The Twilight finale swept the 2013 Razzie Awards in a ceremony held on Saturday night.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 walked away with seven Razzies, although the accomplishment is not a cause for celebration. The sole purpose of the Razzies, presented by the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation, is to shine a spotlight on the worst movies of the year.

Traditionally held the night before the Academy Awards, the Razzies serve as an amusing alternative to Hollywood’s biggest night of cinematic appreciation.

In previous years, big-name stars such as Halle Berry have even turned up at the ceremony to cheekily accept their award.

The Los Angeles Times writes that the last film in the Twilight saga dominated the Razzie Awards this year. Breaking Dawn – Part 2 won in the worst picture category, towering above films such as Battleship, A Thousand Words, and That’s My Boy.

Breaking Dawn – Part 2 also took away awards for worst screen ensemble and worst remake, rip-off, or sequel. Bill Condon was given the honor of worst director for the film.

Kristen Stewart was deemed worst actress, winning for her work in both Twilight and Snow White and the Huntsman.

Taylor Lautner topped the worst supporting actor category, in addition to his win alongside co-star Mackenzie Foy for worst screen couple.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Adam Sandler was one of the few non-Twilight winners of the night, taking the top spot in two categories. Along with his worst actor win for That’s My Boy, Sandler and the film also netted a Razzie for worst screenplay.

It didn’t set a new, domestic franchise record, but make no mistake The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 made an absolute killing this weekend.

Dominating box offices and the public’s entertainment conversation, the finale installment in the wildly successful vampire-human-werewolf series took $ 340.9 million worldwide.

Specifically, $ 141.3 million of that came from 4,070 theaters across the US and Canada, while $ 199. 6 million was taken in 61 international markets.

Notably, Breaking Dawn – Part 2 scored the second highest opening weekend for the franchise, coming in behind New Moon’s $ 142.8 million record in 2009 but ahead of Breaking Dawn — Part 1’s $ 138.1 million in 2011.

After a robust start in Thursday late night showings through to Friday midnight which generated $ 30.4 million — the highest midnight run for the franchise — a frontloaded Friday haul racked up $ 71.9 million.

Saturday added another $ 41.8 million and a further $ 27.6 million is estimated from Sunday’s box office.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, this weekend was “the best global opening in the history of the franchise, thanks to massive international business.”

And the milestones kept coming.

As well as hitting a new franchise record for international box office, Friday’s $ 71.9 million opening day (including late night/midnight run) was the sixth highest opening day in history.

Breaking Dawn – Part 2′s box office overall also delivered the eighth highest opening weekend of all time and — along with The Hunger Games’ debut this year — pushed Summit’s parent studio, Lionsgate, past $ 1 billion at the box office. A first for Lionsgate.

Interestingly, director Bill Condon’s closer installment drew more male viewers than previous saga films — 21% of ticket sales. Other statistics revealed 50% of the audiences were aged 25 and above, reflecting the cross-generational appeal of the franchise.

Anticipation for the finale was stoked by a massive promotional tour and premieres around the world with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and the rest of the cast.

Thanks to the fans who came out for Breaking Dawn – Part 2 in a big way, The Twilight Saga goes out with its head held high. Love it or loathe it, female moviegoer consumer power will never be underestimated again.

‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2′ Punches Second Highest Opening Weekend For Franchise: Eighth Best Debut Of all Time is a post from: The Inquisitr

After all the speculation The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 broke its own franchise record at the box office last night.

Deadline reports that the final film in the quintet series surpassed its previous Thursday night-Friday midnight record and took $ 30.4 million in North America.

The new record beats the $ 30.25 million earned by The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 last year in late night/midnight screenings.

That film went on to take $138.1 million domestically in its opening weekend before ultimately banking $705.1 million worldwide.

A spokesman for Summit Entertainment said:

“The movie is off to a fantastic start.”

Now that the figures for Thursday night/midnight are in, all eyes will be watching to see how director Bill Condon’s finale installment performs over the rest of the weekend.

The closing chapter in the wildly successful vampire franchise has already racked up $ 38.8 million overseas.

Box office analysts are predicting Breaking Dawn – Part 2 could earn up to $ 150 million in North America and topple the $ 142. 8 million domestic record currently held by the second film in the series New Moon.

[Update: Deadline reports that Breaking Dawn - Part 2 is "running behind" Part 1's $ 138.1 million domestic debut and is expected to cap at around $135 million this weekend for US-Canada, $65 million of that belonging to Friday night].

The series’ leads Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner took their final bow today at the last premiere in Berlin.

Meanwhile, the number crunching continues as The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 opens in a total of 61 foreign markets this weekend.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner brought star wattage to London’s Leicester Square on Wednesday night for the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2.

Against a backdrop of Christmas lights and the screams of over 6000 fans, the three stars worked their way down the red carpet signing autographs and taking pictures with fans, as well as giving press interviews.

Stewart, wearing her second Zuhair Murad creation in three days, dazzled in a sheer black lace jumpsuit with beadwork and plunge back detail.

Opting for a tousled hairstyle rather than the stylized look she debuted in Los Angeles, the effect was daringly modern.

Pattinson kept it classic in a tailored, deep blue Burberry suit, while Lautner went for a navy Z Zegna ensemble.

Looking visibly relaxed and comfortable with each other, Pattinson and Stewart were pictured holding hands at several points during the evening, which should finally silence the ‘are they/aren’t they?’ debate.

During the round of red carpet interviews, Stewart was asked by the event’s host — TV presenter Alex Zane — how it felt receiving such a rapturous reception.

“Oh man, it’s so not normal for any actor, for any person, to share something like this,” the actress replied. “This is a weird night, I don’t know, I’m so happy that every single bit of the story is done.”

Later asked what she would take away from playing her Twilight Saga character Bella, the 22-year-old told film outlet Heyuguys:

“It’s hard to put your finger on something like that to be honest.” She added, “It coincided with a very formidable few years — 17–21 — a lot goes on during that time.”

Pattinson and Lautner were also asked about their The Twilight Saga experience. The Brit actor told Zane:

“For me, it’s changed everything about my life. I don’t even think I’d be acting if I wasn’t doing this.”

Put on the spot about which scene out of the whole series was especially memorable, the 26-year-old admitted that the harrowing birth scene in Breaking Dawn — Part 1 was “one of the most hilarious things I’ve ever done.”

Not forgetting the fans who helped propel him to super stardom, Pattinson joked to Zane, “Thank you guys all so much for everything over the years. You’re pretty good fans. You’re alright, you’ll do!”

Other cast members present were Myanna Buring, Jamie Campbell Bower and Judith Shekoni. Director of both Breaking Dawn installments, Bill Condon and producer Wyck Godfrey also attended.

A less circus-esque affair than Monday’s L.A premiere, the event featured video messages from absent cast members such as Jackson Rathbone, Elizabeth Reaser, Gil Birmingham and Daniel Cudmore.

Non-Twilight stars at the event included Olympic medalist Rebecca Addlington, Peaches Geldof, X-Factor contenders Union J and James Arthur, some of the cast of UK reality show The Only Way Is Essex, and girl band The Saturdays.

Towards the end of the night, Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner joined the rest of the cast on the balcony above the Empire cinema.

After a glowing introduction by Condon, Pattinson joked to the crowd below,“Thank you very much and just be thankful you’re next to a Burger King.”

Capping the evening, Lautner added, “This is amazing. We’ve been coming here for four years now and you guys you haven’t stopped, so thank you so much for everything.”

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart led the charge at the much anticipated Breaking Dawn – Part 2 world premiere in Los Angeles last night.

Attended by thousands of screaming, placard bearing fans — many of whom had camped for days — the black carpet event marked the first of four send-offs for Summit Entertainment’s wildly successful $ 2.5 billion franchise.

It was also the first opportunity for the entire cast of the last film in the series to come together after just over a month of international and domestic promotion.

Channeling old Hollywood glamour with a modern twist, Stewart, 22, wore a racy sheer gold-nude Zuhair Murad gown that revealed her slim figure. The actress matched her bygone era look with side swept, softly waved hair and dramatic make-up.

Pattinson, 26, wore an emerald green Gucci suit. “I had a dream about an emerald green houndstooth suit, and I got Gucci to make it,” the actor told reporters on the carpet.

Flanked by security as they arrived at the theater, the couple signed autographs and took pictures with fans individually before press interviews and joint shots on the carpet.

“I know the most go-to answer for everyone on these carpets is ‘Oh my gosh, this is so surreal,’” Stewart told the Los Angeles Times. “But to be honest with you, this time is so completely surreal. I’m trying to absorb it. I’m trying to be here.”

Her message to the fans that morphed the first, small Twilight movie into a commercial and pop culture juggernaut:

“I just wanna say. I never know what to say other than hi and thank you for – it sounds so cheesy but – taking the ride.”

In another part of the quadrant, Pattinson revealed a long running fear to MTV’s Josh Horowitz when asked how he felt about the big night:

“I’m always generally thinking ‘am I gonna get shot tonight?’ Every time I go out in public I think that. It’s really calm though this time, it’s not that crazy.”

After he was handed the winner’s award in MTV’s ‘Twi-Fight’ (most kick-ass Twilight character), Pattinson joked about beating Stewart. “Did she get second place?” he asked, laughing at the affirmative reply. “I wanna see that … someone has to call me back … when that happens.”

Taylor Lautner, third player in the saga’s’ trifecta, articulated the bittersweet feeling of the night to Reuters:

“I’m feeling fantastic, sad, emotional, there’s a lot of things going on inside of me right now but I’m just trying to soak up every moment because this means the world to me.”

Other cast members present included Billy Burke, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, Ashley Green, Mackenzie Foy, Maggie Grace, Michael Sheen, Elizabeth Reaser, Kellan Lutz and an almost unrecognizable brunette Dakota Fanning. All thanked the fans in a special ‘Fan Cam’ set up by the event’s live streaming host Yahoo! Movies.

Keenly aware of the symbiotic relationship between the fans and the characters they shaped and created, director Bill Condon and grand dame author Stephenie Meyer also had heartfelt words for the ‘Fan Cam.’ Meyer said:

“Everybody’s been saying to me tonight that ‘Oh look you’re the reason why we’re all here’ and it’s really not true. The reason why we’re here is because you guys are unbelievable [...]  I cannot tell you how much of an impact you’ve made on my life and I so appreciate you.”

Among the non-Twilight stars who attended the premiere were soft rock legend Stevie Nicks, The Big Bang Theory’s Mayim Bialik, Saoirse Ronan and Elle Fanning.

After the film was screened, cast, creatives, crew and guests (in all, about 3, 500) headed to the after party inside Nokia Event Dock. Décor was themed with mini set reproductions from each Twilight movie and guests were greeted by the sight of Bella’s orange pickup truck.

The party lasted until around 01.00 am and all — including a casually dressed Pattinson and Stewart who arrived together — reportedly enjoyed a night either drinking, singing and dancing up a storm on the dancefloor.

