50-year-old year old music mogul Simon Cowell is fascinated by boosting his knowledge of people in a bid to ensure his business interests run more smoothly.

Westlife singer Mark Feehily – who recently appeared on Simon’s UK TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ – revealed: “He’s a very interesting person to talk to. He’s got a big side of him that’s interested in psychology. You kind of go into his office and there’s books on psychology.

“He’s a business man and business men need to know all of that sort of stuff.”

Mark, 29, praised Simon for his “charm and intelligence” and admitted fans would be surprised if they got to know the real side of the ‘American Idol’ star, who has been dubbed ‘Mr. Nasty’ for his snide comments and putdowns.

He added to BANG Showbiz: “He’s a very nice man and there’s a lot more to him than what the public probably see. I think he’s also a very private man as famous as he is and you know he doesn’t show that side of him.”

Simon Cowell keeps telling Paula Abdul he loves her.

Former ‘American Idol’ judge Paula is feeling “disturbed” after the 50-year-old music mogul repeatedly expressed his devotion.

She told FOX News, “I’ve talked to Simon. He misses me, and I know it. I talk to him a lot – he says he loves me and that is really disturbing to me.”

Paula, who left the US TV talent show earlier this year after eight seasons is struggling to come to terms with her decision to quit, but will be watching the new series.

The singer-and-choreographer said, “I feel tremendously blessed to have made history with that show. I felt like I was a mamma-bear to cubs and I was there to protect them. I’ll miss that but I’ll be rooting on everyone.”

Paula has also dismissed reports of rivalry between her and fellow judge Kara DioGuardi, insisting they are so close they used to live together.

She explained, “I literally discovered Kara and believed in her. She lived with me and we became the best roommates, we never fought.”

Simon Cowell’s mother was left stunned at his 50th birthday party by the sex shows put on for the guests.

The music mogul celebrated reaching the landmark age with a star-studded bash at Wrotham Park in Hertfordshire, England, and entertainment included a raunchy cabaret act involving sex toys.

Julie Cowell, 82, and her priest friend sat there opened mouthed when one entertainer appeared on stage dressed as a woman’s private parts, before pretending to use an assortment of aids.

Simon’s friend and publicist Max Clifford told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper, “It was a brilliant party, some parts of it had an outrageously camp theme.

“The funniest thing was seeing Simon trying to explain to his mum, who was there with a priest and some of her friends from church. She asked what it was and he told her it was a sideways mouth and a toothbrush but it was very suggestive and it was very clear what it was supposed to be.”

Other guests at the $ 2.92 million bash included Kate Moss, Simon’s ‘X Factor’ judges Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue and his ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour.

Revellers were treated to a lavish meal and $ 321,770 was spent on wine.

Instead of presents, Simon asked his family and friends to donate money to children’s hospice charity Chase.

Cheryl Cole is buying Simon Cowell teeth whitener for his birthday.

The Girls Aloud beauty has joked she will splash out on the beauty product when the music mogul, who is famed for his dazzling teeth, turns 50 next month.

Cheryl, who works alongside Simon on the judging panel for British talent show ‘The X Factor’ quipped, “I’ll buy him some teeth bleach whitener! No, I’m joking, I shall have to think about it.”

Cheryl also admitted she is a huge fan of Beyonce Knowles and even embarrassed herself when she met the ‘Crazy in Love’ singer.

She added to Britain’s Hello! magazine, “I’m obsessed with Beyonce. When I met her I turned into an absolute gabbling fool, ‘You are what every woman should aspire to be, you are amazing, I love you!’ I was so embarrassed.”

The ‘Fight For This Love’ singer, who is married to soccer player Ashley Cole, also revealed she is keen to have children but not in the near future because she is enjoying her career at the moment.

She said, “This is the most fulfilling time of my life ever. I am in a really positive place and I feel like I need to enjoy every single second of it.”

