Singer and former Smiths front man Morrissey is blaming Britain’s royal family for the recent suicide of Jacintha Saldanha, according to Rolling Stone.

Morrissey has been in a nasty and frequently hateful feud with the royal family for several years. In the wake of the nurse’s death, the singer has openly criticized Kate Middleton for visiting the hospital for what he feels was no good reason.

The musician said in a recent interview:

“There’s no blame placed at Kate Middelton who was in the hospital for, as far as I can see, absolutely no reason. She feels no shame about the death of this woman. She’s saying nothing about the death of this poor woman. The arrogance of the British royals is staggering, absolutely staggering; and why it’s allowed to be I don’t know.”

During his chat with the folks at 3News, Morrissey also speculated that the real reasons Kate Middleton visited the hospital are probably being kept from the prying eyes of the British public.

The singer added:

“Does she have a health condition? Is it anorexia or is it a pregnancy, we don’t know. Well what is the health condition, I mean morning sickness already? So much hoo-ha then suddenly [she is] as bright as a button?”

Over the summer, Morrissey took issue with the royal family once again during the 2012 London Olympic Games. In a letter to his fan club, the singer boldly compared Britain to Nazi Germany.

“The ‘dazzling royals’ have, quite naturally, hi-jacked the Olympics for their own empirical needs, and no oppositional voice is allowed in the free press,” Morrissey wrote in his letter. He added that the “spirit of 1939 Germany now pervades throughout media-brand Britain.”

The singer’s controversial antics may soon be drawing to a close. Morrissey intends to retire from music in around two years.

Smiths frontman Morrissey doesn’t care much for the royal family, and his remarks aimed directly at Prince Harry and Kate Middleton made that lack of support extremely apparent on Monday.

During an interview with Australia’s Herald Son, Morrissey said of Harry:

“I wasn’t surprised by Harry in Vegas because he’s always been an absolute idiot. The monarchy is foremost a business, and it’s important to them that the British public continue to finance the excessive luxurious lifestyles of the now quite enormous, wasteful and useless ‘royal’ family. I find it very sad.”

After that comment, Morrissey could not help but go after the Royal Family further:

“They are the most dysfunctional, unpleasant and arrogant people on the planet. A sour soap opera, and they should resign and retire.”

Morrissey further admits that Prince Harry’s actions in Las Vegas only back up his point that the entire Royal Family needs to be ousted.

Morrissey is in the midst of a retirement tour, perhaps realizing he may not have the spotlight he does at the moment, his attacks on the Royal Family have grown more vicious in nature. Morrissey recently attacked the Royal Family and the London Olympics all in one swoop.

One group Morrissey is standing behind however are animals, admitting during his interview that he was offered a 100 percent vegetarian event if he would promise to reunite with the Smiths for a Coachella event.

In light of Kate Middleton’s naked breasts and bare bottom appearing in publications all over the world and Prince Harry showing off his family jewels, Morrissey has plenty of ammunition to use against the Royal Family.

I have a feeling this won’t be the last we hear from the former Smiths frontman in regards to the royals.

Widow Olga collapsed on her doorstep at about 10 am (GMT) Tuesday, reports The Mirror. Both princes were reportedly left devastated by the news, with a spokesperson for William and Harry saying:

“The princes have been informed and are very saddened to hear the news.”

Olga looked after the princes while they lived at Kensington Palace. She was a nanny to the young royals for 15 years and was with them as their parents divorced and when their mother, Princess Diana, died in 1997.

The nanny received an invite to the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton last year and only last week wrote to Harry to express concern for his safety after his military camp in Afghanistan was the target of a Taliban attack.

In an interview in 2011 conducted shortly before William and Kate tied the knot, Olga reflected on how the two princes “were just like any other children” and “like my grandsons.” She added:

“I have a very normal relationship with them. Their upbringing was very normal and their parents wanted them to have as ordinary a childhood as they could. If they saw a muddy puddle they wanted to jump in it and if there was something to climb, they wanted to climb it.”

Three years after retiring from her nanny role, Olga Powell was awarded the Royal Victorian Medal.

Queen Elizabeth wears a hoodie while sitting behind the wheel of a Range Rover in a photo that shows a different side to the royal icon.

The picture, which was published in the latest issue of Us Weekly, reportedly was taken after a grouse hunting session over the weekend. In the picture, the Queen wears the hoodie over her head and close to her eyes as she peers over the steering wheel of her Range Rover.

