Weiner goes on to say that ‘it can be hot,’ and when asked if he’s turned on by other guys, says ‘it depends on the guy, but generally yes’.

A source close to Weiner also told RadarOnline that the former congressman is not gay, just very sexually open.

The revelations of Weiner sexually explicit texting with more than 6 women was one of the top political scandals of 2011 and led to Weiner’s resignation from Congress last June.  Since stepping down, Weiner and his wife Huma Abedin,have tried to stay away form the cameras. Huma was pregnant at the time of the scandal, and recently gave birth to baby boy Jordan Zane Weiner.

Nobles went into sordid detail in the book to describe the different explicit chats she and Weiner had, and about the things he told her he did at his congressional office also.

In addition to being in hot water with all the dirty talk, supposedly Weiner had talked at length with Nobles about his level of comfort with his in-laws who supposedly didn’t accept him because of his religion.  If they were upset then, I wonder how upset they are now?

Why won’t this scandal die?  Is it because Weiner is just too easy to go after?

Jon Corzine. Former Chairman of Goldman-Sachs, Former US Senator, Former New Jersey Governor and Former Head of MF Global.  There are very few people who fit the title of “Washington Insider” better.  Now it seems as if Corzine is heading to the Hot Seat.

Jon Corzine was called for questioning before Congress on the bankruptcy of MF Global, which he oversaw until it entered bankruptcy in October.  He seemed a bit confused and puzzled as he spoke in a grainy voice to the House Agricultural Committee about the implosion of the firm.  He stated “I Simply Do Not Know” where 1.2 billion dollars in clients money disappeared to.  He tried to paint a picture of a firm in chaos leading up to the bankruptcy filing but expressed some level of optimism that client’s csh would turn up.

Corzine could wind up being personally liable for client losses if it turns out the firm acted irresponsibly with their funds.  Under SEC regulations, the CEO of a financial firm must personally certify that the company financials are correct or possibly face civil suits against their personal assets.

MF Global was invested heavily in European Sovereign Debt, investing heavily in countries such as Italy and Spain.  Corzine claimed that it wasn’t the firm’s European investments that caused the collapse but a strong turn around in consumer confidence experienced in late October.

Corzine spent months on Capitol Hill since taking over MF Global.  He lobbied heavily against regulations which would have limited the firm’s ability to engage in high-risk investments.  He also wanted to avoid new reporting requirements which may have brought about the demise of MF Global even earlier.

Herman Cain is facing fresh allegations of an affair, after an Atlanta woman alleged a 13-year-long relationship with the Republican presidential candidate. Speaking to Atlanta FOX affiliate WAGA, Ginger White said her relationship with Cain, who has been married for 33 years, ended only a few months ago.

For his part, Cain (who’s becoming well-drilled in the art of issuing denials) offered a preemptive denial to White’s claims, saying she was a woman who he regarded as an “acquaintance,” and whom he had tried to help. Speaking to CNN, the businessman said:

“We will address these [allegations] when they come out. At this point, I just want to give you a heads-up, I don’t have anything to hide.”

His attorney Lin Wood was also in combative mood, telling the FOX affiliate:

“This appears to be an accusation of private, alleged consensual conduct between adults – a subject matter which is not a proper subject of inquiry by the media or the public. No individual, whether a private citizen, a candidate for public office or a public official, should be questioned about his or her private sexual life.”

Of course, while this may have been “private, alleged consensual conduct,” voters traditionally like their politicians to come with a clean record of fidelity. While Cain entered the GOP presidential candidate in promising fashion – he even led the pack for a while – allegations of sexual harassment have hammered his poll numbers.

As it is, the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO is happy to categorize Ginger White’s allegations with the numerous other accusations from other women, which he has labelled “baseless.” Indeed, he sees the accusations as a series of attempts to derail a campaign that he expects to end well:

“What this says is that somebody’s awfully afraid that I’m doing too well in this Republican nomination, to continue to dig up these stories to put a cloud and a damper on my campaign.”

The Jerry Sandusky sex scandal that has rocked Penn State has now caused at least six sponsors to pull their support from programs involved with the university.