From here, the Twilight Saga’s last hurrah moves on to premieres in London, Madrid and Berlin where they will do the whole thing again, though on a smaller scale. A pop culture phenomenon is taking its final bow. For now.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart And Cast Say Farewell At Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Premiere is a post from: The Inquisitr

The tents have disappeared, but the 2, 250 Twilight Saga fans that thronged downtown Los Angeles for the past four days haven’t gone too far.

In just a few hours, battalions of fans, press, TV crews, celebrities and the cast of Lionsgate-Summit’s $ 2.5 billion franchise will descend on the Nokia Theater for the world premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

The black — not red — carpet has already been rolled out in preparation, but if you can’t be there — fear not. Yahoo! Movies will be live streaming the event from 7.30 pm ET, 4.30 pm PT, 00.30 GMT.

If anyone’s ever heard screaming levels at previous premieres, tonight’s could threaten the sound barrier. It’s going to be mayhem outside the Nokia Theater tonight — extremely well organized — but mayhem nevertheless.

And, of course, tonight all eyes will be on Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

It will be the first red (black) carpet for the pair since revelations of Stewart’s tryst with Snow White and The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders unleashed an orgy of media — and, some fan — recrimination.

Since then the couple have reportedly reunited, and despite last minute gossip pieces in The New York Daily News and The Times all but stating that their relationship is either a sham or on shaky ground, recent comments by Pattinson and Stewart suggest otherwise.

Asked point blank whether his relationship with Stewart was “being used to market theTwilight movies,” Pattinson told The Washington Post’s Jen Chaney:

“For one thing, it would be a terrible marketing tool, and it’s not utilized very well at all. People will say anything. I’m still amazed that people even believe anything [that’s said about us].”

“I mean, it’s one of the craziest things about the whole situation, where you can see the whole — is paradigm the right word? — of celebrity gossip, celebrity culture type stuff that’s literally entirely made up.”

Likewise, Stewart pushed back in the Los Angeles Times, saying, “People are just going to write the movie version of your life and consume it the way they please.” Adding, ”But you knew nothing about my relationship before. You know less now. How could you?”

Moving on, the pageantry of four Breaking Dawn Part 2 premieres — LA, London, Madrid and Berlin — now beckons.

Almost four years to the day since the first Twilight movie was released in 2008, Meyer’s emotive, fantasy series went on to storm the young adult (and upwards) demographic. Catapulting its lead actors — and supporting ones — to uber stardom, no-one imagined such a graphically restrained love story would take such a hold of the public’s consciousness.

But it did, and the thousands that will attend the premiere tonight and the millions viewing it around the world want to celebrate that fact one last time. Unquestionably a true pop culture phenomenon, this is a collective moment to enjoy.

The promotion for the last installment of the Twilight franchise has been meticulously planned out. On again, off again, sweethearts Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have been promoting on opposite ends of the globe, most likely, because no one wants to get asked about the elephant in the room that is the affair Stewart had with director Rupert Sanders over the summer.

All parties have been mum about the affair while promoting, except for Twilight cast mate Taylor Lautner. When Cosmopolitan asked about his friend and co star Kristen Stewart’s infidelity, he weighed in on the matter. Opening up to the magazine, Lautner, 20, said, “To be honest, I’ve never been involved in any of those situations, so I don’t know [if trust can be regained]. It would be just a guess and a shot in the dark, and I don’t want to give that if I haven’t even been there myself.”

Sounds like quite the diplomatic answer on a situation that has become very public, since Stewart and Sanders released their own statements of apology to their respective significant others. Lautner later countered,”Kristen is fantastic at everything she does. I’m always proud of her.”

Although Taylor Lautner didn’t seem too sure anyone could bounce back from infidelity, Robert Pattinson decided to give Kristen Stewart another chance at love. Later on, Lautner said that he “absolutely” believes that it’s “possible” to reconnect with an ex, elaborating, “It depends on how long you were with that person. If it was a long, serious relationship, I think it’s quite easy to rekindle. I guess it depends on what damage has been done. There’s no ex out there who I’m not friends with today, and I’m extremely thankful for that.”

In his own love life, Taylor Lautner has been a bachelor since splitting from his girlfriend Lily Collins in September 2011. His previous loves include Taylor Swift, Sara Hicks, and Selena Gomez. On his own love life, he told Cosmopolitan, “If two people can be honest with each other about everything, that’s probably the biggest key to success. I like to think of myself as very loyal, and I love everyone I surround myself with, whether they’re friends or girlfriends or whatever. I love people.”

There are now only 15 days until The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 lands in multiplexes around the world.

A gargantuan amount of product has already been released, but Summit are clearly keen to mobilize fan anticipation with drip-feed reveals right up until the film’s debut on November 16.

In addition to a raft of clips, stills, TV spots, competition giveaways ,and Twitter takeovers, a tsunami of interviews are now coming out from the press junket that took place in Los Angeles last Thursday.

Tonight, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will hit up The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Jimmy Kimmel Live before walking the red carpet at a slew of premieres next week.

Now that the specter of a box-office disconnect between fans and director Bill Condon’s finale installment has been kicked to the curb with the reconciliation of Pattinson and Stewart, the push to end a $ 2.5 billion franchise on a high is well and truly on.

In an interview with Premiere magazine, Pattinson said:

“I feel like the last movie will get a better welcome. It was made for fans, it’s almost like a love letter to them. The film is funny, very tender and it doesn’t try to draw in an audience that isn’t its [audience]. You’ll see, this is exactly why it will please fans the most.”

The biggest one yet? Wouldn’t bet against it.

‘The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn – Part 2′: Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough is a post from: The Inquisitr

After a summer of speculation about an awkward Breaking Dawn — Part 2 press tour, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s first joint interviews proved the naysayers wrong.

Make that very wrong.

Sitting down with MTV’s Josh Horowitz yesterday — apart from one tumbleweed moment when Horowitz asked which of them googled themselves the most — the couple, and co-star Taylor Lautner, seemed relaxed and playful.

After a brief introduction by their host, Lautner kicked off 30 minutes of lighthearted banter. Asked the obligatory question about how he felt about the franchise coming to an end Lautner said:

“We’ve been saying ‘how is it gonna feel’ for so long that I felt like it’s been over already for like a year and a half.”

He added,

“It’s a strange feeling. I kind of don’t believe it.”

In between the ribbing and giggling, Stewart responded to a question about the present press tour being the last time the group would be interviewed together. The actress replied:

“For the last few press junkets they’ve [Summit Entertainment] have been separating everyone a lot which is silly. I think it’s more interesting to watch this [all three actors] which is why we love hanging out with you man.”

Somewhat hysterically, the pair were bashful when asked about the masks they wore to the Maroon-5 hosted Halloween party at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Wednesday night.

After seeing pictures of herself wearing a pink wig and sunglasses on the set monitor, Stewart joked, “Oh yeah, I look awesome.” Stewart protested,“That’s not fair. That’s actually really weird.”

The 22-year-old then revealed her garb was actually an homage to the ‘Alice’ character that Natalie Portman played in the 2004 film Closer.

For his part, Pattinson denied it was him in the photographs. “That’s not me!” the actor joshed, before adding that his disguise though “genuinely terrifying” was, in fact, a “$3 mask from a 7-Eleven.”

Later on in MTV’s interview Pattinson and Stewart talked about when they first met. That event took place at an audition at Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke’s apartment in 2007.

Pattinson admitted he was “crippled by self-consciousness when I doing auditions at the time.” Recalling the moment when he had to take his shirt off the Brit said, “I said to Catherine ‘if that’s what we’re being judged on, I haven’t got the job.’”

More laughs came when Pattinson recalled the fan outrage that greeted his casting. Describing the early reaction as “unanimous unhappiness,” the actor joked, “I feel like it’s kind of come full circle and they hate me again.”

Of course, it’s also well known that Stewart played a key part in approving Pattinson for the role of Edward Cullen. At one point the actress quipped, “I take full credit for both of these guys actually. Fully and completely.”

Much was made of Pattinson’s remarks about the sex scenes in Breaking Dawn — Part 2 being “ridiculous.” Stirring the pot even further, the actor joked that his scenes with Stewart were “quite like the scene where she’s [Demi Moore] doing the pottery in Ghost.”

Asked about the possibility of winning another MTV “Best Kiss” award — and adding to The Twilight Saga’s whopping 16 award stash — Stewart said, “We always really, really prepare. We execute our plan well.”

It was a busy Thursday for the three stars. As well as MTV, they also sat down with Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood and a slew of outlets at a morning press junket.

Asked by ET what the differences were between working on the first film compared to the present one, Pattinson replied:

“It felt a lot more free in the first one, it felt quite dangerous. This one you know your face is still going to be on the front of it, but you have a little bit less control, well you have a lot less control. So it’s kind of scarier.”

Talking about the sex scenes in Breaking Dawn — Part 2, Stewart mused to ET, “Every single scene in this movie culminates with some kind of kiss.” She added. “Also, the vampire aspect. You’re supposed to have this mind-blowing, inhuman experience. How do you do that?”

Moving on to Access Hollywood. Again asked how she felt about the saga coming to a close, Stewart joked:

“No, it’s not over yet. No, no, no, no! We’re still completely in it, right?”

The actress added, ”I mean it’s definitely a stage of our lives that’s come to an end, for me especially given my age —17 to 22. It’s a kind of chunk that you can margin off.”

When it came to Pattinson’s turn in Access Hollywood’s hot seat, the actor first described his Twilight tenure as “ridiculous,” before admitting that he felt “a fair amount of fear” about life after being in such a successful franchise.

“I’ve never really thought about it before, but it’s starting to become very real very quickly that it’s like nope, that’s it. I’m not going to say like, ‘Well, there’s another one coming out in the summer or on Thanksgiving or whatever.’”

The 26-year-old continued:

“When you’re part of a huge machine, it’s kind of very very gradual. I feel like I’m still 21 … and suddenly I go ‘wow.’ So every single decision I make from now on, it doesn’t reset back to when you do a Twilight movie. It’s on now.”

In an interview with E!News, Pattinson said Stewart was,”one of the reasons why I signed onto it [Twilight] in the first place. It was ‘cos of Catherine and Kristen. It seemed like it wasn’t going to be the typical teen movie.”

As for Stewart, she had only praise for her British co-star.

Asked about the chemistry between her and Pattinson, the actress told E! News, ”It’s so obvious it slaps you in the face. Any time you meet somebody who you’re like ‘I’m — we definitely need to work together.’” Then, ”I knew instantly.”

Similarly, when Yahoo Movies! asked Pattinson if he’d like to work with Stewart again, he shot back, “Yeah, definitely, yeah.” As an afterthought adding, “It probably wouldn’t be a vampire movie for a while. That’d be a bit silly.”

Just like old times? Maybe, maybe not. But if this is as good as it gets, it was far from a car crash.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is coming to a theater near you very very soon. November 16, in fact. If, in the unlikely event you don’t care or already know that, the next 14 days will be testing ones.   

Even before next week’s talk show blitz with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, the feast of clips and TV spots already released make Prometheus’ publicity campaign look almost modest by comparison.

In addition to the recent roll-out of footage designed to hype up the nostalgia factor, Tuesday’s MTV premiere of Green Day’s video for “The Forgotten” piled on the bittersweet with these chorus lyrics:

“Don’t look away from the arms of the moment
Don’t look away from the arms of tomorrow
Don’t look away from the arms of the moment
Don’t look away from the arms of love.”

