed to pay her a recent $5,000 monthly payment and she claims he also missed two other payments in 2011.

Joining in the court battle are Samelia Miller and Kimberly Floyd who claim that Owens owes them a combined $30,000.

Smith filed her lawsuit in George and her lawyer, Randall M. Kessler said in a statement regarding the lawsuit:

“Our client only filed as a last resort . . . she hopes it will not get to the point where the judge will incarcerate him and that he will simply pay the support he agreed to. We hope so too.”

According to Kessler the last time he tried to serve Owens he was in Atlanta shooting a TV show, after being served by a processor Owens flew to LA but never once visited with his daughter.

Each of the women are suing Owens in separate lawsuits.

It should be noted that Terrell Owens could be reaching closer to bankruptcy after he was forced to sell his Dallas condo for$350,000 less than he paid for the $1.95 million home he purchased just three years earlier.

Are you surprised by Owens’ actions? Given his “me first” attitude on the football field I can’t say it’s much of a surprise.

NFL free-agent Terrell Owens was issued an arrest warrant this week after he failed to appear in court over child support payments.

According to Owen spokeswoman Diana Bianchini the wide receiver tried to reschedule his Oct. 24 hearing in Contra Costa County Court because of a televised workout meant to revive his career, a workout which ended up drawing no attention from NFL teams.

Owens is currently seeking to change the terms of his child support in which according to his rep he is currently being forced to pay an amount based on his 2007 Dallas Cowboys earnings which at the time was $12 million per season.

Currently Terrell Owens is not drawing a salary and has been nursing an ACL tear after playing in 14 games for the Cincinnati Bengals last season in which he scored nine touchdowns while completing 72 receptions.

Do you believe child support laws should be changed to reflect a persons yearly income without the need for multiple court appearances?

Terrell Owens performed a set of standard workout routines on Tuesday at Calabasas High School in California and while the practice was televised no NFL teams showed up to check in on Owens and the progress he has made since tearing his ACL six months ago.

After the practice concluded Owens’ agent Drew Rosenhaus said tapes of the workout would be sent to every single NFL team.

Owens began his workout at 11 a.m. PT and it lasted for approximately one hour. During his workout Owens performed a series of different agility drills and the 38-year-old made it through the routine showing no major side effects from his surgery although he did appear winded and took breaks between each drill.

At the conclusion of his drill he said:

“I feel good, this is actually shorter than what I’ve been going the last couple weeks, so I feel good,” while adding, “It’s been challenging from a physical standpoint to get my knee back to where it needs to be for me to have the confidence to go out here to run and cut.

“This is what I’ve been training for. I’m not worried about the naysayers saying I’m wasting my time — I think what I showed today speaks for itself.”

Given the extended breaks in his routine some naysayers still believe Owens has more work to do before returning to the NFL, as NFL Network analyst Charles Davis said:

“As I pointed out a moment ago, I’m firmly convinced that when he runs things for a team, these drills will have to move a lot faster. Right now, this is just an audition, get it on tape. … This is simply, ‘I’ve had the surgery, I’m Ok.’”

In the meantime Owens noticeably skipped speed drills including the 40-yard and 60-yard dash, both important aspects when judging a receivers abilities.

If Owens is to be picked up during the 2011 season it will likely be from a playoff contending team in need of a veteran receiver to fill in any holes in their offense, who that team will be it’s too early to tell.

Do you think Terrell Owens can make an NFL comeback after coming off an injury at his age?

During the offseason free agenct wide receiver Terrell Owens underwent knee surgery and now he says his return to the league could happen in “a month or less.”

With rumors circulating that the 37-year-old receiver would retire following his surgery Owens says he plans to return before season’s end and that he’ll “be even better next year.”

Last season Owens pulled down 72 receptions for the Cincinnati Bengal, good for nine touchdowns and 983 total yards.

While Owens has made some amazing plays over his 13 seasons he has also alienated various quarterbacks and team players. Given his surgery, his age and his ability to cause tensions on NFL teams there’s a chance that much like Randy Moss during this past NFL season he could be sent into forced retirement.

According to Bleacher Report there’s at least one team who might be interested in his services:

Washington, off to a surprising 3-1 NFC East division lead, lacks a larger, physical wide receiver and is always willing to make a splash via free agency. It is hard to say if the Redskins would take the chance of muddling their chemistry after they just cleared their roster of Albert Haynesworth and Donovan McNabb.

In the meantime whether or not Owens is picked up could depend on an extensive physical exam by interested teams.

Do you think Terrell Owens can return to the NFL at 37-years-old following knee surgery and still make the type of impact that has helped him win games for his former teams in the past?

NFL star and chronic free agent Terrell Owens has undergone knee surgery to fix an offseason injury that will likely put him out of commission until late November.

The five-time All-Pro wide receiver became a free agent after ending his season with the Cincinnati Bengals and is said to have completed the knee procedure within the last month after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament.

The injury occurred when Owens was filming a television show for VH1 according to one source, while another source told ESPN that the injury occurred during a personal workout.

You may recall that Owens also tore the cartilage in his left knee on Dec. 19.

Terrell Owens has signed a contract to play with the Cincinnati Bengals this year. Since receiver was not a need for this team I don’t really understand this move. I also have a big problem with having too attention seeking, me first receivers on the same team. Sure Carson Palmer is a great NFL QB, but can he throw enough balls to keep both TO and Chad what ever is last name is this year happy? I kind of doubt it. I also would not want to have Owens in my locker room. Sure he kept his head down last year, but in the Bengals locker room he may revert back to the TO he has been in the past.

