Jamie Foxx and SyFy have worked out a deal to put together a horror anthology that will air on the network. The Django Unchained actor will be going through his Foxxhole Productions in order to put the mini-series together.

Talking about the project, the Academy Award winner said that, “this is a project that I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and I’m so happy to see it come to life.” The actor added that he was going to be bringing some of his big name friends along for the series and that he might even be making a guest appearance or two.

The project has been described as a five episode anthology that is in the same vein as Tales from the Crypt and the Twilight Zone. The currently unnamed project appears to be one that will examine the dangers of engaging in actions centered around the seven deadly sins.

While there hasn’t been a ton of information about what the project will entail, it will reportedly cover subjects like envy, jealousy and superficiality.

Jamie Foxx may not be the star of the show, but he will certainly have plenty to do as its rumored that he will be contributing as a writer and director along with producing the show.

Foxx has been plenty busy outside of this particular project. While he’s garnered most of the attention for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s latest revenge based flick, the actor has also been cast as the super villain Electro in the Amazing Spiderman 2 movie.

The new horror anthology will have the first of the five, 30 minute episodes air during SyFy 31 days of Halloween promotion that the network puts together every October.

Back in July, Stan Lee launched his own YouTube channel that focuses on all things related to heroes and the enthusiastic hero culture.

According to AD Age, Stan Lee’s World of Heroes YouTube channel grew by 238% over last week to take the No. 20 spot on the YouTube Tracker. The 1 million views the channel garnered last week brought its grand total of views to more than 5.4 million. It now ranks No. 92 of 132 in the Originals All-Time Ranking.

The channel’s increase in ratings coincided with his 90th birthday on December 28. In order to mark Lee’s 90th birthday, there were a number of stories written about the milestone celebration, most of which mentioned the “World of Heroes” YouTube channel.

There are a number of scripted and unscripted shows on the channel. Celebrity guests and animation are also highlighted parts of the channel.

Most of the channel’s videos are parodies of superheroes and superhero themes. One popular series, for instance, is “Bad Days.” This series shows familiar superheroes like Spiderman and Superman having a rough time.

A series called “StanCo’s Real Life Toys!” shows kids receiving superhero toys with some side-effects.

Stan Lee actually stars in a number of the series that appear on the World of Heroes YouTube channel.

The channel also features a series called “Stan’s Rants,”  In this series, he talks about what he thinks are some very important issues. In another series he has drinks with various guests.

“Happy Holiday’s from Stan Lee” is the most viewed video on the channel right now. The video features a cartoon version of the legendary comic-book writer singing his own version of the “Twelve Days of Christmas.”

Stan Lee started working in comics in 1939 when he was only 17 years old. He took a job at New York’s Timely Comics and went on to create some of the most popular characters such as the Fantastic Four, the Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, the X-Men, and the Amazing Spider-Man.

Even if you aren’t a huge fan of comic books or superheroes, I still highly recommend you go check out Stan Lee’s World of Heroes YouTube channel. You never know … you might like it.

Ang Lee’s Life Of Pi is the highly anticipated adaptation of Yann Martel’s 2001 novel of the same name. It revolves around the antics of Pi, a 16-year-old boy who is the only survivor of a sinking freighter.

The Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon director decided to cast a hoard unrecognisable stars for the film but also employed Spiderman star Tobey Maguire as a writer who interview’s Pi after he is washed ashore in the wake of the disaster.

However, it seems like Lee has now had a change of heart and has decided to cut Maguire’s scenes from the movie, realizing that his presence was too formidable alongside his co-stars.

“To be consistent with the other casting choices made for the film, I decided to go with an entirely international cast,” said Lee. “I very much admire Tobey and look forward to working with him again in the future.”

With The Great Gatsby also being pushed back to a summer 2013 release, all of Maguire’s fall movies have now been taken off the calendar. However, there are no hard feelings between the actor and Lee, who previously worked together on The Ice Storm. 

Maguire released his own statement to confirm the director’s decision:

“I fully support Ang’s decision to go a different direction for this role in Life of Pi. Ang shared a lot of the film with me, and what I saw was absolutely beautiful.”

Rafe Spall, the son of English acting legend Timothy, has now filled the role, which should leave Tobey with enough time to fully concentrate his efforts on portraying Bobby Fischer in Pawn Sacrifice.

Brett Cohen always wondered what it would be like to be famous instead of just an average Joe. Cohen enlisted the aid of a few buddies and some folks he found via Craigslist to find out what the life of a celebrity is actually like – if only for a few hours. Call it living out a fantasy, a prank, or even an experiment, but, regardless of the label, Brett Cohen succeeded in achieving star status on the streets of New York City.