Meanwhile, the march-to-world-domination — otherwise known as the Breaking Dawn Part 2 press tour — just stepped up another gear.

MTV’s much anticipated sit down with Pattinson, Stewart, and Lautner will air later and a three day press junket in Los Angeles kicked off earlier today.

Now that numerous journalists will have seen the last installment ahead of the junket, it will be interesting to see if they agree with recent comments by the lead actors about the bizarre nature of director Bill Condon’s finale.

In an interview with Melody Times (France), Pattinson said:

“This film is nothing like the other previous four. Vampires are really superbizarre dudes.”

Co-star Stewart added:

“Let me tell you, this movie is very [different]. And that’s a compliment. Breaking Dawn — Part 2 is really bizarre.”

For those that can’t make the world premiere at the Nokia Theater in L.A on November 12, Yahoo will be live streaming the event. And if you’re one of the 2, 250 that will be camping out in Tent City, who or what are you most excited to see?

With 21 days still to go before The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 juggernaut lands in theaters, the adjectives are already flying.

Deadline’s Nikki Finke reports that expected box office for the fifth film in the franchise is “tracking like [a] monster hit” and could become the “biggest of them all.”

According to the site, Part 2’s advance tickets sales are “running 16% ahead” of Part 1’s previous numbers. Finke notes:

“Not only is Breaking Dawn – Part 2 tracking better than any other film already or about to open in the domestic box office before mid-November, but it’s even better than James Bond — 72 awareness for Skyfall vs 88 for Breaking Dawn – Part 2.”

Those readings suggest the final installment could not only smash Breaking Dawn – Part 1′s $ 138.1 million opening weekend but also New Moon’s. The second film in the series — New Moon — has grossed the highest box office so far, banking over $ 709 million worldwide.

On October 1, first day advance ticket sales for Breaking Dawn — Part 2 delivered an 87% hike above comparative first day numbers for Part 1’s pre-sales. Specifically, Part 1 advance sales racked up $ 626K whereas Part 2’s tallied $ 1.17 million. Those figures were boosted by bookings for the November 15 marathon screenings of all five saga installments.

Yesterday Finke said:

“Within only a few days of advance tickets going on sale October 1st, Breaking Dawn Part 2 already represented half of Fandango’s sales for the week. Now Fandango tells me it’s 36% of today’s overall ticket sales even though it doesn’t open for 3 weeks yet — outselling this weekend’s Argo, Cloud Atlas, and Silent Hill: Revelation combined.”

Deadline insist ”awareness” of Breaking Dawn — Part 2 is the “highest” it’s ever been for the whole franchise, which will come as no surprise to anyone observing the saturation reporting of Kristen Stewart’s tryst with Snow White and The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

Add in the ongoing speculation about Robert Pattinson and Stewart’s timely reconciliation, and it’s not hard to see why the buzz for the “epic finale” is so strong. Pictures of the couple at a Prince concert last night may finally silence the cynics.

Finke writes:

“Were those Summit execs born under a lucky star or what? The pair reunited just in time for all the worldwide promotion like personal appearances and press tours. And the studio denies their reunion is a publicity stunt. ‘They’re kids. They break up. They get back together. They’re good’ one exec assures me.”

With available tickets for camping in Tent City at the November 12 world premiere at L.A’s Nokia Theater already extended to cope with demand and an intensive promotional tour now underway, it’s more than likely the hype will match the reality come the movie’s debut on November 16.

A scenario which could see Summit-Lionsgate’s $ 2.5 billion franchise sprinting to a record breaking finish. Whether Breaking Dawn — Part 2 will top Marvel’s The Avengers or The Dark Knight Rises’ opening weekends remains to be seen. But as of now, there’s everything to play for.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 promotional machine is now officially firing on all cylinders.

While the series’ ‘big three’ — Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner — rallied troops in Australia, Japan, and Brazil, Summit Entertainment has been busy unloading new product online.

Four TV spots, one featurette, and a brand new clip arrived this week. Underpinning the featurette are Part 2’s tagline and Summit’s main marketing message: “The epic finale that will live forever.”

A statement that’s beginning to sound more like an actual promise in light of recent industry talk about a spin off TV series.

Naturally, Stewart, Pattinson, Lautner, and director Bill Condon are drafted in for the featurette. But other cast members — Peter Facinelli, Michael Sheen, Jackson Rathbone and Ashley Greene — also get a look in.

Nutshelled: Part 2′s plot sees a transformed Bella reunited with Edward and their half vampire-half human daughter Renesmee.

However, the family’s joy is threatened when the Volturi, mistakenly believing the Cullens have broken a taboo by creating (i.e biting) a vampire child, launch a war against them. Cue a sort of vampire united nations convening in Forks to help the Cullens defend against the impending Volturi attack.

Pre-release product is, of course, designed to get audiences hyped to go and see the movie, but it’s likely this (for now) last installment needs little help in that department. The four TV spots, featurette, and latest clip are completely self-explanatory — after all, it’s not Bergman — so without further ado here they are.

Robert Pattinson thrilled Australian fans on Monday, but Kristen Stewart took Tokyo by storm today on day three of the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 worldwide promotional tour.

Sharply turned out in an ultra modern monochrome, Louis Vuitton one piece and strappy heels hot off the Spring 2013 runway, the actress was all smiles as she signed autographs and greeted fans on the red carpet at Kumano Shrine.

In a Q and A that took place inside, a Japanese translator fielded questions to the actress. A live stream from the event appeared to show a fair amount of empty seats, but despite this Stewart answered thoughtfully — at times — waving to members of the audience.

The 22-year-old told fans:

“I’ve rarely felt as welcome as I do when I come here so thank you … we say that everywhere we go but you guys are actually really special.”

Clearly aware that playing the role of ‘Bella Swan’ has made her uniquely relatable for young women, Stewart said of the Twilight Saga’s phenomenal appeal:

“It represents a stage of life that is so full, and it’s so full of feeling. I think that it really attracts people that have faith in those feelings and doesn’t discredit them.”

She added,

“It’s fairly rare to have a story that gives a lot of credit to young girls that haven’t figured it all out yet, but are incredibly trusting of themselves.”

When asked to explain why audiences connected so strongly with Stephenie Meyer’s emotive saga, the actress replied that if the question was easy to answer “everyone would be doing it.” She then went on to say:

“A really good, hard hitting, fundamentally charged love story is always going to fuel something inside of us.”

Undoubtedly, some will attempt to find references to the the real-life scandal involving Snow White and The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders in Stewart’s comments. But it seems more likely Stewart really was reaching out to the female constituency that powered her to the position of Hollywood’s highest paid actress.

The real life saga of Stewart’s separation then reconciliation with her partner Pattinson has dominated entertainment news cycles for most of the summer. Last week’s pictures of the couple in various L.A locations only increased media interest. But to her fans in Tokyo, none of that mattered.

Before handing out merchandise and hugs to winners of a prize draw, Stewart left fans with a gift of her own by revealing that her “favorite thing about Bella” was her “innate, really beautiful trust in her gut [instincts].”

With 22 days left until Breaking Dawn – Part 2’s release on November 16, promotional dates are now piling up. Stateside audiences will see Stewart hit the promotion trail on November 7 when she appears on Live with Kelly and Michael.

Lautner will appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on October 31, before a one day blitz on November 9 when he will guest on the Today Show, Live with Kelly and Michael, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and a pre-taped appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Pattinson is scheduled to guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live on November 5, the Today Show on November 7 and Fallon on November 8, before joining Lautner on Ellen on November 9. The rest of the cast will appear at the upcoming premieres and various fan event and press dates.

After arriving in Australia on Friday, Robert Pattinson hit the ground running today as he kicked off day one of the Breaking Dawn — Part 2 worldwide promotional tour.

The Brit attended a morning photo call and guested on a couple of radio interviews, before thrilling crowds at a red carpet ‘Special Fan Event’ in Sydney.

Held at Byron Kennedy Hall in Moore Park, Pattinson was bashful but smiley as he signed autographs and posed for the press. During a Q and A inside, reportedly the star had fans in stitches when he joked that if he hadn’t become an actor he would happily be “designing lingerie.”

More laughs came when Pattinson revealed the best moment of filming Part 2 was when co-star Taylor Lautner had to hold hands with 11-year-old Mackenize Foy. The young actress plays Renesmee, the half vampire-half human daughter of Edward and Bella Cullen (played by Pattinson and Kristen Stewart).

During a round of interviews with various press Pattinson told Ten News:

“[It] feels like quite a lot of pressure this last one.”

“You know there’s The Hunger Games and there’s other things coming out which are kind of the same market.”

The actor also had a few things to say about the moniker — “RPatz” — that has followed him like a bad smell since his 4 year rise to superstardom. Telling the Sydney Morning Herald, “I would like to break the hands and mouth of the person who came up with it.”

The 26-year-old also commented on the meta-culture that surrounds The Twilight Saga phenomenon:

“That’s the one thing I’ve been annoyed about by the whole thing … The kind of ‘team’ aspect of it — in which fans ally themselves with “Team Edward” or “Team Jacob.” It’s strange. I think that’s what has created a very strange atmosphere around how the movies are promoted and stuff.”

“It’s making it like a sport or something. People can’t really watch the films any more because they’re thinking about all this other silliness.”

Five thousand miles away, Pattinson’s other half — Kristen Stewart — landed at Tokyo’s Narita airport today ahead of her promotional duties. Debate is still raging about the context in which Popsugar released intimate photographs of the couple, and the reasons why they were later removed from Popsugar’s website. Strangely, few outlets have mentioned illegality.

Unless you’ve been studiously averting your eyes and ears from the modern world as we know it, you will be aware that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 is preparing to land in multiplexes around the world in just 26 days.

In other words, we’re at DEFCON 2. Not quite a full meltdown, but almost.

With fan anticipation peaking and many predicting that director Bill Condon’s finale could eclipse the previous 4 installments at the box office, Summit is ramping up for what it’s calling the “motion picture event of the decade.”

If that sounds like fighting talk, that’s because it is. A bona fide pop culture phenomenon is coming to an end, and it looks like the studio intends to throw the mother of all wrap parties for its $ 2.5 billion franchise.

As you might expect all sorts of good stuff is either being released or announced. Just arrived are two TV spots and a featurette packed with behind the scenes gems. These include: a newly vamped Bella and husband Edward — Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson — their half human-half vampire daughter Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy), spanking new vampire characters and a return of the regular players.

In the clip Condon says: ”You’ve been watching four movies where you see vampires from the outside, and now you get to experience what it’s like to see the world visually as a vampire might.”

Cue aerial shots of Stewart flexing her new powers and Pattinson in full-on protective father mode, plus soundbites from Ashley Greene (Alice), Michael Sheen (Aro), Jackson Rathbone (Jasper) and Peter Facinelli (Carlise).

At one point, Stewart reveals how she feels connected to the franchise that made her a superstar:

“They watch the movies for the same reason that I make the movies, because I know what it’s like to love something so much.”

