Yesterday our very own Chris Greenhough reported that the Simpsons cartoon series may be going off the air after 23-seasons due to demands by Fox that the shows voice actors take major pay cuts of 45% and now we’ve learned that show producers have been stepping up to take pay cuts of their own in a last ditch effort to save the cartoon.

According to sources several of the shows top-level producers have agreed to take the cuts in place of actor fees. At this time not all of the shows producers are on board and cast members have not yet reached an agreement of their own.

According to Variety it’s very likely that producer pay cuts will not come close to the 45% reduction in voice actor salaries that Fox executives would like to see. We reported yesterday that voice actors Dan Castellaneta, Nancy Cartwright and Julia Kavner each earn $8 million per year and have said they would be willing to cut a quarter of their paychecks to keep the show running.

There is a little bit of good news regarding the situation, Entertainment Weekly says all sides want to keep the show running for years to come and they are expected to reach some sort of tentative deal by Friday.

While I don’t find the show to have the same must-see humor it once offered the Simpsons still bring political and pop satire to our nations TV sets, something that would be missed by millions. Would you be sad to see Fox TV pull the plug on a cartoon that has been around for nearly two and a half decades?

Ashlee Simpson and Peter Wentz last night became proud parents of a 7 pounds, 11 ounces bouncing baby boy which they thoughtfully named Bronx Mowgli Wentz.

Baby Bronx was 20.5 inches long and was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles, fashionably 3 weeks late.

We at the Inquisitr wonder if Bronx’s name is some sort of hint as to where he was conceived (enjoy that one when you do a vanity google in 12 years Bronx), or maybe they just hope he will grow up tough.

Naming your kid after a place seems to be the done thing lately, what with the Beckham’s (Brooklyn), Gwen Stefani (Kingston), Paltrow (Apple); well maybe not Apple but you know what we mean.

We are also not quite sure what the Mowglii thing is about either. Does Wentz love Rudyard Kipling, or have they bought him a real black panther which they named Bagheera?  I hope they did, the kid is going to need the panther when he is old enough for school because he is going to be teased mercilessly.

Congratulations to the Simpson and Wentz families and welcome Bronx Mowgli Wentz. May next year you be on the most influential tots list.

“Other stuff” being her new country music career– get your minds out of the gutters! Jessica Simpson must be consoled since her on-off relationship with Tony Romo is pretty shaky, most likely thanks to none other than Papa Joe.

Besides that, it looks like Jessica has finally found her niche: her single “Come on Over” debuted at number 41 on Billboard country singles charts. That makes Jessica the highest charting debut solo artist of all time, beating out Brad Cotter and Miranda Lambert who had debuted at 42. I’m impressed, and so is Jessica:

I got chills and butterflies in my stomach. It felt like the first time I heard myself on the radio when I was 19. Country is where my heart is. It’s refreshing to share something that feels so close to home. I am so honored to become a part of the country community.

Yay! That’s something to take her mind off of the horrific managing rumors about her dad.
