Joseph Gordon Levitt, actor and CEO of digital collaboration company HitRecord will be making his directorial debut. The actor and social network entrepreneur announced to Deadline that he will be making his directorial feature debut in an Untitled comedy which he will star with Scarlett Johansson.

Gordon-Levitt has penned the script and Nicolas Chartier’s Voltage Pictures will finance the film. Ram Bergman will produce for Bergman productions and Gordon-Levitt’s very own HitRecord Films will be in association. Shooting begins on April 16th. The film is said to be a sexy comedy about a man who’s trying to not be such a “selfish dick”. Joseph Gordon-Levitt will also star in the film alongside Johansson. The second female role is yet to be cast at this point. “I wrote myself a helluva role, one that people wouldn’t necessarily thought of me for,” said Gordon-Levitt.

Gordon-Levitt finds himself in the director’s chair in the midst of a huge year, with Looper, The Dark Knight Rises, Premium Rush, and Lincoln all coming out this year. His career is certainly on fire and he’s become a household name which seemed to happen very quickly with his reemergence into the scene with 50/50 after taking a break from acting.

“I was a child actor for years and quit at 19, went to school awhile, and a big part of why I came back was that I ultimately wanted to make movies,” Gordon-Levitt said. “I spent a year working with Chris Nolan, Rian Johnson, Steven Spielberg, and I did my best to pay attention. I’ve also been making short films for a long time now, I’ve directed a ton of them, and that is a huge part of why I feel comfortable and confident in this.”

With the bloated schedule Joseph Gordon-Levitt is taking on his role in “Django Unchained”, Quentin Tarantino’s slave-era drama will have to fit in there somewhere “It will be tricky schedule-wise, but I was honest with Quentin upfront,” Gordon-Levitt said. “He was so cool and encouraging. He said, ‘You strike me as the kind of guy who would want to direct,’ and I took that as high praise.” Gordon-Levitt is repped by CAA.

After the divorce of Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds was finalized over the summer, the couple had to set about dividing their substantial marital assets.

Both successful young Hollywood talent, the pair have some considerable items to divvy- like their palatial, multi-million dollar architect-designed Loz Feliz home. The property, known as the Wong House, is valued at $3.65 million and boasts four bedrooms, three bathrooms, full walls of window in each room and a built-in swimming pool. And while Scarlett and Ryan’s former shared abode is pushing 40, the home has been updated with mod cons like solar panels and eco-friendly touches. And New Yorkers will probably be envious at the nearly 3,000 square-foot layout overlooking the ocean- all disguised by a spare, modern and stripped down exterior.

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds married back in 2008, and their separation was made public in December of 2010. Since their breakup, the former Mrs. Reynolds has been linked with Sean Penn, while her ex was rumored to be dating Sandra Bullock. Now Reynolds is said to be dating Gossip Girl star Blake Lively, while Johansson is- according to the Daily Mail- reported by a friend to have designs on a London pad and perhaps a new British boyfriend:

“She was always a little uncomfortable about the fact that Ryan and Blake worked together while she was still married to him. When Scarlett is in New York she keeps a low profile. She wants to give the whole party scene a miss.

“She’s filming a movie called Under The Skin in Scotland at the moment but she is hoping to meet someone new. She adores British men and would love a place and a man in London.”

So, who is Scarlett’s new squeeze? Well, unlike her previous flames, he’s not actually famous. Radar Online pins him down as a New York advertising executive called ‘Nate Naylor.’ A source told the site:

“They’re keeping it very, very low key. He’s not one for the limelight and fame and she likes that about him. Nate is an avid art collector and has a lot of famous friends in the New York art world. He and Scarlett have had dinner with the fashion photographer Terry Richardson a few times. Nate’s not impressed by Scarlett’s celebrity at all, and she loves that. It’s just about two people who like each other. They wanted to take things slow, but now they see each other four or five times a week.”

Johansson and, ugh, ‘Nate’ were spotted strolling around New York at the weekend, with the 27-year-old actress looking rather smitten.

Johansson had a tumultuous love life during 2011. She split from Sean Penn only a few months ago, and finalised her divorce from Ryan Reynolds in June, after the couple announced their separation in December 2010.

Reynolds is now seeing Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively, and rumors suggest Johansson is looking for a property in London, to move away from the New York party scene and any chance awkward meetings with Reynolds and Lively.

Scarlett Johansson recently took some time out of her busy schedule to sit down and talk about her divorce from Ryan Reynolds and her naked phone photos that have dominated web searches.

Speaking with Vanity Fair (she appears on the December cover) Johansson said of her photos:

 ”I know my best angles,” while adding, “They were sent to my husband (Ryan Reynolds). There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s not like I was shooting a porno.” while she added, “Although there’s nothing wrong with that either.”

