Sasha Grey, the retire porn star who has also been featured on the HBO series Entourage, made headlines last year when she was a featured reader at Emerson Elementary School in Compton, California to read to underprivileged kids. Now one of the companies that used to film Grey doing her “thing” has decided to use part of the proceeds from Grey’s last film “Anal Artists,” to help promote literacy among kids. They announced that a portion of the sales would go to the National Education Association’s Read Across America Program.

The National Education Association, which is the country’s largest teacher’s union said in a statement to the Huffington Post that they were not interested in the money or the actress. The Statement said,

“Sasha Grey is not affiliated with the National Education Association’s Read Across America program nor has she been invited or endorsed by NEA to read at any of the association’s Read Across America Day events, and NEA will not accept any proceeds from her latest, or any of her films,”

Howard Levine of Exile Distribution, who is in charge of the company who is releasing “Anal Artists said the NEA was discriminating against them. He said in a statement,

“Anyone that’s supporting reading and helping kids and donating money to their cause should be accepted. I don’t understand why they would not accept that — only the fact she was in adult films. I understand their position — they don’t want to be associated with any adult film stars. I think that everybody has a slanted opinion on what the adult film community is so I know that they’re trying to be politically correct.”.

Sasha Grey stood her ground herself over the issue saying she has every intention of continuing to be involved with the education and illiteracy issues.

She said,

“Promoting education is an effort that is close to my heart. Illiteracy contributes to poverty; encouraging children to pick up a book is fundamental. I committed to this program with the understanding that people who have their own opinions about what I have done, who I am and what I represent. … I have a past that some people may not agree with, but it does not define who I am.”

She also sent out a tweet thanking the NEA and Read Across America for supporting her decision to stay involved.

The NEA said they couldn’t figure out why she would say that because,

“At no time has NEA sent letters or messages of support (or otherwise) or any other communications to Ms. Grey,” according to an NEA statement Monday.

Do you think the NEA should accept Sasha Grey’s porno money?

Pornographers shooting movies in Los Angeles are now required by law to have all male performers wear condoms during filming.

City Council members voted 9-1 to approve the ordinance which will go into effect 90 days from Tuesday. Under the cities plans a film permit fee will then be used to fund surprise inspections on porn shoots to ensure compliance.

While California occupational health authorities have had a similar rule in effect for some time it has never been fully enforced.

Speaking to Reuters the chief of a porn industry trade group complained:

“Clearly, this is about the government overreaching and intruding into consenting adults’ decisions.” That Chief adds, “They are taking something they know nothing about and imposing their morality on our industry.”

In the meantime the AIDS Healthcare Foundation has applauded the measure which it fought to have enacted into law for years. The agency believes that changes will be made since receiving porn permits in other towns outside of California have been hard to come by. Even in parts of Las Vegas where prostitution has been legalized the use of condoms is a requirement for sex workers.

The Aids organization promises to “follow them wherever they go” in referring to the pornographers who may flee Los Angeles and head for no condom required areas throughout the United States, that is if other cities will have them.

Do you believe that the Los Angeles city council has overstepped its bounds in forcing pornographers to make performers wear condoms while filming?

Mom, please put the phone down and come to dinner!

Not the words you would expect to hear in this day and age, but according to ABC News the phone sex industry is flourishing with the help of at-home mothers. ABC got its numbers form an organization called ratracerebellion.com, who are dedicated to finding mothers at home work. According to them the phone sex industry has seen a 400% increase from at-home mothers.

The oldest profession goes High-tech! well not so high-tech. With the explosion of the internet over the last 20 years, most at home sex workers have turned to video conferencing as their preferred way of making a buck. The phone sex industry truly reached it peak in the 80′s and 90′s, back when 900 numbers were everywhere, but even though most phone companies give you the option of blocking calls to 900 numbers, anyone with a credit card and desire can still find an over the phone romp.

Chris Durst, CEO of Ratracerebellion.com, told ABC’s “Good Morning America” that many moms who reach out to her for help procuring phone sex work are embarrassed that they have to do it, but that necessity overrides personal feelings towards the industry.

The phone sex industry is still a huge industry with over $1 Billion dollars annually spent on the phone. They say it is more of a niche market now, for those not wishing to be seen over a computer line or in person, but the money is still there. Mothers are reporting income of between $10- $50 dollar per hour as a phone sex operator, with certain nights averaging much more than that.