It’s a pleasant change for the Royal Family that, for the past week or so, has some even more scandalous pictures to deal with. A series of photographs of Prince Harry at a wild bachelor party in Las Vegas shook the family, leading to criticism of Harry and even a break-up with his model girlfriend.

The Queen reportedly met up with her grandson Harry and his father, Prince Charles, after the Las Vegas pictures were released. Not all of the family has been as supportive as Prince Charles and the Queen, Us Weekly reported. His brother William decided to remain at his home in Angelsey, Wales with his wife Kate Middleton rather than attend the emergency family summit.

Before Harry’s scandal broke, it was the Queen who was getting most of the headlines in the Royal Family,  The Huffington Post noted. She made quite a splash at the Olympics, whether it was parachuting in from an airplane with James Bond (although not really) or watching the athletes enter the Opening Ceremonies with an unimpressed look.

Now it appears that the suddenly hip Queen wears hoodies instead of her trademark large floppy hats, but The Huffington Post may have another explanation. The picture, which can be seen here, might actually be a scarf pinned down to hear head with bobby pins, the report suggested.

Prince Harry’s “handlers” and security team are allegedly in trouble with the Royal Family for not monitoring his Las Vegas antics far more closely. TMZ reports the Royal Family became furious when a nude photo of Prince Harry was published on the internet. Prince Harry naked in Vegas is not exactly going over well with the British Army either, as previously noted on The Inquisitr.

Nude photos of Prince Harry, 27, were reportedly snapped during his Las Vegas trip by some young women who had accompanied the Royal and his pals back to a VIP suite at the Encore. TMZ also notes that Prince Harry and the group of revelers were enjoying a night out in Vegas together before the nude photos were captured by a cell phone camera. Radar Online reports the “Party Prince” is also blaming his bodyguards and handlers for not confiscating cell phones.

The Royal Family’s anger allegedly stems from a lack of due diligence by Prince Harry’s handlers and security team. The young women enjoying the company of Prince Harry and his friends were not asked to turn over their cell phones upon entering the Las Vegas suit, which is reportedly standard protocol. Radar Online reports the Royal Family has banned the publication of a naked Prince Harry photos from running in UK tabloids.

As the night of fun continued on, several of Prince Harry’s female companions reportedly began snapping pics of the Royal from their cell phones. According to TMZ, one of Prince Harry’s handlers simply said, “aww, come on – no photos,” but did not confiscate the cell phones or erase the images of Prince Harry partying and in some stage of dress which the Royal Family would likely not consider proper for public viewing.

Prince Harry naked in photos is something which could have been avoided if the Royal’s handlers and security team had not been “asleep at the wheel” and enjoying the party a little bit too much themselves, a source told TMZ. Prince Harry was allegedly playing a game of naked pool when the photos which raised the ire of the Royal Family were taken.

Zara Phillips, Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter, became the first member of the Royal family to win an Olympic medal today as the Great Britain Olympic team claimed a silver medal during the show jumping portion of the equestrian events at the 2012 London Olympics.

Phillips gave a “disappointing” performance  at Greenwich Park but her teammates Tina Cook, Mary King and William Fox-Pitt were able to keep Team GB on the podium.

Yahoo reports that Zara Phillips and her horse High Kingdom hit one of the obstacles on the course and were docked 7-points. Her teammate Tina Cook, however, gave a nearly flawless performance and secured the silver medal for the British Olympic Team.

Cook said:

“To be honest [I was] just trying to focus on jumping a clear round… The team has done so well and it was so close, we could have got silver or nothing, and that would have been awful. Gold would have been brilliant, silver is fantastic.”

According to the Telegraph, Phillips is only the second member of the royal family to compete in the Olympics. Her mother, the Princess Royal, competed in 1976 but failed to win a medal. Her father, Captain Mark Phillips, won a gold medal at the 1972 Olympics but it was before he married into the royal family.

And as a member of the royal family, Zara Phillips had a lot of high-profile fans in the stands. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Kate Middleton and Prince William), Prince Harry, the Duchess of Cornwall (Camilla), Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were all in the crowd.

Prince William and wife Kate Middleton are now $16 million richer. The prince turned 30 on Thursday and that is the age for which he receives his late mothers inheritance. Princess Diana left half of her estate to Prince William and the other half to Prince Harry.

Following her death in 1997 Princess Diana left a net estate of £12,966,022 after an inheritance tax of £8,502,330. Thanks to shrewd investing the inheritance fund has since grown to approximately £20m for which William will receive half.

