]]> Nokia has a new social networking tool under its belt.

The cell phone company has bought out Plazes, a start-up that uses GPS and other location-sensing protocols to let users share their activities and whereabouts with friends.

The Plazes team says it will continue to operate, along with new members from Nokia’s location-based service team, out of Berlin.

The amount paid for the acquisition isn’t being made public.
