Evony advertised with porn models

Adverts for the notorious “free to play” strategy title Evony are ubiquitous and tacky. We already know this. We know that Evony’s makers use images of scantily-clad females in their adverts, cut from stock photos, to market the game – even if said females have nothing whatsoever to do with Evony itself.

Then again, at least previous adverts featured girls in could-almost-be-authentic medieval/fantasy clothes that chimed with the setting of the game. Now, they’re not even trying. Now, we get porn models in bikinis in an Evony advert.

The ad for Evony you see above was snapped by Negative Gamer, which recognized the two models from ~~its~~ a copy of low-budget porno Girls playing with Girls 102 (here’s the Amazon listing). Strictly speaking, these models don’t actually appear in Girls playing with Girls 102; as the single user review over on Amazon puts it:

“The girls on the cover are not the girls on the DVD. The women on the DVD look like they are on a 3 year meth binge, toothless and homely.”

Charming. And even so, ouch. A bit of an oversight there from whichever work experience lackey designs Evony’s impossibly rubbish adverts.

Porn: It’s what’s for breakfast

Heh. Heh, heh heh. Porn Flakes!

A Swedish woman is complaining to Nestle (and the press) about an unexpected bonus in her box of “Nestle Fitness” cereal. In lieu of the anticipated free “body jam” workout DVD, Ida Riedel Palmer instead got some links to what she termed “unpleasant porn.” (Body jam? That wasn’t a tip off?)

Palmer initially thought she’d been exposed to a virus independent of the DVD, and she rang her boyfriend to ask if he’d used her computer. Then she tested the DVD in two other computers, with the same results. Eventually, Palmer reports, the advertised fitness content did show up, just prefaced by porn.

Palmer called Nestle to tip them off to the unadvertised extra, and they’ve promised to “get to the bottom of” the breakfast porn. And Ida doesn’t hold it against the cereal manufacturers. She says:

“No I haven’t changed cereal. But I have bought another packet.”

In Ukraine: No Porn without Rx

In June, the Ukrainian parliament made possession of porn- like, any and all- illegal without a prescription.

I know what you’re thinking. What in the hell condition would require a prescription for porn? I think I have it. What is the dosage? Does my insurance cover it? Is there a co-pay…

But seriously, someone should contact Amnesty International. According to The Register, possession of all porn is punishable by a fine of about £69 (heh heh heh) or three years in jail. That’s not even just the really freaky-freaky stuff. Any porn can land you in the big house under new laws. As quoted in the piece, it comes down to the eternal “definition of porn” problem:

“Pornography is vulgar, candid, cynical, obscene depiction of sexual acts, pursuing no other goal, the explicit demonstration of genitals, unethical elements of the sexual act, sexual perversions, realistic sketches that do not meet moral criteria and offend honour and dignity of the human by inciting low instincts.”

So why the sudden legislation? The linked article suggests that it may be an attempt to get in good with us puritanical Westerners, citing a 2004 push in UK parliament:

Back in the UK, in May 2004, Labour MP David Lepper boasted in parliament of how he and a number of fellow MP’s, concerned by the Graham Coutts case, had put forward a five-point plan to Ministers for controlling extreme porn. The five points were:

Persuading internet service providers, search engine companies and web hosting companies to block access to extreme porn

Criminalising the possession of extreme porn

Better international co-operation in dealing with extreme images on the internet

A souped up role for Ofcom

Requiring credit card companies to put a financial squeeze on the providers of extreme images

This plan was received favourably by then Home Secretary, David Blunkett, who raised it in discussion with his counterparts in the United States. The same issues were then raised with countries in the G8 and Europe.

Whatever the reasons are that prompted the new law-, hello, no porn! Why is there not more global outcry over this?

Porn: There’s an app for that!

With the new parental controls on the iPhone 3GS, it didn’t take too long for ta-tas to hit the app store.

Last week saw a weak vibrator app called myVibe, and yesterday existing app “Hottest Girls” (no points for creativity there) upgraded to include nudity. Developer Allen Leung was quoted as saying:

“We uploaded nude topless pics today. This is the first app to have nudity.”

While the offerings are relatively tame (nothing you’d not see in an 80’s comedy about summer camp) the app is the first to officially offer soft porn in the app store. Yay for landmarks!

We all know official boobies on your iPhone is no great shakes- you can get much spicier porn straight up from Safari on the iPhone as well. But the move is significant because it opens the door for a whole lot more Apple-sanctioned porn. The evolution of adult-oriented apps will probably be slow going, as no one wants to get banned. But with Apple taking a 30% cut in the app store, the prospect of indulging users’ more base appetites is likely too compelling to ignore.

The WoW Gold selling website, MyMMOShop.com has paid Russian porn star Anna Morgan to tattoo their company’s logo and website URL to her breasts. The company feels that her natural dd sized breasts will provide an ample space for the advertisement. Given the number of films porn stars tend to make in a year’s time, the tattoo should be seen many thousands of times. Anna has agreed not to alter the tattoo for at least two years.