Music mogul Simon Cowell has invited 400 celebrity friends to help him celebrate reaching the landmark age with an exclusive black-tie bash at Hertfordshire’s Wrotham Park on October 7.

A source told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “Simon’s been planning this party for months and the guest list is phenomenal – a ‘Who’s Who’ of the celebrity world.

“It’s going to be the highlight of the showbiz calendar. Simon’s not a massive party person, so when he says he’s going to do something, he does it in style.”

Guests expected to attend include music legend Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish, Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey, actress Denise Richards, supermodel Kate Moss, Australian pop star Kylie Minogue, the judges from his talent shows and most of his recording artists.

Simon’s ‘American Idol’ make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy – who he is reportedly dating – has also been invited to the October party along with his ex-girlfriends Terri Seymour, Jackie St Clair and singer Sinitta.

The bash will be hosted by Simon’s record label Sony BMG and some of the world’s biggest acts – including ‘X Factor’ winner Leona Lewis, Il Divo and Westlife – will perform for the star-studded guests.

The source added: “All his recording artists have been invited. And all the judges on his shows from both sides of the Atlantic.

“He’s always incredibly composed but he’ll definitely be toasting his birthday properly. There will be champagne on tap, plus a three-course banquet.

“But he can’t get up to too much, as his mother Julie is the guest of honour.”

A 27 year old teacher from Reading, Danyl Johnson wowed the crowd singing The Beatles’ “With a Little Help from My Friends,” The performance was strong; maybe not tear jerking staggeringly strong, but Johnson is an entertainer as well with a strong stage presence, which is definitely going to help him win votes.

Music mogul Simon Cowell gives $165,000 a year to an animal shelter run by ‘Exorcist’ actress Linda Blair – who played possessed child Regan in the 1973 cult horror movie – in Toluca Lake, California, because he views it as the next best thing to having his own pet.

A source said “Simon is a huge dog lover but because he’s always travelling he can’t have one. He thought it would be a great idea to help Linda out.

“He doesn’t like to talk about it as he sees it as a private arrangement.”

The shelter – which cares for “neglected and abandoned” pooches – is much in need of Simon’s cash-injection.

A statement on the shelter’s website reads: “Due to the difficult times upon us, we are searching for every means possible to continue supporting animals who desperately need our help.”

Simon – who has previously judged an RSPCA dog show – has a history of helping animals and has even claimed he plans to leave the bulk of his multi-million pound fortune to pet shelters.

He previously said: “I’ve never made a will and don’t want to think about death. I’d leave some to a dogs’ charity.”

Jon Voight, Shaquille O’Neal, Jack Osbourne, James Van Der Beek, Ryan Seacrest, Randy Jackson, Shannon Elizabeth, Jon Lovitz and Hefner’s former girlfriend Bridget Marquardt also attended the bash.

Hefner has hosted the party on the first Saturday of August for years.

Costumes are essential, with most men – including Hefner – expected to wear their finest pyjamas, while women are invited to don their skimpiest lingerie.

This year, Hefner’s new girlfriends Crystal Harris and Karissa and Kristina Shannon stole the show, in miniscule gold bikinis adorned with sparkling beads.

Former ‘Girls Next Door’ star Bridget was also keen to show off some bronzed skin, squeezing into feathered lime green bra and panties.

Basketball star Shaquille O’Neal was far more casual, wearing a pair of Superman boxers and a plain white T-shirt.

The music mogul was treated to a performance from Dannii Minogue, Amanda Holden and his ex-girlfriend Jackie St Claire on Saturday night (25.07.09) – before Carly Simon joked he was the inspiration behind her hit 1972 record.

During the white-themed evening at Jackie’s West London home, Piers Morgan phoned Carly and put her on loud-speaker so she could talk to the guests.