Among those sponsors are Cars.com who pulled out of Saturday’s game on ESPN while other marketers have asked that ESPN not place their ads in spots following or preceding any news about the Penn State sex scandal.

One ad buyer told the Wall Street Journal:

 ”I have multiple advertisers pulling ads from the ESPN broadcast.”

Health insurers GM and Highmark in the meantime both announced that they are reviewing their sponsorship spots to determine if any association related to Penn State will hurt their image.

In the meantime some top level advertisers including State Farm and Pepsi have decided not to take action against the universities sex scandal cover-up.

As one VP for a sports marketing company points out it took sponsors for Tiger Woods several weeks to ditch the former golf star:

“Unlike Mr. Woods, this story affects more than a family unit, it affects all moms and dads so it will take longer to repair the school’s image.”

Officials at the university have attempted to rectify the situation as quickly as possible starting with the firing of Joe Paterno, the men’s football team head coach who served in his position for nearly five decades.

It seems to me that ESPN is paying the price for the actions of a third party. Do you believe that sponsors pulling their ads from ESPN is the right way to address the issue?

This story just keeps getting worse and worse. This morning Michael Söze reported here that Rebekah Brooks, a former chief executive of News International, has been arrested; and now we find out courtesy of a report in the Guardian Online that the man who started all this has been found dead.

Sean Hoare was the former News of the World showbiz reporter that came forward with the allegations that Andy Coulson knew full well about all the phone-hacking that was going on in the organization.

Hertfordshire police would not confirm his identity, but the force said in a statement: “At 10.40am today [Monday 18 July] police were called to Langley Road, Watford, following the concerns for the welfare of a man who lives at an address on the street. Upon police and ambulance arrival at a property, the body of a man was found. The man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained, but not thought to be suspicious. Police investigations into this incident are ongoing.”

Hoare, who has admitted to past drug and alcohol problems that have been dealt with, said recently that this is just the tip of the iceberg and that there is a private investigator with ties to the News of the World that could be coming forward soon.

As Hoare put it in an interview

 ”He may want to talk now because I think what you’ll find now is a lot of people are going to want to cover their arse.”

Hopefully this isn’t being investigated by the same police force that has been tied to this scandal.

Nothing goes down better than a nice juicy scandal especially when it comes to politics the only problem is that President Obama seems to be above all that mundane type stuff, except that is almost guaranteed to change according to political scientist Brendan Nyhan.

Nyhan has released a new study entitled “Where Are the Obama Scandals“ where he asks why Obama’s administration has not yet been hit by a major scandal. Nyhan goes on to point out that mathematics proves that this is going to change and that there is a huge scandal heading towards Obama like a train in a tunnel.

Obama has been extremely fortunate: My research on presidential scandals shows that few presidents avoid scandal for as long as he has. In the 1977-2008 period, the longest that a president has gone without having a scandal featured in a front-page Washington Post article is 34 months – the period between when President Bush took office in January 2001 and the Valerie Plame scandal in October 2003. Obama has already made it almost as long despite the lack of a comparable event to the September 11 terrorist attacks. Why?

Obama should be highly vulnerable to scandal given his standing with Republicans. My research identifies presidential approval among opposition party identifiers as a key risk factor. The reason is that discontent among the opposition’s base creates demand for negative news about the president, encouraging opposition legislators and members of the news media to promote allegations of misconduct.

The celeb news world is buzzing with reports of Amy Winehouse’s arrest, but apparently the law moves at a snail’s pace. Amy was scooped off of the streets today in relation to the possible crack smoking vid released in January, which turned out to be the same that got Peaches Geldof in a mess o’ trouble. I’m not positive how news of Amy’s footage got leaked so far before Geldof’s, considering that they were on the same memory stick, but Amy’s finally been hauled in to explain herself regardless.

The singer’s spokesperson confirmed that “Amy Winehouse voluntarily attended a London police station today by appointment. She was arrested in order to be interviewed and is co-operating fully with inquiries. The interview relates to a video handed to police earlier this year.”

Is Amy doing the first-name basis thing with the staff in the police station yet? It was just April 25th that she spent a night in jail for common assault.

Someone needs to take a looong vacation, way the hell out of Camden, and preferably away from all of us.