Likewise, Pattinson said of the saga’s appeal: ”It gets a very visceral reaction out of people.”

Below is the first television spot. Aptly called “Four Years”, it’s basically a nostalgic look back through the series’ 4 year run.

Nutshelled: Part 2′s plot sees Bella reunited with Edward and daughter Renesmee. Their happiness is shortlived however when the Volturi — mistakenly believing a false rumor that Renesmee is an “Immortal Child” (i.e bitten) — decide the child must be destroyed. Desperately, the couple rally vampires from around the world to go head to head with the Volturi in an epic battle.

On the same day that the first TV spot was released, a  second — “Epic Finale” — was also rolled out. Reaffirming the this-is-really-it-and-this-is-totally-epic tagline one more time, Summit’s commitment to remaining on-message is predictably but reassuringly old school.

Adding to the building excitement for the global press tour are the recently confirmed publicity dates for Pattinson, Stewart and Taylor Lautner. In fact, Pattinson has already touched down in Sydney ahead of a fan event on Monday, October 22.

Lautner will be in Brazil from October 22-24 for a fan meet and greet, while Stewart hits Tokyo on October 24. And in addition to an early November press junket, Pattinson will guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live on November 5 then Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on November 8. Pattinson and Lautner will also appear on a November 9 airing of Ellen.

Throw in the premieres: November 12 at the Nokia Theatre L.A, London’s Leicester Square on November 14, Madrid on November 15 and Berlin on November 16, and no-one should be in any doubt that this is going to be one helluva opening weekend.

The jewel in The Twilight Saga crown? Pattinson and Stewart, of course. The privacy v PR photo stunt debate aside, the real-life relationship of this couple continues to fascinate, capitalize and be capitalized on by all those invested in the success of this franchise. C’est la vie.

Following the massive roll out of five posters, culminating in a sixth and final poster, in just over 24 hours, Summit have now unwrapped 15 new The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 stills.

The stills frame the entire Breaking Dawn story: Edward and Bella (reprised by Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart) come together again when Bella is transformed into a vampire after dying in childbirth.

Daughter Renesmee (newcomer Mackenzie Foy) seemed to be the happy ending to the couple’s troubles, but the fast-growing child of a vampire-human union becomes a reason for fresh conflict when the Volturi learn of her existence.

These are the bare bones of the climax to Stephenie Meyer’s epic saga. Scripted by Melissa Rosenberg and helmed by Bill Condon, the last and — for now — final installment of a $ 2.5 billion franchise that’s spawned at least two copycat TV shows, crashes into theaters this November.

The arrival of 15 stills and sheer wealth of Twilight Saga news this week, signals a hugely positive turnaround in terms of what fans and the industry can expect as Summit’s publicity shifts gears in the lead up to Breaking Dawn — Part 2′s debut.

A recently announced global tour kicks off on October 6 with multi-platformed press planned for all key cast members. Four premieres are already confirmed, and today, camping details for the world premiere at the Nokia Theater L.A Live on November 12 were released.

After Summit Entertainment ramped up anticipation for just over 24 hours with five separate poster releases, the pieces of the puzzle have now come together. The sixth and final theatrical poster for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is now online.

With a tagline that reads “The epic finale that will live forever,” it’s a neat encapsulation of the overarching theme of Stephenie Meyer’s emotive saga. Inevitably, the final one-sheet features the big three: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, but some of the new vampire characters are also shown.

Following yesterday’s announcement of a global cast tour that will take in Japan, Germany, Scotland, Australia, Brazil, South Africa, Demark, Norway, Ireland and the UK, it’s clear Summit is accelerating its “full steam ahead” promise.

In addition to the recently announced LA and London premieres on November 12 and 14, two further premieres in Madrid and Berlin (November 15 and 16 respectively) have now been confirmed. Hoyts Distribution has also revealed that Pattinson will undertake a Sydney tour later this month, appearing at a fan event on October 22.

Previous media and fan concerns about the state of Pattinson and Stewart’s relationship now appear to have abated, following multiple media reports that the couple have reconciled. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 docks in the US and UK on November 16.

Today Deadline trumped its competitors and made not one but two unequivocal announcements. First up, Nikke Finke’s exclusive that Summit would be “sending its cast on another major international promotional tour before the movie opens on November 16th.”

This was followed by a statement that the tour would see “the reunion” of “star-crossed lovers Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.”

Deadline added:

“After their separation was sensationalized around the world, the pair are back together and I hear they’re about to make some of the promotional appearances together. The fans will go nuts.”

No kidding.

On top of the recently revealed November 12 date for the world premiere of the last installment at the Nokia Theater at L.A. Live, London will also welcome Pattinson, Stewart, Lautner, director Bill Condon (Dreamgirls, Gods and Monsters, Chicago) and grand-dame author Stephenie Meyer for a premiere on November 14.

The tour proper kicks off October 14. Pattinson, Stewart, Lautner, and additional cast will hit national US talk shows and make special appearances in Australia, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Norway, Scotland, Spain, South Africa and the UK in the lead up to Breaking Dawn — Part 2′s November 16 release.

Interestingly, Deadline also report that the tour will intentionally “mirror” the final installment’s international tone, noting that in BD2 the Cullen clan reach out to vampire covens around the world as they rally for an impending attack by the Volturi, who seek to destroy Edward and Bella’s half vampire-half human child, Renesmee, played by 11-year-old Mackenzie Foy.

More than 40,000 voted, but the results are clear. For the fourth year running, the British actor wiped the floor with the competition, beating out some of the biggest names in film and television.

Pattinson  beat out names such as Tom Hiddelston (Loki in Marvel’s The Avengers), Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean), Michael Fassbender (Shame, Prometheus), Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Hawking), Robert Downey Jr. (The Avengers, Iron Man), Taylor Lautner (Abducted, The Twilight Saga), and Ian Somerhalder (Vampire Diaries).

The list of contenders goes on, but all you really need to know is Pattinson remains undefeated, which is news that could put a smile on the Cosmopolis star’s face after enduring a tumultuous summer of revelations about girlfriend Kristen Stewart and her tryst with Snow White and The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

Reports — if they can be called that — that Pattinson and Stewart have reconciled their differences and resumed their relationship continue to swirl as do competing accusations that the rumors are all part of an elaborate publicity stunt designed to boost buzz for the upcoming The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2.

But if all that “are they or are they” malarkey hurts your head, focus on this thought: Pattinson won the day at Glamour magazine and in 43 days he’ll do it again at the L.A. premiere of Breaking Dawn — Part 2 on November 12, and again at the London premiere on November 14.

If you’re a Twilight Saga fan, November 12 has your name all over it.

Summit Entertainment-Lionsgate (via the major Twilight fan sites) have announced it as the date for the world premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 and it’s all taking place at the Nokia Theater LA Live in, er, Los Angeles.

From the sound of things Summit are planning a massive blow-out for the series finale and preparing for a huge turn out. And for those who want to soak up the end-of-an-era feeling, there’s always ‘Tent City’.

Yup. Camping. For over a week. At Nokia. Some might scoff, but if you’re a die-hard fan — tarpaulin and a mobile stove is where it’s at. Make no mistake, from November 8 onwards (when campers get to pitch up) it’s going to be mental outside that theater. Atmosphere in spades and ringside positions for when Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and the rest of the enormous Breaking Dawn — Part  2 cast hit the red.

It goes without saying that this summer’s dramatic events threatened to throw a major spanner into the saga’s last hurrah, despite Summit’s “full steam” reassurances. But with Pattinson and Stewart now reportedly past the worst, the prospect of a terrific send-off for a bona fide pop culture phenomenon that’s enthralled millions for four years looks positively rosy.

Word is Summit are organizing the LA throwdown like a military campaign and campers will have to register online beforehand. Details on activities and how to get into Tent City will be revealed October 1. Information about a London premiere and other territories are still to come.

Kellan Lutz (who plays Emmet Cullen) recently amped up anticipation for the final installment when he told The Insider about an extra scene in the credits of Breaking Dawn — Part 2:

“Every film’s been building and building, and Bill Condon really had a great idea with ending the series with ‘Breaking Dawn 2,’ and just adding a little more flavor to parts of the book that weren’t there, but he elaborated more on. I think the fans are really going to enjoy it.”

An understatement if ever there was one.

And there’s more. Recent reveals from an EBook “Robert Patttinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner — In Their Own Words” authored by Paris-based US journalist Talia Soghomonian, offer poignant morsels from the series’ leads.

Asked which Twilight Saga  installment “touched” him the “most” Pattinson said:

 ”Probably that bit in the first one, just when Bella is in the hospital, and she says, ‘Don’t ever leave me again,’ and I say, ‘Where am I going to go?’ or something like that. I still think that’s kind of my favorite scene in it.”

For Stewart, who gets to revel in her transformation from human Bella to fierce vampire mother in the finale, the actress said she kept:

“All of her [Bella's] rings and stuff. I have all the bracelets, the wedding ring. I think I have a fake one, actually. I don’t think I have the real one. And I love how I don’t even know that. It’s probably sitting in some baggie somewhere, like a really big diamond.”

Comedians are known for not always acting like adults, which is part of their appeal. But Adam Sandler might have taken childishness to a new level while filming Grown Ups 2 in Massachusetts last week.

Radar Online reports a fan, Denise Kodes, tried to get Sandler’s autograph, which the star refused. She then decided to try and take a picture of the 50 First Dates star, but Sandler wasn’t up for smiling.

The Belfast Telegraph reports that Sandler saw her attempting to take his picture and sped toward her in his car. The shock of it all caused Kodes to drop her camera, breaking it.

“As I was just about to take it, [Adam Sandler's] car sped towards me and made me drop my camera,” she said. “It broke instantly, and I didn’t get a shot.”

But for some fans, neither broken camera or shattered dreams of finding out your favorite comedian is not so very nice are enough to deter them from their adoring ways. The next day, Kodes went back — with a new camera — and tried again.

“I decided to go back to the set because I wanted a photo as a keepsake,” Kodes said. “When Adam saw me he went ballistic. He said I had to leave and angrily asked why I didn’t get the picture the day before. I told him about the broken camera and said I don’t know why he’s so mean to his biggest fan. He then barked, ‘Fine, take the picture already.’ ”

Hot on the heels of Kristen Stewart’s recent assurance that cast promotion for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will be “fine,” comes even more good news for the franchise – and fans.

Today, Summit Entertainment (parented by Lionsgate) announced back to back marathon screenings of all five saga installments will take place on November 15 across theaters in North America. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will be the last film shown and will screen at 10 pm.

Depending on whether you love or hate Stephenie Meyer’s series, this news will either strike terror into your heart or unbridled joy. If you fall into the latter camp and do attend you’ll also see never-before-seen content and receive souvenir swag.

It’s a great marketing move and a sign that Summit really are locked for “full steam ahead” promotion of the series finale. As Hypable pointed out, it also means marathon ticket holders will get to see the last installment “two hours earlier than most midnight screenings in the rest of the country.”

The studio received another shot in the arm today after Fandango announced Breaking Dawn — Part 2 as the most anticipated movie based on their annual fall film survey. In addition, 51% of voters consider it the ‘Best Date Night Movie.’

