Police this weekend discovered marijuana plants growing outside a court in the NSW mid north coast of Australia.

Deemed a “prank” by someone who wanted to poke fun at Australia’s justice system the plants were quickly removed and no harm was done.

The plants were discovered after several witnesses reported the marijuana growing in the front garden of the Bellingen Court House in New South Whales on Wednesday afternoon.

When all was said and done 60 seedlings were removed from the property, all of which were believed to be marijuana producing seeds.

Speaking to the APP a police spokesman said:

“Police believe someone has just dropped the seedlings as a joke.”

No arrests have been made at this time and it would likely be hard to prosecute someone who plants the seeds with no intention of harvesting them.

Oh this is just too fun.

In most cases when some-one’s Facebook page gets pranked or otherwise abused it typically takes place in the comments on the person’s Wall page. In the case of letterbombing however it is the profile images that are used as the instrument of the prank.

As I’ve already written elsewhere I think very little of the crap that is disguised as April Fools joke when it comes to the Web. However that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some great and imaginative pranks being pulled.

Much like this one that Biola University professor Matthew Weathers pulled on his students this past April 1st. Nicely done Prof. Weathers … nicely done.

Some dude was none too happy when his ride was towed from the pub.

So the following morning, he paid the fee to bail his car out- $88, in pennies. The desk clerk tries her best to refuse, but homeboy won’t back down and calls in the law. Long story short, the tow company ends up accepting the pennies and the kid gets to drive his car home.

Yes, the gaggle of college dudes is kind of douchey, and yes, harassing someone who is just trying to do their job is a bit of a dick move, but are you really going to come down on the side of people who tow cars for profit here?

British police have started posting inappropriate emergency calls to YouTube. The calls range from the absurd — a guy calling to complain that his wife left him only subpar salmon sandwiches to eat — to the just plain odd, such as one where a man says his feet are sore because there aren’t enough buses in his neighborhood. Another woman calls in to ask what year the Internet started.

Police are hoping that by posting the clips, people will recognize the voices and help them catch the culprits. Of course, one could also argue that the exposure might encourage antics by giving would-be pranksters a public venue for their jokes. In all fairness, though, many of these calls do appear to be more of a result of plain old stupidity than intentional pranking.
