B-Movie fans, it’s time to get excited. “Iron Sky” tells the story that we’ve all been waiting to see. What would happen if Sarah Palin was president, Newt Gingrich set up a moon colony, and Nazi’s attacked from space? That, basically, is the premise of this terribly fantastic movie.

Here’s the official synopsis from the movie’s website:

“Iron Sky is dark science fiction comedy that takes place in the year 2018, when the Nazis, who fled the Earth to the dark side of the Moon in 1945, return to claim the Earth.”

Sarah Palin isn’t specifically listed in the credits. Instead, actress Stephanie Paul plays a character called simply “The President of the United States.” It does seem, however, that Paul is doing a Sarah Palin impression in the trailer.

“Iron Sky” will debut this weekend at the Berlin International Film Festival. Director Timo Vuorensola said:

“It is simply mind-blowing that we get to have the world premiere of Iron Sky in Berlin, of all places!. I hope the movie’s antifascist message will resound with audiences.”

The film is bound to have at least some financial success since it was partially financed by fans through the film’s website. According to Wired, “Iron Sky” will open in Finland on April 4th. It will hit the United States during the South by Southwest film festival in Austin, Texas.

Former Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin just can’t get away from her admiration for Newt Gingrich.  Palin told Greta Van Sustern on Fox News that Gingrich is the one that Obama truly has to fear.

she talked at length about how President Obama is happily gearing up for a fight against Mitt Romney.  Romney is favored to win the Republican nomination.  She says that she think President Obama beleives that Mitt Romney is truly beatable.

But when it come to Gingrich she had this to say,

“Well, I think that Newt Gingrich would be the toughest debater, debating ideas and solutions, and his experience as one who had learned through the Reagan revolution what true conservatism is, and how it is that with foreign policy we need to provide that peace through strength in our world, and how it is that we need to balance budgets and we need to slash budgets because we are going bankrupt, all those things that Newt has talked about in his campaign. I think that he could most brightly contrast himself against what Obama’s failed policies have done to this country through debates. So that’s why I say that Obama, I believe, would really fear having to debate Newt Gingrich.”

Palin has yet to officially endorse a candidate in the Republican Primary.  She has come out on a very pro Gingrich line as of late but is careful not to attack Romney.  Her husband Todd officially endorsed Gingrich.

Today three states are in play.  Minnesota, Colorado and Missouri.  A win by Gingrich in any of them can reinvigorate his campaign.

Well, it’s the moment you have all been waiting for! HBO’s original movie Game Change on Sarah Palin’s political rise and fall is on its way.

The network released the trailer, which is sure to get political pundits attention, and bring in viewers just based on the dramatization of the 2008 election.

Based on the book “Game Change” by  John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, the film stars the remarkable Julianne Moore, who seems to have ripped a page out of Tina Fey’s book by nailing the look and mannerisms of a naive yet determined Governor of Alaska.

The film depicts the ups and downs of the campaign, including being away from family life, being undermined by staff, not being properly prepped for interviews, and of course her infamous “you can see Russia from my house” line. The film doesn’t just focus on her struggles but the negative reactions of the people on her campaign, which up until now has only been speculated. The trailer also shows the infringing relationship between Sen. John McCain (Ed Harris) and Palin disagreeing over the direction to take the campaign as well.

Other notable dialogue snippets include:

“They’re telling me what to wear, how to talk. I am not your puppet,” screams Palin into her cell phone after an televised interview gone wrong.

The film directed by Jay Roach is already receiving criticism for being a propaganda piece against Palin. HBO has promised that the movie is even portrayal on both sides and is a fair representation of Palin’s time on the circuit.

HBO released its first official trailer for its new film “Game Change” about the 2008 presidential election. Julianne Moore takes on the role of Sarah Palin and the movie doesn’t hold back any punches.

The short trailer features Sarah Palin’s infamous “I can see Russia from my house” flub and paints McCain’s former running mate as more an actress than a politician.

Here’s the synopsis from HBO:

“This new HBO film follows John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign, from his selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate, to their ultimate defeat in the general election.”

Palin brings excitement to the campaign but the political pressures also get to her in the movie. Moore said:

“We have her displaying moments of sheer brilliance –- I mean, she was unbelievably charismatic. Suddenly here was this working class mother who popped out and seemed to be able to command the world, but of course upon further inspection, she was clearly not prepared. She didn’t necessarily have the experience necessary to lead our country, and that’s what we were attempting to characterize.”