The actresses candid remarks come less than one month after Christopher Chaney of Jacksonville, Florida was arrested for targeting Scarlett and other Hollywood actresses.

ScarJo also tells Vanity Fair that her split with husband of more than two years Ryan Reynolds wasn’t easy:

“I didn’t really know what to do with myself,” she says of the split, “It was such a strange time. There was nothing that was interesting to me. I had a very public separation. It was difficult. I felt very uncomfortable.”

The couple split in November 2010 and it appears up until this time to be amicable although oddly enough Johansson seems more uncomfortable with the public watching her marriage fall apart then seeing her in the nude.

Scarlett Johansson’s new advert for Dolce & Gabbana has arrived, and it is shamelessly nonsensical.

Let it be said here that I’m not anti-Johansson per se (I liked her a lot in Ghost World and Lost in Translation), but this ad stinks, and not in a way usually associated with Dolce & Gabbana.

The forced delivery is distracting enough, but the dialogue is especially tedious, a 90-second monologue that comes across as cheesy and smug in the extreme.

“I had an Italian boyfriend once. His mother broke up with me,” Scarlett simpers. “Music inspires me. Art inspires me. But so does the wind,” sighs the star of Iron Man 2. “I like my lips. For kissing. And words that start with the letter M.” And then the cringeworthy, toe-curling zenith: “I’m not an actress. I just play one in the movies.” Groan.

In the latest issue of US Weekly the magazine claims that Scarlett Johansson and Joseph Gordan-Levitt were spotted making out in New York City. The two have reportedly gotten pretty cozy since Johansson split from Ryan Reynolds, but a rep for Levitt says that the kiss is just a rumor.

In the new US Weekly, which hits stands Friday, the magazine quotes a witness saying:

 ”They were kissing. They were very lovey. They first met about a film they wanted to do together, but it’s gone beyond that now.”

US Weekly reports that Levitt and Johansson have been seen a few times together in New York, and had a few romantic dinners in the SoHo area.

But Gordan-Levitt’s rep says that the two stars are not romantically involved. His rep said that Levitt wasn’t even in New York at the time of the alleged make out session.

Gordan-Levitt’s rep told Celebuzz:

“Joseph wasn’t even in NYC the night that US Weekly is reporting they were spotted together.”

Was US Weekly just trying to sell magazines? Is Levitt’s rep lying? Why would he want to lie about dating ScarJo?

Speaking to Vogue, Fincher explained some of the reasons he chose Rooney Mara, a less famous name than Johansson, for the part of Lisbeth Salander:

“Look, we saw some amazing people. Scarlett Johansson was great. It was a great audition, I’m telling you. But the thing with Scarlett is, you can’t wait for her to take her clothes off.”

To be fair, “Sorry, you’re way too hot” is probably not the worst way to be rejected. Fincher talked up Mara to the magazine, comparing the 26-year-old to, er, E.T?

“I keep trying to explain this. Salander should be like ‘E.T.’ If you put ‘E.T.’ dolls out before anyone had seen the movie, they would say, ‘What is this little squishy thing?’ Well, you know what? When he hides under the table and he grabs the Reese’s Pieces, you love him! It has to be like that.”

The Fight Club director added that Mara’s portrayal of Salander had the “most layers,” saying her lovability and strangeness had appealed to him.

Mara also spoke to Vogue, giving an insight into some of the physical changes that she’d been through for her art. Apparently these involved weight loss, having her hair shaved on the sides, her eyebrows bleached, and her nipple, nose, eyebrow as well as lip pierced – all in the space of 24 hours:

“I went in looking like [her character in "The Social Network"] Erica Albright (her character in ‘The Social Network‘) and I came out like this. The eyebrows were the biggest shock because that really changed my face, and I didn’t recognize myself. But I was fine because I knew it was going to be really helpful for getting into character.”

“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” is set to open in in U.S. theaters on December 21st, and let’s face it: Johansson or not, this is going to be pretty huge. Mara will be joined by, among others, Daniel Craig, Robin Wright Penn, Stellan Skarsgard, and Christopher Plummer.

Last week Christopher Chaney was arrested for allegedly hacking, and leaking naked pictures, of celebrities like Scarlett Johansson and Mila Kunis. But Chaney isn’t some computer mastermind. He’s just a guy with a lot of spare time on his hands. As it turns out, hacking a celebrity account is relatively easy.

When someone chooses a password they usually choose something like their mother’s maiden name or a childhood pet. That information may be somewhat secretive for the everyday person, but there is so much celebrity content on the internet that finding out the name of Scarlett Johansson’s dog is probably just a few clicks away.