She said: “I was re-recording ‘You’re So Vain’ in the studio the other week and I was at the piano. I just thought, ‘Of course, this song is all about Simon Cowell.’ ”

In response, Simon – who turns 50 on October 7 – quipped: “Uh, Carly, I think you’re forgetting something – didn’t you write ‘Nobody Does It Better’ about me too?”

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge Bruno Tonioli and Simon’s fellow ‘X Factor’ judge Louis Walsh donned huge masks of the music mogul and provided the backing vocals to the surprise performance.

Simon believed the party was to celebrate Jackie’s birthday and turned up with an unusual present for his former girlfriend – a giant portrait of himself.

A friend told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “The champagne will be flowing and judging by the guest list, Simon will need it. Incredibly, 17 of his ex-girlfriends, dates and former flings will be there. For most men this would be an utter nightmare, but if anyone can pull it off, Simon can.”

Simon’s celebrity friends Dannii Minogue, Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Piers Morgan are expected to attend alongside his former flings – including his most recent partner Terri Seymour, former pop star Sinitta and his first girlfriend Tara McDonald-Smith.

However, friends of the music mogul are expecting Simon to take the surprise ‘white-themed’ party well.

The source continued: “If truth be told, he’s actually on exceptionally good terms with nearly all of them so there shouldn’t be any crying or embarrassing tantrums – either from the girls or Simon.

Kate Moss has joined forces with the music mogul and British businessman Sir Philip Green to form a global entertainment super-company which the trio hope will be able to compete with Disney.

Sinitta – who dated the ‘American Idol’ judge for around 16 years on and off – admits her relationship with him was tough as they were apart so much due to work commitments.

Asked if they did date for such a long time, 40-year-old Sinitta replied: “On and off, because Simon was a horrible cheat! He was a horrible cheat. He was always disappearing and stuff, you know, and I’d have to work and he’d almost be laughing as he waved me off on a plane to Japan, like, ‘Great, I’m going to have a really good time while you’re away.’ I’d be crying he’d be laughing! He reckons that I broke his heart, but he definitely broke mine.”

Rubbish: claims that Susan Boyle YouTube videos didn’t make any money

According to various reports, a failure to agree on advertising terms has meant that UK TV network ITV, Simon Cowell and YouTube have made no money from YouTube videos of Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle.

The line goes like this: ITV and YouTube have disagreed over the type of ads to be shown against the videos, with ITV wanting pre-rolls, and YouTube wanting overlays and surrounding ads. Because they can’t agree, no ads have been shown against the anywhere from 40 million to 100 million (reports conflict) views of Susan Boyle singing videos, therefore as the headline at Mashable suggests “Susan Boyle Video Profits: $0.”

It’s a great tale, accept that it’s so completely not true it begs belief that anyone could suggest as such. Yes, ads haven’t been shown on YouTube with the video, but there is clearly a value in having free exposure to 100 million viewers, most of who would never have been aware of Susan Boyle or even Britain’s Got Talent to begin with.

But lets not talk in theory, because here’s some facts from our Susan Boyle file. Susan Boyle is negotiating a record contract with Sony BMG. Celebrity show contestants usually have to sign over part of their earnings to the shows producers (Simon Cowell), and the TV station might even get a cut. If the record deal comes through, there’s a pile of money from the YouTube videos, because lets face it, she wouldn’t be an international sensation without them. But it gets better, because there’s also a Susan Doyle movie in the works. Again, this will result in profits for Cowell and ITV if it happens. Last but not least is the massive exposure Britain’s Got Talent has received; the show could have increased ratings in the UK, meaning more ad sales for ITV, and the format has had massive international exposure, meaning more rights sales to other countries.

Indeed the only person who hasn’t made money off of Susan Doyle is YouTube. Given the millions the rest are making, ITV shouldn’t be asking YouTube for ad money, they should BE PAYING YouTube for all the free advertising.