“Game Change” will premiere on HBO on March 10 at 9pm EST.

Former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin said that when Chris Christie attacked Newt Gingrich in the press that the governor made a “rookie mistake”.

In an interview with Fox Business News Palin said,

“You know, sometimes if your candidate loses in just one step along this path, as was the case when (Mitt )Romney lost to Newt the other night, and of course, Romney is Chris Christie’s guy. “Well, you kind of get your panties in a wad and you may say things that you regret later. And I think that that’s what Chris Christie did.

Christie, who has been one of Romney’s biggest supporters, criticized Gingrich as being an embarrassment to the Republican Party.

Palin has recently become quite the Gingrich cheerleader said that by attacking him Christie played right into the media’s hands.

“Here’s a host that asked Chris does Newt embarrass the party. I think he asked him twice, and there Chris played right into it and, you know, spewed that about, yeah, Newt embarrassing the party. He’s been in office a year or two, is all, and might think that he — he’ll learn that the media — they goad you. They want you to say things like that in order to boost ratings and make it more of a reality show-type scenario.”

Christie did not have any response to Palin’s charges.  There is really no love lost between the two.  Christie made it a point to keep his distance from Palin during his run for the Governor of New Jersey.

Also during the interview Christie shot down any rumors that he would be running as Vice President.  He said that he will be Governor of New Jersey in 2012.

Sarah Palin may not be running for the presidency in 2012, but she could still find her way into the White House. Newt Gingrich said today that he would consider Sarah Palin as his running mate for the 2012 election.

Gingrich, who was taking questions from callers in Iowa, was asked if he would consider Sarah Palin as a running mate. Gingrich said:

“She is certainly one of the people you would look at. I am a great admirer of hers and she was a remarkable reform governor of Alaska, she’s somebody who I think brings a great deal to the possibility of helping in government and that would be one of the possibilities.”

Gingrich may have just been playing to the audience, but according to the International Business Times, the potential GOP candidate continued to praise Palin and said that he would ask her to be a member of his cabinet if he did not choose her for a running mate.

Gingrich said:

“There are also some very important Cabinet positions that she could fill… I can’t imagine anyboy who would do a better job of driving us to an energy solution than Gov. Palin.”

Sarah Palin ran as John McCain’s running mate in the 2008 election and many political pundits partly blame Palin’s involvement in the campaign for McCain’s loss to President Obama and Joe Biden.

Sarah Palin has been the subject of several spoofs throughout her political career. Tina Fey’s impression of John McCain’s 2008 running mate is easily the most famous, but Julianne Moore could give the SNL alum a run for her money with her performance in Game Change, a new HBO film about the 2008 presidential race.

The Huffington Post reports that the movie is based on the book “Game Change,” by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann. Ed Harris will play John McCain, Woody Harrelson plays adviser Steve Schmidt, and Julianne Moore will step into the boots of Sarah Palin.

Moore didn’t give her opinion on Sarah Palin, but she did say that filming the movie gave her a different perspective of politics in general. Moore told ABC:

“So much is about how do you get on the air, how do you get the most media attention, how do you make the most noise. When, in fact, what we’re all looking for is leadership. We don’t want noise. We want people who are going to take care of us.”

Dear Santa: If you bring America anything this year, please make it the gift of Sarah Palin being distracted by something shiny and not following through with what seems to be hints about running for president.

Yes, Sarah Effing Palin. While America thought she was an embarrassing blip in the election of 2008′s footnotes, the former governor of the great state of Alaska has stuck her head back in to a- let’s face it, fairly woeful- stream of GOP candidates to flirt with the Republican base a bit. While Palin running has yet to be a concern for the demographic of Americans with brains, the fractured GOP field of candidates seems to be drawing the attention-whoring tendencies of Palin and her lovable band of oddly-named children to the fray.

Appearing on Fox’s Business Network’s “Following the Money,” Palin Palin-esquely said that “it’s not too late for folks to run,” as the New York Times details on a blog. In her nudge nudge, wink wink way, Palin definitely seemed to be hinting at ratcheting the crazy up to eleven in the GOP candidates pool:

Such “folks” remained unnamed. It was not clear whether Ms. Palin, the 2008 vice-presidential nominee and former governor of Alaska, was considering such a move.

“Who knows what will happen in the future?” she said.

After all, Palin says, she can’t just endorse anyone. That person has to be like, smart and stuff. The NYT quotes:

“You know, my endorsement is going to be with sincerity and enthusiasm,” she said, “and I’m just not there yet with the field as it stands.”