Porn Industry Asking For Federal Bailout. Yes, Seriously.

Stop the presses — the American porn industry is now asking for a federal bailout.

Hustler’s Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild’s Joe Francis say they’ll ask Congress to hand out $5 billion to help the adult entertainment industry get back on its feet — or, perhaps more appropriately, back on its back.

The two say adult DVD sales and rentals have slipped 22 percent over the last year. While Internet porn traffic is growing steadily, the industry isn’t profiting enough, the two assert. They believe it needs support — “just to see us through hard times,” Francis says. (And yes, he really did use that adjective.)

Flynt said the following in a statement released Wednesday:

“People are too depressed to be sexually active. This is very unhealthy as a nation. Americans can do without cars and such but they cannot do without sex.

With all this economic misery and people losing all that money, sex is the farthest thing from their mind. It’s time for congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America. The only way they can do this is by supporting the adult industry and doing it quickly.”

Congress has yet to issue any official response.

Firefox fanboys can now surf pr0n in private with everyone else

Yes folks, Firefox 3.1 beta 2 is out in the wild and you to can now safely surf through the minefield of porn without raising any suspicions of the better half. Doesn’t that just make you feel so much safer inside?

Of course that isn’t the only thing that Firefox is readying for the public release of 3.1. After all there is always a couple of more things that they can rip-off borrow from the other browsers.

Just like that fancy tab tearing off to create a new browser window thing that Chrome and Safari have been doing. Well now you will be able to do that as well in your spanky new version of Firefox 3.1

Yup colour me impressed. I just wonder if they’ve finally after all these years managed to kill the same memory bug that has plagued it since day one. But hey having safe porn browsing is more important – I guess.

American Airlines is not your airline of choice for porn in the sky

American Airlines is giving way to feedback from its customers and employees. The company announced that they are working with Aircell towards implementing a filter on pornographic content.

In September, American Airlines flight attendants, through the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, asked the carrier to filter its in-flight Internet service to block access to pornography and other web sites that are inappropriate.

The company contends that despite the move, it has not experienced any reported incidents of customers viewing inappropriate content via its Internet service. I don’t believe them. Someone must have tried looking at one. Really. There must be someone. You?

American Airlines was the first airline to launch Internet access to customers flying its Boeing 767-200 aircraft between New York JFK and San Francisco, Los Angeles and Miami as part of a three-to-six month trial of inflight connectivity. The introduction of inflight Wi-Fi provides customers the opportunity to be productive and stay connected while in flight and not to satisfy clamor for porn.

So, if you want porn in the sky, American Airlines should not be your airline of choice.

Porn in space fails to reach liftoff

Love it or hate it, the porn industry is a multi-billion dollar industry that likes to push more than just moral boundaries. Hollywood movies have long been a favorite target of Porn producers, with the 2005 porn flick Pirates, a take on Pirates of the Caribbean, having a budget of over $1 million going on to be the biggest selling porn title the following year. Nothing is sacred to the porn industry, and that includes space.

Virgin Galactic, the company planning to take tourists to the edge of space in 2009/2010 have turned down a $1 million offer to shoot a “a sex-in-space movie.”

According to reports, Will Whitehorn, president of Virgin Galactic disclosed the offer at the International Astronautical Congress Tuesday. Whitehorn said simply that “That was money we had to refuse, I’m afraid.”

Man Fined For Having Internet Porn

A Chinese man is facing criminal charges over having porn on his personal computer. The man says the Nanyang City Public Security Bureau Internet Squad showed up at his property just days after he was married. They searched his PC, found a 30-minute adult video — then confiscated the computer and fined him $277.

The officers, he says, told him they believed someone was using his IP address “to distribute harmful information.” He says when they took the computer, they claimed it was because of “suspicion of downloading pornographic material.” He was later told the fine was a result of the “computer network and Internet safety protection administrative regulations.”

The case gets fairly convoluted, but long story short, officers eventually indicated that the charges had to do with the fact that the clip was downloaded via BitTorrent. That, they suggested, could “provide seeds for others to download” the material in question.

The whole thing has stirred up a media storm in the region — and, according to news reports, has turned the guy into somewhat of an Internet star. Following the online outcry, police ended up cancelling the fine. They maintained, however, that a law had been broken, and said they would “impart a punishment of criticism and education.”

In response to that, the man told local reporters the following:

“There really wasn’t any criticism. Mostly it was that I should try not to watch so much porn in the future.”

Uh, right. Lesson learned?

Have You Seen the Porn Inspector?

Police are trying to track down a self-described “porn inspector.”

The guy’s plan seemed simple enough: He marched into an adult video store in Colorado and told them he was there to check out the x-rated videos and make sure there were no underage performers. He even went as far as to flash a badge and leave a business card stating he was with the “age verification unit” of the local police force.

Mr. Inspector tried to get free videos on three separate occasions, but the store didn’t fall for it. They called the real cops, who are now using surveillance tape to try to find the fella.

The man is described as 5 foot 6 with long black hair and a noticeable stiffy.