Susan Boyle warned against Hollywood makeover

Susan Boyle, who you probably already know, (the Britains’ Got Talent sensation heard here and seen perform here) is urged to resist a Hollywood aka “Simon Cowell” makeover by Britains’ Got Talent jugde Amanda Holden.

As previously reported Susan Boyle’s audition has been seen by over 20,000,000 times on YouTube. She has already performed on several US television shows via satellite link-up and Oprah Winfrey has invited Susan Boyle on Oprah’s show. (Maybe that’s what Oprah is going to tell us, when she tweets her first tweet later today.)

Demi Moore also admitted that she is a big fan of Susan Boyle on Twitter.

Amanda Holden told The Daily Mirror:

“I won’t let Simon Cowell take her to his dentist and I certainly won’t let her near his hairdresser,”

“She needs to stay exactly as she is because that’s the reason we love her.

“She just looks like anybody who could live on your street.

“The minute we turn her into a glamourpuss is when it’s spoilt.

“That can perhaps come later when she has signed the album deal and conquered America.

“For now we’ll keep her exactly as she is because that’s why we’ve all fallen in love with her.

“I think it’s the underdog thing.”

Actor and American singing legend Frankie Avalon made a guest appearance on American Idol Wednesday night to sing his 1959 hit Venus.

The tie-in came with “the year of your birth.” Simon Cowell was born in 1959, and the segment started with video of Avalon from the era, before he appeared on stage, to a standing ovation from the judges and the audience.

Few in the audience knew who he was, but for those who did, they were simply surprised that he was still alive. Ironically perhaps, the 1980 movie that was loosely based on his life story was called “Idolmaker.”

American Idol host and professional dick Simon Cowell is known for being a cad, and that apparently reaches to the blogosphere.

One of our writers ran a quick post yesterday highlighting the fact that Simon Cowell has hairy man boobs. A touch in jest naturally, and the image was widely featured on celeb blogs.

Then we, and presuming the other sites received a legal threat from Cowell’s lawyers claiming among other things that running the photo breaches Cowell’s rights under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

The lawyers are American, but apparently they’re incapable of filing a compliant DMCA request. We’ve removed the photo: at the end of the day it’s not worth a fight over, but ironically it took about 2 seconds to find a similar 12 month old shot that wasn’t mentioned in their email.

Here’s what a letter from a Grade A blog bully looks like. As of now we won’t be offering Cowell anything other that negative coverage in the future.

The taking of the Photos as well as there apparent subsequent publication on your Website, and any other online outlets, and wide spread dissemination and publication constitute an egregious violation of Mr. Cowell’s substantial rights of privacy, including specifically under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights as incorporated into the U.K. Human Rights Act of 1988, as well as under the U.K. Data Protection Act of 1988. See also, Campbell v. Mirror Group Newspapers Ltd., 2004 WL 852s411 (HL 2004); Douglass v. Hello! Ltd., [2001] Q.B. 967, [2001] F.S.R. 40, later proceedings, [2003] 153 N.L.J. 595, 2003 WL 1822887].

Demand is made that you immediately and permanently remove the Photos of Mr. Cowell from your websites and cease and desist from any attempts to disclose or disseminate the Photos and confirm to me in writing your agreement to do so without delay. Demand is further made that you return all of the originals and any copies of the Photos (whether print or electronic) in your company’s possession to our office or, alternatively, confirm in writing that they have been destroyed.

As you may be aware, Mr. Cowell is extremely vigilant in protecting his privacy and other rights and will not hesitate to employ all of his rights and remedies, including calling on the powers of the U.S. and U.K. Courts, and any other jurisdiction as applicable, in order to protect and seek vindication of his legal rights. This matter will be no exception. In the absence of your immediate agreement to stop posting, displaying or disseminating the Photos, further legal action will be commenced against you and your Website’s owners and operators.

We reserve our client’s rights to recover monetary damages compensating him for the harm which has already resulted from the wrongful exploitation of his privacy rights.

Please govern yourself accordingly.