She said she was looking for a candidate “who understands the fiscal crisis” that America faces.

Are Sarah Palin’s 15-minutes of fame finally up? The sometime politician, occasional author, and wannabe reality star is pitching a new project about her husband Todd’s career as a snowmobile racer, but so far, no one is jumping on the opportunity to produce the show.

“Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” Palin’s last venture into reality TV, sold for more than $1 million per episode. According to the Telegraph, the show broke a ratings record for TLC when it debuted with an audience of more than five million viewers. For the second episode, however, the viewership dropped to three million.

Sarah Palin, she’s always going rogue. Palin apparently angered Fox News Chief Roger Ailes when she announced her decision about the 2012 election on Mark Levin’s conservative radio show instead of on Fox.

Palin announced on October 5th that she wasn’t going to run for president on Mark Levin’s radio show. After she got the media fire started, she appeared for an interview with Greta Van Susteren on Fox to confirm her decision.

But for Fox News Chief Roger Ailes, it was too little too late. Ailes, who pays Palin millions to appear on Fox News, was infuriated that the exclusive didn’t come to Fox first.

Gabriel Sherman at New York Magazine writes:

“Ailes was so mad, he considered pulling her off the air entirely until her $1 million annual contract expires in 2013.”

After the follow up interview, Roger Ailes had a meeting with a Bill Shine, Palin’s principal contact with the network. Ailes said:

“I paid her for two years to make this announcement on my network.”

According to New York Magazine, Palin made the decision to announce her non-presidency on Levin’s show because Levin was a big Palin supporter, and partly out of spite. Palin was apparently upset with Ailes and the Fox network for giving too much air time to Karl Rove, who is one of her biggest detractors.

Tension between Palin and Ailes hasn’t exactly subsided since then. Palin was hired by Fox News when she was “hot” in a hope to boost ratings, but Palin’s media draw has waned in recent months. Palin’s contract is up in 2013. It’s unclear if Fox will contain her. Will Fox be able stand three years of “will she or won’t she” run for president stories?

Palin could give Fox one last boost before she exits, though. Palin is expected to throw her support behind one of the GOP candidates. Fox News Chief Roger Ailes is hoping that she’ll make the announcement on Fox.

America, I’ve got some bad news. Sarah Palin will not be our next president. The Tea Party darling announced today that she will not be running for the presidency in 2012.

In an open letter to her supporters, Palin says that she decided not to run for president after some serious prayer and consideration.

Palin writes:

“I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.”

The Huffington Post notes that the disappointing news comes after months of speculation over Palin’s political future. Palin made many people believe that a 2012 campaign was coming when she embarked on a bus tour of the United States.

Palin added:

“My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency.”

Palin may truly believe that she can help the United States more effectively out of office, but her announcement not to run may also have to do with a damaging new book that recently hit shelves.

“The Rogue” claimed that Sarah Palin was having an extra-marital affair, dabbled in cocaine, and slept with NBA player Glenn Rice. After the book was released Palin threatened to sue Random House for the damaging stories.

Palin’s lawyer said:

“The final work that was published contains most of the stories that Mr. McGinniss complains were nothing more than ‘tawdry gossip’ that amounted to the wishful fantasies of disturbed individuals… Since both your company, and the author, clearly knew the statements were false, admitted they had no basis in fact or reality, but decided to publish in order to harm Governor Palin’s family, you and Mr. McGinniss have defamed the Palins.”

Sarah Palin has threatened to sue Crown Publishing Group, a division of Random House after the company published a book titled “The Rogue” which uses “unnamed sources” to publish knowingly false statements about Sarah Palin and her family.

At this point the former vice-presidential hopeful is just trying to have questions answered, according to a source close to the Palin family in an interview with ABC News:

“Palins are fighting back and demanding answers from Random House.”

“Random House is at the top of the food chain and published a book based upon acknowledged unsubstantiated gossip,” the source said. “The revealing email is key as evidence of this defamatory approach to politics through proxies.”

According to Palin’s lawyer  John Tiemessen the gossip is “malicious”  and Crown publishing “were fully aware the statements in the book were false, intended to be false, and were intended to harm.”

Tiemessen writes:

“The final work that was published contains most of the stories that Mr. McGinniss complains were nothing more than ‘tawdry gossip’ that amounted to the wishful fantasies of disturbed individuals,” while adding, “Since both your company, and the author, clearly knew the statements were false, admitted they had no basis in fact or reality, but decided to publish in order to harm Governor Palin’s family, you and Mr. McGinniss have defamed the Palins.”