Where are the fathers in all of this? You would be shocked to know most (albeit a bit begrudgingly) are supportive, realizing that if all that stands between them and paying their bills or their mortgages is a dirty phone call, there is a lot worse things that can be done.

One of the husbands interviewed by ABC News had this to say about his wife’s new profession “That she has the ability to bring in a little extra each month and sometimes a lot extra each month and be able to not have to worry about how and where we’re going to get food or if the electric bills are going to be shut off, that’s a big deal … That overrides any sort of other worries I might have.”

Would you be ok with your wife being a phone sex operator?

If you happen to be logging into your Facebook account today, especially from work or school we have a message for you, user beware! It turns out that a group of hacking pranksters have been sending malicious links to users which in turn has posted various pornographic images into their news feed.

How bad is the porn? One Twitter user tweeted:

“I saw a dead dog, Justin Bieber sucking a d***, and a naked grandma. Time to delete Facebook.”

The images are coming as users click on what appears to be valid links from their friends and other subscribers, most often telling their followers to check out a funny YouTube video or a funny picture from other sites. One example that Forbes found had the message:

“Wow, I can’t believe you did this in this video. I LOLed.”

Facebook was quick to respond to the spammy links and told ZDnet they are

“Aware of these reports” and “investigating the issue.”

While the hacking group Anonymous has been blamed for the attacks by some groups they have not yet come forward to claim responsibility although the supposed “humor” in the message sounds more like something LulzSec would attempt to accomplish.

Have you found unwanted pornographic images and videos in your Facebook feed or the feed of friends today? Remember to reset your Facebook password the moment you realize you have been hacked and always check your Facebook feed after you have clicked on links, even if they come from your most trusted friends.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has issued an apology for the suggestive photos that came out of him and porn star BiBi Jones.

The pictures were taken and posted on BiBi’s Twitter account apparently to get him more followers. BiBi, who tweets under the handle xxxBiBiJones, had 110,000 followers on Twitter.

The pictures were taken while Gronkowski was on a a trip in Arizona to visit some friends. That’s where he met the star of “Naughty Nanny 3″ and “Lesbian Seductions 35.” The photos were taken in a bedroom, implying intimacy between the two, with Jones wearing the #87 Patriots jersey.

While Jones admitted that she often sleep with athletes, she said that:

“Nothing happened. I wish something had, but nothing happened.”

For his part, Gronkowski apologized for the incident:

“I didn’t intend anything to hurt the reputation of anyone on the New England Patriots or on behalf of Robert Kraft (team owner). It’s just a simple picture, that’s all.”

Yeah, right. What do you think? Was it just a simple picture?

Children visiting the Sesame Street Youtube page on Sunday were greeted by some pornographic images. Hackers took control of the site and replaced all the Sesame Street content with porno.

CNN reports that the webpage was taken down Sunday afternoon and that the porno was visible on the site for about 20 minutes.

Sesame Street issued an apology, saying:

“Our channel was compromised and we are presently working with YouTube/Google to restore our original content. We always strive to provide age-appropriate content for our viewers and hope to resolve this problem quickly.”

According to Gawker, the hackers replaced the main Youtube Video with a 7-minute clip from the skin flick First Anal Quest: Angelica. (You can see a screenshot here. NSFW.)

Sesame Street’s Youtube Channel description was also changed to a message from MREDXWX and MRSUICIDER91. The message read:

“WHO DOESN’T LOVE PORN KIDS? RIGHT! EVERYONE LOVES IT! IM MREDXWX AND MY PARTNER MRSUICIDER91 ARE HERE TO BRING YOU MANY NICE CONTENT! PLEASE DON’T LET SESAME STREET TO GET THIS ACCOUNT BACK KIDS PLEASE…LET ME AND MRSUICIDER91 HAVE IT AND WE GONNA MAKE ALL THE AMERICA HAPPY!”

Mr. EDXWX quickly posted a note saying that he was not responsible for the hacking.

“I did not hack Sesame Street. I am an honest YouTuber. I work hard to make quality gameplay videos, and most important I respect the community guidelines.”

The Sesame Street muppets keep getting themselves into adult situations. Last week, several muppets were spotted at the Occupy Sesame Street protests.

Should Google try to find out who is responsible for the hack? Should the hackers face criminal charges?

The uproar over the changes to Facebook have quieted down a little bit in the days since their initial announcement of all the changes but that could very well change if this interesting post from Techwag is any indication.