Many analysts believed after his wedding that Prince William would use his inheritance to buy a country home, however it now appears that it will be “life as usual” for the prince and his newlywed wife.

In the meantime Prince William has been thinking about another possible tour with the RAF’s Search and Rescue force, a decision that could delay the couple’s home search for several more years.

While he had admiration and a better understanding of his grandmother Prince William admits there is one thing he doesn’t understand, the royal corgis:

Then again having people around you all the time can not always be bad, according to one report Queen Elizabeth has a person who’s job it is to break in new shoes for her so they do not hurt her royal feet when she begins wearing her new shoes.

On June 21, 2012 Prince William of England will turn 30-years-old and on that date he is expected to receive a large inheritance left to him by his mother Princess Diana.

When Diana passed away in 1997 she left behind nearly $20 million worth of stocks, jewelry and cash which analysts believe through some smart investments that sum has now grown to approximately $30 million which is to be split between Prince William and Prince Harry.

Princess Diana had planned to give her boys access to the money when they turned 25, however following her death that age was upped to 30.

According to a source in an interview with the Daily Mail:

“It will be quite a handy sum if he wants to buy his and Kate’s first family house. What else would he need the money for?”

Kate and William already live in London’s Kensington Palace however sources say they are considering a second home close to Prince Charles’ Highgrove retreat.

Currently Prince William is earning around $60,000 per year as a Roay Air Force search-and-rescue pilot and he receives an allowance from his dad, he also has a $3 million trust from the queen mother.

In her will Princess Diana allows the boys to split up the estate as they saw fit and some experts believe Princess William may choose to leave more of the estate to brother Harry since William is likely to receive more money from the family’s various trusts and public funds in the future when he eventually becomes the king of England.

Almost fifteen years after her death in a Parisian tunnel, the coverage is not about to get any more low-key. Earlier this week, previously unseen pictures of the Princess and her sons, William and Harry, were revealed by the personal assistant of Lord Snowdon, former husband of Princess Margaret.

The PA took them along to the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow programme, where they were estimated to be worth £400 – £500 ($615 – $770).

Millions of British television viewers watched as the photographs were valued by the show’s expert, Clive Farahar. He told the Daily Telegraph:

“It really is fantastic. It’s an odd one, because the boys are dressed in sort of country casuals and don’t have any shoes on, and their nanny has not given them any socks as far as I can see. But the Princess of Wales is dressed up to kill.”

The former PA also had additional photographs of Diana with baby Harry and a formal picnic scene featuring Diana, Charles and both of the boys.

The personal assistant – who gave her name only as Evelyn – told the Telegraph:

“This was at the end of the sitting. The boys were still dressed. They had gone off to have their supper and Mummy was carrying on with the photographic sitting, and the boys rushed in to see what she was doing.”

Farahar added:

“So Mum went out of something casual, slipped into something formal and got the boys in. I love the story behind that. It shows how unstuffy she was.”

The Qatar royal family this week paid $250 million to secure Paul Cézanne’s The Card Players, part of a series by the famous artists.

The quarter of a billion dollar sale more than doubles the previous price for such a price which occurred last year during a secret sale. Last year’s record breaking sale of artwork came from a Picasso piece that sold for $106 million.

An art expert explained the sale to Vanity Fair:

“You take any art-history course, and a Card Players is likely in it,” while adding, “It’s a major, major image.”

Experts believe that the family purchased the work of art as they attempt to develop Qatar into an intellectual center.

This isn’t the first time The Card Players has generated interest, the painting for a long time was owned by a Greek shipping magnate who before his death had entertained bids of $220 million from several major art dealers. In the end it was Qatar’s oil cash that gulped up the piece.

More art buys are expected in the coming months and years ahead as the Qatar royal family has hired the chairman of Christie’s to find, value and purchase art for the countries increasing collection.

With that being said, I personally don’t believe that a country can simply become a cultural center by buying up and displaying a bunch of art pieces, they need to encourage the arts, inspire their artists and grow culturally from the inside out.

Qatar Royal Family Buys ‘The Card Players’ Painting For $250 Million is a post from: The Inquisitr

On January 2nd I reported about an unidentified body found on the grounds of the Sandringham House royal estate by a dog walker and now authorities using DNA technology have identified the victim.

According to police the body belongs to 17-year-old Alisa Dmitrijeva who was reported missing in August.

At this time police in the area are offering a  £5000 (Approx. $7500) reward for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) possibly responsible for the teens death.

