Sarah Palin Claims Newsweek Cover is Sexist

Failed GOP VP candidate Sarah Palin features on the cover of Newsweek this week, and the photo used has got the darling of the uber-right fuming.

The Sarah Palin Newsweek cover uses a photo originally taken for Runner’s World magazine and shows Palin posing in running gear including rather short shorts.

Palin took to Facebook to slam the cover, claiming that the photo selection was sexist and was engineered by the liberal media to distract attention from the release of her memoir Going Rogue.

“When it comes to Sarah Palin, this ‘news’ magazine has relished focusing on the irrelevant rather than the relevant. The Runner’s World magazine one-page profile for which this photo was taken was all about health and fitness — a subject to which I am devoted and which is critically important to this nation” Palin said on Facebook.

“The out-of-context Newsweek approach is sexist and oh-so-expected by now. If anyone can learn anything from it: it shows why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, gender, or color of skin. The media will do anything to draw attention – even if out of context.”

Xbox 360 autographed by Sarah Palin going for a million bucks

Doggone it, here’s something. Ebay seller dmorrill123 has a luxury item that most of us Joe Six-packs might struggle to afford: a Sarah Palin-signed Xbox 360. The starting bid? A snip at $1.1 million. *winks*

“The infamous Sarah Palin XBOX 360 was autographed at the governors [sic] picnic on July 24, 2009, in Wasilla, Alaska, just two days before her resignation as governor of that state. You can own this 60GB, perfect-condition, one-of-a-kind item before her expected run for president of the United States of America in 2012.”

dmorrill provides photographic proof of his encounter with Palin (below), but whether or not the former Alaska Governor signed it is not the issue here. The issue is: one point one million bucks lolwut? That’s 3,666 new 60GB Xbox 360s, minus some sharpie ink. Plus a game or two, probably.

If this is a fake (and despite the obviously ludicrous price, I have a hunch it’s the real thing), then the seller at least did his research – Palin was at the governors’ picnic on the day the advert states.

Sarah Palin Divorce Reports Were Fake

The inquisitr has learned that the Sarah Palin divorce rumors from earlier were faked.

After the Sarah Palin divorce rumors spread earlier today, one of Palin’s reps posted the following statement to her facebook page:

“Yet again, some so-called journalists have decided to make up a story. There is no truth to the recent ’story’ (and story is the correct term for this type of fiction) that the Palins are divorcing. The Palins remain married, committed to each other and their family, and have not purchased land in Montana (last week it was reported to be Long Island).

Less than one week ago, Governor Palin asked the media to ‘quit making things up.’ We appreciate that the more professional journalists decided to question this story before repeating it.

Multiple reports are coming in today that former Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd Palin are divorcing.

In a recent story by the National Inquirer, both Sarah and Todd have been unfaithful to each other, putting tremendous strain on their marriage nd the resulting stress and controversy may have prompted Palin to resign as Governor of Alaska.

During Sarah Palin’s resignation speech last Sunday, her and her husband Todd were noticably uncomfortable together. After the speech, Sarah left the event alone. Apparently, she was not wearing her wedding ring at the time.

Palin has also signed book deal for a reported $11 million and purchased land in Montana, planning to move her family there in the near future. Todd Palin said in an interview recently that he plans to go back to work in the Alaskan oil industry.

Sarah Palin Steps Down As Alaska’s Governor

Fairbanks, AK (AHN) – With pomp and ceremony Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin declared she had finished the work she had intended to do as governor, officially stepped down from office Sunday and turned the reigns of governing over to Lt. Gov Sean Parnell.

She spoke for the last time as governor to a crowd at a farewell picnic in her honor at a park in Fairbanks, televised live. Palin’s resignation came 18 months before her term expired and sparked both criticism and approval for the unorthodox move by the former Republican vice presidential candidate.

Her appearance on the open-air stage drew applause and whistles as she thanked the people of Alaska and extolled the natural beauty of Alaska. “In this last frontier there is hope,” Palin said, referring to Alaska. She then went on to stress the importance of the nation’s military.

Saying that she was going to exercise her “freedom of speech,” she delivered a message to the media on its importance in reporting facts, saying: “Democracy is up to you.” She then called on the media to “quit makin’ things up,” to honor soldiers. She also called on the media to leave the new governor’s children alone. Both of those comments drew applause.

Palin then launched into comments about the Constitution and remembered her early days in office and patted herself on the back for ethics reforms and other things she had done in office.

She also talked about the necessity of developing natural resources as she talked about how far Alaska had come in the past 50 years, and emphasized the need to be pro-development while being pro-environment. “Alaska is the gatekeeper of the continent,” Palin said, and added that they were there for a changing of the guard.

She emphasized that she had resigned to avoid being a lame-duck, which would enable her to fight even harder for the people of Alaska and champion the state, smaller government and freedom “like that grizzly guards her cubs.”

Sarah Palin camp secures online identity for 2012 Presidential race

It appears as if Sarah Palin really does have intentions of running for the U.S. Presidency in 2012.