One thing to keep in mind here is one of the changes to Facebook is the change of your profile page into what they call your Timeline and is a persistent record, and display, of things you have done on Facebook and on the wider web as you visit sites that employ Facebook Like buttons or check ins.

Rather than spoil the fun I’ll let Dan Morrill from Techwag explain it to you.

With a sense of humor because when Mashable’s Pete Cashmore wrote that Facebook users should be beware that the new timeline feature could embarrass a user, I just had to see what the porn industry was doing. Porn has been trying to get involved in social media, but for a multi-billion dollar industry we tend to turn a blind eye to what is arguably one of the internet’s most popular features, and one of the most consumed but unacknowledged products out there.

So imagine my surprise to see a couple of porn sites this morning using Facebook Connect, and yes, they knew who I was. Embarrassed possibly, more humored because this really is how the adult industry is going to get into social media and it will be done because users rarely log out of facebook (even that might not help) and facebook connect is everywhere.

So in effect if the porn site enables the passive sharing part of Facebook, has like buttons, or lets you sign into the site using your Facebook credentials you activity on a porn site can show up in your timeline on Facebook.

This is going to be interesting and I can see some new meme sites starting up any day soon to chronicle these kinds of things.

Yup .. good move this Timeline thing.

It never seems to fail but for some reasons companies live under some kind of illusion that in this day of network access from anywhere that just simply firing the guy that managed your networks without cleaning up their passwords and accounts after them is all you have to do.

Well one company found out the hard way that this isn’t the case after they fired their IT manager.

It seems that 52-year-old Walter Powell wasn’t overly happy when Baltimore Substance Abuse Systems Inc felt that they no longer needed his services in 2009. So rather than take his firing lying down Powell decided to hack into his previous employer’s network from home and install some keylogging software in order to collect company passwords.

The coup de grâce for Powell was when he took remote control of his former CEO’s PowerPoint presentation to the company board of directors and projected pornographic images on the 64″ TV.

Needless to say Powell was eventually caught and given a two year suspended sentence, three years’ probation, and 100 hours of community service.

The umbrella of content deemed Not Safe For Work (NSFW) got a bit bigger this week when the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a biology teacher’s termination over a Google Image Search for the word “blonde.”

While hair color is certainly a relative topic to biology, that didn’t protect teacher Robert Zellner’s job after he turned off safe search and his search term unsurprisingly turned up quite a few pornographic thumbnails, on which he did not click. Muddying the case is the fact that Zellner had just engaged in “constitutionally protected criticism” affecting his employer before the tenuous link leading to his termination was discovered.

Wired lays out the 67 seconds of searching that wound up costing Zellner his job:

First, Zellner disengaged the “safe search” filter. He then typed “blonde” into the Google search box. The search produced 20 “thumbnail” images, all of them pornographic, with links to more images within and outside the Google website. He then clicked to display the next 20 images. Zellner then clicked a link entitled “more of these” adjacent to images from www.ardentes.free.frblonde.com. When Zellner did so, another 20 pornographic “thumbnail” images were displayed on his monitor for a total of 17 seconds. Zellner did not click on any of the photographs displayed in his search. The entire incident took 67 seconds.

Sound like something that could feasibly happen to any employee of any company who uses Google for any purpose? Scarily, the court did, too, but ruled against him anyway:

“While it is abundantly clear that the relationship between the union and the district was contentious, combative and miserable, and that Zellner and the district played a central role in the relationship, Zellner ignores the discovery of his Nov. 6 Google image search,” the appeals court ruled. “It is undisputed that the search violated the district’s policy, that Zellner admitted that he performed the search, and that he knew he violated the policy. Accordingly, the school board had a legitimate, nondiscriminatory reason to terminate Zellner’s employment.”

The court also ruled that the firing was “unrelated” to Zellner’s union activity and critical comments made about the school district in the press. Do you think such a ruling gives employers too much leverage over tenured or otherwise protected employees? Should employees granted internet access at work be held responsible for what the web may or may not spew back at them before they’ve got a chance to close the page? Do we need a work-internet five second rule?

[Wired]

Amy Fisher, who rose to international infamy in the early 1990s for shooting her married lover’s wife in the face on the couple’s doorstep, has transitioned from unwitting sex tape ‘star’ to actual full time porn star, the attempted murderess admits.