No word yet on participating theaters but Summit will announce locations and ticket retailers soon. But now that it’s clear Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are working on their relationship — or at least prepared to acquiesce to a PR statement that they are — Summit’s last hurrah for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2  should be a relative breeze after weeks of dire promotion predictions.

For the millions enthralled by Stephenie Meyer’s vampire saga, the last two days have been heady ones.

Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Elizabeth Reaser, Peter Facinelli and Jackson Rathbone introduced an exclusive preview of the last The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 trailer at Thursday’s MTV Video Music Awards.

Now Summit Entertainment have released the full trailer. The result? 2:15 minutes of full on mayhem.

As already revealed, the ending of Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is different from Meyer’s literary version. An averted battle in the book will now be realized in the last installment. And from the look of the trailer director Bill Condon (Gods and Monsters, Dreamgirls, Chicago) has turned up the spectacle for the series’ last hurrah.

In part 2, Bella (Kristen Stewart) and husband Edward (Robert Pattinson) and the couple’s supernaturally fast-growing half vampire-half-human daughter Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy), are joined by a bank of new vampire characters as well as familiar ones from the last four installments.

These vampires and the wolf pack rally to the Cullens’ side when the Volturi decide to destroy Renesmee. Mistakenly believing she was transformed by being “bitten” and is thus an immortal child, the Volturi  (who, since day one, have always seemed threatened by the Cullens’ lifestyle choice to eschew humans as prey), are only to willing to head to Forks for a final showdown.

Billed as “the epic finale,” fans and general audiences alike will have to wait see how it all turns out. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 hits theaters on November 16. Watch the full trailer below.

After a fiery opening from a pixied Rihanna, Kevin Hart’s tame monologue and performances from Demi Lovato, Frank Ocean, One Direction (Best Pop Video for What Makes You Beautiful), a crazed acceptance speech from Nicki Minaj (Best Female Video for Starships), Chris Brown (Best Male Video for Turn Up The Music), then performances from Pink, 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne, and Green Day — finally — the moment arrived.

Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Jackson Rathbone, and long-standing Saga producer Wyck Godfrey walked came out onstage to introduce the final trailer for the The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

“For over four years we’ve been working together as a family for the Twilight films and this year is the epic final” Lautner said.

Pattinson added, “It’s been an amazing journey and we’d like to thank all the fans of the series for their incredible enthusiasm from the beginning until now — the final chapter.”

Then, the trailer.

The 1: 25 minute clip showed Bella (Kristen Stewart) flexing her new vampire powers: jumping ravines, taking down a mountain lion. Then, scenes of the Cullens joined by substantially more vampires in order to face the Volturi who mistakenly believe Bella and Edward’s (Robert Pattinson) supernaturally fast-growing half human-vampire daughter — Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy) — is an aberration.

Twilight fans will not have to wait much longer for a sneak peek at the new Breaking Dawn Part 2 movie. Exclusive footage of the final segment in the vampire saga will air during the  MTV Video Music Awards show tonight. The movie trailer will include scenes with an angry werewolf, Volturi, and a glimpse into the future for Alice. The characters of Edward and Bella will also be shown planning to do whatever is within their power to save their daughter, Renesmee.

The excitement of the music video contenst may take a backseat to the frenzy over the Breaking Dawn Part 2 preview at least for the plethora of Twilight fans tuning in to the MTV broadcast. The real life drama between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart does not appear to have dampenend the anticipation over the final installment of the popular vampire series.

The Twilight movie picks up after the birth of Renesmee as the Cullens gather with other vampire clans to protect the baby from the false allegations which make the family Volturi’s target. Volturi will push on with the quest to attack the happy little family. The safety of the half-vampire baby is in jeopardy as noted on a 14-second trailer published by the Huffington Post.

During the video teaser, Jacob announces in his most serious tone that he has never been afraid of vampires. Until the movie is released in November, diehard fans of the saga will simply have to satisfy their desire for blood-sucking drama with intermittent short video clips.

The Breaking Dawn Part 2 supporting cast includes Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Dakota Fanning, Jamie Campbell Bower, Kellan Lutz, and Nikki Reed, IMDB notes, as well as Michael Sheen and Mackenzie Foy. The film is directed by Bill Condon.

With 79 days left until The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 hits theaters, a new MTV Fall Movie Preview interview with director Bill Condon reveals interesting deets and what happens during downtime on a Twilight Saga shoot.

As most know by now, Part 2 picks up exactly where Part 1 ends. Bella (Kristen Stewart) now transformed into a vampire is also mom to the supernaturally fast-growing Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy) and, of course, wife to Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson.)

Understanding and adjusting to her new life and new powers, however, is only part of what Bella will have to face in this more action focused and (for now) final installment. Wyck Godfrey, one of the producers of the Twilight Saga series explains:

“Bella has finally achieved everything that she has hoped for in her relationship with Edward, only to discover that it may be her undoing.”

That “undoing” is the Volturi’s (ruling coven of the vampire world) intention to destroy Renesmee on the say so of Irina Denali, something of a major thorn in the side of the Denalis’ — and, later — everyone else. More on that here.

So, what did Bill Condon (Gods and Monsters, Dreamgirls, Chicago) actually say? Well, quite a lot. As well as revealing that Breaking Dawn – Part 2 was “at the stage of mixing and doing color timing and adding that last big bunch of visual effects shots,” Condon also talked special effects.

In the past there have been complaints about a lack of state of the art FX in the Twilight Saga films compared to other big budget movies, so this part of MTV’s interview was especially interesting.

“Oh man, there are so many [FX] that are so beautiful,” enthuses the director.

“But I love the way that Alec’s [new cast member Cameron Bright who plays one of the Volturi] mist looks. He has that mist that can make you blind, deaf and dumb, so that’s looking really good. It feels like the best Hammer [horror] movie you’ve ever seen. It’s a little different [type of mist] and sort of has tentacles that can get inside you and all that stuff.”

Sounds like Breaking Dawn – Part could give Sam Raimi a run for his money. Elaborating on Renesmee’s ‘power’ Condon says:

“There are some visual things, but a lot of that is done through Carter Burwell’s score, but then just recently in the mixing Dane Davis, who is a brilliant sound designer … had her just speak and read poetry and things like that, and he’s turned it into hundreds of tracks.”

“You don’t actually hear words but it becomes the chattering of her [voice], it’s a very abstract effect that I’ve never heard before. It’s really cool.”

The film’s run time is “one hour and 56 minutes, one minute shorter than the first one and as such, I think the shortest of all of them,” says Condon. There was more. When MTV asked the director to recall the “biggest, busiest, and most fun day on set,” he paints a fantastic picture of the end-of-term vibe the crew and cast experienced when principal shooting ended:

“The biggest and most fun, just because of the surprise they pulled off, we went to the top, top, top as far as you can get in this arena to get the widest shot of the [battle]field with the Volturi on one side and the Cullen group on the other,” says Condon.

“On the last take suddenly you hear the Eurythmics and they all start to do this intimately choreographed dance that they’d worked out. It was a huge day and the biggest party ever.”

First thoughts, which Eurythmics track was it? Possibilities: Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This), Here Comes The Rain Again, (it is terminally wet in Forks after all), There Must Be An Angel Playing With My Heart, Who’s That Girl?

Next, what did the dance-off look like? Fortunately, audiences will get a chance to see for themselves. Asked if the Breaking Dawn flash mob made it onto the DVD, Condon utters the magical words:

“I think it is, yeah.”

The countdown to The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 continues. Current status? 97 days to go.

Much has been written about how the promotional tour will go because of the storm now engulfing Pattinson, Stewart — and to a lesser extent Liberty Ross and Snow White and The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders — but the truth is no-one really knows.

Handled right, it could be a surprise breeze. If not, a train wreck. Or anything in between. It all depends on what happens between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart from here on out.

In Entertainment Weekly’s latest Fall Movie Preview issue, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner talk on-set fun, new endings and what they took from the Twilight experience. Oh, and there are a bunch of new stills too.

Given that EW’s chat with the trio was at this year’s Comic-Con and before the present firestorm, the interview works on a couple of levels. According to EW, the group were relaxed and playful during the interview. Happy but also reflective.

Asked in a separate Q and A how she felt about the approaching finish line, multi-million selling author Stephenie Meyer said,

“I’ve been holding off the sadness but it’s starting to get to me. I miss everyone – Kristen, Taylor and Rob. I’m used to seeing them everyday.”

Interesting reveals followed from the big three.

For Lautner, what “stuck” with him from the Saga experience was, “how passionate and persistent Jacob is about what he loves and what he wants.”

“It’s strange,” Pattinson said, reflecting on his character Edward. “All through the series it’s like ‘Hey this guy is trying to be sensible! Let’s think this thing out,’ And everyone is like, ‘F*k you!’”

Pressed by Stewart to go deeper the Brit said, “Don’t be pragmatic. Be an emotional idiot.”

When it came to her turn, Stewart talked about life in the glare of uber fame. “I’ve never been able to fully form this thing, this persona that some people are so f*ing good at.”

Before adding,

“I don’t want anyone leaving and saying ‘God, that girl is so fake.’ People tell me to make it easier on myself and to play a character when I go on carpets and stuff […] But you know what? I’d rather be me.”

Lighter relief comes when talk turns to Chuckesmee. The mechanical substitute for Renesmee — Edward and Bella’s preternaturally fast-growing daughter — who didn’t make it into the film or the DVD extras. Named “that robot-baby” by Pattinson and “that thing” by Lautner, director Bill Condon joked,

“It was a horror show! There was one shot where I call ‘Cut!’ and suddenly she turns her head and mechanically stared into the camera. It was incredibly disturbing.”

But what about those much talked about changes?

One alteration already known about is Breaking Dawn – Part 2′s big battle scene. In the film it actually happens, in the book it doesn’t. But the ending, re-imagined by Meyer and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, remains a secret.

In the book, last scenes see Bella telepathically ‘showing’ Edward their shared experience but from her point of view, to finally show him how true their love is. So the question is: How far off that ending will the last installment push it?

In EW’s interview Pattinson — intriguingly — says,

“When I first read the script I got to that part and was like, ‘What?’ And then I had to go back a page.” Then, “it does it a serious justice.”

And back in May producer Wyck Godfrey promised,

“For those that have followed these movies from the beginning to end … there’s a great final moment where you do get to kind of relive the entire experience, and I think that’ll be something fans can look forward to.”

So that doesn’t sound too far off the book ending.

Whatever the denouement turns out to be, the actors who get to bring it to life seem more than satisfied.

“The very end of the movie [...] it’s very, very sentimental,” says Pattinson, “but I didn’t expect myself to react the way I did to it. […] Bill Condon did this amazing ending which is so sweet and anyone who’s had any kind of investment in this series, you can’t help but get emotional about it.”

Stewart agrees.

“It’s clearly made by someone who really likes, really cares [about the Saga],” the actress said. “That’s why Bill Condon is perfect. Thank God for him.”

Somewhat presciently, at one point in EW’s issue Pattinson says,

“Your whole life is becoming part of the performance. People watch a character through a prism of how they perceive you in public.”