A source did some basic investigating and discovered that the internet domain names, sarahpalinforpresident.com and sarahpalin2012.com have both been registered by a man named Jay Griffin from anchorage, Alaska. Now it’s not unusual for someone to register domain names on speculation, but what makes this whole thing interesting is that Griffin is also on the Alaska Republican Party Central Committee with Sarah Palin.

Even though Palin hasn’t come right out and confirmed that she is gearing up to run for President in the 2012 elections, the fact that somebody close to her geographically and politically has been taking steps to that effect surely will take some of the surprise out of it when it is announced.

GAME ON! Sarah Palin Slams Blogs & Big Media: “STFU or I’ll Sue!”

No beating around the bush this time – Sarah Palin is the queen of all idiots. That’s my opinion to which I am entitled, but Palin does not want you, dear Americans, to have that opinion or to even persist with hard questions that put her previous and present dealings in the spotlight.

In the wake of her ill-timed, self serving slap in the face to people who elected to have her Govern the State of Alaska, and since she gave absolutely no indication as to why she is resigning, the media frenzy and speculation has, naturally, run rampant. Seasoned political journalists from the likes of CNN, to armchair wonk bloggers and everyone in between have been speculating as to why Palin quit and what her future holds in store.

The stories are leaning all over the map and rightfully so – because we don’t know what the hell is going on. It’s not often a Governor just quits out of the blue and even less often do they do it for no apparent reason.

And amidst all this speculation, Sarah (Einstein) Palin takes to her Twitter account and starts threatening legal action against practically every media outlet, blog and armchair pundit on the internet. In other words: Sarah Palin is threatening to sue you, dear Americans and in particular, Alaskans, the very people who elected her.

One of the links Palin published on her Twitter account leads to a downloadable PDF document. It’s a 4 page letter written by Palin’s Lawyer, Thomas Van Flein. The first three pages go into trying to debunk the claims that Palin might have resigned as Governor of Alaska because of a scandal surfacing surrounding a sports complex, her personal home construction, and a ton of unanswered questions surrounding her tenure as Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska.

Then in the second to last paragraph, the Lawyer actually names several sites and one person whom they intend to target with Defamation suits for abusing their right to free speech. Those named are:

And in particular, the person who they’re blaming for starting it all, Liberal Alsaka-based blogger, Shannyn Moore.

Did Sarah Palin Resign as Governor of Alaska because she’s pregnant?

There has been a whirlwind of speculation as to why Sarah Palin suddenly announced her resignation as Governor of Alaska. Some think it’s stress related from all the attention her and her family have been subjected to, particularly the moral issues surrounding her daughters. Some think she may even be preparing to run for President of the United States in the 2012 Presidential elections, but the one that is probably most interesting was presented by CNN’s Rick Sanchez.

In a discussion on CNN earlier today with Candy Crowley, Rick Sanchez says:

There have been a couple other situations that might cause someone to feel a lot of stress. But aside from those, is there anything going on with her that perhaps may lead her to want to make this decision, and the one thing that’s still left out there is, hey, could she be pregnant again.

Could Sarah Palin have resigned because she’s pregnant?

Letterman, Palin Drama – Advertiser Abandons CBS in wake of Lewd Comments

In the wake of controversy surrounding David Letterman’s lewd comments about Sarah palin’s daughters, CBS has lost an advertiser.

Embassy Suites, part of the Hilton Hotel chain, has pulled their advertising from CBS web properties after recieving numerous complaints from concerned customers.

A spokesperson for Embassy Suites/Hilton Hotels said:

“We received lots of e-mails from concerned guests and we assessed that the statement that he made was offensive enough to our guests and prospective guests that we elected to take the ads down.”

Embassy Suites ads did not air during Letterman’s show.

A rally is planned outside the Ed Sullivan theater in Manhattan on Tuesday following calls by Sarah Palin supporters to “fire David Letterman.”

Letterman drew a considerable amount of outrage after a controversial crack at Yankee Stadium that Bristol Palin was “knocked up” by Alex Rodriguez- during the seventh inning. He further got right-wing panties in a knot by likening Palin’s look to that of a “slutty flight attendant” during one of his “Top Ten” segments last week.

The movement even begat a website, Fire David Letterman, and a mission statement:

Our Mission Statement: David Letterman Must Held Be Accountable For His Disgraceful Statements

In addition to shameless abuse of the Caps Lock key, the site also frustratingly, deliberately misconstrues Letterman’s joke to be about Willow, not Bristol Palin. That simple misdirection plants the joke firmly in the “inappropriate comments about the underage” category (Willow Palin is 14), likely to sway advertiser opinions on the matter.

While it is unlikely such a cultural icon will be unseated so easily, the movement has drawn some high-profile supporters. Palin superfan John Ziegler has predictably joined the fray, and New York State Minority Leader Brian Kolb is also calling for Letterman’s firing.

Wayne Anthony Ross, the man picked by Sarah Palin to be the next Attorney General of Alaska has some rather interesting views about women.

Ross is involved with an extreme men’s rights group called DAD. The group, among other things believes that the Government shouldn’t interfere with family matters in the home. Guilt by association doesn’t necessarily cut it though in Alaska, after all Sarah Palin’s husband was a member of the Alaska Secessionist Party, and Palin spoke at their events. No, in Alaska, you actually have to really be involved…and Ross was. Here’s what Ross is alleged to have had to say about women at a DAD event:

“If a guy can’t rape his wife…who’s he gonna rape?”