Once dubbed the “Long Island Lolita,” (and sporting an accent that even made my twelve-year-old self embarrassed to say I was from Long Island) Fisher vowed to Maury Povich back when her first tape hit that porn wouldn’t become a habit:

“I’m not going to be a porn star,” Fisher pledged to Maury in 2007 after a private sex tape with husband Lou Bellera — who leaked the tape — sold a Paris Hilton-esque 200,000 copies.

On tomorrow’s show, she apologizes for going back on her word.

Hubby Bellera, who also appears on the show, says he has no problem his wife’s new career. “I’m better than him,” Bellera bragged of Fisher’s co-star.

Fisher inked a deal during the summer to make at least eight blue movies. In a press release from a porn company, she gushed about the impact of making porn on her life:

“I am very proud and excited about this film, and the work DreamZone Entertainment accomplished to make my journey to Los Angeles one of the most amazing trips of my life,” Fisher said.

Fisher continued:

“All of the locations were beautiful, and our time in Venice was more fun than you could imagine,” Fisher said. “Evan Stone, he is one funny man, but also an incredible lover.”

On Maury, she also disclosed that she still keeps in touch with her former boyfriend Joey Buttafuoco, and that he’s doing well and “staying out of the spotlight.”

Yup, it seems, according to Today’s Christian Woman, that one out of six women (Christian women included) are being lured into pornography addiction.

Now I want to just clarify one thing before going any further with this rib tickling news item. As far as I am concerned this whole pornography and sex addiction thing – it’s a load of crap used to enable a bunch of psychologists to buy next year’s BMW. So when I see statements in the Washington Times that perpetrate this malarkey I just want to laugh.

Serious what else can you do but laugh when you read stuff like this:

Researchers have long known that the Internet has contributed to pornography addiction by making it so easily accessible — no need to go out in a raincoat, pull a hat down over the face, and sneak furtively into the red-light district.

In the past much of this so-called porn addiction was leveled at, and used as an excuse by men. It would seem now though, at least according to some survey originally done ion 2006 by Internet Filter Review that 17 percent of women said that they were in the terrible grip of a pornography addiction. Top that off with another study in 2008 by Internet Pornography Statistics that 30 percent of porn consumers are women and you get the feeling that the very moral fiber of our society is coming crashing down.

Of course the psychologists are all over this with incredibly cognizant opinions as Rachel B. Duke points points out in her Washington Times article:

Psychologists and researchers attribute the increase to the Internet’s anonymity and safety. Now a woman needn’t sneak into the places good girls avoid.

“Women can still become addicted to pornography in the same way that men do,” said Douglas Weiss, a licensed psychologist and executive director of Heart to Heart Counseling Center in Colorado Springs. “I do think that the partial reason for this is women becoming more intelligent about usage of the Internet — going online and chatting, developing relationships and acting out sexually.”

Studies have shown that women find it easier to click a few buttons on the Internet to search for sexually alluring material. In the absence of a social context, pornography is more appealing to women because there are no social repercussions for using it.

The nice things here is of course that us guys can now feel better knowing that Miss Goodie Two Shoes over there is probably your best friend on Ashley Madison.

While roughly half of humans will tell you they were already born with a porn detection stick, a company is marketing a device that purports to offer a “robust illicit image detection device designed to protect your family, business or organization.”

If finding out that someone besides yourself is looking at porn on a computer is the kind of thing you do in lieu of hobbies or other constructive things, for a mere $100 you too can own Paraben’s “Porn Detection Stick.” Employing “different algorithms that look at things such as flesh tones, shapes, facial recognition, and more,” the anti-porn stick compiles these instances and marks them “suspect” or “highly suspect.” However, I think this aspect of the copy is highly telling about the whole exercise of covertly rooting out porn viewing:

Images that are determined to be suspect can easily be a false positive hit. This means there are elements in the image that triggered enough suspicion for it to be categorized as suspicious. You’ll notice many of these pictures are of people who have a larger amount of skin showing (pictures of babies often get marked as suspicious) or contain a lot of flesh tones (a picture of a cardboard box may be marked as a false positive) or even have round or elongated shapes. Sometimes it’s not obvious why an image is marked as a false positive.