It seems kind of weird that T.O. got a pretty decent contract out of the notoriously cheap Bengals. His has a base contract for 2 million dollars, and he can earn another two million in incentives. The incentives are reported to be for yards, TD’s and receptions. What TO as left to over may be up to debate. He had a pretty rough 2009 with the hapless Buffalo Bills, but in the Bengals scheme he might get more chances.

I think the Bengals made this move because they don’t think Antonio Bryant is going to be all that he can be. In fact they are looking to place Bryant on the PUP list (physically unable to perform) to start training camp. Given the fact that they owe him 28 million bucks over the next four seasons I wonder if he will last long on the Bengals roster.

What is for sure is the Palmer will have two big time receivers and a rookie TE to throw at for the coming season. I would assume that means we will see a high energy passing attack for the Bengals in 2010.

It doesn’t look like Terrell Owens will resign with the Buffalo Bills, so the question becomes where will he sign? Chad Ochocinco seems to think that he will join him with the Cincinnati Bengals. While that could be a tremendous receiving corps, it would be a move destined to blow up in the faces of teh Bengals front office staff.

Sure The Bengals are known for giving guys with questionable character a second (or 11th) chance, but having tow guys with egos the size of aircraft carriers competing for balls and attention simply will not work. While both of these guys are pretty good receivers, they both need to have the spotlight on them, and they do not like sharing it.

There are some, including ex Bengals QB Boomer Esiason, who not only think this is bad idea, but think that the Bengals should move on with Chad as well. This is a hard argument to figure out. Chad makes the Bengals a whole lot better, but the baggage that comes with him can often be very distracting. In the end the Bengals have to decide if they want to use the team to feed his ego, or use their energy to improve their football team.

Right now it doesn’t seem that the team can accomplish both of these things. The Bengals are a very good team, and Marvin Lewis has done a pretty good job in 2009 of getting the most out of them. However, if the best he can do his a early exit from the playoffs then changes have to be made. It seems that Ochocinco could be on the top of that list.

The NFL Trade has come and gone, and all though there were a lot of rumors this year about a lot of players wanting to be moved there was little to no actions. The real problem here is the NFL trade deadline is far too early in the season. At this point in the season we really only know who the really bad teams are, and these teams usually do not have any one worth trading a draft pick for. More simply at the mid point of October, not enough NFL team are out of it so they hang on to their players thinking they can still make a run at the playoffs.

This year it seemed that there were enough terrible teams, and enough talent not producing on their current teams that a few deal could get done. The most significant of those was Terrell Owens in Buffalo. T.O. has not been the factor the Bills though he would be, and it seems that their problems are larger than what a player like T.O. could compensate for. Since he is on a one year deal he looked attractive, and the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens seemed interested. Since he has not rocked the boat up there, and helped the team sell, tickets and merchandise the Bills were content to keep him.

It is kind of interesting that The Raiders didn’t make a move for a QB. Jarmarcus Russell is clearly not the answer for them, and Brady Quinn form Cleveland was available. The problem there is the Browns have given him every chance to beat Derrick Anderson for the starting job, and he has failed to do so.

It also seemed that the San Diego Chargers were ready to deal LB Shawne Merrimen. However with a hurt groin, many in the NFL are uncertain he will ever be the player he once was. In the end the coming NFL draft is, supposed to be one of the deepest drafts in NFL history and teams were unwilling to change significantly their approach for 2009.

It seems there will never be an end for Terrell Owners and his need for drama. Now, after missing four weeks of practice due to a toe injury new Buffalo Bill Owners says he isn’t the biggest fan of the plan to use the no huddle offense. While it is still unclear if Owners is unhappy with the offense, his limited participation in it, or the fact that this offense is going to make him work hard, an unhappy Owens is something the Bills cannot afford right now.

During a press call with members of the press that cover the New England Patriots Owners made several comments about the offense that are somewhat hard to interpret. Of course the worst fear is this is the opening shot of an offensive by TO against his new team.

To be perfectly honest The Bills pre-season hasn’t exactly gone to plan. They recently fired Offensive Coordinator Turk Schnonert. Who immediately went to the press and accused Head Coach Dick Jauron of wanting a Pop Warner offense. Then the team cut LT Langston Walker as a move to help shake up the offense. In 15 pre-season possessions the starting offensive unit managed only three points.

Now the offense will be led by new OC Alex Van Pelt, who was a career back up QB in the NFL who played a large amount of his career with the Bills. The O line will be anchored by their two rookie draft picks, Eric Wood and Andy Levitre. Demetrius Bell will not start at LT after not playing a game in his rookie season.

This is not a recipe for victories or a recipe to keep a potential cancer like TO happy and content.

The Buffalo Bills have signed controversial former Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens on a $6.5 million, one year contract.

Owen’s agent Drew Rosenhaus confirmed the news, telling ESPN “When you have a great player like Terrell Owens, it shouldn’t take a very long time to get him signed. It was clear to us that Buffalo was the best opportunity and the team that wanted him the most and the team he wanted the most. They wanted to add a superstar to the mix.”

Owens brilliant form on the field, holding second position in the all time highest number of touchdowns, has been mixed with on and off-field controversy at every team he’s played with, including an attempted suicide in 2006.

Bills owner Ralph Wilson said in a written statement “We are happy to announce that we have signed Terrell Owens to our team. We all know of his tremendous ability and look forward to what he will bring to our offense. This is a very exciting day for the Buffalo Bills.”
