Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar is back on the small screen in the thriller The Ringer, years after her hit show Buffy the Vampire Slayer catapulted her fame and cult-favorite status.

Gellar, who is married to fellow late-90′s star Freddie Prinze, Jr., has always been tiny, blonde and well-regarded for her looks. But even stars have days where they feel less than gorgeous, and Gellar commented on crippling insecurity in a recent interview. Although she may have been speaking tongue-in-cheek, when asked about confidence, Gellar remarked:

“Oh God … I’m a female! I totally have body dysmorphic disorder. I think most women do. A makeup artist friend once said, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you look in a mirror.” I’m surrounded by them all the time—you sit in hair and makeup—so I guess I just have this mechanism where I tune it out.”

Gellar says that some of her looks-related stress evaporated after she became a mom, and she continues:

“So every once in a while, I’ll look and I’ll be like, “Wait, that’s what I look like?” I just have to remember that I’m human, and I’m a mom. Being a parent changes the vanity at least a little bit. It has to. Your priorities are different.”

Gellar admits that her favorite pics of her body would have come from before her pregnancy, but also says that women should be less uptight about changes to the female body in motherhood. The star also says that women as a whole are far more critical of women’s bodies than men could ever hope to be:

“And it’s also funny, too, how women perceive women, and how men perceive women. Because a woman will look at the skinniest person and think that’s the most attractive, and a man will not think that’s attractive at all!”

Nearly two million people tuned in to watch Gellar on the second episode of The Ringer, on the CW this week.

In a few weeks, four decades of scandal will come to an end. The iconic soap opera, “All My Children,” will end its 41-year-run later this month. PEOPLE Magazine will be saying farewell to Susan Lucci, Melissa Leo, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Carol Burnett, and numerous other stars who have appeared on “All My Children,” with a commemorative book, PEOPLE Celebrates All My Children. 

The book will hit news stands tomorrow and will feature exclusive photos, interviews, and stories about the legendary series.

Lucci told PEOPLE:

 “I loved Erica Kane from the moment I read my first audition scene, and I will always love her. She made me feel like I can fly. The show always had a mandate to inform as well as entertain. The story lines about drug addiction and gay teens… it was groundbreaking.”

The commemorative book will be a nice way to remember all of the fantastic (and ridiculous) story lines from “All My Children,” but the soap opera hasn’t said goodbye just yet.

The show will air its final episode on September 26th, and it looks like they’re going out with a bang. Carrol Burnett, Josh Duhamel, and Sarah Michelle Gellar, will all be returning during the final stretch of episodes.

“All My Children” executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers said:

“It is our honor and pleasure to welcome back Carol Burnett to Pine Valley. Verla Grubbs is a beloved member of the All My Children family and we look forward to reprising her character.”

After the last episode of “All My Children” airs on television, the show will continue on the internet, but without Susan Lucci.

Buffy fans, take heart- star Sarah Michelle Gellar is going to be back on your tee-vee this fall!

Alas, Buffy the Vampire Slayer isn’t coming back to regular programming (though it runs on Logo in syndication every so often), but Gellar is set to play a fairly interesting double leading role in a new CW show called The Ringer. The set up is pretty interesting, with Gellar playing twin sisters Bridget and Siobhan. (Full preview below!)

Bridget, the main character, is on the road to repairing her life when she witnesses a professional hit. She reunites with her estranged sister Siobhan in New York. Siobhan is wealthy and connected, and no one in her life knows about Bridget. The two reconnect, but then Siobhan disappears. Bridget steps into her sister’s place, and discovers that Siobhan’s seemingly charmed existence may be far more complicated than it looks from the outside.

While Buffy may not be back, Gellar acknowledged in an interview how important the show was, both culturally and to fans:

”I have the greatest fans in the world, and I loved my show. I think sometimes, too, you need that time to understand that it was a cultural phenomenon, a legacy,” she said. “I want to honor those people who were so good to me and show them something worthy of their time and worthy of them. I think it was worth the wait.”

The cult TV star says that she believes the plot twists in The Ringer will get fans hooked quickly:

“This is the person who in the middle ofThe Sixth Sense yelled out, ‘Oh my, God! He’s dead!’” Gellar says about herself. “Usually I see it coming, and I didn’t see [Ringer's plot twists] coming.”

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Sarah Michelle Gellar is reported to be pregnant.

This will be the first child for Gellar, who has been married to fellow actor and occasional co-star Freddie Freddie Prinze Jr. for six years.

People reports that Gellar is currently scheduled to shoot the HBO pilot The Wonderful Maladays. Prinze recently starred in a pilot for ABC.