A lot of people look at straight up porn. But some people come across it incidentally on the internet. And a lot of what people look at online to get their rocks off won’t read as “porn” to lots of other people. (Foot fetishes, pregnancy fetishes, leather or latex kinks, for instance.) On the surface, I can only think of two instances in which this kind of technology would be used- suspect employees and suspect significant others. However, output is much more indicative of an employee’s worth than what they look at during their downtime and it’s not really anyone’s place to tell their spouse or partner not to look at dirty pictures on the interwebs. Basically, if you buy this thing, you’re a paranoid jerk. (And very likely to harass someone for an errant Evony banner ad.)

Besides, for just $50 I will accurately tell you that every male you know is looking at computer porn. I take PayPal or cash, no personal checks.

[ProofPronto via ChipChick]

Guardian journalist Jacqueline Hunt has stepped on her soapbox to declare that videogames are nothing more than “extreme pornography,” arguing that “many [...] promote violence against women.”

To bolster her case, Hunt focuses on RapeLay (pictured above), an extremely obscure Japan-only title in which the player manipulates an onscreen penis to simulate the rape of teenage girls. There’s an incredibly brief mention of Grand Theft Auto IV, but aside from that, RapeLay is the focus of Hunt’s ire.

What Hunt fails to address is that many gamers – myself included – would completely agree that RapeLay is deeply unsavory and depraved. However, Hunt doesn’t acknowledge (or doesn’t realize – a scarier possibility) that RapeLay is in no way representative of mainstream gaming.

Or, to put it another way, I could just as easily write a column in which I cherry-pick and then lambast films with extreme content, but I would never tar all films with the same brush, as Hunt seems to in her misguided diatribe. That would be ludicrous.

As a final note, I’m surprised that this appeared in the Guardian. The famously lefty newspaper is renowned for its open-minded approach to videogames, has an excellent blog dedicated to the medium, and only last week ran a truly heartening Charlie Brooker column extolling the wonders of gaming. I suppose it’s nice they’re covering all sides of the debate, but when a viewpoint as misinformed as Jacqueline Hunt’s is published, what’s the point?

It took a pair of magicians, but someone finally managed to make an iPhone app with porn.

Maria “SnakeBabe” Gara and Steve Sheraton, who are Las Vegas based magicians, managed to circumvent Apple porn rules via the Safari browser. Using locally cached web content, the Sex App Shop doesn’t even require web access after the initial content is stored to provide you with porn regardless of time or location. From their website:

“We wanted to create a store for all the iPhone users out there who have been looking

for a secure, fast and legal way to view real adult content without jail-breaking or hacking

their devices,” said Maria Gara, ‘The SnakeBabe’ and owner of Premier App Shop LLC.

“Our apps are delivered over the air instantly without requiring an iTunes transaction.”

“We wanted to create a store for all the iPhone users out there who have been looking for a secure, fast and legal way to view real adult content without jail-breaking or hacking their devices,” said Maria Gara, ‘The SnakeBabe’ and owner of Premier App Shop LLC.

“Our apps are delivered over the air instantly without requiring an iTunes transaction.”

At $99 for a yearly susbscription, the .99 individual apps might be more budget friendly for the on-the-go fapper. Discretion is also part of the service:

Credit card statements are billed as Premier App ShopTM, which is a fully-operational magic trick site, thus creating an innocuous decoy for snooping bosses or family members. The home screen icon can also be edited by the user to look like something inconspicuous. Additionally, there are no traces of adult content in the user’s browser, video player or photo viewer.

Apple has yet to comment on the innovation.

Adverts for the notorious “free to play” strategy title Evony are ubiquitous and tacky. We already know this. We know that Evony’s makers use images of scantily-clad females in their adverts, cut from stock photos, to market the game – even if said females have nothing whatsoever to do with Evony itself.

Then again, at least previous adverts featured girls in could-almost-be-authentic medieval/fantasy clothes that chimed with the setting of the game. Now, they’re not even trying. Now, we get porn models in bikinis in an Evony advert.

The ad for Evony you see above was snapped by Negative Gamer, which recognized the two models from <strike>its</strike> a copy of low-budget porno Girls playing with Girls 102 (here’s the Amazon listing). Strictly speaking, these models don’t actually appear in Girls playing with Girls 102; as the single user review over on Amazon puts it:

“The girls on the cover are not the girls on the DVD. The women on the DVD look like they are on a 3 year meth binge, toothless and homely.”

Charming. And even so, ouch. A bit of an oversight there from whichever work experience lackey designs Evony‘s impossibly rubbish adverts.