Tiemessen says at the end of his letter that the publishing company is not to “delete emails or destroy records” that may be used in the suit.

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that the Palin family and McGinniss are feuding, Sarah Palin had an enormous fence erected at her home in Wasilla when McGinniss moved next door to the family to conduct research for his book.

McGinniss sent TLC a cease-and-desist order demanding they not show footage of him sitting at his next door home after filming ended, that clip was shown on the very first episode of Sarah Palin’s Alaska.

John McGinniss’ tell-all book about Sarah Palin revealed plenty of dirty secrets.  The book alleges that Palin slept with NBA star Glen Rice, that she did copious amounts of cocaine, and that she had an affair with one of Todd Palin’s business partners while she was the Governor of Alaska. Many people are questioning the book’s accuracy, but it looks like McGinniss has at least one believer, as Todd Palin is reportedly filing for a divorce from his wife, Sarah.

The National Inquirer claims that Todd is “fed up” with all of the rumors and scandals that have surrounded Palin ever since she ran for Vice President. This new book has added more fuel to the fire and Todd is ready to get out.

But the salacious secrets in ”The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin,” could do more than just end her marriage. The Daily Mail reports that Palin’s advisers have told the Tea Party darling to forget about the White House, as they fear that a presidential bid would cause people to dig even deeper into her past.

According to an unnamed source:

“Sarah Palin has been destroyed by Joe McGinniss’ no-holds-barred biography. It exposed all her lies, cover-ups and secrets. As a result she has been told by her advisers that it would be political suicide to announce a White House candidacy. The press and her opponents would have a field day digging into the dirty details of her background.”

Levi Johnston is not a popular man. The 21-year-old has already been voted Alaska’s least favorite human being. But Johnston is getting the shaft, claim husband-and-wife team James and Lois Cowan.

Who? James and Lois Cowan are the ghostwriters of Deer in the Headlights: My Life in Sarah Palin’s Crosshairs, Johnston’s new 320-page book that hit bookstore shelves yesterday.

The Cowans volunteered to write Johnston’s memoir after seeing Sarah Palin portray Johnston as a “deadbeat dad” and “scumbag.” The couple felt sorry for Levi, and wrote to his agent offering their services. “What we saw was a kid, a nice kid,” Lois Cowan said. “Someone needed to rise to his rescue.”

As the Cowans were based in Florida, they took two month-long trips to Alaska, interviewing Johnston for countless hours. Meetings took place in Johnston’s Wasilla home, in the Cowan’s hotel room, and with Johnston in his pickup truck.

They grew to like him, and the feelings were mutual. In the acknowledgements section of his book, Johnston writes that, “The Cowans […] thought I was getting the shaft.” He adds elsewhere:

“We got beyond the ghostwriter-author work, and had conversations because we enjoyed spending time together. They acted like another couple of parents — pushing, prodding, expecting me to understand and explain a confusing series of events and a time when I often chose to bury my head under my quilt.”

The $25 tome charts Johnston’s journey from a simple hunting and fishing lifestyle in Wasilla, Alaska to being centre of attention in the media scrum that was the 2008 National Republican Convention.

When author Joe McGinniss moved in next door to Sarah Palin, the Fox pundit built a fence to keep the reporter’s peeping eyes away from her family. Apparently the fence didn’t work. McGinniss was able to get his hands on plenty of Palin dirt and alleges in his new book that Sarah Palin had sex with basketball star Glenn Rice in the 1980s, did cocaine while snowboarding with her husband, and had an extra-marital affair with one of Todd’s business partners for 6 months.

None of these allegations have been proven yet, but McGinniss will provide a few more details when his new book, ”The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin,” hits bookshelves next week.

After obtaining an advanced copy of the book, the National Inquirer gave a preview of some of the juiciest details. The National Inquirer says that she had a “fetish” about black men in her 20s when she allegedly slept with Glenn Rice. According to the Miami Herald, Glenn Rice confirmed the one-night stand.

Crown, a division of Random House that is publishing the book, said:

“Based on McGinniss’s on-the-ground reporting that began in late 2008…this book is a startling and penetrating examination of the illusion and reality of Palin. The Rogue delves deeply into Alaska’s political and business affairs and Palin’s political, personal, and family life to chronicle how and to what extent Palin and her beliefs, attitudes, and outlook will influence and even change life in America and the perception of America abroad.”

