One for the catgory of who the f*&^ thought that one up. A British design firm called Concentrate has released for sale pre-chewed pencils for kids. I know, just gross.

Apparently their aim is to help children concentrate at school by taking away reasons for them to lose focus or become distracted.

One of Concentrate’s designs is the ‘pre-chewed’ pencil. ‘no need to spend time chewing your pencil – just get down to some concentrated thinking and who knows what you might come up with’. This is their marketing slogan. What’s next math books that come pre-doodled? Pre-prepared hand drawn notes about how likes , want to meet at the bike rackas at .

Concentrate, says the pencils look like they have already been chewed making pupils less likely to put them in their mouths. I think kids not putting them in their mouths is less about the fact that they look chewed, and more about that Concentrate has fed their pencils to a pack of puppies. Om nom nom.

The company say this is a cheap but effective way of encouraging kids to get their teeth into their lessons. Yeah right. I’d have gone with the pre-drawn maths book.

No word on how they achieve this look. My money is on a sweat shop of 8 year olds out the back rabidly chowing down on pencils or it could be the puppies. Either way its just gross. But then this is the country that gave us Amy Winehouse ’nuff said.