“There wouldn’t be an issue with domestic violence if women would learn to keep their mouths shut.”

The Attorney General appointment process in Alaska involves public hearings, and sites including The Mudflats are gathering support to oppose Ross’ appointment.

Bristol Palin: abstinence not realistic

Bristol Palin, daughter of failed GOP VP candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, for a time America’s most famous pregnant teen has given an interview about her pregnancy and life in the spotlight.

The interview aired Monday on Fox News Channel’s “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren” and dare I say it, Bristol Palin actually comes across as more reasonable than her mother.

The best line from the interview was Bristol saying that the abstinence preached by her mother was “not realistic” because teen sex is “more and more accepted.”

On rumors that Sarah Palin forced her to have her baby, she also took full responsibility: “It doesn’t matter what my mom’s views are on it. It was my decision, and I wish people would realize that, too.”

While we doubt Bristol is about to become a spokesperson against the abstinence movement any time soon (the full quote “Everyone should be abstinent, but it’s just not realistic at all”) it’s refreshing to see that even in such a conservative household that Bristol can see reality, and not just Russia from her back window.

SarahPAC formed: Looks like Palin is running in 2012

Failed GOP VP candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has launched a political action committee to help support candidates for federal and state office.

SarahPAC will support “fresh ideas and candidates who share our vision for reform and innovation.” SarahPAC welcomes supporters of any political persuasion and will contribute to candidates of any party who share her ideas and goals, but obviously it will help if you’re a Republican, or Alaska Independence Party member.

A PAC (political action committee) is a legal structure that allows for raising of funds, and are regularly used by politicians seeking higher office, such as President of the United States. The chances of Palin running for the GOP Presidential nod in 2012 just became far more likely.

Well yesterday saw Joe the Plumber resurfacing so I guess it is no surprise that the other media hound from the election shows up today. Yes folks Gov. Palin has surfaced again but this time as part of a YouTube distributed documentary. In the doco Sarah Palin blasts the media and specifically Katie Couric for the way she was treated during the campaign.

Bristol Palin Birth: Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston

Bristol Palin, the 18-year-old daughter of Alaska Governor and failed GOP VP Candidate has given birth.

Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston was born on Sunday, weighing 7 pounds, 4 ounces (3.3kg).

Relative Colleen Jones told People Magazine that the baby is fine and Bristol is “doing well.”

Bristol Palin was, at least for a short time America’s most famous pregnant teen, after her mother was forced to disclose the pregnany after accepting the Republican Vice Presidential slot. Her relationship with the child’s father, and their family has continued to remain gossip fodder, particularly after the child’s grandmother was arrested on drugs charges.

Palin’s Wasilla Bible Church attacked. Burn baby, burn?

The Wasilla Bible Church, the Alaskan church made famous as being the religious outpost for failed VP candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has caught fire.

The “suspicious” fire devastated the church Friday night, and officials are considering arson among possibilities. A ladies craft group was in the building when the fire broke out, although no one was hurt.

Palin released a statement after the fire and offered an apology to the assistant pastor “if the incident is in any way connected to the undeserved negative attention the church has received since she became a vice presidential candidate.”

Burn baby, burn? Estimated damage is in the vicinity of $1 million.

Sarah Palin Turkey slaughter

She’s back!!! Alaska Governor and failed Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin appeared on local television this week to pardon a turkey from slaughter, a tradition lifted from the White House. But that’s where things got interesting.

After pardoning a turkey, Palin did an interview to camera, and in the background a Triple-D Farm and Hatchery worker slaughtered a turkey. Nothing fazes Sarah Palin however: advised about what was going on behind her, she told the reporter “no worries” and the interview continued. Scenes include the worker behind Palin and clearly in shot slicing a turkey’s neck, bleeding it out and twisting its head off.

MSNBC has a mostly safe for viewing copy of the video with the gory bits blurred out, but with enough showing so you get the full idea without felling ill.

Conservatives call for Fox News boycott over Palin treatment

Republicans supporting failed VP Candidate Sarah Palin aren’t very happy at the moment about the continued media disclosure of stories such as Palin thinking that Africa is a country, and they want to do something about it.

Their target: Fox News.

A thread with strong support on right wing political site Free Republic has called for a boycott of Fox News for airing the Palin allegations

I propose that we punish the FOX Network for its hatchet job on Sarah Palin.

For one week beginning at 3:00 PM today no one tunes them in. We will demonstrate the power of conservatives when their ratings plummet dramatically.

Will you join me?

Palin didn’t know that Africa was a continent

It just keeps on giving. As recriminations start to fly in the Republican Party about the election loss, new details on Sarah Palin’s knowledge have started to emerge, and there’s some serious humdingers.

According to the following report from Fox News, Palin didn’t know which countries are in the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), but better still, didn’t know Africa was a continent and thought it was a country!

Even Republicans would have to start to agree now: thank god she’s no where near the red button.