Word for word.

Adorning the cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart reprise their much beloved characters — Edward and Bella — and return to the halycon meadow.

A stark visual reminder of the difference between the idealism of one of most enduring fictional romances in modern times and the real life turbulence that has since hit Pattinson and Stewart’s off-screen relationship.

No-one can deny the Twilight brand has taken hammering in recent weeks. None more so than Kristen Stewart after shocking revelations of infidelity with Snow White and The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders were published in Us Weekly last month.

Since then, fan reaction to Stewart has been split. Some turned their back on the 22-year-old, citing disappointment and anger as their reasons. Incredibly, death threats were reportedly even made against the actress. But some fans rallied behind Stewart, calling for compassion and the recognition that everyone makes mistakes.

Inevitably, the media gorged endlessly on the profitable implosion of a relationship once considered one of the most solid in Hollywood. And nearly everyone from Bonnie Fuller, Will Ferrell, Professor Green, and Lady Gaga have voiced their opinions on the matter.

Well, now it’s Bill Condon’s turn.

The much respected director (Gods and Monsters, Chicago, DreamGirls), who also helmed the last two installments of The Twilight Saga series, has spoken up about the treatment of Pattinson and Stewart in the wake of the scandal — and his message is for the fans.

“The fact is, these are actors playing parts, and maybe it’s not such a bad thing that people be reminded of that,” Condon tells EW.

“Both of these actors gave heart and soul to the Twilight movies, not only during shooting, but also by navigating so graciously the whole life-in-a-fishbowl aspect of the phenomenon. Above all they have always shown great respect for the fans who made these movies such a success. Now it’s time that some of that respect be returned to them.”

Strong words.

With 99 days left until The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 hits theaters, not only will Summit Entertainment have their work cut out figuring out how to co-ordinate the promotional tour, but fans will have to decide if they can support a film so inextricably linked to the relationship of Pattinson and Stewart.

Last week, Summit’s president of worldwide marketing Nancy Kirkpatrick told EW:

“While it is studio policy not to comment on the personal lives of actors, Summit is moving full steam ahead and looking forward to this November’s opening of The Twilight Saga’s: Breaking Dawn Part II.”

Adding:

“We are confident that the film delivers amazing entertainment for our passionate fans and general audience alike.”

While it may be business as usual for Summit, it’s doubtful whether the same can be said for Pattinson and Stewart as they negotiate the emotional landmines of their besieged relationship.

After a 21 day retreat at Reece Witherspoon’s holiday ranch in Ojai, Pattinson will emerge into public view next week to support the U.S limited release of his new film Cosmopolis, beginning with an interview with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show on August 13. Stewart, on the other hand, continues to lay low. After two weeks of constant —  and often dubious news reporting — even reported sightings of the actress working out at Gold’s Gym in Venice, California are conflicted.

Life was so much simpler in the meadow.

11 new promo images for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 have arrived online. Featuring characters already well known to audiences, the new pictures are fierce, smoldering and dramatically stylized.

Among them; Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart as Edward and Bella Cullen, Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black, and most of the “Cullen” family – Peter Facinelli (Dr Carlisle Cullen), Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale), Kellan Lutz (Emmet Cullen), Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen) and Nikki Reed (Rosalie Hale).

Directed by Bill Condon who also helmed The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, the much anticipated denouement to Stephenie Meyer’s series hits theaters on November 16.

Making her first-time-in-a -movie debut as Edward and Bella’s half vampire/half human – supernaturally fast-growing daughter, is 11-year-old Mackenzie Foy – who made quite an impression at the recent Comic-Con in San Diego a few weeks ago.

Asked at Comic-Con what fans can expect in the final installment, Robert Pattinson described the film’s last scene as,

“This amazing ending which is so sweet,” said Pattinson, “anyone who’s had any kind of investment in this series you can’t really help but get emotional about it.”

Intriguingly, Pattinson added that the rest of the movie was ”like a political, action epic [...] completely bizarre. It’s nothing like the other ones.”

Hosted by Glee favorite Kevin McHale and singer Demi Lovato (now ‘X Factor’ judge’), over 130 million people tuned in to see Fox’s 14th Annual Teen Choice Awards on Sunday.

Multiple wins for The Hunger Games, The Vampire Diaries and Pretty Little Liars, together with awards for stars such as Ellen DeGeneres, Justin Bieber, Emma Stone, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Charlize Theron, Ian Somerhalder, Miley Cyrus, Miranda Cosgrove, Katy Perry and Zac Efron – to name a few – created a fun and frothy Teen Choice throwdown this year.

But out of the staggering 36 non-musical and 23 music categories, the most generous winners were real-life sweethearts Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart – and Taylor Lautner.

It was a big night for the Saga. Breaking Dawn – Part 1 bagged the “Choice Movie: Romance” award, and Kristen Stewart also won the “Choice Movie Actress: Romance” award for BD1. But the biggest moment came when The Twilight Saga won the “Ultimate Choice Award.”

Zachary Levi introduced a montage of key moments, beginning in 2008 when Twilight first wowed audiences right up until Breaking Dawn – Part 1 last year.

Not surprisingly when Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner walked out on stage afterwards to accept the award, a delighted Gibson Amphitheater audience went wild.

“This award especially is an extreme honor,” said Lautner, speaking first. “It really is a true testament to all the support you guys have given us over the years. It’s amazing to me that you guys are still around and just as strong and just as loyal.”

Then, it was Kristen Stewart’s turn.

Wearing Roberto Cavalli black leather trousers and a blue/purple/silver box jacket with print detail from his 2013 Resort collection, the actress – who also won the “Choice Female Movie Star of the Summer Award” for Snow White and The Huntsman - thanked the fans, saying she couldn’t believe the Saga had won 41 Teen Choice awards over the years.

“To share this with all of you means so much to me, because I really loved every step,” said the 22-year-old.  The actress  also gave a shout out to the Saga’s various directors and grand-dame author Stephenie Meyer.

Next up was Robert Pattinson. Typically self-deprecating and looking a little bashful at the prospect of speaking the 26- year-old said,

“I don’t know why we haven’t gotten any better at these.”

Then, in what was probably an off-the-cuff move (or maybe not) the Brit asked, “I don’t know if I’m allowed to but can I […] give this to the audience?”

Of course the place went nuts when Pattinson handed his Teen Choice surfboard to the girls standing in the mosh pit at the front. Following her beau’s example, Kristen generously handed hers to fans too.

As Breaking Dawn – Part 2 approaches – the final installment hits theaters on November 16 – this is undoubtedly a bittersweet time for Twilight Saga fans. It’s clear its stars feel the same way.

No-one was entirely sure what would happen when The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 cast and creatives hit San Diego for the opening day of Comic-Con 2012.

For a number of reasons, not least of which the shocking news of the death of Gisela Gagliardi in San Diego days before, emotions in the fan lines outside the convention center were running high.

For those fans, many of whom had camped since last Sunday, knowing this was the last time they would do so for The Twilight Saga made this year’s Comic-Con a particularly poignant one.

Throughout the interwebs, blogs, fan sites, Twitter and those on the frontline in San Diego, there was an overwhelming feeling that this year – even more than before - The Twilight Saga would represent to the max, and go out with a bang.

The devotion of Saga fans is much talked about by the media, studios and movie observers, though for some it remains a mystery why this franchise boasts one of the most passionate and dynamic fandoms in history.

Take the reaction of fans in the aftermath of Ms Gagliardi’s tragic death. Fans rallied setting up a fund-raising effort, black ribbons were passed in the queues in San Diego and countless messages of condolence were sent to her family.

As Josh Horowitz, heading up MTV’s two-hour Breaking Dawn – Part 2 special on Thursday, would say numerous times during the live-stream – for him, this year was a “bittersweet”one. He wasn’t alone. Just about every media outlet present in San Diego and elsewhere said the same.

After four rollercoaster years, The Twilight Saga’s place in pop culture history is assured, not just because of its $ 2.5 billion (and counting) box office, but because of the profound emotional connection fans have for the books, the movies, the characters and the actors themselves.

No less staggering is the massive commercial impact a previously largely ignored demographic had on a male oriented market.

Amanda Bell – a writer specializing in all things Twilight, and highly respected in the fan community and beyond – recently wrote about ‘Fangirls changing the face of Comic-Con,’ drawing attention to a recent Variety article spotlighting the “drastic change in [Comic-Con’s] demographic from previous years.”

Bell observes, “Women now comprise 40% of the ticket-holders for the event, and the Twilight demographic has helped to usher in more female-friendly franchise opportunities at the Con.”

While Variety’s Graser said, “Hollywood is taking that audience seriously.”

Quite a legacy then.

So, here’s a look at what went down when the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 blasted into Comic-Con 2012.

Asked what fans would think were the “big moments” of the last installment, Kristen Stewart jokingly punched the air and said being ‘Vampire Bella’ was a similar to feeling of “Yes! I have arrived!”

Then, more seriously,

“I think the first hunt. You know, being able to physically – you know it’s like breaking a car in,” said the actress.“It’s like wow, look what I’ve got. I think it’s going to be so cool, I think people are really going to dig it.”

Typically, Pattinson brought the laughs. After having a little ‘trouble’ with his microphone and almost hitting himself in the face, the Brit quipped that he was, ”on another planet.”

Prompting Kristen to tease him saying, “Did you just hit yourself in the face with the mike? Wow.”

Asked if the cast were all reading “Fifty Shades of Grey” Pattinson jokingly said, “I’d lick the pages.”

“If you told me tomorrow that we had [–] to reshoot some scene you know that I wasn’t happy with, I would be so happy I would start giggling – I would start vibrating because I do really enjoy living in this world.” Kristen Stewart.

Asked about the possibility of a reboot, series creator Stephenie Meyer said,

“I do pity the person who tries to step into these roles. That’s going to really hard and not going to go well for them I don’t imagine.” Then, gesturing at Lautner, Pattinson and Stewart,

“This is what is loved and it wouldn’t, it wouldn’t be the same. It’d be interesting but it’d be so hard.”

On the last scene,

“I think fans can expect something very, very emotional, like a bit of a wrap-up. And it’s like, I mean I’ve seen it four times and I cry every time – it’s so cool,” said Stewart.

On lasting memories,

“Every moment was a thing that I will cherish forever.” Mackenize Foy.

“One of my favourite memories, last week of shooting […] we kind of all sat in the garage cos it’s the warmest place in the Cullen house […] kind of enjoying being with each other cos it’s not going to be like that again.” Stephenie Meyer.

“It’s hard to pick the one moment but the last week shooting the wedding and walking down the aisle even maybe. Yeah really heavy, heavy stuff.” Kristen Stewart.

“[In the last three weeks of filming] I kept telling myself alright it’s time to like start soaking up every moment […] I’m glad I did that because I do remember every single moment up until the last day.” Taylor Lautner.

“I was thinking about pranks and stuff,” said Pattinson. Adding that filming Breaking Dawn – Part 1 in Brazil was,

“Kind of symbolic of [-] you know the crazy journey [-] me and Kristen in like kinda swimming trucks and a bikini with 600 Brazilian army men with machine guns and videos cameras filming you in the rainforest in Brazil [-]the whole thing’s just been such an insane experience.”