While police have not revealed the exact cause of the death they have called it a murder case, noting that they are “investigating the murder.”

Alisa’s family had immigrated from Latvia and according to officials the body has been sitting at the time for some time between one and four months.

According to the areas police chief:

“We would like to identify people who may have worked in that area or were involved in organizing or running any specific events that may have taken place.”

The body was discovered while Queen Elizabeth II was celebrating Christmas as the Sandringham House, a traditional gathering spot for the royal family over the holiday’s. The Sandringham House has also been the private home for four generations of monarchs all the way back to 1862.

The estate is surrounded partly by a 600-acre country park that is open to the public.

Police have revealed very few other details at this time and the investigation is ongoing.

When he isn’t busy being all royal Prince William can be found rescuing sailors from sinking ships off the coast of Wales. That’s the scenario that played out this week when the military man and his fellow helicopter troops saved two Russian sailors from a sinking vessel.

The Prince and his fellow soldiers arrived on the seen where The Swanland  and it’s haul of 3000 tonnes worth of limestone was taking on water after it’s hull cracked due to bad weather conditions. Lt. William Wales was co-piloting the helicopter that was part of the search-and-rescue team that airlifted the pair to a base in Anglesey.

Rescuers were able to recover the two men however five more are still missing at sea and one sailors body was recovered close to the scene of the sunken ship.

According to a spokesman for the coast guard:

“We know that at least some of them are wearing immersion suits and have strobe lighting with them, however, sea conditions are challenging at best.”

While it’s just another day in the life of a search-and-rescue team the scenario shows that Prince William isn’t just a poster boy for the countries military efforts.

A fan of the Royal Family who couldn’t travel to London to see Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding due to illness has received a sweet slice of compensation – a piece of the wedding cake!

Mary Relph, 77, missed the ceremony in April after hurting her back. To make up for her disappointment, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall and stepmother to William, sent her a slice of cake with a personal note.

Camilla often chats to Mrs. Relph outside Sandringham church in Norfolk, so when she heard about the Royal superfan’s letdown, she was swift to act. The handwritten note that accompanied the cake read:

“A little bird told me you were unable to get to the wedding as you had injured your back. I hope this cake will help to alleviate this. With my best wishes, Camilla.”

Mary, whose Royal memorabilia collection includes a life-size cutout of Kate and William in her home along with plates, photos, and thimbles, has said she will never eat the cake. Instead, it shall take pride of place amongst the rest of her collection. She told the Daily Mail:

“I have no idea who told the Duchess of Cornwall about me. I don’t know how they knew. I was so upset I couldn’t go to see William and Kate’s wedding. We had hotel rooms booked and everything. My friend said I should use a wheelchair but she would never have got me through the crowds.”

In the end, Mary watched the ceremony from her niece’s home.

British Royal Prince Charles announced this week during a yet to air interview that he’s a distant relative to Vlad the Impaler, also known as the original Dracula.

Charles made the comment when talking about his “stake” in Romania where he recently purchased a home in the region and where he has been working to conserve Romania’s forested areas.

The Prince says he discovered the genealogy connection when examining his families history.

Prince Charles visited Romania early in the year where he called Transylvania a “national treasure” because of the areas unspoiled landscape and farming traditions that have lasted more than 100-years.

Vlad the Impaler ruled Romanian as a warlord in the 15th-century and received his name by slowly killing anyone who went against him by impaling them in public on large stakes.

Price Harry will finish his Apache helicopter pilot training in 2012 and then it’s expected that Britain’s Prince will return to the fight in Afghanistan.

You may recall that Prince Harry served in the Helmand provence in 2008 but was eventually removed when members of the media disclosed his location which could have put his fellow soldiers in increased danger.

Harry’s squadron is expected to deploy into the region in 2012, right after the Prince receives his helicopter certification.

According to spokesperson Clarence House:

“Harry is an army pilot and will deploy wherever the army chooses to send him. His course finishes in 2012 and after that his deployment will be a matter for the army chain of command.

The Royal Family now has an official Twitter feed after a few weeks of piloting the service. The account was created to keep fans and subjects abreast of Royal Family news and events, but a spokeswoman was quick to point out that Her Highness would not be liveblogging her lunch at Buckingham Palace:

“The intention,” she explained, “is that it is a news service rather than a personal voice.”

Indeed, as you can see from the ho-hum content of the sample below, the Queen’s twitter account is rather dry.