Sarah Palin’s Past Dug Up In New Book; Glenn Rice? Cocaine? Extra-Marital Affair? is a post from: The Inquisitr

Levi Johnston is back in the press, this time with a new book that attacks ex-girlfriend Bristol Palin’s pregnancy. In the book he claims that Bristol was so angry with her mom’s pregnancy with son Trig that she got pregnant out of spite.

Levi says in his book Deer in the Headlight: My Life in Sarah Palin’s Crosshairs that once she found out her mom was pregnant she said in March 2008 “let’s get pregnant.”

The news of her decision comes after Bristol revealed in her own book Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far that she lost her virginity to Levi while drunk on wine coolers during a camping trip, an excursion Levi says he never attended (maybe it was another Levi).

Jabs at Bristol should almost be expected from Levi who has been fighting with the Palin family for years.

In his book Levi says he had “been too dumb” to use protection even though he knew having a baby was her ultimate goal. Bristol became pregnant at 17-years-old and had her baby after she turned 18.

Johnston also reveals in the book that Sarah Palin laughed the first time she heard about the pregnancy, believing it to be a joke, while dad Todd Palin raised his voice and said Levi had to quit school and get a job.

In another part of the book Levi says Sarah wanted to adopt the baby to “avoid a scandal” but Levi and Bristol wouldn’t allow it, giving birth to a healthy baby son (Tripp) in December 2008.

We’ve known for a while the reality has a strong liberal bias, but fans of Sarah Palin have now resorted to attempting to re-frame history to support another one of Palin’s inadvertent historical revisions, borne of pure ignorance.

Revere’s role in the American Revolution is stuff of legend, even if he never likely warned fellow colonists (who at the time themselves were British) with the specific wording that the “British were coming.” But Palin even flubbed the pop-culture version, telling reporters Revere “warned the British.” Instead of admitting her mistake, Palin attempted to explain away her error as asserting that Revere went on his Midnight Ride to warn British troops that colonists were set on protecting their Second Amendment rights- a right that didn’t actually even exist for another decade and a half.

But no matter! Sarah Palin will not be wrong. Did Palin fans kindly explain that it was a mistake anyone could have made or that many Americans were a bit shaky on history about the Revolutionary War? No, they did not. They went and edited the hell out of Wikipedia to make commonly trafficked sources of historical fact reflect Palin’s weak attempt to explain away her ignorance on the subject.

At what point, when you are sitting there editing our country’s proud tale of resistance against the monarchy and struggle for autonomy, does the intellectual dishonesty overwhelm you? Never? I’m going to go with never. Sorely disappointed in you, small portion of America. This is our history and it was completely fine without Palin’s spin. Honestly- you get caught doing this, you should have your citizenship revoked.

Palin Fans Desperately Trying to Edit History to Support Palin’s Paul Revere Mistake is a post from: The Inquisitr

Sarah Palin has, not surprisingly, stepped up to defend her somewhat questionable statements about Paul Revere’s role in the American Revolution.

Palin, whose knowledge of Social Studies and American History have proven to be somewhat spotty in the past, says her account of Revere’s Midnight Ride was accurate. Originally, Palin had said:

“…He who warned the British that they weren’t going to be taking away our arms by ringing those bells and making sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free!”

Palin clarified- in typical Palin form, making her original meaning that much less intelligible:

Jane Lynch- known to Glee fans as Sue Sylvester, the scheming Cheerios coach- killed during a speech at D9 earlier this week.

Lynch, speaking as “Acting CEO” of News Corp., ragged on Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck, sniping:

“I’m launching a Fox News investigation into the young and fresh face cast of  Glee. I have some inside information and I don’t believe one of them are real Americans. I’ve also convinced Glenn Beck to stay on at Fox for one final gig – as a dying patient on House — with a horrendous malady. His sickness is consuming him from the inside out.”

Lynch also roasted soft target Palin:

“Though not firm as of yet, I’m pretty sure we got Sarah Palin to do a guest spot on Glee. She’ll perform an original tune I penned: ‘Look at Me, I’m Batsh*t Crazy.”

Conservative idols weren’t the only target of Lynch’s deadpan humor. She also announced plans regarding The Daily:

“Never heard of it, never seen it, so clearly I’ll be shutting that down…”

and some old media targets:

“I’ll be incorporating a comics page into the Wall Street Journal. I’m a big fan of Family Circus. So seemingly mundane, and yet dripping with irony. It works on so many levels.”