A brief remembrance of Gagliardi kicked off the much anticipated throwdown in Hall “H.” Screams and cheers greeted Lautner, Pattinson, Stewart, Foy and Meyer as they walked out to the 6000-strong fan packed event.

A short video by director Bill Condon (not at Comic-Con as he was working on the score) introduced a peek at the first 7 minutes of Breaking Dawn – Part 2 which picks up exactly where Part 1 left off.

A Q and A with the big five (including Meyer) followed, after which Peter Facinelli, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Elizabeth Reaser, Ashley Greene and Jackson Rathbone came on stage.

One of the more hilarious answers came from Pattinson when aked what advice Edward in Breaking Dawn would give Edward in Twilight.

Quick as a flash Pattinson said, “Keep it in your pants.” Then, ”Don’t succumb to peer pressure and wear a wig like everyone else. I had to do extra shooting and for my last two days on Twilight I had to wear a wig.”

By the end, 17 ’vampires’ joined the main leads in Hall “H.” In all, 28 cast members took The Twilight Saga’s final bow at Comic-Con.

Yesterday, Stephenie Meyer told Josh Horowitz that back in 2008 - the first year the Saga went to Comic-Con – that,

“No-one was ready for it. People were freaking out and you have no idea how to respond to it.”

Fast forward to 2012 and the changes and expectations about the cast, author, studio and the franchise itself are vastly different.

But equally for the cast, and certainly the fans, these films represent a shared experience between people who truly love and appreciate The Twilight Saga - and will remember it as an unforgettable moment in time.

Cynics may cast a jaundiced eye, but most media commentators recognize that at the heart of this phenomenon is a community, one that loves how far the characters – and the actors who play them – have come.

And just as Kellan Lutz promised Horowitz when he said “That last premiere is going to be wild” – that community will be there at the journey’s end in November.

The pop culture-fest that is Comic-Con is nearly upon us. The fantasy festivities kick off in San Diego from July 12-15.

Today, MTV announced Summit Entertainment has confirmed that the big guns from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will represent at Comic-Con 2012.

Earlier this month, Summit announced that the climactic installment of the series would have a presence at this year’s Comic-Con – and today more details emerged about who, where and when.

So here’s the roll call:

Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen), Kristen Stewart (Bella Cullen), new cast member Mackenzie Foy (Renesmee Cullen), Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black), Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen), Nikki Reed (Rosalie), Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen), Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale) and Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen) – will appear at a press conference when Comic-Con kicks off.

To quote MTV,

“Consider it official, then: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are coming to Comic-Con! Summit Entertainment announced today (July 3) that the on-screen Edward and Bella will be at the San Diego show for a “Breaking Dawn” press conference held at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Thursday (July 12). Start lining up now, “Twilight” fans!”

“Joining Pattinson and Stewart are plenty of your other favorite “Twilight” stars, including Taylor Lautner, Peter Facinelli, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz. Also along for the ride is newcomer Mackenzie Foy, starring in “Breaking Dawn” as young half-vampire Renesmee.”

Since The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 panel at Comic-Con 2012 is scheduled to raise the roof of Hall “H” on July 12, it’s not that much of a stretch to say it’s fairly certain that the actors now confirmed for the press conference will also be on the panel.

Also highly anticipated is the promised Breaking Dawn Part – 2 sneak peek that will be shown at Comic-Con, but today’s announcement by MTV and Summit will certainly be the cherry on the cake for Twilight Saga fans attending CC this year.

Past Comic-Con appearances by Pattinson and Stewart have traditionally been riotous affairs, and fans trekking down to San Diego for what is effectively The Twilight Saga’s final hurrah will undoubtedly be hoping they saved the best for last.

Summit Entertainment has confirmed that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will be the opening panel in Hall “H” at Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego on Thursday, July 12.

And if the 7 million viewers that powered the recently released BD – Part 2 teaser into Yahoo’s record breaking books are anything to go by, an appearance at Comic-Con will be heavily attended by saga fans.

A press release at Twilight Lexicon revealed, Summit Entertainment will show “exclusive footage” from Breaking Dawn – Part 2 as well as the usual “cast and filmmaker Q&A session.”

That “filmmaker” is almost certainly director Bill Condon, although it could also mean the film’s producers. It’s not yet been confirmed whether the series literary creator Stephenie Meyer will be there, or which cast members.

Undoubtedly fans will be hoping Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will put in an appearance, but right now the place settings are anyone’s guess.

Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will also be featured at the Summit Entertainment booth at the convention. The press release promises,“Those who stop by will have the chance to attend autograph signings, participate in contests and collect free giveaways all weekend long.”

Held from July 12 –15, Comic Con is usually an uproarious event with appearances from a variety of pop culture shows, comics, books and, of course, studios promoting their upcoming movies.

Past Comic-Cons featuring The Twilight Saga cast have been massive hits with fans. If 2012 will be your first time in San Diego, take a look at some of that past action below for an idea of what to expect.

As promised by Summit Entertainment on Monday, the full teaser trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2  is now here. And it’s looks pretty great.

Directed by Gods and Monsters, DreamGirls helmer Bill Condon, the challenge for Condon to bring home the goods for the saga’s last hurrah – is well and truly on.

So give or take a few minutes for title treatment set-up, what’s in the 1.13 minute teaser?

Well, Edward and Bella Cullen (Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart) are of course married. Even though their daughter Renesmee is growing supernaturally fast, for once all seems happy in the Cullen household.

Not for long though.

Irina Denali (Maggie Grace) believes the Cullens transformed Renesmee from a human child into an immortal one by biting her – something strictly forbidden under vampire law.

And that law is upheld by the Volturi, headed by Aro (the magnificent Michael Sheen).

When Irina tells the Volturi what she believes, all hell breaks loose when the Volturi descend on Forks intent on destroying what they believe is an aberration of their laws: Renesmee.

“Maintaining our secret has never been more imperative,” warns Aro.

Cue an international roll call of vampire covens rallying to the Cullens side to defend against the impending Volturi attack.

Favorite kick-ass moment? The last shot of Bella racing to face down the Volturi.

Rumors about possible sequels aside, one thing that is happening for sure in The Twilight Saga universe is Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

Although BD – Part 2 doesn’t hit theaters until November 16, Summit Entertainment and Lionsgate are clearly cranking up the promo.

Yesterday, Summit announced a teaser trailer would be released on Wednesday June 20 to mark the 111th birthday of Edward Cullen – and today a sneak peek of that teaser was unveiled.

In addition to first look pictures of Mackenzie Foy - aka Renesmee Cullen – and an exclusive roll out of stills in Monday’s Entertainment Weekly, this 10 second clip is an opportunity for (interested-but-not-fans) viewers to get an idea of what’s in store.

Apart from the harrowing birth scene that introduced audiences to Renesmee – the half-vamp/half-human daughter of Bella and Edward (Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson) – one of the most dramatic scenes in Part 1 was the final shot of  Bella opening blood-red eyes the moment her heart stopped beating.

In Part 2, the new parents’ joy is cut short by the news that the Volturi (a sort of vampire Royal Family) are hell-bent on destroying their daughter, due to a false accusation that Renesmee is a created vampire (i.e bitten.)

Apparently with the Volturi, inflicting pain on humanity for millennia is okay but “making” an Immortal Child is a total no-no.

So what else happens?

Among other things: vampire covens from all over the world fly into Forks to help the Cullen clan defend their newest member. Meanwhile the Volturi go Black-Ops on everyone in sight.

Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) – as Renesmee’s protector – will no doubt also have something to say about the situation. And if you’ll notice in the clip; faster, stronger, better, vamp Bella looks ready for action. Like ready.

In short, things are going to get hectic.

Unveiled on the cover of Entertainment Weekly today, that other “First Family” – The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2′s “Edward, Bella and Renesmee Cullen” – stare resolutely into the mid-distance.

The saga’s denouement won’t hit theaters until November 16, but when a beloved, multi-billion dollar franchise is involved – there’s no time like the present.

Yesterday, images of a partially hidden, 11-year-old Mackenzie Foy, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were released on EW’s official Facebook, triggering huge excitement among fans eager for a first, proper look at the “family.”

Introduced as a baby (after a harrowing birth scene) in Breaking Dawn – Part 1, Renesmee’s half-vampire/ half human genetics endow her with supernatural growth, so this time audiences will meet a young girl looking somewhere around 6 or 7 – although in the movie she might be aged younger.

A slew of new Breaking Dawn – Part 2 stills and extensive quotes from the film’s leads and director in EW, revealed more than a few gems about what audiences can expect later this year.

“Stranger than all the other films put together,” is how Pattinson describes the final installment. Then, “Vampires are weird.”

Stewart agrees. “Let me tell you, this movie is so weird. It. Is. Bizarre.”

Referring to Stewart’s vamp transformation,Taylor Lautner said, “That’s kind of the huge thing that the fans are waiting for – to see the clumsy teenage Bella that Kristen did so well, suddenly become this super-sexy vampire who’s athletic and graceful.”

Lautner isn’t wrong.

Midnight Release parties held in February to mark the roll out of Breaking Dawn – Part 1 on DVD and Blu-Ray were sell-outs. The big draw being a heavily publicized first sneak peek of ‘vamp Bella.’

Director Bill Condon (Gods and Monsters, DreamGirls, Chicago) who helmed both Breaking Dawn installments told EW,

“[Stewart’s] transformation from high school girl to fierce warrior is amazing. She’s a different species now.”

And it seems Kristen was competitive about ‘vamp Bella’. “I know every single version of vampire and I took a little bit from everyone”, said the 22 year-old. “But I wanted her to be the best one.”

It sounds as if she really got into character too. Recalling a scene where Bella hunts a (foam) mountain lion, the actress reveals she, “ripped that mother to the ground!”

On how it felt acting maternally with her 11 year-old co-star:

“It’s a really cool relationship. I hope it comes across” Stewart said. Asked about resembling Foy the actress said, “Even our hands look similar. It was kind of strange. But it’s funny how it actually helps.”

Revealing the decision to choose Foy for the role of Renesmee was pretty simple in the auditions, Condon said,

“There were a lot of kids. But this was kind of obvious. It was one of those rare times when you see something – like with an apartment or house – and it feels good and you just need to take it. I felt that way, like, ‘Oh, this is good.’”

Possibly gleefully, Pattinson revisited the sore (excuse the pun) subject of the red contact lenses.

“Kristen complained about 500 times more than I have,” the actor told EW. “She condensed four years of complaining into a few months.”

There’s loads more good stuff in EW’s exclusive, especially about the swear jar Foy was given on set to curb the worst of the cast’s more colorful moments. Suffice it to say, Pattinson said Foy made around $ 850 during the shoot.

Much of the plot of Breaking Dawn – Part 2 centers on the Cullen clan’s attempts to protect Renesmee from the Volturi, (first seen in The Twilight Saga: New Moon) after a false allegation incurs their wrath.

This last installment will also see a roll call of vampire covens from around the world descend on Forks to help the Cullens defend Renesmee.

