I just wanted to take a moment and say “Shame on you James Cameron” Skynet did not “Go Live” today and begin the inevitable destruction of mankind as you promises.

In what can only be described as shear boredom for millions of internet users today “Skynet” began trending on the web.

You may recall that during the Sarah Connor Chronicles the date when Skynet would launch and begin the termination of mankind was April 19, 2011 at 20:12 (8:12pm).

Cameron even took time out of his busy schedule to tell TMZ:

“ Kyle Reese said in the first film that it was only ‘one possible future.’  Clearly, not the one we’re in.  Maybe Kyle, Sarah, John and the T-800 changed things enough to steer us away from that possible future.”

Cameron continued with a bit of retrospection on our current society and new problems that have taken center stage since the Terminator series began, “Now instead of nuclear war and the machines taking over, we need to worry about global climate change.  And the machines taking over.  With everybody going through their lives bent over their Blackberries all day long, you could even argue the machines have already won.”

Okay so maybe Cameron didn’t change the date for the TV series by himself, but he did create The Terminator, hence, James Cameron lied, he’s like the Miss Cleo of my movie universe…Sigh.

Just kidding Cameron, just don’t make the same broken promises in Avatar 2.

Okay so maybe the cute looking little green robot isn’t the Terminator but according to Eric Talmadge; an Associated Press writer, when the little robot isn’t tasting wine it’s deciding what humans taste like. The robot developed by researchers at NEC Systems Technologies to be able to taste and identify dozens of different wines, cheeses and hors d’oeuvres.

As popular as this little wine steward might be on the jetsetting circle the interesting result of this bot’s tasting was when it came to humans. Like when a reporters hand was placed in front of the very expensive left arm which contains the sniffing infrared spectrometer

When a reporter’s hand was placed against the robot’s taste sensor, it was identified as prosciutto. A cameraman was mistaken for bacon.

Lucky for us humans there are no real plans to market the little guy, so we’re safe from being served up for some robot banquet breakfast for a while to come.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will be back for the second half of its second season, after being renewed by Fox.

The show debuted in January to strong ratings, but was under threat after lower ratings for its second season, which debuted in early September.

Fox has ordered 9 more episodes to be shown in the first half of next year on the basis that Fox shows do better while American Idol is on air, and the network believes it can grow the shows audience, according to Reuters.

The spin-off from the Terminator movie series has a die-hard following among some sci-fi fans.