CNET correspondent Declan McCullagh told Fablife:

“How do I find your mother’s maiden name, or how do you find my mother’s maiden name? Not easily. But for Scarlett Johansson, I can just look at Wikipedia. Do I know your pet’s name? No, and you probably can’t find it online. But Mila Kunis might have her pet’s name mentioned in a magazine profile.”

Chaney allegedly hacked into the accounts of Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis, Christina Aguilera, and a dozen other celebrities, by using Yahoo’s, Gmail’s, and Apple’s password recovery feature. He just collected the right information off the internet and was able to answer the questions correctly.

“It started as curiosity and it turned into just being, you know, addicted to seeing the behind-the-scenes of what’s going on with these people you see on the big screen every day. I was almost relieved months ago when [the authorities] came in and took the computers… because I didn’t know how to stop doing it myself.”

McCullagh recommends that people, especially celebrities, use random passwords like two unrelated words from the dictionary. And as far as nude pictures go… keeping them on an online account or on your phone is probably not the best idea.

If I don’t agree with someone or if I’m annoyed I will tell people to their face – no matter how hurtful that might be. That can get me into trouble from time to time. I hate stagnation!”

Since the split, Scarlett Johansson has been linked to Sean Penn, Bradley Cooper and Kieran Culkin.

One might say that an actor in his prime with two blockbusters out in theaters and who is newly single might be having one of the best summers of his life.

Reynolds and then-wife Scarlett Johannson announced they were filing for divorce in December of last year, and rumors circulated that the couple were driven apart by divergent opinions on whether or not to have kids- friends say Ryan is a “family man,” while Johannson felt her career was “her baby.” Their divorce was finalized just a few weeks ago.

“Well,” you might say, “he’s still a super famous and successful movie star!” And you would be right- but, as BlackBook points out, his two big summer films have had middling at best performances this year- with the high profile Green Lantern expected to lose a significant sum when all is said and done at the box office:

Instead, Green Lantern is already out of theaters with a $114 million domestic tally (not nearly enough for a movie that cost a reported $200 million to make) and The Change-Up is well on its way to being the only R-rated comedy to flop in a summer defined by the success of R-rated comedies… Meanwhile, Ryan’s actor broheims are just murdering it. James Franco just bought himself a two year pass to paint, write, sing, and perform whatever he wants while still maintaining the cover of film stardom, while Ryan Gosling is, well, Ryan Gosling. Even Justin Timberlake is in a more enviable position right now, if only because he had the luck of not getting cast in Green Lantern.

Still, Reynolds is, at 34, in an excellent spot to maintain his position in Hollywood. His next release, CIA-thriller Safe House, stars box office teflon actor and Oscar-winner Denzel Washington, and is slated to hit theaters in 2012. And he’s set to co-star with another Academy Award recipient, Jeff Bridges, in the 2013 release R.I.P.D. 

Lastly, rumors have also circulated that the tinseltown hunk may be rekindling things with Johannson after all. “Snoops” spotted the erstwhile marrieds out at an “intimate dinner,” and report that the ex-Mrs. Reynolds has been “texting and calling him non-stop since the dinner.” So maybe it’s not all bad for Reynolds.

In 2010 actor Ryan Reynolds and his actress wife Scarlett Johansoon shocked a lot of people when they officially filed for divorce in December, however a new rumor is circulating that the couple may be reuniting after they were spotted having an intimate dinner together in a California restaurant this week.

According to snoops, they were seen at one of their favorite restaurants, a spot they frequented on a regular basis as a married couple and those around them said they appeared to be very flirty as they shared a secluded section of the restaurant alone.

Speaking to OK! Magazine an insider said they originally called it quits because Ryan wanted to be a dad and Scarlett wanted her career to come first, they revealed:

“Scarlett said her career is her baby,” while adding,. “But Ryan’s a family guy.”

That same source told the celebrity magazine that her short-lived relationship with Sean Penn was just a rebound.

“She got over the pain of their split by jumping into a fling with Sean, but when that fizzled, she admitted that she felt incredibly alone.”

Apparently she’s been hard at work trying to mend her broken relationship:

“Scarlett had been asking Ryan to meet since the first week of June. She’s been texting and calling him nonstop since the dinner.”

It could have just been a dinner among a former couple who have remained friends, at this time the couple’s reps are not disclosing any further information about their recent dinner or future plans.

Last week in a creative 2-minute video uploaded to YouTube, Sgt. Dustin L. Williams asked the 26-year-old Lost in Translation star to accompany him to the Marine Corps Ball on November 10th.

Unfortunately for Sgt. Williams, Johansson had “prior commitments,” which left her unable to accept his offer.