Cohen duped New Yorkers and tourists alike when he posed as a celebrity while walking around Times Square. Brett Cohen did not lie to the crowd of people who approached him and wanted their photos taken next to the paparazzi flanked man, he simply told them his name and allowed their imaginations to do the rest. Some Brett Cohen fans reportedly thought he was a pop singer and others an action hero star. One man who stopped to check out the celebrity spotting thought Cohen was in the Spiderman movie.

“The idea was, ‘I bet if we walked through with bodyguards and photographers, people would go nuts. And that’s exactly what happened,” Brett Cohen,21, told the New York Daily News. “It was insane. The crowd kept getting bigger and bigger. I got a taste of fame, and it was good, but it’s not something I would want as a part of my everyday life,”

Cohen, a New Paltz student and his celebrity prank cohort Edward Sturm, 23, posted a video of the experience on YouTube titled “Fake Celebrity Pranks New York City,” ABC News reports. Cohen also noted he was attempting to channel his “inner Tom Cruise” during the fake celebrity prank.

Earlier the same day as the fake celebrity prank, Cohen walked around New York dressed in a t-shirt and gym shorts and did not attract the attention of throngs of young women. Later, Brett Cohen dressed in more fashionable digs and cool shades, got a “tan,” and walked around Times Square with photographers and body guards — and got an entirely different reaction from folks on the sidewalk and in stores.

Although Cohen’s appearance did not cause a Justin Bieber mobbing, he could hardly walk down the sidewalk or stop at a shop without being crowded by girls who wanted to pose for a photo with him during the fake celebrity prank.

New York University is in hot water over a lawsuit filed this week, in which a professor alleges that the prestigious university fired him for giving Hollywood Celebrity James Franco (Spiderman, 127 Hours) a D. Franco had been pursuing a Master’s in Fine Arts degree from the school, when he enrolled in Jose Angel Santana’s “Directing the Actor II” class.   Santana said the star had missed 12 of 14 classes that semester.

Santana is alleging the University created a hostile work environment for allowing Franco to publicly ridicule him and then they showed him the door.

“The school has bent over backwards to create a Franco-friendly environment, that’s for sure,” Santana, 58, told The New York Post. “The university has done everything in its power to curry favor with James Franco.”

Santana is suing for damages and back wages over the issue.  He says that the star had been just as excessively absent in his other classes also but the University bent over backwards to make sure the actor looked good and got his good grades.

It is not uncommon for schools to make huge sums of money, having Hollywood celebrities attend their programs.  The PR value alone cannot be underestimated. After his stint there as a student, Franco even became a student teaching a course on poetry the following semester.

Santana suggested that Franco received good grades for hiring one of the Universities other professors, Jay Anania, to help him adapt a script.

A rare 1962 comic book featuring the first appearance of our “friendly neighborhood” hero, Spider-Man, has been stolen from a collector in Lincoln, Nebraska, police say.

According to a report by the Lincoln Journal Star, the collector’s edition of “Amazing Fantasy No. 15,” valued at somewhere in the ball park of $15,000, disappeared sometime between Oct. 27 and Nov. 14.

The owner told authorities that several people had been in an out of his home since he last saw the comic book, which he says he kept tucked away with several other comic books.

Earlier this year in May, a mint copy of Amazing Fantasy No. 15 (seen below) was sold to an unnamed buyer for $1.1 million.

It took a record 183 preview performances, numerous accidents (one severe enough to put a stuntman in the hospital) and the largest budget in Broadway history but Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark finally opened on Broadway Tuesday night.

The show, keeping true to form, managed to debut one hour later than scheduled and in the audience were show creators U2′s Bono and The Edge along with Bill and Chelsea Clinton.

According to the Wall Street Journal, during the intermission Bill Clinton said:

“It works,” while adding, “The sets are great, the choreography is great. I love it. The story really hangs together.”

During the curtain call the shows cast brought ousted original director Julie Taymor onto the stage, Taymor was released from the project in March after the shows problems spiraled out of control.

So did you figure it out?

I have to admit at my first glance I didn’t figure out what the heck it was other than possible just a silly Spiderman comic panel. Then I looked closer and though – damn that’s pretty cool and you can thank Zack Shackleton and Lifehacker for spreading the word.

What Zack did with some handy dandy diagnostic tools and some editing tools including GeekTool and Magnifique. He used them to pull a bunch of system information from the computer and created a dynamic package that displays the system info as word balloons.

There’s only one problem – it only works on a Mac