It’s going to be interesting seeing Stewart – who looks every bit the fierce mother in the new stills – work with this new dynamic. And for Lautner, too, his role as Renesmee’s’ protector will give him a chance to bring a different dimension to Jacob.

Far more action-centric than previous movies in the series, BD2 promises to be a climatic ending to Stephenie Meyer’s epic saga. If you can’t wait until then to see the Twilight cast together again, they’ll be appearing at this year’s Comic-Con (held in San Diego July 12-15).

EW reports the last scenes of the movie work as a kind of “visual valentine.” Fans will know exactly what that means. For everyone else, all will become clear on November 16.

“The end is so sweet. There’s this nice finality to it. Everyone who was watching started crying. It does a serious justice to the series.”

It’s official, thanks to Hasbro, the production company of popular 70s/90s flex toy and Relativity Media, “Stretch Armstrong” will be making its way to the big screen.

Initially actor and Twilight heartthrob Taylor Lautner was attached to star in the project, but today it was announced that he’s decided to part ways with the blockbuster project that’s sure to make big bucks. The issue is said to be over scheduling conflicts, which was confirmed by TheWrap.

Taylor Lautner has been doing quite well for himself in setting himself a part from the “Twilight” franchise, snagging roles in the action film “Abduction” which only made half the budget back with $82.5 million worldwide, and Sci Fi film “Incarceron” which is slated for a 2013 release date.

The “Stretch Armstrong” picture was originally in development at Universal Studios and Lautner was going to make a reported 7.5 million not including backend from the film. The actor even cleared his schedule by turning down “Northern Lights” and “Max Steel”.

The film will draw inspiration from the 1970s toy and the 90s relaunch of the toy. The cast soon to be announced the film is slated for a April 14, 2014  release date.

Taylor Lautner is gay!… But not really. Rumors about the stars sexuality began to circulate again today as a fake People Magazine cover made its way around Twitter.

The image shows the Twilight star on the cover of the upcoming issue of People Magazine. 

The cover reads:

“Tired of rumors, the Twilight star opens up about his decision to finally come out.”

And gives a quote from Lautner:

“I’m more liberated, and happier than I’ve ever been.”

But Gossip Cop reports that the cover is 100% fake. How can they tell? Well beside the fact that a rep for the magazine said that the cover is “absolutely fake,” the sidebar on the magazine is from a 2006 issue of People Magazine. 

This isn’t the first time that the public has speculated about Lautner’s sexuality. Earlier this year the Twilight star was spotted with openly gay director Gus Van Zandt, rumors that Lautner was gay began to circulate.

But Lautner commented that actors do on occasion have dinners with directors in a non-romantic fashion… You know, to talk business.

Lautner said:

“It’s not a coincidence that there was a writer, a director and an actor at dinner.”

And sure enough, it was announced last month that Lautner would be filming an independent movie with Sant. 

It doesn’t look like there’s any merit to this rumor, but that won’t end the speculation about Lautner’s sexuality. Do you think Taylor Lautner is gay?

Kristen Stewart has been talking up the bond she has with her co-stars in Twilight, leaving a special mention for … no, not real-life boyfriend/on-screen lover Robert Pattinson, but Taylor Lautner, who has played Jacob Black in the film series since 2008.

The 21-year-old says she always does her best to ensure her or Lautner keep in touch, insisting that they bonded strongly on the set of the vampire movie:

“When I don’t see Taylor for a while I take out my phone and call him. It’s not like I see him all the time or every day, it’s just that when you work with people like that, you can give so much. It’s so comfortable, you can do no wrong – they’ve got you. We get along together and I think it shows.”

The 21-year-old actress got close to her 19-year-old co-star while filming the vampire movies. and says phone calls and emails help her keep in touch with Lautner.

Not that Pattinson should be getting too jealous – Stewart says she has become close with all her cast-mates, and believes that such friendship was critical when it came to making so many damn Twilight movies:

“I couldn’t have done this without them. I can’t imagine what this movie would have been if I didn’t have really solid – and always growing – relationships with them.”

Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart, and Robert Pattinson are on their way to setting a few box office records. The new Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn, brought in $72 million from domestic tickets on opening day, and another $66 million worldwide.

Breaking Dawn‘s box office performance on opening day was the third highest in history. According to the Hollywood Reporter, only Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and Twilight: New Moon had bigger opening days. When New Moon was released two years ago, it brought in $72.7 million on opening day.

MTV reports that midnight showings helped Breaking Dawn to set box-office records. Breaking Dawn played in more than 3,000 theaters at 12:01 on Friday morning, before adding another thousand location by mid-morning. The new Twilight movie brought in $30.25 million from midnight showings alone.

According to Bloomberg, industry experts are predicting that Breaking Dawn will gross $300 million during the film’s domestic theater run.

Breaking Dawn may be a huge money maker, but critics aren’t too impressed. The movie currently has a score of just 27% rating from more than 136 critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

Dana Stevens at Slate writes:

“By any normal standard, this is a terrible movie, with stilted dialogue and leaden pacing — every 15 minutes or so, the action stops for a musical montage involving slow-motion handsomeness. But the Twilight saga stopped being normal a long time ago.”

Of course, Twilight fans disagree. Fans gave the new Twilight movie a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.

In a recent interview with MTV News Lautner was questioned about an upcoming scene in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 in which the young star shares a dance with Kristen Stewart.

“So is that something you enjoy, or are you like ‘Oh god, I’m going to look like an idiot’…” MTV reporter Josh Horowitz asked Lautner, referring to the choreographed dance.

“Both,” recalled Lautner, who reportedly took up Hip-Hop dance as a high school student. “I was extremely nervous, especially when they told us there was going to be lifts and stuff. I was like, ‘Are you kidding me? Are we on “Dancing With the Stars”? No.’ I thought it was going to be a simple slow dance, which it was in the end, but there were a few little lifts I was nervous about.”

Despite his anxiety regarding the scene, however, Taylor revealed that he was pleased with the final product, saying:

“In the end, it turned out well. It’s a very beautiful scene, visually, and everything that’s going on in it.”

To see if Lautner really has “moves like Jagger,” you’ll need to buy a ticket to see Breaking Dawn Part 1 – scheduled to hit theaters at 12:01am.

Want to be the first to see Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn? If you’re reading this, you’re probably out of luck. Fans have been camping out for days in front of the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles for the Breaking Dawn premiere.

The movie will hit theaters worldwide this weekend, but for fans who just can’t wait to witness Edward and Bella’s marriage, the Nokia Theater is the place to be tonight. According to Zap2It, fans have been sitting outside of the Nokia Theater since November 10th in order to get a glimpse of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner as they walk the red carpet tonight for the Breaking Dawn premiere.

If you can’t make it to the Nokia Theater tonight, you can still catch a glimpse of all the action. MTV.com will be streaming the event live starting at 8 pm ET. (You can see the feed below.) MTV will also play a “never before seen scene” from the movie at 7:56.

The “Twilight” saga stars join Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington, Kevin Costner and an array of other Hollywood greats in getting the special honor.

The handprint ceremony, which was officiated by Jimmy Kimmell and only lasted about 15 minutes, kicked off the beginning of the United States promotion for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 which is slated to hit theaters on on November 18th.

Twilight‘s author Stephanie Meyer was on hand to introduce the trio, and was beyond thrilled to help them celebrate their big day.

“Everything that they expend in the service of these characters is really touching to me,” Meyer said of Robert, Kristen and Taylor. “I’ll never not be grateful for what they’ve done.”

After the ceremony, Kristen Stewart and her two on-screen loves signed autographs for the screaming fans crowded around the theater entrance.

Now that the Twilight movies are set to come to an end soon, actor Taylor Lautner is looking to branch out in his acting career. He’s already confirmed to be working on two movies for 2013, and now there’s word he’ll be working with acclaimed indie director Gus Van Sant.

According to a report from the Hollywood Reporter, Lautner is in the final stages of talks with Van Sant, best known for directing Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s Oscar-winning Good Will Hunting, to cook up a low-budget indie film based on a nonfiction New Yorker piece that Taylor optioned. In addition to starring in the film, Lautner will be taking on a producer role as well.

Lautner’s most recent big screen appearance in Abduction alongside his ex, Lily Collins, was nearly universally panned by movie critics, but still managed to squeeze out $27.2 million from moviegoers since its release on September 23.

Additionally, Lautner has been tied to Universal’s still-in-the-works film based on a popular toy, Stretch Armstrong. Lautner told Movie Hole in September that the film was still in the scriptwriting process, and is still quite a ways out.

Sorry fellas, Taylor Lautner is not gay. After the Twilight star was spotted having dinner with Gus Van Sant and Dustin Lance Black, the two guys who were behind the movie “Milk,” homosexual hopefuls started wondering about Lautner’s sexuality.

But Lautner says that he’s not gay, and that although some people might find it surprising, actors, writers, and directors occasional meet for dinner. In the latest issue of Australian GQ, Taylor addressed the issue. Lautner said:

“It’s not a coincidence that there was a writer, a director and an actor at dinner.”

When Lautner was pushed about the issue and asked if either of the openly gay filmmakers hit on him, Lautner said:

“No, definitely not. I think they know I’m straight. But they’re great guys. They’re a lot of fun.”

GQ’s line of questioning has irked some gay-rights groups. Advocacy asks if GQ was being homophobic by pushing the actor and questioning the intent of Van Sant and Black. The magazine asks: “Would GQ have asked Lautner the same question if he’d dined with two older straight women?”

The new article in GQ reports that Taylor Lautner was paid $7.5 million to star opposite Lily Collins in the new film Abduction. The big payday makes Lautner the highest paid teenager in Hollywood. And with a reported $10 million deal slated for the new Incarceron, Lautner could keep that title until his 20th birthday this February.

Despite the fact that Lily Collins and Taylor Lautner never admitted to having a relationship officially, the two have reportedly split up just one week ahead of their upcoming film’s premier, Abduction.

A source told Us Weekly that it was a “clean break that Taylor initiated”. Clean as it may have been, the atmosphere between the two at the premier of Abduction was noticeably awkward, the source told Us Weekly.

“At the Abduction party, it was awkward,” the source admits. “They barely said a word to one another.”

The two reportedly first hit it off shortly after filming on Abduction began last year, but both parties remained tight-lipped throughout the duration of the relationship.

“You can feel some sort of chemistry or a connection when you are reading a script with someone for the first time,” Lautner told Seventeen magazine. “And that was totally the case with Lily.”

For now, Lautner has reportedly decided to stay single for awhile so that he can “properly move on.”

Lily Collins, daughter of musician Phil Collins has been chosen to star in the upcoming Julia Roberts helmed movie ‘The Brothers Grimm: Snow White’

Lily, 22, will play Snow White in the movie which will be shown in 3-D and feature Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen.

It’s a big break for Collins who also co-stars in this years movie ‘Abduction’ which she starred in alongside rumored boyfriend Taylor Lautner.

According to Snow White director Tarsem Singh, it was the actresses facial features that led her into the role as one of the world’s most well known fictional characters.

The Robert’s Snow White movie isn’t the only one going into production in 2011, Charlize Therone was tapped to star in ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ alongside Kristen Stewart.