Despite having to say “no” to the ball, Scarlett didn’t exactly leave the Sergeant empty handed – she sent him a case of champagne to express her appreciation for his service to the United States, accompanied by the following message:

“I feel incredibly honored to have been invited to the Marine Corps Ball by Sgt. Dustin L. Williams. Not only does Sgt. Williams deserve recognition for his bravery, selflessness and dedication to the United States and its people, but he also displays a cheeky talent for film making. Unfortunately due to prior commitments I will not be able to attend the Ball with you this year but I am sending you a case of Moet & Chandon with gratitude …”

According to a report by People, Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn have split up a little less than four months since the couple’s relationship first became public.

Speculation that the couple may be splitting up was high after Scarlett Johansson was noticeably absent at the Cannes Film Festival, where Penn’s film The Tree of Life was being premiered. Johansson is currently at work on The Avengers, to be fair, but that didn’t stop her absence from standing out like a sore thumb.

The Daily News’ Gatecrasher reported at the time that Penn was spotted returning to his hotel with two “super-hot” women. “They weren’t sharing the elevator. They were going up together,” their  source said.

Since their relationship went public, the couple had been spotted at several events together, such as the White House Correspondents’ Dinner back in April, getting cozy with one another. For a relationship I considered to be strange in the first place, I can’t say that I’m all that surprised. In fact, what took so long?

Scarlett Johansson – who plays Natasha Romanoff and her sexy alter-ego, Russian spy Black Widow, in the new superhero movie – strained her muscles while shooting an energetic fight scene.

She explained: “I had such a great stunt team who were unbelievably supportive. They were like, ‘You can do it! Go!’ And you have to believe you can do it and that’s when it works.

“I have to say though, I’ll probably never be able to turn my neck to the left again.”

Scarlett, 24, previously revealed she really enjoyed the physical aspects involved in her role.

She said: “I’ve never done anything like that before – especially the physical side of the stunt work. I’d never been able to challenge myself in that way so that was exciting – something new. And it used up aggression too!”

‘Iron Man 2′ – which also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Mickey Rourke and Robert Downey Jr. – is due for release next May.

Iron Man 2 is quickly turning into an A-List ensemble cast, with Mickey Rourke and Scarlett Johansson both confirmed to join Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, and Samuel L. Jackson in the follow up to last years surprise hit.

Scarlett Johansson will play the Black Widow, a Russian spy. The role was originally going to Emily Blunt, who stepped aside due to her obligations to Gulliver’s Travels. A rep for Johansson said only that “Scarlett is thrilled to be a part of Iron Man.”

Mickey Rourke takes on the role of villian Whiplash. Fresh from his comeback in The Wrestler, Rourke is perfect for the role. The Whiplash character won’t be faithful to the comic series, instead being a combination of that character and the comic book character known as the Crimson Dynamo.

Iron Man 2 is slated for a May 2010 release.

Even though Scarlett lives a life in the spotlight, she told Bazaar that she tries to keep things to herself as much as possible. ”You have to protect some things, even if it’s a silly detail like who designed your dress,” she said. “It was private, which is what I really wanted. I’ve never been the girl who thought of the big dress, the big ceremony. I’m more low-key than that. Most people want photographers at their wedding, and for us it was how do we leave them out?”

Maybe there isn’t much to talk about, anyway. Scarlett admitted that her marriage isn’t a big deal, and that “I feel like everything is really normal, it’s calm and natural, like the way it should be. I have no perspective on it because it’s been such a short time. I would never try to profess some knowledge that I discovered. I’m happy and it feels very regular, which is good.”

Scarlett did admit one surprising goal: she hopes to “run a brothel”. . . in a Western film, that is! “It’s only so long that people are going to want to see me in a corset,” she added.

Scarlett Johansson will be suing the U.K. version of Cosmopolitan magazine after they reportedly published a misleading interview chock-full of false information. According to Johansson’s rep, the January cover story is an “obvious attempt…to gain monetarily by misinforming their readers” and contains quotes that were “completely made-up“!

Interestingly, it wasn’t just the quotes that were off– ScarJo’s rep also claims that Scarlett did not even grant permission for an interview with Cosmo, going on to tell E! News that “she has never discussed her personal relationships with the publication.”

Scarlett told U.S. Cosmo last year in August that she was planning on going the “normal celebrity route” and not talk about personal topics, so now we’re all wondering who said the stuff about living “a very private and modest lifestyle”? 

It could be her clone’s fault! Scarlett should really look into that.

He’s Just Not That Into You see’s an all star cast appear in a new film based on the self-help book of the same name by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo.

The plot chronicles the romantic misadventures of several individuals in their twenties and thirties with one person in each relationship is more “into” the other person than vice versa.

Produced by Drew Barrymore’s Flower Films, it stars Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johansson, Justin Long, Jennifer Connelly, Ginnifer Goodwin, Kevin Connolly, and Bradley Cooper; and is being directed by Ken Kwapis.

The release date for He’s Just Not That Into You is February 6 for the US, with other major markets later in the month.
