Quentin Tarantino has revealed that he almost directed a comic book movie in the past after completing his debut movie.

“After Reservoir Dogs, I had been considered doing a Luke Cage, Hero For Hire movie,” discussed Tarantino. “Ed Pressman owned the rights at that time, and we talked about it. I talked to Laurence Fishburne about being Luke Cage, and he really like that idea. Then I ended up writing Pulp Fiction.”

When asked whether he might go on to write a super hero movie, he added, “If I wanted to do something like that, I’d want to create the superhero myself.”

Tarantino has also revealed that a few years ago he got a little obsessed about watching television. “I was for a while, about six years ago. I was watching a lot of the serialised television shows,” he said. ” I had to cut them out because I stopped going to movies because I was always caught up in four different serialised shows and the box set for this one and that one. I had to go, ‘Look, I ain’t about that. I’m about movies. I’d rather go out to the theater.’”

When discussing what he does watch on the small screen though, he remarked, “Hands down, my favorite show is How I Met Your Mother. I’ve been watching that since the very first episode, so that’s the one show that I always keeps watching.”

He then added, ” But I love Newsroom. That writing, every week, is just so exciting.” Tarantino’s Django Unchained will be released on Christmas Day.

‘Tarantino XX’ artwork is created by Mondo artist Ken Taylor. Exactly 20 years ago, Tarantino came onto the scene with the release of Reservoir Dogs, a film that depicts a simple jewelry heist gone awry. Hollywood got their first taste of the cult director and it has been a love affair ever since.

Tarantino has managed to make ultra-violence, ultra-cool. His characters usually include mismatched bandits and thieves.

The director maintains that any vulgarities or racial epithets are necessary in order to write characters accurately:

“As a writer, I demand the right to write any character in the world that I want to write. I demand the right to be them, I demand the right to think them and I demand the right to tell the truth as I see they are, all right?”

‘Tarantino XX’ includes Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill I, Kill Bill II, and Jackie Brown, among others. There will also be five hours of never-seen bonus material.

If the set of Tarantino classics isn’t enough, Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs will be playing in theaters nationwide on December 4 and December 6 respectively, The Chicago Tribune reports.

It’s shaping up to be a great holiday season for Quentin Tarentino fans now that Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction will be re-released on the big screen in celebration of the director’s 20 years in filmmaking.

Sadly both films will only have single-night runs, which means fans of the director will probably have to stand in line if they can’t secure advance tickets. Reservoir Dogs will have its single-night re-release on its 20 year anniversary, December 4, followed by Best Picture Academy Award nominee Pulp Fiction two days later on December 6.

Both Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction being re-released in theaters should increase the buzz surrounding the November 20 Miramax and Lionsgate Home Entertainment release of Tarantino XX: 8-Film Collection on Blu-ray. Containing eight films hand selected by the director himself, the set will highlight the first 20 years of Tarentino’s career. There are also two bonus discs which will contain seven hours of previously unreleased interviews and special features. The box-set is currently available for pre-order and features artwork by popular graphic artist Mondo.

Not only will Tarentino fans get to see his seminal works once again on the big screen, each showing will also feature a bonus documentary on his 20 years in filmmaking and several handpicked trailers of films that inspired the director to begin his own career.

All of this hype surrounding Tarentino’s 20 years of writing and directing culminates in the December 25 premiere of his latest film, Django Unchained starring Jamie Foxx as a slave-turned-bounty hunter who sets out to rescue his wife from an evil plantation owner.

Film nerds, rejoice! A 10-disc Blu-ray set containing all of Quentin Tarantino’s movies will hit retails shelves just in time for the holiday season. Slash Film reports that the set will contain all of the director’s movies released thus far including Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, True Romance, both installments of Kill Bill, Death Proof, and Inglourious Basterds. In addition to the aforementioned flicks, prospective buyers will receive two discs stuffed with new supplemental material.

The set, which has been dubbed Tarantino XX: 8-Film Collection, will feature a colorful cover design from the talented individuals at Mondo, a company known for their impressive movie posters and film-related artwork. According to the official press release, the set comes with a suggested retail price of $119.99, which is actually a pretty good deal for an eight movie package.

However, if you’ve already purchased the individual versions of these films, there’s essentially no reason for you to double dip. According to Slash Film, the Blu-ray collection doesn’t include new versions of the previously-released discs. Unless you want to spend $120 for some nifty artwork and two discs worth of supplement material, there’s no incentive for consumers to splurge for the same items twice.

Sadly, it doesn’t look like the extended Japanese cut of Kill Bill Vol. 1 will be included in the set either. Presently, the only way you can see this version of the movie is to download it (not recommended) or spend nearly $50 for a Region 2 DVD from Japan.

Not surprisingly, the release of the Tarantino XX: 8-Film Collection is scheduled to coincide with the director’s latest theatrical effort, the Old West revenge flick Django Unchained. The film — which stars Jamie Foxx, Don Johnson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, and Christoph Waltz — is scheduled to open in US theaters on December 25. The set, meanwhile, hits retail shelves on November 20.

Malibu, CA – Michael Madsen, the gravelly voiced actor best known for roles in Quentin Tarantino’s hit films Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill, was busted on suspicion of drunk driving yesterday afternoon.

Madsen, 54, was observed weaving in and out of lanes on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California while behind the wheel of a Pontiac GTO and was stopped by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies who smelled alcohol. According to TMZ, he allegedly blew a .20 on a breathalyzer, more than twice the legal limit. Madsen was then taken to a local hospital for evaluation. Deputies towed away the GTO, and Madsen was later booked on the misdemeanor DUI charge with bail set at $15,000. RadarOnline claims that “an empty beer bottle was on the passenger seat of the car, which is currently sitting in a police impound.”

The actor’s lawyer in a statement insisted, London’s Daily Mail reports, that his client is innocent:

“[Madsen] wants to assure his fans that he did not fail the field sobriety test and believes that the breathalyser test is flawed.”

Back in March, Madsen was arrested for alleged felony child endangerment after an altercation with his son, but authorities subsequently dropped the charges.

Michael Madsen has appeared in about 150 movies, often in tough-guy roles, mostly independent films. He portrayed “Mr. Blonde” in Reservoir Dogs and “Budd a.k.a. Sidewinder” in Kill Bill. He also was in Sin City and is slated for its upcoming sequel. This year Madsen was a houseguest in the British version of Big Brother (specifically Celebrity Big Brother) and finished fourth in the competition.
